Quicktime Plugin not working in Browers

Hello,
I am having a frustrating problem with my quicktime plugin not working in BOTH Safari and Firefox. When I try to watch my a quicktime link on the web I cannot view it, I get the quicktime icon with the question mark. However, when I log in as a different user and goto the same link I can view the movie. I believe the movie is a mp4.
I have already deleted my quicktime preferences and also tried to boot up in 32 bit mode.
Any suggestions to what may cause this? This must be something that is specific to my user. I have also removed perian and deleted perian preferences.

Quicktime plugin not working in Firefox

I recently upgraded to Mac Lion and now find that I can not play .mp3 files embedded in web pages if viewed in Firefox. The same pages play okay in the same version of Firefox if running on SL10.6.8, or in Safari or Chrome on the Lion machine. I have checked the plugins list in Firefox and it shows that Quicktime is installed and enabled. I was also able to stream and watch videos (with audio) from the Apple web site. I just can't get embedded .mp3 files to play on a web play in Firefox. Any ideas?

I downloaded the newest version of itunes. now Quicktime is not working with it. I reinstalled itunes as directed and it's still not working

That one is often a compatibility mode problem. Try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):

NIK plugins not working with LR4.

Installed LR4 and then NIK software plugins not working. Get the error "bad argument#1 to 'lower' (string expected, got nil).
Downloaded the latest updates from NIK and have same error.

Quick look 3rd party plugins not working

The 3rd party plugins not working. Illustrator, Folder view, and quark are the three I use. They worked nice in 10.5.x Tried /Library/quicklook/ tried /user/library/quicklook/ even forced into system/library/quicklook/
Anybody else use these or any other 3rd party plugin?

Quicktime X not working

My quicktime has not worked for several months and for a while I just dealt with it and used other software. Now, I really need to be able to use it to play certain footage I have captured. I'm not sure if there are missing codecs or what might be causing the problem. It does not open at all - not even the correct logo is showing up under my apps.
I have Quicktime X, and I can't find it anywhere to download a new version of it.

Still waiting for a response. Someone must know.

Quicktime objects not working on GoLive

I have a GoLive CS2 Student Version. My Quicktime Objects are not working. I tried to drag the track objects to the page or to layer and no avail.
Can you help me? I spent a whole day to finally figure out the Quicktime objects not working.

To explain what I am doing in more detail: I am basically making an image gallery with thumbnail buttons of each image. When the user enters this page I want to have the automatic slideshow of a few images. Then the user have the option to click on the buttons to see the images. I was able to make a slideshow in GoLive. But the transition is abrupt. According to the GoLive Help Menu there is a way to make the trasnition smoother using the timeline editor, but it is too difficult to follow up for me. So I downloaded another program called SWFn'Slide which was very easy to make the smooth transitional slideshow. Now I am trying to insert the SWF file into my page. But I can't figure out how to do it. In my understanding, I must place a layer on the page and on that layer I must place the SWF track from the Quicktime Objects tab. But I cannot drag any of the Quicktime Objects tools into the page. Again I am having a problem inserting a SWF file into the page.

Quicktime Does Not Work...Striped yellow/black bar or Q with ?

Hi, I have read the previous posts about similar problems with quicktime but the posted fixes have not resolved my issue. I have three computers. Quicktime quit working on two of them. Before upgrading to the latest version, I got the yellow/black striped bar when quicktime tried to open. Now I get the Q with the ?. I've checked my settings and even reselected the "default" settings several times but to no avail. As to the "system preferences and deselecting quicktime with flash" input, I have been unable to locate this setting (at least as described). I have upgraded my flash as well. All three computers supposedly have the same settings.
Sometimes I receive a popup indicating additional quicktime software/plugins are required to run the media and asking if I want to get the necessary files. When I click, "yes," it takes me to the quicktime plugin page, but does not tell me what is needed.

The site posted is using Adobe Flash Player 9. The QT version on the computer only supports version's of Macromedia Flash Player 5. Open the QT control panel, go to Browser tab, Mime Settings, and uncheck Flash media, listed under Misc.Misc. file formats. Or refer too:http://kb.mozillazine.org/Quicktime

Quicktime Controls Not Working in Browser

The Quicktime controls, play button, scrub bar, etc., do not work when I play a video in a browser. The controls display and react to clicks, but do not affect the playback of the video. I'm running 10.4.11 with QT plugin version 7.4 in Firefox 2.0.0.11.
It seems like this mostly occurs with Oreilly's Safari training videos. Other videos like Apple QT trailers play okay.
Firefox does play the video correctly sometimes which seems like its the first time during a day that I play it near as I can figure. Restarting Firefox doesn't help.
In Safari 3.0.4, the controls work with errors such as the play button rewinding the video.

Maybe this will give somebody else some clues. I'm trying to display .TIFF files within IE7 or Firefox using the appropritate plugin for each. I'm on Vista32. Have installed latest ITunes and QT. Seems to be a problem with file associations with QT. Vista associations show FF as default player for .TIFF (same thing if I switch to IE7). QT MIME settings agree that FF or IE7 are default app for .TIFF. In both FF and IE7, "opening" a .TIFF file with either IE7 or FF causes QT to get control of the browser window and does not display the .TIFF file (as it used to for both FF and IE7). The .TIFF file is opening correctly with other apps, only having a problem with browser plugins. Not sure how to fix this, so will probably give up on .TIFF files in browsers for a while and see if somthing in QT gets fixed. I'm using QT Player v7.6.4 (518.35)and FF v3.5.2 and IE7 with all maint. Evidence says QT is getting control even though it should not be and is getting in the way of valid plugins.
I can however, start IE7 and manually point to a .MOV file and QT uses the QT plugin and plays the .MOV file ok. The same thing happens with FF. Open FF and manually point to a .MOV file and QT plays it ok. The problem for me is QT getting in the way of .TIFF file displays. The QT troubleshooting page shows QT installed and running ok.

My quicktime does not work at all on my iMac with Lion

When I click the quicktime icon it does not open up at all. Quicktime has never worked since the day I bought the computer which was a few weeks ago. Is there a fix to this problem?

QuickTime does work under 10.7, however you may want to check that you're opening the newest copy of it by going to your Applications folder and opening it from there.
If you keep having trouble with opening it, please let us know what error you might be getting. QuickTime X will open with just a menu bar, then you can go to the file menu and choose to open any file you wanted to open, or choose one of the screen or audio recording options.

QuickTime does not work

I have QuickTime 7.4.1 running on my G3 OS Panther and on my iMac OS Tiger.
Whenever it plays a movie on the Ge all I get is the sound and no picture.
On my iMac OS Tiger it runs ok.
I once installed Flip for Mac but deleted it. I searched for Flip for mac on my G3 and could not find any references to it except for some:
flip.jpg, flipbtn.gif, Flippers.tif.

Hi Frank,
Try going to your HD/Library Folder/Internet Plugins and see if you have a QuickTime Plugin.webplugin folder there. If so, move this folder to the desktop. Try playing a QuickTime movie again and see if the video plays now. If not you can move this folder back to the Internet Plugins folder.
For future reference, questions concerning QuickTime can be placed in the QuickTime for Mac OS where there are many knowledgable users of the application there.

Weblogic Http Apache Plugin not working

Hi,
I have installed weblogic server 10.3 on WindowsXP Professional and Http Apache 2.2 is running on port 80. I followed the following document to configure the Apache plugin:

There is patch for the webserver(Apache Plugin),thats needs to be downloaded from Metalink,dont use the default plugin that comes with the weblogic 10.3 installtion.

How do I get a virtual lab to work on this computer. The technician said the CD is not compatible. Maybe corrupt. He seemed he did not know
what he was talking about. I asked him was it any software I could download he said no. This CD works fine on my other computer, no it is not an apple computer. And I use quicktime on both computers. But on this apple computer quicktime does not play this CD, which this type
of CD works better with quicktime. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem. This is a new computer, I would hate to think their is nothing that can be done.

I need step by step instructions on how to get my virtual lab cd to work. The technician said cd not compatible or is corrupt. I do not believe their is nothing that can be done. When I put the cd in the side slot nothing comes up on the screen. I have tried several ways, the technician did not seem very knowledgeable on what to do. Android plugin not working in Eclipse on Arch 64bit

Hi, I'm having some trouble getting the android plugin to work. I know there are a lot of similar threads about this on this forum and google but nothing seems to work. I have installed Eclipse 4.2 through pacman. I removed openJDK and installed Oracle's jdk/jre.
java -version:
java version "1.7.0_06"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_06-b24)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.2-b09, mixed mode)
I manually edited Eclipse's ini file to find the jre:
-vm
/opt/java/jre/bin/java
I did this before logging out or rebooting. And Eclipse would open ok and use the jre/jdk. I Then tried to install the ADT plugin and it would install without problem. I rebooted Eclipse but there were no signs of the plugin. No android project creation or android preferences. The plugin shows listed as installed.
I then tried downloading android-eclipse from AUR and rebooted. But Eclipse looks the same.
I have no idea what could be wrong here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have same problem but not able to solve it.
I was running elcipse 3.7.x with ADT plugin without problems.
after eclipse update to 4.2.1 I am not able to use ADT. Eclipse is saying that it is installed but could not find anything from it in enviroment.
I did reinstall eclipse and eclipse-emf eclipse-gef eclipse-wtp and follow http://developer.android.com/sdk/instal … g-adt.html but not sucess. Later I did find this https://developers.google.com/eclipse/d … clipse-4.2 but it is still same. ADT is installed but cannt use it.
I am using openjdk
pacman -Qs jdk
