  • OS Status error -9459 when exporting slideshow

I've put together a 17 minutes slideshow in iPhoto using the scrapbook theme. I've received this error twice now - once when using the default "display" size export to mp4 and a different time when using a more customized export to .mov using no compression.
After the first error, I rebooted and the export worked. I am trying a reboot again to see if I can export again with the new settings.
Anyone know why I'm getting this error and what it means?
    "The operation couldn't be completed.
    (OSStatus error -9459.)"

You may have a damaged library. Try the following: backup and launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed to rebuild the library. Select the last three options.
This topic has considerable discussion on that particular error message and possible fixes: Error 9459 Potential Fix
Also Apearl reported in this topic, http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11195681#11195681, setting the Energy Saver to never sleep would avoid that error message when exporting the slideshow. Not a fix, but a workaround.
Also if you search the iPhoto forum for 9459 you'll find many more topics covering the problem and some potential fixes.

As a guess, try right-clicking on your Event and see if it allows you to Optimize Media. If it does, choose Optimize - Full.
    Your export should now work.

I just bought Quicktime Pro key but when I go into system preferences, quicktime icon is not there

Thanks for the answer, but that doesn't answer the question why the icon whether it's QT Player or QT Pro is not appearing in system Pereferences. I have a MacBook running OS X 10.7.4 and there isn't an a QT icon in system preferences.
By the way, what is QuickTime X Pro? I recently purchased QT 7 Pro.

  • Error -1309 when exporting 720 resolution (Quicktime format)

Any insight on why I keep getting error -1309 when I try to export at higher definitions? First of all, it consumes my computer for 6 hours (for a 20 minute video)! But then I come back and I've been knocked out...have to start all over again!

50G on the computer, have tried to output / write to the internal hard drive and an external 500G hard drive. Same error keeps popping up.

  • Final Cut Pro X – error message when exporting project

    Hi,
When sharing a project to Master File I get an error message (error 1) – error occurred when creating frame (10387, 12723, 12836 and so forth).  I keep editing and cutting these ‘bad’ frames out (with the blade), but it keeps finding new error frames.  I originally found the bad frames as they were showing up green in the timeline. Now, I can't find any more green/bad frames, but the error messages keeps coming up.  The file shares to 29% and then stops.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue? How can I get rid of these error messages? How can I export (share the Master File) the project?
    Thanks,
    Alicia

Are you working 0n 10.0.9? If not, update FCPX and see whether that solves the problem.

  • Error 43 when exporting to a mov format

I added music (mp3) to a photo presentation (.mov). I could watch the combined show in Quicktime Player. However, when I tried to export the final output as a .mov file, I kept getting an Error 43 (missing file). I've uninstalled and reinstalled my Quicktime Pro but I'm still having the same problem.

    Hi,
As you correctly noticed the Error 43 is arguing due a non found file. I would suggest you to place a copy of the resources used in the new clip under the same folder (music and presentation) and then do a Save as from QT Pro file menu. That should create a new file with both resources correctly linked.
    Kind Regards,
    Javier

  • Looking for some help with an error message when exporting master file. I'm stuck and would even pay to get this sorted out!

Hey guys, I'm really in a bind here and need some urgent help tonite. I would even be willing to pay for some actual help and not some vague information that i may not be able to understand if we could do something via skype or some other way that would be much quicker than a message board. Of course I have to have the project done by tomorow . so I'm new to fcpx, but have succesfully exported 2 other projects. I've also ran into this predicament before (error message not allowing me complete export) and have been able to solve that by converting the files i imported off my camera (canon g20) to a different file type (prores).
so where I'm at now: i have a 13 min short, all shot on my canon g20, imported and converted to prores422 with the brorsoft video converter with all the shots in a single event in fcpx. i'm using fcpx version 10.0.08. I have one main video track in my timeline that is completely full of very fast edits. (all quick 2-5 second clips, sped up shots in 2x, 4x, or 8x, tons of transitions, titles, and a little fx. theres 2 audio tracks, one is narration/speech and the other is an ongoing music track that constantly ducks everytime the subject speaks (tons of ducks/edits). Have you seen mtv cribs? Well i filmed an EXACT replica. So If you've seen one of those episodes, its literally the same exact same thing. I have all of my work completed, everything has been fully rendered, and i have it exactly as I want it.
I'm including all this information in case it may help. my successful projects ive exported in the past were rather simple, and this one is very complex and full of edits. here is what it looks like in the timeline:
Ive tried exporting the master file using almost all the different ways with no luck. My primary objective is to get it on youtube by any means by tommorow for a showing to a potential buyer (long story) and so I've been told using the h.264 is the best format for that. This, along with the other methods give me the same error message:
It think it gives this error message when i reach 24% everytime during export.
So first of all, what is that error message? Do i need to be concerned about the specifics of it, or is there something major that I'm missing? Like i said, i dont care how, but I need to get this video up on youtube tonite for an important viewing tomorrow. Conceptually, I think if i can figure this one out I shouldnt have any more trouble in the future doing something so basic, yet critical, such as exporting my 40+ hours of work for someone to see.
anyway, I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge with this software, and for my extremely long winded question which will probably have the opposite effect for me as most wont want to take the time to read all this, BUT i figured if i was as thorough as possible it might help actually getting a concrete answer, instead of a "read the manual, exporting is on page 37." or "use the share button on the right of the timeline then just click export master file and it will work everytime."
Cheers everybody, and thank you. Like i said if someone is up, and willing to talk via skype, phone, messanger or any other method that works for you I would be totally down and will compensate you generously for your time. thanks again.
    Taphabit

boom! that advice was correct and worked. i was able to export the full project as a quicktime movie and it can be uploaded to youtube.
NOTE, theres is definately quite a few noticeable audio glitches/lags/pops that werent there before doing this. I believe, and will test to make sure, that having a project such as this one needs to render before exporting. I'm not sure if the advice requires the project to be unrendered before exporting for a specific reason, because if it will export fine after rendering the project that's the way to go. like i said the edited version i have in my timeline plays back perfectly but this exported version has quite a few noticeable audio glitches (a few video glitches too). I'm going to retry doing the first few steps of your advice, but then at the end render, then export and compare the results...
OK, so this leads to a big question, Is this something that is standard for everyone when trying to export? If its not, what causes this error?
is there any way of preemptively avoiding it in future projects?
thanks again, and hopefully this information will help others as exporting seem to be one of the biggest problems in fcpx. any word on a new patch or firmware update?

  • Error message when exporting to qt, Please Help!!

I am getting file I/O error message when trying to export a 52 minute wedding project to quicktime. I tried different quictime settings, but nothing helps. Please hep me out with this issue it is driving me crazy.
    Thanks

Ok, I have trashed my final cut preferences, I checked and my external hard drive is set to mac osx extended. I ran disk utility, I exported to quicktime movie using current settings with movie self contained checked and I get the error message right away. Then I did it without self contained checked and it goes to 21% and I get the error message. Everytime it says this: File I/O error, that is all it says. What does this mean? What can I do next? I have a deadline for this project. I have alot of memory left on my external hard drive. This has never happened before. Thanks for all your help guys.

  • Quicktime Pro locks up when trying to save a movie

I can't save movies built in Quicktime Pro. I consistently get this message when I attempt to save: "There is no disk in drive. Please insert a disk into drive. \device\harddisk2\dr2."
I have to exit the program to get the dialog box to close. I uninstalled QuickTime, then downloaded the most current version. I've add my QT Pro registration #. All of that went fine.
I'm trying to save the file to my hard drive, which has plenty of space. But I also put a DVD into that drive just in case, but it makes no difference.
I'm importing about 1900 images to produce the movie- its a time lapse sequence. The files are small jpegs. The movie play fine until I try to save it.
    I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jacumba- Actually the problem was not even related to a hard drive. When working with another video I realized that the one giving me problems had parentheses in the name. I had to rename all of the images since the sequence starting in the 9800's and went beyond 10,000, at which point my Canon camera begins the renumbering at 0001. So to get the sequence to play correctly, I renumbered them and the name format was:  (1 of 1900).
Once I deleted the parentheses, I was able to save the file.
The error message was very unhelpful in resolving my problem. I have no idea what "device\harddisk2\dr2" means either- I didn't create the text for the error message.
