Quicktime Pro exporting to WMV -- only exports 30 seconds?

Have 7.6.6 PRO and am exporting to WMV. But I only get 30 seconds of video? Any ideas?

I am having a problem with this as well. In Quicktime Pro, when I try and export a 4:49 length .mov into a .wmv, it will only give me 4.30. Why would it cut me off? At first I thought maybe the machine hic-upped or something during the conversion but I have attempted it several times and no matter what I do, I can only get 4:30 in length.
I have Quick Time Pro and Flip4Mac WMV Studio Pro HD and have spent hours going through the FAQ’s and discussion forums on both sites and can’t find anything about a time constraint once you have purchased the “paid” versions......HELP

    Hi Jon,
Try placing your curser in the middle and click on that page a few times. Often this will make it available for editing.
Let me know if that works!

  • Quicktime Pro 7.6.2 = SAVING EXPORT SETTINGS in the Settings List...

    Hello,
I do most of my compressions right out of Quicktime Pro 7.6.2. It's fast / it's easy / it does a great job. On every one of my final compression jobs, there are 3 files I must compress:
    * H.264 / 1280 x 720 / 29.97 / 8 mbps / Linear PCM audio
    * H.264 / 640 x 360 / 29.97 / 3 mbps / AAC audio
    * WMV / 1280 x 720 / 29.97 / 8 mbps / Uncompressed Audio
Currently, I have to change each set up (all settings) and export each individual file. There is no way to "SAVE SETTINGS" in Quicktime Pro...or is there? How can I save the settings??

I wish man. No plans right now, I have my 3rd baby coming in 13 days. Not to mention I have to spend $2000 on fixing my crawlspace.
I will be able to purchase my 50" Plasma soon.
AAAAAGGGGHHH!!! I SAID I DIDN'T WANNA GROW UP!!!! BUT IT HAPPENED ANYWAY!!!! (not yelling at you, just yelling at time, stupid time)
I do have a Intel Dual Core 2.16Ghz w/ 2GB RAM, 500GB HDD, will that get me by ewith FCP?
    Thanx,

  • QuickTime Pro 7 No Audio on Export

    Hello!
I've browsed the forum to see if my question has been asked before but didn't find anything.
This is what's happening. Out of 10 or so short clips (about 1 min) I made one 10 minute clip for youtube, by copying and pasting all of the clips toghether. So far so good, I have my 10 minute movie with audio and video. The problem comes when I try to export it from movie to quicktime movie format...only the first couple of mintues have sound, afterwards it's a silent movie, no audio can be heard.
When I've pasted only 3 or 4 clips together everything's been fine. This is the first time I paste so many vids together.
All the clips were recorded on the same camera and are of the same format.
Hope you can help me out.
    Cheers,
    Santiago.

My camera gives me movies in MPEG1 Muxed format. I have good video AND audio. But, when i try to downsize these movies by export or share (within QT Pro), there is no audio settings allowed. So i get smaller sized movies with NO AUDIO!MPEG-1 employs interspersed blocks of audio and video data in a single data stream for spatial synchronization. QT is temporally synchronzed "frame-to-frame" audio and video. These are two different technologies. Basically, this means that QT only supports MPEG-1 movies for playback -- not editing and conversion. Use a third-party MPEG based converter like MPEG Streamclip (free) to convert these file and retain audio.

  • Quicktime Pro hang on Apple TV export

The file is correctly reproduced in Quicktime Pro but the application hang when I try to export it as Apple TV. Document -> Export -> From Movie to Apple TV.
Could someone help me investigating the problem?

No, the AppleTV was not designed to do that.

  • Can Quicktime Pro convert to .wmv?

That's pretty much it in a nutshell!
I have made some movies through iMovie, but need to have them in Windows Media Viewer format as well for use on our website, can Quicktime Pro do this?
Or can I do this through iMovie?
Most of the reviews on the Quicktime Pro website are against the software, but go on about iPods more than anything.
    Thanks all.

There is also Popwire's $39 WMV-9 Export Component.
    http://www.popwire.com/productinfo.php?cPath=1&productsid=7&osCsid=a75e8c617669a7584718d34bc11a9b5f
Flip4Mac offers more export options at a higher price however Flip4Mac is also suffering from problems due to its use of the eSellerate authorization system. If you have any other software that uses eSellerate, consider going with Popwire's software instead (which does not use eSellerate.)
Other options are available as stand-alone programs such as Cleaner 6

    And Compression Master

  • Exporting mp4 to WMV - only 30 seconds transfers

I am a new QT Pro user (version 7).
I need to convert some files to WMV. I have several files normally in the range of 2 minutes each. When I convert the file to WMV the clip only ends up being 30 seconds long.
    Any ideas / thoughts?

The trial mode of the Flip4Mac component only allows 30 second exports to WMP formats.
http:flip4mac.com and purchase one of the upgrades for this third party software.
WMP exports are not part of the standard QuickTime install and are only enabled by that third party software.

I exported mov files from Final Cut. But Quicktime won't play them.
Have installed some 3rd party Codecs but no joy.
What do you think is the problem?

I exported mov files from Final Cut. But Quicktime won't play them.
What audio and video compression formats did you use? Are you trying to play them back on the same computer or a different one?

  • QuickTime Pro For Mac Hangs When Exporting, Small BlankWindow Appears!

I am trying to export a movie file with the following settings:
    VIDEO:
    Compression: H.264
    Quality: High
    Key Frame rate: 24
    Bitrate: 4000 kbits/sec
    Frame recording: yes
    Encoding mode: multi-pass
    Dimensions: 480x360
    SOUND:
    Format: AAC
    Sample Rate: 44.100 kHz
    Channels: Mono
    Bit rate: 128 kbps
When I try to export a file, regardless of setting, it hangs up and I must force quit. I get the "Spinning Beach Ball" and nothing is export also no progress window just a blank small window,I'm using QT version 7.4.5 on "Tiger"ver.10.4.11.
After staying up all night trying to figure out the problem, I gave up and just used an older version of QuickTime ver. 7.2 which worked just fine.
Thanks for any help with this issue.

    Yes.

  • Making music videos, QuickTime Pro likes to pause for a second.

I'm making music videos, and some times at the start of the video, or where I add other video to the .mov file, the video likes to pause for 1/4th to a second, then the video like jerks forward to where it should be, while the audio is playing the way it should.
Is there any way to keep this from occuring?
    Example (3 megs.)

Your data rate for the video is 4.5 times of what it should be (9240 kbits/s). Try using 2000 kbits/s for the video data rate.
Here are some other factors that can make the video sluggest along with the above:
    1) The dimensions of the video is 849x406. The height and width of the video should be divisible by, 16 for best... or 8 for better... or 4 for good. This can effect the encoding (always does) or playback of the video.
    Here read this article: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/apps/flvbitrate_calculator/videosizes.html
Even tho the above article is for Flash it also applies to h.264.
    2) The audio is mp3, this isn't h.264 complient. AAC audio is... I would change the audio encoding to AAC.
    3) And lastly...what program did you use to encode this video with?
I'm glade you supplied a short video. Most people don't. See if next time you can supply at least ten seconds. Thirty second would be the bomb!
I took your video and copy/pasted it to lengthen it to 13 seconds. Encoded with Apple's Compressor...h.264....2000 kbits/s...audio ACC 128 kbits/s... dimensions 848x400
    http://www.setfreedenver.org/DemoA/pause_demoA.html
There still is some jerkiness. This is inherent from the footage you supplied.

  • Quicktime Pro doesn't hold audio levels when exporting (or "sharing").

I just upgraded to Quicktime Pro for one reason only: to add my music to an exsisiting video (that has it's own embedded dialog track) and posting to a webpage for review. Adding my music is easy. Setting the level of my music is easy. Saving and reopening with everything intact is easy. The problem is when exporting to another format. I've been choosing the preset called "Braodband Medium". It's the h.264 codec and AAC audio etc...
After the export, my music level has been "bumped up" to 100% - drowning out the dialog track. I've tried it on 3 different Macs with the same result. Does anyone else have this problem? It seems like a glaring problem that needs fixing.

    Confirmed.
Export your original two track file to your required settings (Broadband Medium), add (scaled to selection) your second audio track, make the volume setting adjustments (Movie Properties window) and Save As.
QuickTime files can have up to 99 tracks.

  • Export H264 pass-through movie with embedded text track QuickTime Pro 7 Windows?

Using QuickTime Pro 7 for Windows, I add a text track with closed captions to my H264 .mp4 videos.
The text track works great until I try to export it.  After I've added the text track, the text track is displayed as long as the track is selected to be active using the Movie Inspector track GUI.
My movies are encoded as H264 for cross-platform compatibility, and need to remain in this format.  The only way to save them in QuickTimePro 7 for Windows is to Export Movie to MPEG-4.  I select Pass-Through mode to retain the resolution and bandwidth parameters that I initially encoded the video with.
Unfortunately, after I export to MPEG-4, the caption track is lost.  It disappears.  When I open the newly exported MPEG-4 caption file, and select Movie Inspector, the caption track is missing.  Inspector only shows video and audio tracks.
If QuickTime Pro 7 for Windows correctly exported my text track with the video and audio tracks, then users would be able to view the closed captions upon playback in QuickTime Player by selecting View--> Show Closed Captioning (Ctrl+Alt+T).
Anyone been able to export to MPEG-4 pass-through movie with embedded text track QuickTime Pro 7 Windows?
    Thank you!

  • Exporting to .mp4 file using QuickTime Pro

Rather than use the Movie to iPod preset in QuickTime pro, I would like to export an .avi file to a .mp4 file using Movie to MPEG-4. I would like the resulting file to be encoded using h.264 video and to be 640 X 480. I want one file that I can include as an enclosure in the rss feed for my podcast that can be downloaded and played in both iTunes and on an iPod. So far, I have been able to create a .mp4 file that plays in iTunes/QuickTime but not on an iPod.
Would someone with experience in this please tell me which settings to use in the MPEG-4 export settings dialogue so that I get a file that can be played on the iPod.
    The options are:
    File Format (I chose mp4)
    dropdown (I chose video)
    Video Format (I chose H.264)
Data Rate (I know it's important that this not be too high but don't know what to put.)
Optimize For (download is the only choice for this option)
Image Size (I chose 640X480 VGA)
Preserve Aspect Ratio checkbox (My original video is 720X480. I don't think I should check this. I want to change the pixel aspect ratio to square pixels.)
using dropdown box (Letterbox, crop, fit within size) (only active when Preserve Aspect ratio is checked)
Framerate (I chose 29.97, which is the frame rate on the original .avi file)
Keyframe ( I set this to every 15 frames)

Thanks. I was aware of that information. But still am stuck on using QuickTime Pro to come up with a usable .mp4 file for the iPod. I think I am using the right settings, but it's still not working. That's why I included a lot of detail about the specific options in my question. Hopefully, there's someone out there who has used QuickTime Pro for this.

  • Export PDF converts ONLY PART of PDF to excel - first table skipped, second table OK

A single PDF contains two tables (income and expense) but Export PDF converts ONLY the second table and completely ignores the first table.  (The two tables may actually be parts of one larger table, but in that case it is the first part which is ignored.)

    Hi dgoldh,
Do you know how the PDF was created? (Choose File > Properties, and check the Description tab. It may be that the PDF was created by a third-party application and doesn't contain the proper data to ensure a clean conversion.
