Quicktime pro not playing video

I am attaching 2 desk top files so you can see what is happening.When I try to play the file. I get the audio and 1 inch X 3 inch video black rectangle
The clip is large almost 40 gig and all running on a Dell i7 windoze 7 pro machine...
Any guesses???

Quicktime 7 not playing videos from Itunes...

So recently I noticed my Quicktime 7 has been acting strange. It used to play all my videos flawlessly... it still does, although i've noticed movies bought from the itunes store wont play anymore. When I try to open the file on QT 7 I get the black screen but then It exits out and I get the "Quicktime 7 Has Quit Unexpectedly" and I get the Kern_Protection_Failure log ( whatever that is) It's weird, before every file i tried worked perfectly, but now I cant get them to play.... Is There any fix to this or has Quicktime 7 completely stopped supporting movies/videos from Itunes? ******Oh, by the way They DO however play in Quicktime X****** I''m running 2009 macbook pro 13-inch OSX 10.6.8 and All software is up to date. It's getting frustrating. I've looked all over but no luck. Any Help Would be appreciated. Thanks

Every video file I view on QT looks like this:

It happened when I updated it a few weeks ago. Now I cant get rid of the problem. I tried uninstall and reload but to no avail.
The sound plays but no video....
Any ideas?

What's really puzzling is that while playback of video podcasts is appallingly sluggish within iTunes (v7.3.2.6), if I browse to the relevant .m4v files and play them back in QuickTime or Media Player Classic they are as smooth as silk.
All of which suggests the problem is nothing to do with codecs, or DirectX, or HDD access speeds or any of the other things Apple is bandying about, but is simply due to processor overheads within iTunes itself.
iTunes has always been a bit of a resource hog and the problems that can cause have manifested themselves in various ways over the years, but I'm amazed Apple don't seem to be addressing these issues especially now that it involves visual media that customers have actually paid for. When people start talking of voting with their cash surely something needs to be done?
Even more stunning is the fact that many Mac users seem to be suffering similar -- if not necessarily related -- problems with iTunes. For ages I put the problems with Windows iTunes down to Apple programmers' lack of experience with PC architecture, but these days I'm not too sure.

Quicktime still not playing videos

After installing the Quicktime security update on 7/16/07 Quicktime played only audio , not video in Safari, and Q? with Foxfire (apple.com/trailers). I tried the suggestions on this forum for reinstalling Flash 9, and Qt7.2, and changing the settings in system preferences. Today tried the Perian install. Nothing has worked/changed. Will Apple be sending a fix of rthe security update?

I have a similar and possibly related problem - since installing the QT sec update, I can no longer get the QT player to play back avi files (running 10.4.10).
QT Player just hangs before the window appears ("not responding") and has to be killed using Force Quit (or Actvity Monitor).
I'm not sure if it's QT/QTP, or Flip4Mac's WMV, but I haven't seen any recent updates from F4M (for WMV, that is). But I don't think this is a Flash related stuff-up.
Additional info: the same avis won't open using MPEG Streamclip 1.8, but will run using VLC 8.8.6-bugfix.
Still, jolly annoying, at any bit-rate.

The files seem to play fine on other computers. Have also found out that I can play downloand or streamed videos (only audio).
Can't figure out why video won't play. Other video formats (.avi for example) play fine through Windows Player.
Any insight? . . . anyone?

Sorry for this question. Can you use this device with Vlc or QuickTime? Does skype support it? Is this device supported only by its own software?
I need a device that can work with my own software. My software can work only with a QuickTime supported device.

Safari does not play video off web pages

When ever I try to view a .mov, or mpeg, the viewer freezes on the first image, but the audio track continues to play. The movies play fine on other computers using QTP and Safari. Funny thing, is that in Safari, the movies do not play, yet they play fine on other computers, using Safari (1.3.2). The videos play fine on my computer, though only in Firefox. They play fine in iTunes, also.
So, why is this happening? Quicktime app not playing movies, now Safari not playing movies from websites (movies I have made)? There has to be a connection.
I have set up another user, and the problem still exists. I have tried reinstalling Quicktime, but problem still exists.

Good you isolated the problem.
I suggest removing the Quicktime components from your system (leave the codecs in the /Library/Quicktime folder alone), including the Quicktime Player in the applications folder and plug-ins from the Internet Plug-ins Folder. Leave the preference file alone as it contains your QT Pro registration info. Then reinstall QT. "repair permissions" after the install.

I'm sorry, I didn't explain myself correctly. I was referring to watching a video on the iPod. It is really annoying when the video freezes momentarily, and the audio continues to play smoothly, but by the time the video catches up, you have lost several frames of your video. You know what I mean? Really annoying...

How can you "watch" a video while you are scrolling
around in your menus? There is only one screen on my
iPod and I can only use it to watch videos OR scroll
through menus. When I press the menu button while
watching a video, the iPod goes back to the previous
menu. Then, when I go back to the video, it starts
back exactly where it was when I pressed the menu
button in the first place. Apparently, it pauses
while you are looking through the menu screens. Now
with music, I understand what you're saying but I
haven't had any stuttering or anything while browsing
the menus. The video is a bad example because it

Help major issue, quicktime will not play my HDV movie?

I have a major problem here.
I have a movie i shot and edited when I was at university using Final cut pro and HDV cams.
I need to show this movie on my macbook pro, but I purchased final cut express, and have just found out my Quicktime does not play this file.. the screen is just black?
I assume I need a HDV 1080i50 codec for quicktime??? is this correct?
Where can I get it?
I intend to give a presentation was going to use OpenOffice or use my Quicktime just for moving image

You were given a video that can only play in Final Cut Pro. Final Cut Express doesn't have that codec.
You going to have to go back to whom ever gave you that video and have them export the video to a codec that either Final Cut Express can play or a codec that Quicktime can play.The later would be better because, if a video can play in Quicktime it can play in Final Cut Express.

After updating to windows 8.1 iTunes will not play video

I recently updated to Windows 8.1 but since i have my iTunes will not play video i previously downloaded from the iTunes store. The video will play in QuickTime without issue though, please help

sorry it's not my apple id. it's my icloud email/account. after i updated to ios 8.1.2 my icloud acct on my phone is wrong. it's using my old college email address instead of my current icloud account email. my old college email address *used* to be my apple id, but i changed my apple id to my gmail account a few months back. anyway i can't "sign out" or delete the icloud account bc it thinks my college email address is my icloud account and it keeps asking for the password. so i'll type in the current password for my icloud account and it says it's wrong and i need to retry or change the password, which i've already done twice and nothing changes. probably bc its asking for the password associated with the college email address it thinks is my icloud acct.
i can access icloud on my desktop without a problem... make any sense? do i have to restore my phone now or is there a solution? i've wasted the last 2 days trying to figure this out. i can't send or receive emails on my iphone bc of this. which really ***** for work.

I understand while viewing a video or listening to some different content, you lose audio, is that correct? I will do all I can to assist you with this issue.
Does the issue occur when you have headphones inserted? If you are not sure, if you have a set of headphones available could you test that please?

When you run the uninstaller, it will uninstall all Flash Player versions.
If you want to revert to an older version after that, get it from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

IPhoto '08 would not play videos in Mavericks 10.9.1

I upgraded to Mavericks 10.9.1 and my iPhoto '08 (v7.1.5) would not play video anymore. Is there a software compatibility problem?
