Quicktime Pro won't import image sequencee

I have QuickTime 7 Pro on my Mac. I am trying to load a large image sequence. It never loads. I have tried shortening the file names, no spaces. I have tried different types like Jpg. vs. Tiff. nothing seems to help. It just freezes and I have to quit out of it. Any ideas? It works on my desktop but not on my laptop. I have already had my laptop replaced as Apple said it was a hard drive issue, but it is now happening on my new laptop. So it cannot be a hard drive issue.
Thanks,

Try the following:
System Preferences>Quicktime>Advanced
Click on the MIME Settings button.
In the next window that opens up make sure that click on the triangle next to Images - Still image files.
Make all items are enabled (checked) except for PDF Image.
Click the OK button.
Restart your computer.
==============
Take a look in your Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder - if you see any QT plugins or webplugins file there, remove them to the desktop or trash.
Restart your computer.

Are you trying to view JPG files from a browser or from your HD? Asking because most browsers have a +"file helper"+ preference. For Firefox, it's under the Applications Preferences. There, you can select which type of files you can map to the QT browser plug-in.

  • HT4101 The SD card reader won't import images to the iPad. I purchase 10 months ago, and haven't had a problem with it until today. How do I remedy this problem? I'm about the go out of town and prefer not a travel with my laptop.

My SD card reader won't import images from the SD card. I purchased this product 10 months ago and have had no problem with it up to now. How do I remedy this problem. Using the product allows me to travel without a laptop ...Please help!

Have you tried to give your device a reset? Sometimes that helps with glitches. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.
ALso, the card reader will only see files that are formatted correctly. If you just took the images from your computer and put them onto the card, then it won't work. They have to follow a strict naming convention. There has to be a folder named DCIM on the card and then all those images have to have a file name of exactly 8 characters, DSC_3857 for example. Your camera makes this naming structure but if you manually put the photos on that card you may not have replicated it.
Is this a card you've used before? If it's a new card and is empty then the iPad won't read it. Also if it's SDXC it won't read those either (XC cards use a file structure that the iPad can't decipher)

  • A/V tweaks made in quicktime pro won't appear when imported to imovie

I have a file I pulled from the internet, tweaked the sound and color in Quicktime Pro and saved the file (tried both .mov and mp4) but when I try to import file into imovie or export file from Quicktime to imovie the movie file does not have the adjustments I made in Quicktime.
The file will play the same way as the original I pulled from internet.
    Notes:
Quicktime will open and play the new file with tweaks as saved.
I have burned the tweaked Quicktime file to a disk, given it to some to try in their computer and the file plays without the tweaks.
I would really appreciate any help you may have!
    Thanks!

The A/V "tweaks" are local to the QT player -- not embedded in the movie file. If you plan to edit in iMovie, make your adjustments in iMovie. If simply converting the content from one compression format to another, use an application like MPEG Streamclip (free) to make such adjustments.

  • Quicktime Pro won't recognize my video camera.

The video camera is attached to the computer via Firewire. I checked and the computer recognizes that the camera is attached by Firewire.
I'm trying to transfer already-shot video from the video camera into Quictime Pro, but when I turn on the camera and play the video and click the NEW MOVIE RECORDING link in Quictime - I get a message "NO RECORDING DEVICE FOUND".
Does anyone know what I have to do to get Quicktime Pro to recognize the video camera?
    Thanks

When I import the video into iMovie, iMovie squashes the widescreen video into a rectangle with the dimensions of a TV screen, and there doesn't seem to be any way to turn it back into a distortion-free widescreen image.
I would upgrade iMovie (from 3.03), but Apple doesn't seem to sell the upgrade anymore (not that will work in OS X 10.3.9.)
I have Quicktime Pro and iMovie and I can't get the video out of my camcorder and into my computer.

  • Elements 10 Won't import images

I upgraded from Elements 6 to 10 last week. The problem is that suddenly my images won't import. I plug in the camera and it begins the process, I see 4 thumbnail images show up, then the rest of the thumbnails after that just display an hourglass image. The whole process seems to start, then lock up. But if I try to  import the same images from the same camera with my old computer using Elements 6, there is no problem at all, and all of the images import. Even tho I just upgraded to 10 recently, is there an update or fix for Elements 10 I need to go looking for?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
It maybe the way I'm reading your posts but are you saying that you were using PSE 6 on the Windows 7 system or did you change system and PSE 6 to 10 at the same time?
I don't have a T1 but I have tried it with an 40D and it seemed to work OK. Have you tried turning off the advanced "Get" options like red eye fix? If windows can transfer the photos then it must be something extra that PSE is doing. Perhaps doing a catalog optimise may help.
I'm afraid that I'm one of those that use a card reader to download the photos.

  • Lightroom CC won't import images

I just upgraded to lightroom CC from lightroom 5 and it won't import my images.  It shows a preview of them, but when I click import is says "importing images" but it never does and just sits like that.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Here is a series of things to try to isolate where the issue might be, obviously do an Import after each time you change things, so you know what is affecting the Import:
Presumably you've rebooted, but if not, or try it, again, this time actually shutting down so the power is off for a few seconds then turn it back on.
Does it work to import if you open EOS_DIGITAL in the Files section, not the Devices section?
Freezing (of LR6) suggests something incompatible is plugged into a USB port, somewhere.  It could be the camera or it could be a phone charging or who knows what.  Unplug everything except the camera/card-reader and try it.
If it does work, then plug things in one-by-one to see which one was causing the issue, and then unplug it, again, to verify it was the problem.
If it doesn't work with the card-reader or camera attached, then use an OS utility to copy the files to a temporary location on the hard-drive and see if things work better importing from there.
All this might be enough to determine the cause.  Other things you can try if you want would be:
    Try without converting to DNG.
Try copying all the files on the card to a folder on the system hard drive using an OS function like Finder or Explorer, then format the card in the camera including a low-level format, then copy the files back to the card.

  • Quicktime pro won't install

Upon downloading and installing, my 10.5.8 system restarts, then there is no evidence of Quicktime Pro on my machine.
    Multiple tries, same result.
    Downloading again doesn't help.
    Why won't this puppy install?

There is no such thing as a QuickTime pro download.
QuickTime Player is already installed on your machine. You enable to Pro features by entering the registation info you got in the email confirmation.

  • Quicktime Pro won't open an MPEG movie file with the Quicktime icon

What am I missing? Not getting? I have several MPEG movie files that proudly sport the Quicktime icon, but the Quicktime app tells me they're not movie files.
If Quicktime won't open them, is there conversion software I can use?
    So much for productivity.

Didn't even consider it. I thought that because the file displayed the Quicktime icon and because I have Quicktime Pro, that Quicktime would play the file.
Unfortunately, this is a common misconception. However, now that you understand the problem, you can work on a solution. Basically, if by MPEG your are referring to common MPEG-2/MP2 content 'multiplexed" to an MPEG container, these can be played in the QT Player (or Front Row or iTunes) if you install the QT MPEG-2 Playback component ($19.99). However, be advised that this is a video only component, so it does not make "muxed" AC3 MPEG-2 files playback compatible with the QT player. Luckily, if you do decide to install this component, the free MPEG Streamclip application will allow you to play or convert such files to any QT compatible audio and video format for which you system is configured. Or, if all you want to do is play MPEG-2 video files without investing in the QT component, then you can view them with VLC but may have trouble converting them to a QT compatible format. HandBrake will also convert them without investing in the MPEG-2 component, but greatly limits your conversion possibilities. I personally would recommend buying the component as Neil recommended since it offers the greatest flexibility for playing without conversion, as well as, the most conversion options for all normal MPEP-2 Program and Transport Stream files you are likely to encounter using QT 7 Pro and/or MPEG Streamclip depending on the specific source content what you want to do with the final files.

  • Can Quicktime Pro version 7 import the WMV video files?

With my previous Quicktime Pro version 6, I couldn't import the .wmv files. Is there any enhancement on Quicktime Pro version 7 to support .wmv files import?

QT 7 still doesn't import .wmv files. There are some plug-ins for Mac systems but so far no one has mentioned any for Windows. Since sometimes people with Macs post in this group (and you don't list your platform in your message) I will include a link to one of the companies that makes such plug-ins for Mac:

  • DVD studio Pro won't import .mov files

Ask this on the Final Cut Studio forum.

  • QuickTime Pro won't load to Snow Leopard

I own QuickTime Pro. By virtue of owning Final Cut Studio.
But it doesn't work right on my newly Snow Leopard-ized 8 core tower.
I download QT 7 from the QTP page, but it won't install because:
"QuickTime can't be installed on this disk. This version of
QuickTime 7 can't be installed on this disk because
QuickTime X is already present. Please use Software
Update to install the appropriate version of QuickTime
    for your Mac."
    %$#@!!
The "QuickTime Player 7" menu item isn't the same as on other Macs. It doesn't show a "QuickTime Preferences" item, only a "Preferences" item, so many things can't be done with it.
Registration shows three blank lines but "Apple Pro Apps User" in small type at the bottom.
Even though it announces itself as QuickTime Player 7, it does most things that QuickTime Pro has always done, but I can't even update it with a fresh install, it seems.
I don't care at all for QuickTime X, but it seems intent on blocking my way.
    How to get around it?

That version fails to show the "QuickTime Preferences" item in the drop down menu that includes "Preferences," which was my reason behind trying to update it.
Yes, it was replaced by the single registration option which no longer accesses the system preferences window.
Its QTPro features seem to work, but I can't, for instance, select Kiosk mode through any of the current menu items... Am I stuck until Apple brings out a non-interim version? They've had a year...
Haven't tried using it lately, but the "Kiosk" option is still available as a QTL file option if you can use a QTL file for whatever you want to do.

  • QuickTime Pro won't let me save a file from a website

I have QuickTime Pro 7.0 Normally I can right click a link in Mail and select, "Download linked file" and it will allow me to save an MP3. Not this time. Other times, once actually on a website, I can click on the button on the web based version of QuickTime and save a local copy. However, I can't do that on this website:
    http://survive2thrive.gsradio.net:8080/120309.mp3
    Does anyone know why?
    Thanks!

    Copy the URL.
In Safari open the download window (Cmd-Opt-L)
    Paste.
    OR
Paste the URL in the Addressfield
Option-Return and the file will download.
