Quicktime's trim tool doesn't stay after converting video

I had a bunch of mpg files that I only needed a portion of in Final Cut. Because that format doesn't work in FCP, I needed to convert them
To save time, I used the trim function on quicktime to just get the bits I needed. However, I noticed that after converting the MPGs to DV PAL, they reverted back to their original length. I tried a couple of other formats and the same thing happened. Can anyone help?

I just tried to use QuickTime to trim mp4 video clips, after trimming I can expoted video clips to iTune or
other folders. Somehow my quicktime could not play mpeg video directly, so I need to user other software (
Wondershare video conveter) to first convert mpeg video to mp4 format, then use QuickTime to trim mp4 video clips.

QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, when you convert videos in iTunes to iPod format they only show the video and no sound since iTunes (really QuickTime) is not looking for the audio track within the video track and it gets lost.

Magnetic lasso tool doesn't work after installing Adobe extension manager update

Hi , I've just installed Extension Manager Update 6.0.5.9 yesterday and today I've get a wired problem with my bambo tablet.I've used this tablet for 3-4 years without problem. The problem I've now is when I drag lasso tool on an image to make selection it doesn't make a selection even it is showed in the history state that I've used lasso,or magnetic lasso. My machine is a Mac Pro 2010,Quad-Core Intel Xeon running on Lion 10.7.5 and my bamboo driver is the latest version 5.3.2-2. Even now I've change to use freeform path I've still cannot change form path to selection.

And that makes sense, but what if I want them to stay just a bit longer, they also disappeared in other occasions, perhaps due to a different reason. Is there a way to prevent this?
Also, my normal brush size shows cursor only. OKed preferences>cursors, relaunched PS, nothing changed. Diameter is in the medium numbers.

I tryed that just in case, considering that there was no CMYK involved, removING layers masks (curve and levels) before the conversion, and the layers were completly gone after Adobe RGB 1998> sRGB, again. And what would be the purpose of keeping the layers anyway, if the masks are gone? I mean, the layers effects stay, here is just a matter of finetuning the masked areas, so you need the masks too.
So do you people mean that in CS4 is really not like that? So, at least SC4 is for something!
Anyway, that Adobe RGB 1998 was not a great idea to put in my camera anyway, I should not be in this situation anylonger in the future. Thnks everybody!

@c. yes, I oked normal brush tip. Having the cursor only happens rarely, but happens. Odd, isnt' it? Will watch for caps locked, but I can't be doing that all the time!

Good tool to use to compress & convert video?

Hi folks. I just started using iDVD 6 and I wanted to know what tool to use to compress video so I can fit more on my DVD that without compressing the files. Also, what do I use to convert my MPEGs to a usable AVI file? Thank you!

These MPEGs came from...where? iDVD likes digital video (.dv). Especially from a camcorder that uses MiniDV tapes.

Itunes crashing after Converting video

ok so im trying to convert some videos to put into my ipod touch, and the convertion gets about 3/4 the way done then it freezes and i get a blue screen saying "kernelstack_inpageerror" and then i have to restart my computer. if this cant be fixed is there any other way to convert my videos so i can put them into my ipod?

nvm apparently i dont need to convert the videos in order to get them to play in ipod yay i was worried i wouldn't be able to put the videos on my ipod!

Not syncing after converting videos for ipod

SOS...I have an elGato eyetv on my mac and I have a few videos captured from it (eyetv) that i intend to put on my iPhone. I read the iPhone manual re videos (chapter 6 ipod) and follewed the instruction on converting so I did the " Converting Videos to iPhone by going to Advanced> Convert Selection for iPod". It seems iTunes did indeed the convert.
My question is I just put my iphone on the dock to sync with itunes but it's not doing anything. It's been there over 15 mins but no prompts etc. It says SYNCING CONTACTS WITH *'S IPHONE forerver on the top field or status bar of itunes. The cord-like thing in it is moving. Meanwhile, phone says Sync in Progress. Prior to converting the videos, syncing had been flawless.

Opppsss, i talked too early. I'm not getting a sound from the converted videos. I now remember that sound has always been compromised converting to eyetv native format to QT. Is anyone familiar with eyetv? Your help would be more than welcome as to how I convert to mpeg WITH sound.

Assuming you are using OSX, connect iphone ny usb then go to system preferences. Go to network pane and scroll down to "wheel" and from the drop down select service order. If you see the iphone then drag it to the top of the list then select apply.

PEN TOOL DOESN'T WORK ANY MORE after PS 2014.2 update!

I just downloaded the latest Photoshop update. Pretty slick......adjustable fonts in the dropdown menus again.....nice guide improvements. One little problem....THE PEN TOOL DOESN'T WORK ANY MORE. The program is totally useless. What the h%+l is wrong with adobe? At least I can still use Photoshop CC. Anyone got a fix for this?

Roll tool doesn't bring up two up window revised

I have recently re-installed my FCP on and now I am having difficulty using the roll tool.
After placing 2 clips onto the timeline,trimming them down,working with only the video layer,I am trying to roll the edit at which time a two up window should appear to show me the relative position in both the outgoing and incoming clips, but it doesn't appear.
The manual tells me under the roll tool section that a two up window will appear but doesn't mention what to do if it doesn't.
Any help would be great,thank you kindly

This happens to me occasionally, and I just quit out of FCP and relaunch the application. Then I get my dual windows back.

The title says it all. I downloaded OS X Lion Server using my apple developer account? Will it stay after my 1 year enrolment is over? I basicaly signed in and redeemed a code to download OS X Lion Server. It is now in my purchased list in the Mac App Store. But I got it by redeeming a code that I got through being an Apple Mac Developer. I wanted to know if I decided not to pay $99 next year to renew my enrolment, will I still be able to keep OS X Lion Server in my purchased list in the Mac App Store. When I click on More Apps by Apple in the Mac App Store, it takes me to the page with all their apps. OS X Lion Server says it is installed. But I want to know if it will still be in the purchased menu after the enrolment is finished and not renewed.

I am a new Mac Developer. I checked the page you gave me and I think it's more to do with topics about programming and using the developer tools and pre-release software. I don't think my question relates to any of the topics there. OS X Lion Server has already been released and is available for the public. I was planning on buying it. But before I did that I wanted to become a developer. So I enrolled in the Mac Developer program and I went to download OS X Mountain Lion Developer Preview 2 when I realized that I could also download the already released OS X Lion Server which was available for $50. So instead of buying it from the Mac App Store, I just got the redemption code from the Mac Developer Center and downloaded it free of charge (I did pay the $99 to be a Mac Developer though). Now it has been added to the purchased list in the Mac App Store and when I click the More Apps by Apple button in the Mac App Store, it takes me to the page with all Apple apps. And now on that page it says that OS X Lion Server has been installed. I am just wandering if once my enrollment is over next year April, and I decide not to renew my enrolment, will I still be able to have the OS X Lion Server in my list of purchased apps and still be able to re-download it? Sorry if this is too long, but I am trying to be as clear as possible. Sometimes when I ask questions, I wait a whole day and go back there, only to find out that they didn't understand what I meant. Doesn't Search SWF and Magnify Tool doesn't work

I got the PDF to SWF thing down pat in Flashpaper. But It
doesn't search the text.
YES, the text is selectable, so why can't it search the text
of my swf. Also the Maginfying tool doesn't work in flashpaper.
I'm going to test a couple different things first such as
messing with the PDF in Acrobat Pro first to see if I need to do
something there in order to make the search function work.
I did notice there are barely any replies to this forum, but
GEE-WIZ guys somebody should answer some of these questions if you
know the answer.

I went back and checked out the Indesign file. Apparently
whoever made the catalog grouped alot of the text boxes. After I
ungrouped these I exported to PDF and opened it up to do a check.
Everything was searchable. There was something I toyed with in
Indesign referring to subfonts. However, when I convert it to an
swf using flashpaper it loses some of the searchable text. I got an
idea and printed to FP but instead of choosing FP once the window
came up I selected PDF. It is doing the same thing in the same
spots. Everything is selectable right now in the PDF I printed from
Indesign, I can even copy and paste the text perfectly into word.
There are no settings for FP so I am lost as to what to do from
here. I am using Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro, Indesign CS2 and FP 2
Any ideas?

Sirius Internet Radio doesn't work after Snow Leopard

Sirius Internet Radio doesn't work after I installed Snow Leopard. It works on my Firefox. I emptied the cache on my Safari, but still nothing. Any solutions?

The reason why Sirius Radio online won't work with Safari anymore is because Sirius radio online is only supported by a 32-bit browser. Snow Leopard and all its applications are 64-bit. The best solution is to use firefox. If you still insist on using safari..... Go to adobe.com reinstall adobe flash player. Install/update Flip4Mac. Go to setting for Flip4Mac and check off all the options under the browser tab. Then when you go into Sirius Radio online, you will get an error message, just click okay. Then when you click a station, a quicktime player will come up and you will be able to listen to sirius online radio.

Eyedropper tool doesn't work in Index Mode

When I am in Index mode, and I bring up the color table, the eyedropper tool doesn't work unless I right-click and choose one of the point sample averages. And even then, it doesn't always work unless I hit some combination of Shift-control-option-command. I'm still not sure what the combination is since it seems to differ a little depending on Photoshop's mood.
I can remember there was this problem a couple of versions back, and Adobe fixed it after about a year or so.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for the temporary solution. The is the same bug was in CS3 then fixed ic CS4. Now it's back in CS5.
I've only had this bug with Macs not PCs. "YES IT'S A BUG!" Question: Is there anybody from Adobe who reads this? Can someone at adobe please tell us when this Mac bug will be fixed? For a premium product at such a price, Photoshop shouldn't have a bug like this. Adobe should be more responsive! Think of the difficulty people like me who write textbooks must have. To give one technique for a PC and then a workaround technique for a MAC. I implore anyone who is experiencing this problem to contact Adobe & let them know about it!
