With Quicktime 7 Pro for Windows, is there a plug-in or add-on to have the screen recording capability?

Screen recording is not a feature of QuickTime Player 7 Pro (Mac or Windows).
QuickTime X (ten) is Mac only software that does include screen recording features.

  • No video recording capability in Quicktime 7 pro for windows

I'm unable to record a video files in Quicktime 7 pro for windows after inserting Registration key. It took the key and say I now have QT 7 pro but only allows me to record audio files no video. Calling apple support they wound up discovering that video recording was no longer possible with the Windows pro license. Really?

Video recording has never been a feature of QuickTime Player Pro for Windows. It's a Mac only feature.

  • Record audio file in a wav file format using QuickTime 7 Pro for Windows?

Is it possible to record audio file in a wav file format using QuickTime 7 Pro for Windows? The system I want to upload audio files that I record to requires they be in a wav file format / PCM - 112025kh / 8 bit mono / 11.05khz
Something tells me no...and I bought this upgrade for nothing...GRRRRRRR

QuickTime Pro for Windows allows you to make audio recordings from some input devices.
You can then "export" these new files to .wav format at any setting you choose.

  • When using quicktime screen recorder, the recording changes colors

Please help me out!! So I've had my macbook air for a while now and I've used the quicktime screen recorder multipul times, but latley something changed. When I go to record my screen everything works fine, and once its finished and I've saved it it's still normal. But once I go to import it into imovie the entire recording turns red, I can still see the recording but everything is just red! Everywhere else the recording looks fine, but its only when I try to put it into imovie that it changes colors. Its never done this before and all of my past screen recordings work fine.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

    Hello meaganmarie,
I am assuming you have quicktime up to date (10.3)
    When recording a game window,
    - select quicktime
    - go to file > New Movie Recording
    - select your game window like a rectangular marquee selection (drag and make a rectangle filling only your game window
    - stop when done and save
This way the endtire screen (including youe desktop) won't be seen, just your selected game window.

  • QuickTime Screen Recorder Very Slow in Mountain Lion

Is anyone else having problems with the QuickTime screen recorder in Mountain Lion vs in Snow Leopard? I remember it being light in Snow Leopard, but now, it hogs CPU and GPU (I think) cycles. Most of the time, what I'm trying to record (even just Safari or Finder windows) slows down because of it. Is there a fix for this? My computer is perfectly capable of running Mountain Lion and is much more powerful than my older Mac, which could use the screen recorder just fine in Snow Leopard.
I've also noticed that, if you choose to record audio from a mic, it doesn't start recording video until you make a detectable sound. I can tell by the bitrate meter it shows. This is stupid in my opinion... It should just start when I tell it to.

File a bug report with Apple. Aside from that, I can't help.

  • Quicktime screen recording error.

Hey, I was wondering if there is a fix for Quicktime screen recording, because almost everytime I use screen recording, Quicktime crashes within two minutes. Before mountain lion quicktime was fine, but now the screen recording doesn't work, because of a "kernal" error. If anyone can help, that would be awesome.

You have resurrected an ancient thread by posting in it, and since there was no answer in IT, it may be that your Question would benefit from starting an New Question!!
I would title it something like "  QT screen recording crashing with alert "The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -536870186.)"  "
(Before you post, double check the error alert message text)
Include as much of the following as possible:
Quoted from  Apple's "How to write a good question"
To help other members answer your question, give as many details as you can.
Include your product name and specs such as processor speed, memory, and storage capacity. Please do not include your Serial Number, IMEI, MEID, or other personal information.
Provide the version numbers of your operating system and relevant applications, for example "iOS 6.0.3" or "iPhoto 9.1.2".
Describe the problem, and include any details about what seems to cause it.
List any troubleshooting steps you've already tried, or temporary fixes you've discovered.

So when i do record my hard drive makes noise when i do record. It did let me record only three but still it stops or I see a blink and it stop recording. So I just need help.
    Thanks

    Hey Musiclover99,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing some performance issues with your MacBook Pro. I’d like to ask you a few questions to see if we can isolate this issue further.
First, it sounds like you are trying to record your screen. Do you have a lot of applications running while attempting to record your screen, or an application that requires a lot of memory? Does the issue persist if you attempt to screen record something else?
You can use the steps in these resources to help isolate the issue:

  • Quicktime Screen Recorder Movie Won't Import to iMove

I recorded a Skype interview using Quicktime Screen Recorder and want to import it into iMovie for some quick edits before posting online. However, iMovie says it doesn't support the movie. I've tried exporting it via Quicktime to iTunes and other iPad & Apple TV formats but the import process still isn't working. What am I missing? iMovie used to be able to do this in Snow Leopard, but now that I'm all up to date with the newest iMovie and Yosemite OS I can't do it anymore? Please help!

I wish I knew how to tell you that. Where would I see that info?
I use the older v0.7.50 version of MediaInfo. E.g., here are the specs for the 1880x1800 upscaled video clip I made:
And these are the specs for the original screen recording before upscaling:
Unfortunately, I had to use QT 7 Pro to upscale which adds an additional layer codec settings. Would normally prefer to examine a sample problem file itself and test it on my own system in a known environment. Am basically trying to determine if there is anything obviously suspect about your file or whether it is more likely that your iMovie install is bad. For instance, you said that such movies imported correctly under Snow Leopard but did not indicate if the problem file will import to the older system or will import under Yosemite on a different platform if either/both options are available to you.

  • Not being able to hear application audio on quicktime screen recording when using headset

Can someone tell me how to still hear the computer audio (like the application sound) on while using quicktime screen recording when using headset?
Someone help me please or tell me another application to do this with.

    hi paula
your problem could be hardware/software. lets hope its software issue first and i'd like you to do these:
if you have personal files on volume c, copy/backup them. shut down your computer, press one key recover button to perform clean windows installation. then check if the issue still persists.
if you don,t want to use okr, you can use windows restore to restore your computer to previous restore points but if it's windows/virus issue, it may not help.

  • Editing QuickTime screen recording in PP

I'm trying to edit a video I made using QuickTime screen recording (basically a how-to video using Lightroom that will go on YouTube). I want to edit it in PP 5.5, but I'm not sure what settings to use. Any suggestions? I'm on a Mac using 10.8. Thanks.

    Hi Mike,
Click on the movie file in Premiere Pro and choose File > New > Sequence from Clip. That will give you a sequence the proper settings. See if that works for you.
    Thanks,

  • QuickTime screen recording is stuck on finishing. Please help?

    QuickTime Issue:
I was making a screen recording for a video tutorial and when I finished, it stuck itself on "finishing." I haven't been able to force quit it in the dock or in Activity Monitor. I cannot shut my computer off or restart it. I have a 21.5' iMac running Mac OS X Lion version 10.7.3. My processor is 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5. I have 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory.

  • Quicktime Screen Recording - Higher quality missing

Everywhere I've read that Quicktime screen recording has a medium and a higher quality setting, but when I try to do a screen recording, it doesn't give me any quality options. It just has options for the microphone. See the attached photo.
How can I get it to give me an option for high quality screen recording? The default seems to be lower quality, which I can't use. Thanks in advance for any help!!

I have the same question, and have looked at the answers here. I am not trying to answer your question, just add to it.
I have used snapz pro x and find that I like that way quicktime displays whats on your screen with the same amount of lag that will be in the finished video, while snapz does not. surely there is a way, deep in preferences or maybe even in terminal, that will enable me to take higher quality images in my screen recordings. I find the audio is fine but the image is what I have a problem with. I dont have the 100+ dollars to spend on other screen recording software, and would really appreciate some help.
    thanks,

  • Laggy Quicktime screen recording

I am trying to record my league of legends gameplay using Quicktime Screen Recorder. I bought the highest specced new iMac possible so i don't see why it is so laggy. I hope Apple can make an update for this and get it fixed because i would really like to use this program...
    here are my specs
Processor  3.2 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1024 MB
    Software  OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)
I have 805 gb free out of 999.35 so....

Once you have opened a new Screen Recording (ie. QuickTime player, file, New Screen Recording) go to the screen record (black box), hit the dropdown arrow (white down arrow next to the record button) and select Medium Quality. This in my opinion doesn't change the actual quality of the recording, but gets rid of the annoying lag spots. Please tell me if this helped.
