Quicktime showing advertisements instead of video

i've never had this problem in the past. usually, i navigate through my iphoto library, find a video, double-click, and done. it launches quicktime and quicktime plays the video. however, when i did this today, quicktime opened with advertisements for the new lil' jeezy album or whatever. when i minimize that window and double click the video files icon again nothing happens. the only way i can do it is through quicktime-file-open, then find the video in finder. it used to be so convenient. what's going on? any help would be greatly appreciated. happy holidays, guys!

Playhead shows photo instead of video

I have removed ilife 11 and reinstalled.
There is a huge section of Imovie from the Iphoto library that when in preview mode (playhead) shows a photo and not the video. Not all the video in the Iphoto library is doing this.
I am not able to preview and edit what I would like to add to my project.
I have rebuilt the iphoto library, removed the application and reinstalled. What can be causing this?

There is a similar "privacy shade" feature on the Toshiba Web Application program that puts up a picture in place of the web camera video, its called Screen Cover. Launch the Toshiba Web Application (if it's installed), if it doesn't slide out from the side of the screen automatically, by selecting Start --> All Programs --> Toshiba --> Utilities --> Toshiba Web Application. Next select the Effects button (third one down on the application window for me). Then select the Screen Cover tab and select Off, then click the OK button to save the settings and follow with a test to ensure the screen cover is gone.

The Videos are showed up front 4 months, but now they are no longer to be seen. When you star a video first the hard drive starts, but then it stops and hangs up. I have to restart it, starting with the apple logo....

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

The camera is Sony Handycam HDR-CX550. I used the internal hard disc to record. I can's use MTS clips if it is recorded on the internal hard disc. I converted clips into MOV, MP4, and Final Cut formats, non of them worked on Final Cut Pro X. I tried to import the same clips on iMovie, it worked but super slow. MOV and MP4 formats used to work for FCPX, the only difference is I recorded the footage with HD 1920x1080.
The clip I imported showed as a blue thing with two rectagle shapes on it. I can hear the sound, but no video. I also imported my old clips with sam format, it worked. I tried a lot of things, no use.

What's the format of your video? That will give you a hint as to what plugin is failing (or missing).

MOV is a wrapper that can contain many different codecs. The message you get is indicative of a distribution codec inside the MOV wrapper. You may need to convert the material to an editable codec before importing.

How to get photos show up in a video project?

Hi! I'm trying to import photos from a Canon Powershot SX210 IS into a movie project. I first imported the photos into iPhoto library and photos show up in the project, then I drag and drop then into the project timeline but once I play the video project it only shows black instead of the videos. What do I have to do? Do the photos have to be in certain file format / certain size? Now the photos are raw 14 megapixel monsters. Thanks for help!

How do I get Quicktime to play a short video clip emailed to me?

My daughter emailed me a video clip of our grandson and told me to use Quicktime to view it. I went to Apple Downloads and got the older version of Quicktime required by my Tiger OS. When I updated my ITunes all the media file associations were changed to QuickTime. I want the Windows Media Player to keep the associations.
What I did so far is:
I have disabled all associations in QuickTime player options (except .mov) and turned on all associations in Win Media Player (which I prefer for streaming internet videos) however QuickTime still opens all onling videos. How can I change that. Is uninstalling QT the only solution to this problem?

Changing the the file associations from within QT and WMP settings may not be enough if there are current files on the hard drive that have been previously associated with that media player.
Try right clicking on one of those files, Where it shows; Opens With: click on the Change button, and choose what media player to handle it

Try using Quicktime Player 7 instead.
Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded.

Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".

1. Goods movement subtotal showing 0 instead of the total of the quantity.
The check throwing the following error message.
Update control of movement type is incorrect (entry 122 X X)
Message no. M7226
2. Purchase order data tab not showing item details for variance items but showing the message
"This item has not been ordered." But the PO items are ordered and present in the PO.

Kindly Check table T156SC entries there is a entry missing in the table.
And if required so kindly Maintain the missing entries in table.
If entries of movement type 101 are prefect then
Goto Transaction -- SE37 ,
Function module -- MB_CONTROL_MOVETYPE_GET_SINGLE
Kindly do Set a break point to select statement which is failing at the table above at both the systems.You should be able to crack the error.

Quicktime doesn't open any video files (app loads, no video)

I've done my best to search for a solution, but I have come up with nothing.
Whenever I try to load any video files (.mov, .mp4, .avi, etc) Quicktime Player 10.1 opens, but no video file is displayed. Same results if I use the "open" command from within Quicktime. All of the videos play fine in VLC.
The only exception to this rule is when viewing a trailer on trailers.apple.com. If I "download" an HD trailer, Quicktime opens and begins to stream the trailer, however the ram runs away (8+gb instantly) and the computer starts chugging very badly.
In the old days I would have just reinstalled quicktime, however with how deeply it is integrated into Lion I am unsure of how to proceed (short of a clean install). Thanks in advance!

Discoverer 10.1.2.55.26 Viewer Shows NULL instead of Blank

Hello All,
we recently installed Discoverer 10.1.2.55.26 and applied cumulative patches(CM4). we migrated 9.04 version reports to Discoverer 10g(10.1.2.55.26).
On all the Reports, we see NULL instead of Blank spaces in the data in the viewer. How can we change all of the reports to show blank space instead of NULL.
Please share your experience and thoughts on this Issue

Before i try on the big bang approach. I tried changing the worksheet options for one of the worksheet that shows NULL.
I changed from NULL to blank space and saved the workbook.
we use Oracle Portal to show these workbooks as Portal Views. Portal View was showing NULL before the change, and after changing the worksheet options and saving it, i refreshed the portal view and it started showing Blank instead of NULL. Works fine for that day.
The next Day again it started showing NULL.
Do u think are we missing any step?
