You have been told correctly. QTVR AS is a GREAT program - it WILL run in the Classic mode on an OS X machine, but not in OS X.
There are many non-Apple applications available. Go to: http://www.kaidan.com/ for more information

  • Unable to export Quicktime after upgrade from Premiere 7.0 to 8.0 (2014) error "incompatible video codec in preset"

In the previous version of Premiere Pro (downloaded two months ago) I was able to export QuickTime files with preset HD 720p H.264.  It was very easy to do this in the previous version.
Upgraded to Premiere Pro 8.0 (2014), no when I attempt to export the same project with the same settings I see error message "incompatible video codec found in the preset. present load failed"
When I select Quicktime, the default preset appears as NTSC DV Widescreen 24p.   Attempted to export with this setting, result is a file that plays audio but no video.
System is Windows, tried two different computers, including one with Windows 8, same result. Tried Media Encoder, same result.
I searched the forums for an answer, the new features page lists these presets as available however they are not working for me.  Nothing else was changed on the computer, only the upgrade to Premiere 8.0 (2014)
How can I export Quicktime files in the new Premiere Pro?

  • Can't play .MOV files in Quicktime after upgrading to OSX 10.6

Recently upgraded from OS X (10.5) to OS X (10.6).  .MOV files played fine in Quicktime before the upgrade.

I recorded the movie using a camera, and the file plays on the camera as a movie... I'm stumped.
Then I suggest you compare the size of the playing file on your camera with the size of the non-playing file on your computer—they may not be the same. As QTKirk indicated, 40.37 KB seems unreasonable for any normally encoded non-anamorphic 1280x720 MPEG-4/AVC file more than a few frames long. For comparison purposes, a typical 1280x720 JPEG photo compressed to its smallest file size setting on a Mac would have a file size on the order of 100 KB. Other ways to look at your file would be...
    a) if it is one second long, then its data rate is on the order of 322.96 Kbps
    b) if it is two seconds long, then its data rate is on the order of 161.48 Kbps
    c) if it is three seconds long, then its data rate is on the order of 107.65 Kbs
etc., etc., etc. which is unheard of for any reasonable amount of quality for 1280x720 HD dimensions in this compression format.

  • Cannot reinstall Quicktime and upgrade ITunes

My wife and daughter both needed to upgrade itunes but I could not upgrade Quicktime. Someone mentioned you needed to delete quicktime which I did. I have turned off all firewalls and virsus software. When i go to down I get many error messages such as "Local_machine\software\classes\Quicktime\CLSID.
As someone mentioned I went into the registry and added 'Administrators" to the permissions. This process did not work.
Any idea how to get rid of all these"verify key" messages?
    Thanks
    Bob

    pac_80 and Skita,
Well folks, I have spent 4 hours trying to figure this out! I did everything you asked me. I changed the settings under users, I erased all the ipod, itunes, and quicktime files, exactly as instructed.
I went back on, and downloaded quicktime ( one of you suggested just downloading quicKtime separately, but for the life of me, I could not find it) because everytime it wants to downloaded both quicktime and itunes.
I still get the same message:
    COULD NOT OPEN KEY
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE-\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\QUICKTIME.QUCIKTIME\CLSID
VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT ACCESS TO THAT KEY.
One of you gave me a thread to where I go to the registry and change the settings. I tried this but unfortunately there is no way to change it as per the instructions.
In addition, both users are administrators.
    I guess I have a few options:
try to find a way to download just quicktime (cannot find the link)
go back into the registry and delete ALL lines with quicktime (not too sure what would happen)
    or
    give up!
Any other suggestions to help this usually cool under pressure person would be appreciated!
    Thanks Bob

  • Quicktime Pro upgrade

I have QT X on snow leopard. I don't get audio with screen capture. I wanted to uograde to QT Pro but I'm a little confused- QT Pro is v 7, and says it only works if you have QT 7, so how do I upgrade to Pro when I have X?

Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl923
Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".

  • Free Quicktime Pro Upgrade

Is there any way I can upgrade to Quicktime Pro for free? If so can you give me a download site?

    Costs $29.99
    Pay the money.

  • Quicktime pro upgrade will not launch

Upgraded to pro about 6 weeks ago and followed the procedure for such. I can only launch QT player and QT Pro is "grayed out". I do have the code. Any help would be much appreciated.

Make sure you're entering in both the user name and key code exactly as in the email Apple sent you. Any error in either, including leaving off a salutation (for instance, if the email says "Mr. John Smith") will cause the registration to error.
Also make sure you purchased a key for the correct platform (Windows or Mac). QuickTime keys are not cross-platform.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I remove Quicktime to upgrade to 7.03???

I just downloaded and TRIED to install the iTunes 6.01 but I got an iTunes error -3. So I read a few posts and found a link to the stand alone QuickTime download and tried that now I get the following errors.
    1st error screen:
Setup could not find a file on the specefied path or disk.
Please check that the proper disk is inserted or specify a new path.
    Unable to locate file c:\...\...\_is43\QuickTime.msi.
    2nd Error screen:
Error 1714. The older version of QuickTime cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.
    3rd Error screen:
Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation.
Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.
Any ideas out there on how to get around this?

      Windows XP Pro

    hi Larrin!
apologies in advance, but most of the links in the threads that i'm going to be referencing here date from before the transition to the new Discussions server software. so most of the links in those documents are dead. so this may be a bit confusing.
let's start with your first error message:
    Unable to locate file c:\...\...\_is43\QuickTime.msi.
just checking ... does the full path that you're getting with this one look something like this?
    C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations\ some big long nukmner\iTunes.msi
if so, i think i've seen this before, although in the few cases i've seen, it's usually an itunes.msi getting referenced. for example:

    ... and:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=810876#810876
if that's what you've got, it seems to be being caused by registry damage on your PC. what we've had success with is using RegCleaner to fix the registry problem. this is what xks did in order to fix the first one of these i ever saw. see:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=805261#805261
... and here's a functional link to the post containing the link to RegCleaner (that xks used) and a description of the utility (it's in step 4 of CoJeff's procedure):

  • QuickTime & Security upgrades--system will not boot

Hello. I'm new to the posting/discussion board world, and while I have reviewed other threads I haven't found anything yet to solve my problem.
Let me say that I am not sure of the particular OS version I am using (10.4.8 is a guess). Since I tried to install the QT/security update last weekend, my iMac gets to a point where something (either the hardrive or the fan, or both) are making considerable noise. The machine sounds like it's trying to take off.
Having browsed some other threads, I have done these things:
I booted the computer using my system installation disk; ran Disk Utilities; repaired the disk; and verified disk permissions. Initially, the repair-disk function did not succeed, but I have run it again and it indicated success. I have fixed disk permissions and verified them, again apparently successfully.
When I attempt to boot, the gray screen comes up but after approximately one minute a circle appears where the Apple ought to be and the harddrive/fan ramps up to take-off speed. Out of fear for the system I do not let this condition continue for more than a few minutes and I turn the machine off by pressing the power button for several seconds. It seems clear that it won't boot.
I have not been able to boot into safe mode, either, if that means holding down the shift key upon power up.
I am now lost as to what I can do without attempting to re-install OS X from the disk or seeking other professional help. I sincerely appreciate any assistance in this matter.

    BDAqua,
My deepest appreciation for your assistance. Your solution seems to have worked and the system appears to be running as before.
If I may ask two follow-up questions:
    1. If I ensure that the disk permissions are repaired/verified, can/should I go ahead and update my system with the 10.4.11 update?
    2. Do I maintain the "previous system" file on my harddisk, or can I safely delete it?
Thanks again for your help and guidance. It was rather upsetting having my computer disabled like that. I've definitely learned from this.
    Aaron

  • Cannot export to Quicktime after upgrade 9.4.3

I saw another thread about this but what they suggested is not working for me. I am also a professional photographer who has been using iphoto as a quick way to create a slideshow to bring into iMovie or FCP for tweaking. Yesterday the option for 'custom export' was there after going under File > Export > Slideshow > Display now there is only one export button showing and when you click it, it does just that, exports to M4v, which is of no use to me whatsoever.
Please tell me I am missing something here....
    Thanks in advance....

  • Quicktime broadcaster won't work since upgrade to Tiger!

this is probably the worst experience i've had trying to get support from Apple. nothing remotely resembling my problem is anywhere in the knowledge base. here's the deal...
i used broadcaster every week prior to upgrade without any problems...NOW...i am unable to "enable video stream" since upgrading to Tiger. All I can broadcast is audio.
I EVEN have AppleCare support for my computer but Apple still won't help me!!!! I spent all day on this and need it to work TOMORROW MORNING! didn't expect any problems since it worked fine before.
    Signed,
A disappointed customer who has used Apple Computers for 20+ years!

Okay....after a few more hours I decided to reinstall Quicktime Player and then re-enter my quicktime Pro registration key. Now it works. I'm still disappointed that Apple wouldn't help me with this though. Not the service I'm used to.
So...quicktime broadcaster users be advised of this need to reinstall quicktime after upgrading to Tiger. It wasn't just my g5 that was affected...I checked it out on my g4 powerbook and also had the same problem.

  • Quicktime upgrade help

A few weeks ago my computer was working fine. Then I installed Kid Pix on my computer (I'm a teaching assistant). Now everytime I open up Quicktime (or any Apple product for that matter), I get a little pop-up saying that Quicktime has an upgrade available. When I click to upgrade, it either says that there was an error connecting to the server, or that it sucessfully upgraded. Yet when that happens, the pop-up appears again! Now I know my Quicktime is upgraded to the most recent model (ver. 7.2). I've also uninstalled Kid Pix from my computer, thinking that would of helped. But it didn't. Does anyone know why this message keeps popping up?

Does anyone know what's wrong? I'm all out of ideas.
