Quicktime transitions for podcast artwork?

Hi~
Is there some way to utilize Quicktime transitions for chapter artwork in a podcast? I'm creating some podcasts that have a lot of images following a monologue, and I'd like to have the images "crossfade" rather than abruptly switch. Does anyone know if this is possible thru GarageBand 3?
(In case you're wondering: No, I can't first make a movie from images and then apply the audio later; I am using pre-existing monologues, and I need to time the appearance of artwork to match up with what's being talked about in the monologue.)
Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

There was another question here in this forum related to transitions that I saw. I haven't tried it, but according to the person posting the other question you'd have to create the entire visual track in iMovie because you can't place video in the podcast track. If you try, GB will so inform you and ask if you'd like to replace the podcast track with a video track. I've never tried to include both types of tracks, but I would imagine it would be difficult to sync if GB allows it.

  • Is It posible to get album artwork for podcasts?

    Hi ,
I wass wondering is it possible to get album artwork for podcasts and how do you do that?
    Thanks for your help,
    lizabler

Artwork for podcasts is inserted by the creator of the podcast. You can add artwork to a podcast if it doesn't have it already, but you would have to do this every time you download a new podcast. Highlight the podcast and go to File>Get Info>Artwork tab if you would like to add artwork.

  • Artwork for Podcasts

    Hello,
I use podcasts on a daily basis. I have 8 different podcasts. Only, one of the podcasts' artwork showed up. I tried the "Get Album Artwork" button. Then, I tried "Clear Downloadeud Artwork" and then "Get Album Artwork". It still did not work. I tried unsubscribing, deleting and then subscribing and that did not work. I updated iTunes, that did not work. I would like the artwork with my podcasts. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you.

"Get album artwork" does not work for Podcasts, nor will your other attempts.
Artwork is added by the Podcast producer. Often they do not add it to episodes, but simply to the programme series that is displayed in the Store. Each epsiode can have its own artwork, therefore artwork needs to be added to each individual episode.
Podcasts are simply listed in the iTunes Store, they are not downloaded from the Store and therefore, you do not obtain them from the Store. They are downloaded from the Podcast producer's servers. So this is not something that Apple/iTunes controls, it's down to the Podcast producers.

  • How do I get podcast artwork to appear in iTunes?

    Hi,
I am having difficulty getting podcast artwork that appears in the podcast directory on the iTunes store to appear in iTunes after I've subscribed.  For example, if I choose NBC's "Meet the Press (audio)", the directory shows a cover image for the podcast.  However, when I subscribe, no cover art appears on my iTunes or my iPod Nano (latest generation).  When I click on the podcat image and then select "Get Album Artwork" (either by ctrl+click on the mouse, or the "Advanced" menu), nothing happens.
What might be causing this to happen, and what do I do?
I am using iTunes 10.6.1 (7) on an iMac running Mac OS 10.6.8.
Thanks in advance for any help you could provide!
    Tony

    Hi Roger,
Thanks for your reply and my apologies for taking longer than hoped to respond.  The problem I'm having is that the cover art shows on my iPad (e.g. for "Meet the Press", a weekly American news programme), but it doesn't in either iTunes on my Mac or (consequently) my iPod Nano.
I'm not sure I understand why the image, if it's embedded, would appear on one device but not on another for iTunes?
I tried going to the iTunes store and dragging the cover art across to iTunes on my Mac, but it only brings the link across (rather than the image).
Any help you could provide would be most appreciated!
    Thanks and best regards,
    Tony

  • How to post podcast artwork in iTunes with libsyn

    Quick question..
How do I get MY image to show up in the podcast page in iTunes? I'm talking about the page that shows when my podcast is displayed. There is just a default image there right now, and I would like to change it to an image of my choosing. I've gone into the setting tab in libsyn, and added an image to the iTunes submission tab, but the image fails to show. I'm assuming this is a problem with the rss feed, because no image shows in a few other podcast directories.
How do I make an image show up in the iTunes podcast artwork area? How do I do this using libsyn as my host?
    Thanks

The iTunes 12 Get Info dialog lacks right-click context menus (at least for now) but it still accepts most standard keyboard shortcuts and drag & drop actions.
    Delete Artwork
On the artwork tab of Get Into, tap the image in question, use Backspace or Ctrl+X. Delete doesn't work.
Or, tap the image at the top left of Get Info, this time use Backspace or Delete, it is Ctrl+X that doesn't work.
    Add Artwork
Select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the center of the Artwork tab, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the small image area at the top left, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, you can drag & drop to, or sometimes from, the same locations.
You can also copy artwork from the Get Info dialog to Windows Explorer with the keyboard shortcuts.
If the source image is on a web page right-click and use Copy Image rather than copy. (With Chrome I get a one pixel wraparound so tend to go for a temporary local copy anyway - not sure whose bug this is, but it isn't new.)
If you have multiple images embedded drag the one you want to be the primary artwork to the leftmost position.
    Replace/Remove All Artwork
The top left image box can be used to add or delete art from multiple tracks. In either case all existing artwork in all tracks is replaced/removed.
    Old Style Get Info Dialog
Select some items, right-click, hold down shift, then click Get Info from the context menu. (Use alt/option on a Mac)

  • Missing podcast artwork

I use the apple podcast app on my iPhone to listen to podcasts. The artwork has disappeared for my Steve Austin podcast (it has always shown up as has all of my other podcasts artwork since I got the app). is any body experiencing this and what can I do to get the artwork to show up again? I never use iTunes on my laptop to manage my podcasts I have always downloaded them via my iPhone.

I had the same problem. Just deleted the podcasts app and reinstalled it (all subscriptions and content was maintained) waiting a few minutes and voila, it was fixed.

  • Updating my podcast artwork?

    Hi there,
We've recently updated our podcast artwork but not sure how to change it on iTunes?
    Our podcast is here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/picturehouse-podcast/id393128786?mt=2
Our old artwork is hosted here: http://podcasts.simplicityphotography.co.uk/picturehouse_artwork.jpg
    <itunes:image href="http://podcasts.simplicityphotography.co.uk/picturehouse_artwork.jpg" />
Do I simply need to upload my new artwork to a hosting site and drop the link in? Will iTunes pull in the new artwork?
Would it matter if I uploaded it to a different server to our podcast files?
    Cheers,
    Sam

Do I simply need to upload my new artwork to a hosting site and drop the link in? Will iTunes pull in the new artwork?
Yes; but you must give the new image a new filename or the Store won't recorgnize that it's changed. It will take some days for the new image to appear in the Store.
Would it matter if I uploaded it to a different server to our podcast files?
No. Obviously the URL must always be a full one (as it is at present)

  • Podcast artwork

    hi all
my podcast artwork does not appear in my library after downloading the podcast, but the artwork is there in the i tunes store, can anybody help please.
the title of the podcast is electronic-mixes.com
    thanks

As I said, *Some podcast providers fail to embed artwork in all their files.*
The store pages are basically scripted web pages with text, artwork & links to other pages. Any artwork shown is completely seperate from any that may or may not be included in a file you eventually download. Even though the iTunes store may have an image to associate with a Podcast, this is separate from the system which provides art for store downloads. Podcasts are generally downloaded from the 3rd party supplier not iTMS and, as far as I'm aware, only display art that has been explicity embedded in the tag.

  • Exporting for Podcast

I'm trying to export some of our shows for Podcast, however when I export in the iTunes Video Large (.mp4) format, I end up with nearly every other frame being a flash of bright green.
Anybody know what is the best way to export a video (with audio) for podcasting? Thanks

First, if you downgrad to QuickTime 7.4.5 all should be ok.
I did notice that I see the flashes when viewins on a windows Vista machine. When I transferred the mp4 files to my iPod, they played fine.

  • Assigning and exporting podcast artwork

The podcast artwork that is exporting with my episodes seems to be stuck on the same one all the time.  I'm not sure how to place the correct episode artwork for each new episode of my podcasts in the GarageBank window.  For instance I have one GarageBand podcast project, but then I might have 8 episodes (each with different tracks) underneath.  I have place new podcast artwork in the lower, editing window, but it's indicating chapters.
Is there any documentation on how to do this correctly?
    Thank you,

I think it's not possible to make any cogent comment unless you would like to publish the URLs of both your feed and the Store page; this can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image - or where it should be - and choosing 'Copy link'.  Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable.

    Thanks for the reply Roger.
The link was copied from facebook--this one should work.

I have set up 5 podcasts in the past and never had this issue.
The image size has been changed, renamed the file, made certain the color is rGB--still rejected.

  • Podcast artwork not downloading

    Hi, everyone.
I'm having problems with podcast artwork not showing up. I normally download my podcasts through iTunes, and for several feeds, album art shows up in the iTunes Store but isn't embedded in the files I download.
I always figured that the providers were just somehow not embedding the art in the individual files, but then I noticed that when I download the files directly from my iPhone, they show up just fine. To test it out, I tried two copies of the same file -- one downloaded directly to the phone and another synced from iTunes -- and got the same result: one with album art, one without.
Any idea what's going on here?
    Thanks,
    --Brian

Also have this problem - Even after vigorous Menu>Get Album Artwork attempts. My Podcasts look like empty tabs with zero differentiation between each other...
Come on Apple, stop treating podcast talent like chode, they're one of the only things keeping you guys from having to totally overhaul the iTunes app... how is that going by the way? I guess we'll all just keep jumping over to Spotify until you get that one figured out... Better hope they don't dig into podcasts too =/
Jokes aside, I love iTunes, but it really need the artwork to complete the experience, eh?

  • Podcast artwork does not show in ITunes store

I recently began producing a music podcast http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/felony-buddha/id375837423.
I am using blogger http://www.felonybuddha.com and feedburner http://www.felonybuddha.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss.
Initially I did not have the artwork url in SmartCast but I updated Smartcast
on 06/04/2010 with this url http://4.bp.blogspot.com/PuXcBmmd7sY/TAmrnudmrHI/AAAAAAAAAAM/W8kCV6S3N2U/s1600/iStock000010405007XSmall.jpg. I sent a Ping but the podcast artwork still does not show in Itunes store.
What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help.

The Feedburner feed is probably OK: it does have the declaration and the correct image reference.. As there are no line returns separating the tags it appears either as one or two long lines or as a slab of text, so it's very difficult to read, and you might want to go through your original feed if you can, and put some line returns in.
Assuming it to be OK, you have two possibilities: both involve you editing the original feed.
    For clarity let's label the feeds;
Feed 1 is your original, http://www.felonybuddha.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss
    Feed 2 is the Feedburner-generated one, http://feeds.feedburner.com/felonybuddha/MhvA
Method 1: amend feed 1 to contain the necessary tags. The top section of the feed should read:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <rss xmlns:atom='http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom'
    xmlns:openSearch='http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearchrss/1.0/'
    xmlns:georss='http://www.georss.org/georss'
    xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' version='2.0'
    xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">
    <channel>
Then in the top section of the feed, after 'channel' and before the first 'item' tag, add:
    <itunes:image href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/PuXcBmmd7sY/TAmrnudmrHI/AAAAAAAAAAM/W8kCV6S3N2U/s1600/iStock000010405007XSmall.jpg" />
making sure you don't get this inside another tag (and there must be no line breaks within this). There are still other tags missing, which though they aren't essential, ought really to be there.
Method 2: this might be preferable - redirect iTunes to Feed 2. Feedburner does add a lot of garbage to the feed (intended for compatibility with other rss readers) but they shouldn't cause any problems; however there are some caveats, see below. The method:
You will need to add the following tag to Feed 1, after the 'channel' tag and before the first 'item' tag:
    <itunes:new-feed-url>http://feeds.feedburner.com/felonybuddha/MhvA</itunes:new-feed-url>
Before doing this you should read this Apple Tech Note just so that you are completely clear what you are doing.
Re-upload the feed and leave it there until iTunes has changed to the new feed - this may take some days. To check whether it's changed, go to the Store page for your podcast, click on the 'Subscribe' button, go to the 'Podcasts' section in the sidebar, and click on the 'i' button on the extreme right of the line for your overall podcast (not the episode). The pane which pops up contains the feed iTunes is using.
    Caveats:
Make sure you get the URL exactly right in the redirect. If you make a mistake *you will not be able to get it back* once iTunes has redirected.
Be aware that once you have transferred to Feed 2 you cannot edit that feed directly, only the feed you submit to Feedburner. This may possibly mean that if you later want to redirect to another feed you won't be able to.

  • ITunes/Quicktime fix for Vista?

Many commerical podcasts, as well as videos I know work in XP and MacOS don't seem to want to allow me to add them to my iTunes lib nor sync to my iPod. I suspect it's Quicktime's fault since when I try and play them in Vista quicktime says it cannot read the files atom, but the same videos run fine in XP and MacOS.
I've reinstalled both many times in vista in case it was some sort of bad install and found other people having the same problem on these forums.
Any word on an iTunes/Quicktime fix for Vista to allow us to view/sync these files again?

This works an absolute treat. I couldn't get past the VB Script error but once I'd followed you're instructions it took me 15 minutes to get it all installed and running. Everything works fine.
    Cheers

I miss the basic Quicktime Transitions like Push, Radial or Whipe. Does someone know if this effects are still aviable somewhere?

Thank you for your answers. I found that the transition Wipe will do almost the same job. For the moment I'm fine with that solution.
