Quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed, i need 7.0.3 to run iTunes, HELP!!!!!

Everytime I try to open iTunes, a message come up that says,
"Quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires Qicktime version 7.0.3 or later. Please reinstall iTunes."
I have obviously reinstalled iTunes dozens of times, and also redownloaded Quicktime version 7.0.3 or a newer version many times. And nothing seems to work, the same message keeps coming up. I have spent hours trying everything i could think of to fix it, but nothing is working. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Can you go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Uninstall QuickTime
Then download and install QuickTime standalone?

  • Quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires Quicktime 7.0.3...

My error message is: Quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires Quicktime 7.0.3 or higher. Please reinstall iTunes.
This all started when I was trying to upgrade. I have downloaded the new quicktime and when it came to the option of reparing or uninstalling, I chose repair.
I read through other problems, but didn't find this error message.
Can anyone please help me? In a way in which I don't lose my library?

Sorry. Um. Try to completely remove the Quicktime program from the Add/Remove directory via Control Panel. Reboot your computer. From the Apple website Save the Quicktime program to your Desktop (i.e., rather than "run from this location.") Install Quicktime by clicking on the Quicktime install program that should be present on your desktop. When it is done, reboot your computer.

I hope that that is the correct link.

  • Quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed  itunes needs 7.1.3 or later

    HI
I keep getting this message when i try to open itunes. all i did was install the newest itunes download and now it wont work at all. Have tried to reinstall as it said but when i do it tells me there is a newer version ive downloaded and wont let me continue. Please help as tearing hair out lol

let's try swapping out your QuickTime.
head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
    7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now?

  • Quicktime Version 7.0d0???

I just upgraded my iTunes version. Before restarting the computer I could open the programm, but then...
I always get the following error message:
Quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed, but iTunes needs Quicktime version 7.1.3 or newer. Please reinstall iTunes again.
After several tentatives of reinstalling iTunes (which never caused any problems during installation), the problem is still there.
I also tried to install Quicktime 7.1.3 seperately, but then I was told, that there was already a newer version installed on my computer.
I'm not very experienced in computers so I'm kind of lost!
    Can anybody help me please?!!!

    Hi there
I've got a sony VAIO PCV-W2 desktop and had exactly the same problem. I picked up a few points from here and this is what I did which corrected the problem.
I firstly went into the control panel and removed both itunes and quicktime. I then manually removed leftover programme folders and files as follows.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk (normally C drive).
    3. Open Program files folder.
    4. Right-click on the itunes folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Then right click on Quicktime folder and delete from shortcut menu also
    6. Navigate back to Local disc (C drive)
    7. Open Windows files folder then System 32 files folder
    8. Delete the files QuickTime and QuicktimeVR from the system 32 folder
    9. Restart your computer.
Finally, I installed itunes 7.01 (downloaded from website)and rebooted again. This fixed my problem and everthing works okay now. Hopefully this will fix your problem too.

  • QuickTime Version 7.0d0 Error Message Upon Installation

    Hi,
    Once I have downloaded the latest iTunes and installed it, I get an error message upon trying to open it which reads as follows;
QuickTime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime Version 7.1.3 or later. Please reinstall iTunes.
At first, I did as the error message said, and reinstalled iTunes. I still got the same error message after I did that. So I then downloaded QuickTime on it's own, but that still didn't work.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks,
    Luke.

  • QuickTime version 7.1 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime version 7.1.3

QuickTime version 7.1 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime version 7.1.3 or later. Please reinstall iTunes.
That's the error message I have gotten for the past 3 days since trying to upgrade itunes. I have the newest quicktime downloaded, have deleted itunes and quicktime and redownloaded it all, and it still won't work. I have NO idea what to do to make this work, but it's driving me crazy. If anyone can help, please give some advice.

You can try to fully remove both iTunes and Quicktime. Then reinstall the software again. The following link will walk you through the removal of both programs. Make sure you complete Step 16 in the article. Good luck.

  • I am trying to install itunes after downloading Windows 8.1.  I get an Windows Error 2 message--  "Apple Application Support is required to run itunes helper."  Any suggestions?

I am trying to install itunes (64 bit) after downloading Windows 8.1 on my HP Laptop.  I keep getting an error message Windows Error 2--"Apple App;ication Support is required to run itunes helper"  Does anyone have any simple suggestions for a user with limited knowledge of Computers?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

    Hi texasslagle,
It sounds like you are having issues installing iTunes on your Windows 7 PC, a frustrating situation I am sure.
There is an article that you may want to use to try to complete your install here -

hmmmmm. okay, let's try using the following "careful and gentle" uninstall/reinstall procedure. (at the very least, it can help to diagnose what the underlying problem with the QT 7 install might be):

  • Quicktime version 7 will not install

Ok i downloaded quicktime 7 for windows and proceeded to install it.. it went fine until the end where my firewall told me that a part of the program wanted to run every time my pc started... i did not want this (even if i did say for the install that i would like the software to be auto updated, should not mean i have to have it running in the background 24/7, i should be able to turn it off i thought.) - so i told my firewall to deny quicktime from adding an item to the startup list, then quicktime told me that it could not write to startup, why would you HAVE to have a part of quicktime running 24/7 anyway- we should have the choise not to, it should not affect the software from doing its job.
anyway i clicked on ignore in the quicktime install and the installer said it was backtracking (word like it), as if it was removing files now..
it said finished.. i tried to load a page with a quicktime video, having already installed the activex control... but it only asked me to download the installer.
so it had removed quicktime...how stupid of it to do so when i had not asked it to.
so i went to reinstall and all i get now is this...
something like... cannot find or initialise windows installer.. etc
ok i just tried installing again after waiting about 10 minutes and now it seems to be installing.. ok think it worked.
    bye

    a few preliminary questions:
    what plugin is being cited?
are you getting any error message numbers with that
error message? if so, what do they say?
do you get the error message when you go to launch
itunes or quicktime? or does it happen during the
    installation process?
