Quicktime Version 7.0d0???

I just upgraded my iTunes version. Before restarting the computer I could open the programm, but then...
I always get the following error message:
Quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed, but iTunes needs Quicktime version 7.1.3 or newer. Please reinstall iTunes again.
After several tentatives of reinstalling iTunes (which never caused any problems during installation), the problem is still there.
I also tried to install Quicktime 7.1.3 seperately, but then I was told, that there was already a newer version installed on my computer.
I'm not very experienced in computers so I'm kind of lost!
Can anybody help me please?!!!

I've got a sony VAIO PCV-W2 desktop and had exactly the same problem. I picked up a few points from here and this is what I did which corrected the problem.
I firstly went into the control panel and removed both itunes and quicktime. I then manually removed leftover programme folders and files as follows.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk (normally C drive).
3. Open Program files folder.
4. Right-click on the itunes folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Then right click on Quicktime folder and delete from shortcut menu also
6. Navigate back to Local disc (C drive)
7. Open Windows files folder then System 32 files folder
8. Delete the files QuickTime and QuicktimeVR from the system 32 folder
9. Restart your computer.
Finally, I installed itunes 7.01 (downloaded from website)and rebooted again. This fixed my problem and everthing works okay now. Hopefully this will fix your problem too.

Can you go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Uninstall QuickTime
Then download and install QuickTime standalone?

Once I have downloaded the latest iTunes and installed it, I get an error message upon trying to open it which reads as follows;
QuickTime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime Version 7.1.3 or later. Please reinstall iTunes.
At first, I did as the error message said, and reinstalled iTunes. I still got the same error message after I did that. So I then downloaded QuickTime on it's own, but that still didn't work.
Could anyone help me?

This just popped up when I opened iTunes today. So I re-installed itunes from the website. I try and open it and the message keeps coming up. I have tried re-installing several times and restarting my computer, but it keeps coming up.
Any help fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

1) turn off your virus protection software
2) deinstall QUICKTIME only (standalone)(click onlink below)
3) reboot - turn off virus protection
4) resintall QUICKTIME only (standalone) (click on line below)
5) reboot

Hey, just installed the newest version of iTunes today off the iTunes site.
Getting the following message:
quicktime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires Quicktime version 7.0.3 or later. Please reinstall iTunes.
I have re-downloaded the install file and ran the "repair" option, but no good has come, same error.
Any suggestions?
P.s. It worked fine after the install was first complete, it was after I restarted the PC that it wouldnt work.

This all started when I was trying to upgrade. I have downloaded the new quicktime and when it came to the option of reparing or uninstalling, I chose repair.
I read through other problems, but didn't find this error message.
Can anyone please help me? In a way in which I don't lose my library?

Sorry. Um. Try to completely remove the Quicktime program from the Add/Remove directory via Control Panel. Reboot your computer. From the Apple website Save the Quicktime program to your Desktop (i.e., rather than "run from this location.") Install Quicktime by clicking on the Quicktime install program that should be present on your desktop. When it is done, reboot your computer.

I keep getting this message when i try to open itunes. all i did was install the newest itunes download and now it wont work at all. Have tried to reinstall as it said but when i do it tells me there is a newer version ive downloaded and wont let me continue. Please help as tearing hair out lol

let's try swapping out your QuickTime.
head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.

next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.

if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now?

I downloaded the new version of itunes but had a problem when opening itunes after the update. just checking. did you use the "QuickTime + itunes" link on the QT download page? that actually downloads an itunes/QT installer bundle. to get a genuine standalone QT off that page you have to click on the "Quicktime Standalone Installer" bullet point (down by the "QuickTime FAQ").
let's try a careful standalone 7.0.3 install again. (even if this gives us an error message, that error message should give us more information about the nature of the underlying problem with the QT installs.)
first, download and save a copy of the Standalone QT 7.0.3 installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off all antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

Itunes is asking for Quicktime Version 7.5.5. or higher before opening

recently I had to reinstall my complete software by using the installation disc that came with my macbook. After reinstalling I updated my itunes-Version to 5.2.2. Afterwards, by clicking on the itunes-Logo in the dock in order to start itunes, I have received the failure notice "Itunes needs quicktime player version 7.5.5. or higher"
I have checked my current quicktime version, it says it is version no. 7.7. (1680.25) in greater letters and below written in smaller letters there's a different version no. saying 7.4.1. (14).
That leaves me with the question, how to find out which quicktime version is correct. And, if no. 7.7. is correct, what can I do about itunes to be able to open the programm again? Thanks in advance for any advice, you can give me.

Run System Profiler. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."
Check under both Applications and Frameworks for Quicktime. Applications are the actual Player application itself. I believe Frameworks is the underlying system software support. If you see something different there it might be that about which iTunes is complaining. On my computer both say the same, but I'm not having the issue.
I'm guessing here but if you re-installed the system using Archive and Install, your applications were left intact and that's why your Player is 7.7, but all your system software (includingQT framework) was replaced with earlier versions which may be why the you're seeing different versions. iTunes doesn't need the Player, but it does need the underlying QT software.

I have downloaded itunes version 5, but it will not load as quicktime version 7 has not been installed. I still have version 6.5. I have tried to install quicktime version 7 several times, and although the download seems to be successful, it is still version 6.5. I cannot open up itunes and do not know how to resolve this. hmmmmm. okay, let's try using the following "careful and gentle" uninstall/reinstall procedure. (at the very least, it can help to diagnose what the underlying problem with the QT 7 install might be):

That's the error message I have gotten for the past 3 days since trying to upgrade itunes. I have the newest quicktime downloaded, have deleted itunes and quicktime and redownloaded it all, and it still won't work. I have NO idea what to do to make this work, but it's driving me crazy. If anyone can help, please give some advice.

You can try to fully remove both iTunes and Quicktime. Then reinstall the software again. The following link will walk you through the removal of both programs. Make sure you complete Step 16 in the article. Good luck.

Latest quicktime version 7.1 with Pro/MPEG-2 Playback.

I just realized that the latest Quicktime version is 7.1 and noticed that the version I have is 7.0.4. My concern is that I also have Quicktime Pro 7.0 and the MPEG-2 Playback and wanted to know if I download the new version 7.1 of Quicktime how that would affect the Quicktime Pro and MPEG-2 Playback?

The Apple MPEG-2 Playback Component is a lifetime purchase and if newer versions are released you don't have to buy again.
Your QuickTime 7 Pro will not be changed because of the update. Your registration will remain valid until you install version 8 (whenever it comes out).

The normal OSX update will update QuickTime if needed.
