Quicktime will not download !

I been trying to download QT but it will not open, disabled firewall, cleared download folder, opened new folder please help! Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q870 win 7 home 64bit foxfire 3.6 kaspersky IS 2010

Having same issue here.
When clicking on "download", window behaves as though there's a pop-up but doesn't allow it. Normally there'll be a prompt in a pale yellow strip up top to choose whether or not to allow a particular pop-up or all from a specific domain site, or one can hold "control" while clicking on the link to allow it once.
However, in this case it only makes the sound, but no yellow line prompt appears. If the "control" option is used, then it still makes the pop-up sound, and the yellow strip alluding to a pop-up appears briefly, but disappears before it can be used to choose a pop-up option.
Because of this, I can't even see where the pop-up is attempting to come from, so I can't adjust my Internet Options to allow them. When I checked there, I did see that anything from "apple.com" already is set to "always allow".
Anyone out there with an answer?

have vista 32 bit and when i try to download quicktime it will not download, window from apple says thank you for downloading quicktime, but my pc shows no sign of any download anywhere...I"VE SEARCHED! its gotta be something simple right? what am i overlooking. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

have vista 32 bit and when i try to download quicktime it will not download, window from apple says thank you for downloading quicktime,
It's going straight to the Thank You without first showing you the Run/Save dialog?
If so, that can be caused by Pop-up blockers and/or web accelerators.
If you switch off all your pop-up blockers and/or web accelerator, does the download proceed properly?

  • Quicktime will not download and install

I had to reinstall windows and all of my programmes i just downloaded the newest iTunes but Quick time appears not to intall along with it. i tried intalling the stand alone quicktime but all i got was the picture viewer.. Am i missing something where is Quick time? HELP!! i just spent hr's copying video from my digital camcorder

    Hi, Irish,
Try using CCleaner (that stands for "crap" cleaner) to do a good uninstall of QT. Go to ccleaner.com.
Then install the standalone version 7.0.3 of QT. Do not install version 7.0.4 if you're using XP.
    Good luck!
    Tom.

  • Quicktime 7.7.5 will not download to my pc (8.1).

Quicktime 7.7.5 will not download to my Lenovo laptop (8.1). The Apple "Thanks for downloading " page appears, but no file transfer is made to my machine. I use Windows Defender, but no other security software. I am the admin and sole user.

It sounds like the QuickTime installer downloaded but hasn't been run. Where it's saying "thanks for downloading". See if you can find a folder named Downloads it should be in there. Or do a search for QuickTimeInstaller.exe and run it.

  • QuickTime will not launch

QuickTime will not launch on my computer. I click on the QuickTime icon on the button bar and it just won't open. The colorful little circle just spins forever. I have to force quit every time. I've reinstalled it from the internet download and same condition. The computer is new - 1 month old with all the necessary updates that have come through software updater. Is there something I'm missing or a quick fix out there? Clicking on downloaded wma and wmv's same scenario.

Ok, let's say I opened Apple page, and went to QuickTime. There are many trairols and ads there, but when I try to play any of them, I see a dimmed Q logo with a quistion mark inside it in the place where QuickTime should play!!!
Is there a missing plug in?, I downloaded and re-installed QuickTime several times now, but with same results. Any clue?
BTW, when I right click any ad, or trailor, I found that I can download the file on disktop, and then play it normally.

  • Apple programs, Help, Mail, iTunes, Safari, Quicktime will not launch.

Recently we downloaded some upgrades from Apple and now Help, Mail, iTunes, Safari and Quicktime will not launch. The icon dances on the dock, and the operating system records the program as having opened, but the program does not come up and the icon menu on the dock still displays open rather than quit. I have tried re-installing the programs to no avail.

"Repair disk was unable to repair these"
Any one of the following may fix the directory damage:
    DiskWarrior
Highly recommended for *directory damage* repairs.
    TechTool Pro
    Multi-functional utility.
    Drive Genius Multi-functional utility.
You will need to make your own decision on which to purchase. Read up on them on their websites because each does something a little different.
You must use the versions that are compatible w/your OS system & keep the utilities updated to avoid damaging/harming/trashing your system.

  • Itunes or quicktime will not open

I just purchased ipod and I downloaded itunes. at first it worked correctly, then it stopped opening and quicktime will not open either. I have tried re-installing numerous times to no avail. All the error message says unknown error send or don't send to MS. I am starting to get frustrated over this. It has taken up so much time. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME????

Hi Dave. Many thanks for your response. I uninstalled iTunes and Quicktime and then reinstalled them and now I can open iTunes. I now have another problem. The music that is on my iPhone that was imported from my iTunes prior to resetting my Mac seems to be unavailable for me to play. It doesn't show up on my iPhone when it's not connected. But when I connect it to my Mac all the songs show up under the music tab of my iPhone but they are all light grey and when I click one an exclamation mark appears next to it. I've tried authorizing my account but that doesn't do anything.
If you have any idea what the problem could be I would really gratefull.

  • ITunes/Quicktime will not start.

iTunes/Quicktime will not start. Nor will anything quicktime dependant start. (Like Adobe Go Live) I recently reformated one of my Windows PCs and reinstalled m$ windows xp pro. I begain installing nessacary software and when I was done with iTunes/Quicktime (Why the heck is it now bundled?) it would not start. Could it be a codec conflict problem? I also tried reinstalling iTunes/Quciktime and nothing changed...
    Any comments would be appreciated.

    hi trackmanxs!
then i got the new quicktime and i am gettin error -1316 and -1603....someone please help
here's what we'll try first with that one.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
next use the QuickTime component of the complete uninstall instructions in the following document as a guide to a manual removal of leftover QuickTime program files and folders.
Trouble installing iPod, iTunes, or QuickTime software in Windows
once we've got all the existing QuickTime scraped away, let's try another careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
    Quicktime 7.1 Standalone Installer
if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)
    love, b

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    or here:

  • Podcast episodes will not download from podcast stream

I have set up a podcast on my website to download sermons. I created the xml file which I tested in my feeds section of my browser. The xml file works perfectly there in that all the episodes are listed with thier respective audio files. If you click on the actual audio file it downloads the way that it should and plays. I copied the xml file location and went into Itunes and chose subdcribe to a pod cast. It asked for the url which I pasted the xml file location. Itunes displayed all of my episodes the way that it should. The problem then starts. When I click on an episode to download the audio file the episode name flashes for a second or 2 in the window on top and then nothing. The audio file will not download on any of the episodes. It lists them all but other then that I can't do anything with them. My xml file location is: http://www.stpaulsconway.org/stpaulssermons.xml What could I possibly be doing wrong?

Glad to hear that you have solved your problem.
May I suggest that if you have any further questions regarding Podcasts that you are producing, that you post the question in the Producing Podcasts community, where people with more specific knowledge will be sure to help you.
Producing Podcasts is listed under Apple Support Communities/iTunes/Producing Podcasts:

  • ITunes and Quicktime will not load

Hi, when i try and load my iTunes, it will not load. It has been working fine for months, but has recently stopped!
When i try and load iTunes, i am given the standard Windows "iTunes has encountered a problem" screen with the error message of:
    Error Signature
    AppName: itunes.exe
    AppVer: 6.0.0.3
    ModName: quicktimeStreamingAuthoring.QTX
    ModVer: 7.0.3.50
    OffSet: 00016cb9
So i "Repaired" iTunes, which didnt fix the problem, i uninstalled it, which also didnt fix it.
Then i decided to try and uninstall Quicktime, due to it being the root of the problem, and i was greeted with this error:
    Error Description
    DLL function call crashed
    QTInstallCode.QuickTimeUninstallPrc
Any ideas on what is the problem, and how to fix it?! Because i cannot install a new quicktime whilst this one is still on my computer, and i cant get it off!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Matt

Okay... I'm waiting for this answer too!! Exact problem...was working fine now I get the "Itunes has encountered a problem...." I attempted to run Quicktime (it is needed, I understand) but now it will not run. I uninstalled all (could not even find Quicktime) and attempted to reinstall. Itunes apparently reinstalled but Quicktime will not... and now nothing is running.

  • Itunes will not open and quicktime will not update

selecting iTunes results in popup message; 'iTunes requires Quicktime 7.5.5 or later...', but QuickTime will not open.
    Control right-click did not help.

Wow, it looks like your software is very very old.
The current version of QuickTime is 10.3.  The current version of OS X is 10.9.1.  (Your profile indicates you are running OS X 10.5.8, Leopard.  Leopard was released in 2007.)
The current version of iTunes, 11.1.4, will not run on Leopard.
Anyway, it sounds as if all your software needs extensive upgrading.  You may be using a computer that is too old to run current software.
