Quicktime will not load completely

Pop up on screen that I need to update QT to latest version. When I do this it says"info. received from the QT server is invalid". Have used QT with itunes successfully for a long time. Tried uninstalling itunes and QT and reinstalling, but the computer freezes up when it gets to "Initializing QT types"

Lets try this. Uninstall QT again from the add\remove control panel. Then do a search of the computer and remove any QT files and folders that were left behind. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32 and remove QuickTime qts and QuickTimeVR qtx.
Run this program and remove and old QT installation information

Download a new QT installer from Apple's website and install QT

In The Finders window, sidebar, click on the Home icon
(if Finder prefs. are not set to open home)

  • ITunes and Quicktime will not load

Hi, when i try and load my iTunes, it will not load. It has been working fine for months, but has recently stopped!
When i try and load iTunes, i am given the standard Windows "iTunes has encountered a problem" screen with the error message of:
    Error Signature
    AppName: itunes.exe
    AppVer: 6.0.0.3
    ModName: quicktimeStreamingAuthoring.QTX
    ModVer: 7.0.3.50
    OffSet: 00016cb9
So i "Repaired" iTunes, which didnt fix the problem, i uninstalled it, which also didnt fix it.
Then i decided to try and uninstall Quicktime, due to it being the root of the problem, and i was greeted with this error:
    Error Description
    DLL function call crashed
    QTInstallCode.QuickTimeUninstallPrc
Any ideas on what is the problem, and how to fix it?! Because i cannot install a new quicktime whilst this one is still on my computer, and i cant get it off!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Matt

Okay... I'm waiting for this answer too!! Exact problem...was working fine now I get the "Itunes has encountered a problem...." I attempted to run Quicktime (it is needed, I understand) but now it will not run. I uninstalled all (could not even find Quicktime) and attempted to reinstall. Itunes apparently reinstalled but Quicktime will not... and now nothing is running.

  • Safari will not load completely, just the top line

safari will not open completely, just the top line appears. I have an Imac oper at 10.5.8

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Web Pages will not load completely or respond to my action

I open Firefox and my home pages do not load properly or completely, nor will any of my commands work. I uninstalled
Firefox, downloaded and installed a new firefox and it is still doing the same exact thing.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

  • IGoogle will not load completely

Since installing Firefox 5.0, iGoogle will not finish loading (or takes more than 5 minutes). IE8 loads iGoogle normally. Firefox 5.0 load Google immediately.
While waiting for iGoogle to finish load there is a status box that says "Read www-opensocial.googleusercontent.com". If you open another tab and go to that URL it says "Error 404 not Found".
Problem has been reported to Google Help forum (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Web+Search/thread?tid=0cef36810af2587e&hl=en)
Erasing all cookies and history does not resolve the problem.
Re-installing Firefox 5.0 does not resolve the problem.

This problem is intermittent, but occurs frequently.
Re-installed FF5 after manually deleteing all caches and cookies. Short term fix (Problem returned next FF5 session).
Reset iGoolge. Short term fix (Problem returned next FF5 session).
Problem does NOT occur when I go to www.google.com or logout of iGoogle and the go to www.google.com/ig.
Problem does not occur on IE8.
Add-ons include Adblock Plus, Microsoft .NET framework and AVG Safe Search (disabled)
Sometimes I get "Waiting for www.google.com..."

  • Pogo games will. not load completely

I have followed all of the steps with the flash help and still cannot get my games to load.

I too have the same problem. I went back to an older version of firefox in order to get my pogo games to work. I would imagine that any site using the java applets will not work with firefox. There is something in the new update that causes the applet to crash or break when started in the newest full version of firefox. I hope they get this bug fixed soon, I like to keep my software as up to date as possible.

  • I tunes store will not load completely there is no error code either

I tunes store is not loading bar gets half way then stops there is no error code.

My Classic on Windows7 also started the same iTunes Store half load & freeze, or blank page, a couple of weeks ago.  I tried an old computer with XP and iTunes Store loads on the same LAN!  After trying diversions from support (uninstall/install, etc.), they suggested paying for support.
I see by these discussions that I am not alone.  Let's hope that they realize that we cannot buy if they do not fix it.

  • Quicktime will not load Apple iPhone OS4 Keynote from Safari

(iMac) I have been trying to watch the OS4 keynote off the apple website for a few days now. When i press watch it loads up quicktime and all i get is a white background with a quicktime logo with a loading dotted bar at the bottom. It does this with the HD version as well. I have a good broadband connect and i have already tried and archive and install and also removed codecs from the system library to no avail. I can watch the january iPad announcement but only in standard format and not the HD format.
I can however watch the OS4 keynote on my macbook which has many of the same codecs as my iMac and it loads the video perfectly. Even in the glorious HD quality without any delays.
I am completely stuck and i am wondering if anyone else is having the same issue?

I was not posting to you but to the originator of this thread.
The reason that threadjacking is frowned on (as mentioned in the terms use which you can read by clicking the link to the right on this page) is for the most part a practical one:
By starting your own thread your problem can get individual attention, focussed on your particular set of circumstances.
By joining somebody else's thread it becomes tricky to answer more than one question at the same time, and can lead to confusion for both parties.
So if you don't mind the minor inconvenience, please start your own thread so we can get to grips with your particular problem!

  • ITunes 7 and Quicktime will not load on my PC

Hi world. Firstly Merry Christmas to those who celebrate a great time of the year. My problem is that I have purchased an IPod classic for my son(80GB)for
X-mas and I am TRYING to pre load with some music etc so it is rady to play with on chritmas morning. When I download either Quicktime or Itunes 7 to my PC (windows) it gets to a point where it says "cannot open Quicktimeplayerlib.Quicktimeplayer: error while opening key".
I have been into this location via "regedit" and opened up access but that has not fixed the problem.
ANYBODY got a solution PLEASE. countdown to Christmas is closing.
I have tried the Apple tech help and there is no help on this one.
I am in Sydney Australia so we are one of the first to hit Christmas day
    Thanks

I have the same problem.  EXACTLY the same problem.

  • Quicktime will not load any video streams

Whenever I try to watch any Apple keynote presentations (e.g. from WWDC) Quicktime loads a window and then I wait... and wait. But nothing happens - only a blue bar flashing back and forth. This has happened ever since I moved from Panther on an iBook to Tiger on a MacBook and now Leopard. What's the problem?

If you do a search of these forums you will find many solutions to your Keynote problem. Perhaps one of them will work for you.
    Good luck!

  • Will Download, will not load completely

Using either IE or FF to download gets to a certain point (90 something percent of installation) and then asks for  a cd to be inserted in the drive for 10.1 to complete the install. Of course, I do not have or ever had a CD for reader so I have to cancel . Win7 Home Prem. 8g mem,the Poderosa of disk space, quad core. I have tried all the "sure fire ways" Adobe says to try to get it to load but no success. Help! It won't dowload ver 9 because it says I have a more up to date version, oh yeah where would that be because I am unable to read any PDF's.

You may want to try the following.
Remove all traces of Reader (not only the program) from your system using  the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. This is no longer supported by Microsoft because it can produce problems with Win 7, but you can still download it from from places like
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Then, download the Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
    and perform a clean install.

  • Windows quicktime will not load

On Windows XP.  Quicktime starts then hangs at "Loading".  I've uninstalled, reinstalled several times.
    Any ideas?

Solved the problem late last night.  Not your suggestion.  When Itunes could not connect to the server I googled the problem.  Turns out something (I think Avasts VPN) had set IE to use a proxy.  Turtned that off and Quicktime and I tunes worked.  Also, I still use Eudora for email and graphics were not displaying.  After the above, they displayed again.
    So all is well.

  • Quicktime Will Not Load?

The content guide that loads in the Player is just a Web page:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/
Don't know why your machine gives it trouble from loading.

  • Videos, reguardless of the website, will not load completely and never finish buffering, allowing me to finish watching them.

Videos just won't load over >50% and most of the time it's less than that. It's not even just youtube either. It's all online videos.

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
