Quicktime won't start in Lion

Question

Hello,
I've noticed a number of problems with QuickTime and Lion in these discussions, though none the same as mine.
For me, after upgrading to Lion, QuickTime won't launch at all. I don't use Perian, I uninstalled Flip4Mac, I removed the DviX plugin, have only the two remaining Apple components, I've started the computer in Safe Mode, I tried starting QuickTime holding down alt-cmd, I used disk utility to fix the permissions, I've tried different user accounts ... all to no avail.
This is QuickTime 10.1 that came with Lion. I also have QuickTime 7 Pro, and it works fine.
This is on an iMac 24" 2.8 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme. I also upgraded a newer iMac 27" bought last November and did not have this problem even though the computers file systems are nearly mirrored.

Is your MB a Pro Duo machine? (That's the model that works with Lion.) It's hard to tell what your model is, but the fact that it's a black MB suggests that this might be a consideration.
Post back here with the model number of your machine, and we'll be able to shave down the culprits.
