Quicktime won't uninstall--probably uninstalled other programs in the wrong order?

Hello,
I was trying to permenantly uninstall a number of apple products from my windows 7 computer recently. I uninstalled iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support and then when I tried to uninstall Quicktime it wouldn't uninstall. I later found out that I probably uninstalled them in an order that messed around with the files for Quicktime. Right now I'm getting an error message when I try to remove Quicktime through the Control Panel that reads:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'QuickTime.msi' in the box below.
And then the source box goes to a temporary file in my local AppData.
This dialogue box is popping up if I try to change, repair, or uninstall Quicktime. What can I do?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATION" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up").
In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC. Now try another QuickTime (or iTunes) install. Does it go through properly this time?

Other programs on the Touch?

Does any one know if it is possible to run any other programs (besides the ones apple includes) on the new ipod touch? Specifically, I am hoping it would be able to run a few programs for PDA and Palm Pilots. I'm a med student and I have been holding out on buying a PDA with hopes that apple would come to my rescue and create one....but no luck yet! So if anyone knows if programs like epocrates, or merkmedicus, or any other PDA/Palm programs will run?
PS And can you download things from webpages and have them saved to the ipod?

Two things:
1) The Touch has not been jailbreaked yet, and until this happens nothing can be loaded onto it such as third party apps.
2) Even if the Touch is jailbreaked, the apps you mentioned, such as eopcrates, have to be written and compiled for the Touch OS. As of right now they have not been.

(I-Pad) I have rent a v film and received a message that the movie will expire in two days but can't close the message window anymore, hence I have no access to any other program on the I-Pad anymore

I have rent a film and received a message from I-tunes that the film will expire in two days. Even though I have confirmed the message by pressing ok the message window is not closing anymore, hence can't use anz other program of the I-Pad 2 anymore. Does anzbody in the forum experienced anything similar? If yes what is the solution to it?

Quit all apps and restart the iPad. Then try the video in the video app.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If by some chance you cannot go to the home screen, force quit iTunes by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears. Let go of the sleep button and then press and hold down on the home button until iTunes closes. Then restart the iPad as described above.

Finder won't stay selected if other programs open and can't open new window

I have just noticed a new problem. If other programs are open, Finder won't stay selected program. If I alt tab to it or click on it in dock, it shows on menu bar for a half second and goes away. If I right click on icon in dock and select open new window, it will not do so. If I select a folder from the desktop, it opens in Finder with no problem and I can move within the Finder at will.
I have updated all software. I am running the current Macbook Pro 15in. No other problems noted so far.

Do you have another account you can log into?
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for action in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport in 10.4 & below, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Stuffit AVR has been a big one, if you have that use the Pref Pane to turn it off, but others have been implicated too. Check System Preferences for a Stuffit Pref Pane and disable AVR.

Software corrupting other programs or the OS

A question for experts:
In the context of earlier serious corruption of my iMac (now cured) unconected with this utility, here is part of a conversation wirh a Mac software company whose site states that its product is not yet fully compatible with M.Lion:
Question: "How convinced are you that if I avoid the problem area, Snapz Pro X (Movie) will not corrupt my Mac?"
Answer: "I am convinced because software does not work that way. Everything is in its own little space. Just don't install the the AmbrosiaAudioSupport kernel extension (KEXT) and you won't have a problem."
I know that the Mac's OS has for some time had a feature whereby each program lives in its own area, protected from interference from other programs. But does this mean:
That the code for every (eg., application or utility) program is protected from corruption in another program;
Or that the whole OS is protected in that way?;
Or both?
The answer I got seems rather idealistic. Is it?

If that program isn't supported, don't install it. In Mountain Lion, Apple included sandboxing, and every app works so that doesn't affect to the other applications. The kext is an extension, and a problem with that can freeze Mountain Lion or that appears a kernel panic.
Apple has got all of their apps sandboxed, the same for the App Store. You can install Lion if you need the program

IPhone 4 won't charge on any other chargers just the one it came with.

I bought my phone from ebay and it came with a charger and a wall charger. My phone will not work with any other chargers just the one it came with. The charger works, but it won't forever, when it comes time to buy a new charger I'm scared it won't work with my phone. I have used my old chargers and my sisters chargers all with different wall chargers as well and they didn't work! What is the cause of this problem?

y is this iphone 4 problem in the ipad section. did u mean u got an ipad? becuase if thats the case then its entirely possible that u have an ipad adaptor and the reason its not working with the other adaptors is because they are not enough wats and they are meant for iphones. the charger used should make a difference though.

I am curious if other programs use the F7 ket for the Caret control?

I apparently solved my scrolling problem with the F7 key. I also noticed a big improvement with my mouse control in another program.

Yes they do. What I know IE8 uses the F7 function.

Why is my QuickTime Pro exporting image sequences in the wrong order?

I am making timelapse films and using QuickTime Pro to export the images as a movie file. I have all the images in a folder named numericaly. I go file>import image sequence click on the first image and import. The images are in the correct order in the source folder I have also checked the resource files under show movie properties and they are in the correct order there. I then export as a QuickTime movie file at 1080p H.264 the film is stepping and the frames are out of sequence in the eported movie file. Why is this? Has anyone come across this before?

Not sure. I would likely test an x264 export of the image sequence from QT 7 Pro or MPEG Streamclip (or from HandBrake if your system is not configured with the x264 codec) and see if the result was any better. This is not a problem I run into very often and, even then, the files were sent to me with no real indication of how they were originally encoded.
Or do you know how I can analise the exported file?
Not really... but it would be nice to have a tool which indicated the current frame type and listed pointers to frames/stacks of frames used for rendering reference.

Quicktime won't load - along with another program

Fairly new computer, programs already on machine work fine and load with no problem. I installed ULead VS 10+, installed no prob, but won't load. Switched to Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0, install fine, won't load. Downloaded the latest Quicktime, installed fine, won't load. Had my firewall/AV off when installing and trying to load. The weird thing is, I installed Abdobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 and it worked fine. Also installed Window Washer and it works fine. Trying to figure out if something on my machine is not allowing certain programs to load b/c of a Quicktime file?

Think I might've discovered part of the problem. I'm seeing a Quicktime for Windows (32 bit) under my Add/Remove Progams. Can't remove it there, tells me it can't find a current version of QT, if I have an older version I can use the QT installer to remove it. Tried using the windows uninstall through All Programs, but get same error message. Tried using Add/Remove to get rid of my current 7.1.3 version, but it comes up with a fatal error message. How can I remove the QT 32 bit and the QT 7.1.3? I think if I could get rid of all that and reinstall 7.1.3, that might solve my prob.

Firefox won't open links from other programs if already running

I've seen this reported many other places, but none of the solutions have worked. I am running Firefox v33.0.2 (current as of this message) on Windows 7 64-bit (fully updated). I did the following:
1. Completely deleted my profile;
2. Uninstalled Firefox, then manually deleted all remaining files on the system pertaining to Firefox and rebooted;
3. Gone into the Windows "Default Programs" control panel (DPCP) and told it to make Internet Explorer the default (giving it all of its defaults);
4. Downloaded a fresh copy of the installer and installed Firefox 33.0.2;
5. Let the installer set my default browser to Firefox;
6. Tested link opening behaviour (see below);
7. Let Firefox set itself as the default browser when it asked me;
8. Tested link opening behaviour again (see below);
9. With Firefox not running, gone back into the DPCP, and had it set all of Firefox's defaults;
10. Tested link opening behaviour again (see below);
11. With Firefox not running, set Internet Explorer to the default via the DPCP, then back to Firefox;
12. Tested link opening behaviour again (see below);
13. Repeated steps 11 and 12 with Firefox in safe-mode;
14. Repeated steps 11 and 12 with Firefox in normal-mode with a new profile;
The observed link-opening behaviour:
- Internet shortcuts (i.e., actual shortcut files on, say, the Desktop) open in Firefox without issue whether or not Firefox is already running. When this approach is taken, no additional firefox.exe processes are created. The process does not have any command-line parameters per Task Manager;
- Links clicked in Thunderbird open correctly if Firefox is not running: one new firefox.exe process is created, I get a new Firefox window and the link loads correctly. The firefox.exe process does not have any command-line parameters per Task Manager;
- Links clicked in Thunderbird yield the "Firefox is already running, but is not responding" message if Firefox is already running. In this case, I see a second firefox.exe process created. Per Task Manager, the new process has the command-line arguments '-osint -url "FOO"' where FOO is the URL I clicked.
From these observations I believe that the link hand-off behaviour is broken. I use a single profile using the as-installed shortcuts.

Update: Updated to 33.1, still broken.

Under Tools > Options > Advanced look to see if the "check if Firefox is default browser on startup" Check this and then restart FF. If it isn't the default it should ask if you want to make it the default. Choose yes and it should open when clicking links again.

When i click on links in other programs, where the link should automaticly open in firefox, nothing happens. Firefox is my primary.

Example:
software for games, where developers post headlines for news. Those are actualy hyperlinks, and should automaticly open in firefox, when customer clicks on the headline. When i click on a headline, nothing happens. They just stopped working a while ago, which is pretty frustrating. Firefox is my primary web browser.
Please help, becouse I've searched and never found a solution for this issue.

This is a known bug, and has been for years. It occurs when Firefox is your default browser and some glitch (or program) changes that default. Thankfully, there's a fairly easy fix, though it does involve monkeying around in the Registry.
(Note: These instructions apply to Windows Vista and 7 only.)
1. Click Start, type regedit, and then press Enter.
2. Navigate to the following entry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL\shell\open\ddeexec
3. In the center pane, double-click the Default entry, then remove whatever value is there (it'll probably be a weird string of numbers and commas).
4. Click OK, then exit Regedit.
5. If Outlook and/or Firefox are open, close them, then restart them.

I am using windows 7 pro this issue has drove me crazy for some time, now finally it's fixed by doing the exact same steps as above, hope this works for everybody that is having this problem. I just had to share this with my fellow firefox users. :)

Can someone tell me if it is safe to install thunderbird are will it go overtop of my other mail do not no whether to install this program or not I do not want it to overrrite my other program with the postage stamp on the dock

Mail.app is one app and Thunderbird is an entirely distinct app. It has nothing in common with Mail.app other than it being just another mail program. It also won't just automatically replace your existing mail program. Just like mail.app you need to configure it's preferences for the desired mail server, account(s), etc.
I've never used Thunderbird but if it's a halfway civilized mail program then it should also give you the choice of leaving the mail on your server. So you could test it out without removing the mail on your server and Mail.app should be none the wiser.

Other program updates the timesatmp created by extractor

I have come up with one more doubt .
Because of some requiremnt I want to make changes in the records which were already uploded by the Extractor to BW.
To reflect the change in the records I want to upload those records again to BW in the next Data upload.
(I am using generation date as the timesatamp for Delta Upload which is the generation date of the records and is one of the field in the records)
I am storing the Timestamp in a table pa0439.
Th program which will make the change in records will simultaneously change the timesatmp in pa0439 ,such that these records can also be oicked up by the Extractor function module.
The question is : will the extractor be able to transfer all the records to BW (including the modified one) .
or the extrator stores the last Timesatmp some where internally ,and will not let me upload the previous results.

Barcodes are interpreted by the barcode reader and translated into text so the compatibility is not a forms issue. You need to know which flavour of barcode is being produced and get a suitable reader. Get one which connects between the keyboard and PC/terminal, then from form's point of view it is exactly the same as normal keyboard entry. Also make sure the reader can append a RETURN on the output to fire validation/navigation without operator intervention.

Bluetooth Problems when running other programes in the background

I have been experiening problems with the bluthooth conenctivity on my 2012 Macbook Air.
It is the 2.0GHZ i7 8GB RAm with 256Gb flash storage model released June 2012.
I use it in clamsehll mode hoked up to an external HD monitor using the Mini display port to HDMI adaptor and then link it to an external LG soundbar using bluetooht for audio.
No other device has any issue linking ot the LG soundbar but when i am using my Macbook air and downloading something, even a tiny file that might only be goign at a speed of a few kb/s ( I have very slow internet speed ) it casues the bluetooth to cut out every 5-10 seconds and then some times it will work for an hour uninterupted.
The only other bluthooth device I have connected is my Magic Trackpad and I have tried it without this with the same results occuring.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so has nayone found a soltuion so that i can run a basic video file and hear the sound clearly and uninteruopted while using my Macbook to to run some other vey basic tasks in the background?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believe the process to do this is to:
1) Go to transaction SM36 to create a batch job.
2) Enter a job name
3) Select "Step", specify the ABAP program name (for ME2M, this is RM06EM00), then type in the variant you wish to use
4) Save, then go to Start Condition and specify when you want this batch job to run, along with the frequency
Edit - nevermind, I misunderstood the issue. I am unsure of how to have the layout automatically populated.
