WRT54G v4 won't work in PPPoE mode...
WRT54G v4 won't work in PPPoE mode...
For the past few years, I've had my WRT54G v4 set up to run in PPPoE mode. My Siemens Speedstream 5200 is set to run in Bridge Mode. It's worked fine for a long time. If I ever ran into a problem, I could always simply reset both, re-do all the settings, and it'd be fine.
Today I come home from work, it's not working at all. I reset the settings, redo everything, still not working. I do this a few times. It repeatedly just won't connect to anything. The DSL modem activity lights are flashing, everything is normal, the Status page in my Linksys setup all reads fine (it's connecting through the modem like it should, acquiring an IP address, etc). So, I decide I'm gonna reset the modem and try bypassing the Linksys.
That turns out to work just fine.
So I reset the Linksys, hook my PC back up to the Linksys, and everything is fine. But here's the rub...
If I try to bridge the modem and put the Linksys in PPPoE mode, it simply stops working. If I put it back into DHCP mode and reset the DSL modem, it still won't work. Once it enters PPPoE mode, the Linksys simply stops working as it should. Nothing besides a reset will make it start working.
Any suggestions/explanations as to what would cause this? I'm completely baffled, personally. I'm running the DSL modem in it's normal state and the Linksys in DHCP but I really prefer it the other way. I just can't figure out why it isn't working.
So, to sum up:
1. Connection is fine when going straight through the DSL modem.
2. Connection is fine when routed through the Linksys into the DSL modem with the Linksys in DHCP mode.
3. Once DSL modem is set to Bridge Mode and Linksys to PPPoE, I lose internet connectivity. No DNS, nothing.
4. Even if I change the settings back to DHCP, it still will not work. I must manually reset the router's settings using the reset button, doing the same with the DSL modem.
Any suggestions? I've tried everything I can possibly think of.You need to Upgrade the Router's firmware in order to get the connection work again with PPPoE...
Download 2.95 MB...Once the Firmware has been downloaded you need to unzip the firmware file, it will unzip 3 files, you need the .bin file...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful" After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router... -

Quicktime won't work on my new iMac?
Hi all,
I've just got myself a new iMac, did a migration of all the stuff of my old Powerbook G4 and now Quicktime won't work!!
I had a Pro version of QT 7 but now it states I just have the free version! I did a software update and it told me to update QT, I tried but software update kept telling me that it cannot save the QT update. So in my frustration I deleted QT and decided to download it directly off the Apple site....it downloaded and then stated it can't mount the disk image...what on earth is going on, can anyone help?
ThanksYou must purchase a new QT key for each computer.
Since you have a new iMac, you are entitled to 90 days of FREE phone tech support from Apple and you can use the Chat with a Support Agent. The online chat support _*is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.*_
If you've purchased an AppleCare Protection Plan, you're eligible for the duration of that agreement. -
Does anyone know why export to audio disappear from menu in 64bit mode?
Why detect cuts command is not working well in 64 bit mode?
I tested on several machines (brand-new iMac, brand-new MacPro with 10.8 OS, MacPro with 10.6.8),and everythig wotks in 32 bit mode. As I switch to 64 bit mode detect cuts only put one marker at the begening of film.
I also noticed that Firewire output option in 64bit mode is not avaible.
Is there a certain film format that I have to use to make it work? I tried DV PAL, but I had ther same result.
Thanks a lot.Hi
Those functions are not available when Logic is running in 64bit mode

Remote Desktop Shortcuts won't work in FULLSCREEN mode
Hello,
I found lots of
shortcuts won’t work during remote desktop connection between Win7 64 host (home premium) to Win 7 64 guest (professional):
Include:
ALP+PAGE UP/PAGE DOWN
CTRL + ALT + ±
In order to make them work I need to exit full screen mode of remote desktop first (can be done with CTRL+ALT+BREAK)
Is there any fix?
BobHi,
Have you check the "Local Resources" under Remote Desktop Connection "properties",? just as screen shot below:
You can also test this issue with On-screen keyboard, check if issue persists.

Quicktime won't work on Firefox
Quicktime 7.1.5 won't work on Firefox 2.0.0.3. Any ideas as to why?
Thanks!!Jesus Christ, how tedious. Can I just revert to a previous Firefox somewhere in the 3.xxx range where everything worked just fine? I am MacBook Pro laptop. Are you sure you're giving me mac instructions and not PC instructions? This looks more like a PC fix than a mac fix. The exact same problem is happening on my girlfriend's mac computers. I may have to go back to Safari which works just fine and plays the MP3s. This is a very bad happenstance if Firefox is so screwy that everyone has to do all the crap listed above just to get an MP3 to play. This is something Firefox should fix instead of having all Firefox users be confronted with such a glitch. Bad Firefox, Bad Firefox!!!!!

Can't upgrade to iTunes 10.3.1 because quicktime won't work
I attempted to upgrade to iTunes 10.3.1 but it won't work because "quicktime failed." How do I upgrade now?
Update to 10.5.1. Itunes 10.2.1 is out of date by now and won't be possible. Update to the newest version and you shouldn't have a problem

Apple External Modem FAX Does Not work in 64bit mode
Apple needs to update its Fax Driver to 64bit mode. Since upgrading to the i7 in 10.6.6, the system boots in 64bit mode which is great! Except i can't fax anymore from my MacBook. Research has shown that it only works in 32bit mode. I do not want to boot in 32 at this point. Anybody know of any other solutions, external fax modems or 64bit drivers or software that will work with the Apple External modem?
I am having similar issue. I can't order a new McBook Pro until I know I can fax directly from it ... its essential for me. I'm shocked no one as addressed your concern. Is Apple so arrogant when it comes to their business customers that they abandon fax/telephony technology with out a fall back position or warning to users?
I got used to Microsoft arrogance; but I was hoping more user concern from Apple. -
Upgraded flash player, now it won't work (Win7 64bit, IE9)
I upgraded Flash Player last night, and now it won't work, period. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling ad nauseum, but to no avail. Based on some of the troubleshooting information, it looks like it's not appearing in IE's list of add-ons, but I don't know how to fix it so that it does - the install insists it's successful every time.
Anyone know what's going on?If I go to the versions page, it wants me to install Adobe Flash (again), regardless of how many times I've run the installation before.

External Display won't work in clamshell mode
Hi - I can't get my external display to work with the MacBook in clamshell mode - It works fine with the lid open.
I'm using it with the apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
I've obviously changed a setting without realising - can anyone help.
Thank You.
Ash
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010)
Mac OS X 10.6.8Sorry - I've now got it to work.
I don't know how - I just went through all the settings one by one, switched them off and back on again and it now works - I have to assume it is 'user error' but I can't work out which bit -
Quicktime won't work or update
I was starting to use a piece of software that uses Quicktime and it said it would not work. It is for Olympus camera and it has worked in the past but it has been since December since I used it.
I believe it is QT 5 that came with the software. I tried to reload the program and Quick timew - it seems to go through the motions and then comes back and says quicktime hasn't installed.
If I go to Start - All Programs - it is not there. If I go to explorer - there is a file of QT. I tried downloading the version 7 - it will not load.
So what do I do?
So how do I get quicktime to install and work.
All my other programs workOther information:
I get a Message: QT failed to run Error 2085
another when I log on to this site - Error 0
I tried installing 6.3 and had the same problem.
I think in the past when I tried to run Adobe Premiere essentials - the version 7 froze everything so we wnt backwards and removed all Version7 and unloaded adobe .
But I am unable to load anything now and I do not want the current version since it freezes everything up. -
siri does not respond in data mode. I have tried resetting, restarting, turning siri on/off, data mode on/off. Siri is not available in data mode. My carrier is AT&T.
What do you mean "data mode?" Do you mean you are on AT&T's network as opposed to Wi-Fi? Does it work on Wi-Fi?
