Just installed the latest upgrade for iTunes. Cannot open iTunes store?

    Hey there Ray Neilson,
It sounds like you are able to open iTunes but cannot access the store. I recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
    Troubleshoot issues in Windows
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store for more than a day (and other customers on our discussion boards aren't experiencing similar issues) a software or Internet service provider (ISP) configuration issue may be blocking your access to the iTunes Store. Find out which ports and servers need to be allowed for iTunes Store access.
Update iTunes to the latest version.
If iTunes Store appears empty and only displays the message iTunes Store, follow these steps.
Try the steps to troubleshoot iTunes Store connectivity in Windows.
As with all firewalls not manufactured by Apple, you may need to configure Windows Firewall to allow iTunes to access the iTunes Store. Follow these steps for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
Try disabling any proxies built-in to Windows. You should avoid proxies because they can cause issues.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are enabled over your network.
Note: The hosts file may be blocking the iTunes Store.Microsoft's article How do I reset the hosts file back to the default? has instructions and a FixIt to have Windows try to reset the hosts defaults for you.Note: Some workplaces may put internal resources in the hosts file and may block iTunes Store. The FixIt doesn't work for Windows 8.To create a copy of your hosts file and replace it with an empty hosts file, follow the instructions below:
You can find the hosts file at: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC.
Select the hosts file. There should now be a duplicate of the hosts file named "Copy of hosts" (Windows XP) or "hosts-copy" (Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8).
Drag the original hosts file to your desktop.
Right-click the duplicate file and choose Open. You may be prompted to choose the program you want to use to open this file. Double-click Notepad.
When Notepad opens, choose Edit > Select All.
    Choose Edit > Delete.
    Choose File > Save.
    Close Notepad.
Right-click the duplicate file, and choose Rename.
Type "hosts" (without quotation marks) and press Enter.
Restart your computer and try connecting to the iTunes Store.
If you still can't connect to the iTunes Store, your security software or firewall may be blocking the ability of iTunes to communicate with the Internet. Learn how to resolve security software issues.
If the issue persists, try the troubleshooting in this article:

How can i restore my iphone which was erased by iCloud?? I got my phone back but it wont work when i connect to iTunes.

The following assumes you've been backing up to icloud all along.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your device.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.
Let us know if this method does not work.

i am russian remuved itunes at all i wont instal folder C:/Program files/itunes what i must do

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Previously good songs became corrupted when I upgraded to Itunes V7.

I have the problem with previously good songs becoming corrupted when I upgraded to Itunes V7. I have the same songs on 3 computers and all were corrupted when I updated the software. This is clearly an Itunes bug and not a driver issue as the same exact songs were effected on three very different machines once each was updated.

  • System tells me quicktime not installed when trying to update to CC

updating to CC; takes a long time then I get an alert to say quicktime not installed, so some features will not be available. If I click to continue, I notice I do not have H264 compression available as a render option, (don't know if this is related!) I'm on Mac 10.8.4  - Quicktime player is installed cheers Alistair

You are seeing two unrelated things.
    First, about H.264, see this:

  • Itunes and quicktime wont open when click on it

    Hi,
I am unable to open Itunes or Quicktime on my netbook. I have tried reinstalling the software but it wont work. Please can someone advise how I can get it working.
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

In recent times, the error-message-free iTunes and QuickTime launch failures have been indicating that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files. (Those sorts of applications often use the Visual C++ runtimes to keep track of the componentry, so it seems consistent that an update to those could cause the symptoms to flare up on a PC.)
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit Windows 7, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit Windows 7, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

  • Itunes and Quicktime wont install

When I tried to update my iTunes and Quicktime recently, it succesfully downloaded, began installing, and once the progress hit Quicktime, and error showed "an older version of quicktime cannot be removed." Now the issue is, that before this happened, the update had already removed the older version of iTunes. However, it was unable to install the newest version due to this quicktime issue. So here I sit. Help?
    -D

once the progress hit Quicktime, and error showed "an older version of quicktime cannot be removed."
Most probably that's an issue with the installation database in the QuickTime.msi file.
Unfortunately, these sorts of msi-related troubles have gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we need to hunt down a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for *at least version 3.0* of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes 9.2 again. Does the install go through properly this time?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • ITunes 7.0.2. wont install because Quicktime wont install

I've been trying to install iTunes 7.0.2 on my computer for WEEKS but the installation always encountered a problem: the programme always stopped just as it was computing Sapce requirements for Quicktime. An error message saying "Invalid drive: U:/" appeared and then "Cannot install QuickTime. ITunes requires Quicktime" or something like that. And then the installation aborted. There isnt a drive U: on my computer and I didn't understand why this was occuring.
My brother had been suffering from a similar problem, whereby installation always failed under the same circumstances only asking for a (valid) network path on another computer of his (it asked for //Computer/My Documents instead of U:) He managed to solve the error by connecting to the network path and re-running the installer.
The solution to my problem was much the same. I got a USB flashdrive, plugged it in an using the Disk Manager
(Start>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Manager Right click on the USB disk and select Change Drive letter) created a disk U:
    Problem solved.

I'm trying to figure out if this was a problem with my computer or something to do with the iTunes 7.0.2 installer.
My computer met all the system requirements (256RAM, 500MHz processor - I actually installed extra RAM to see if it would solve the problem!) when the problem was occuring. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?

  • Itunes wont install update recent upgrade

    Hi there.
Upon purchasing my ipod photo, I installed itunes from the CD. Then upgraded to version 6.0.1.3. For many months the itunes ran smoothly, and trouble free.
Yesterday I downloaded 6.0.4.2. Virus scanned the .exe file and installed the update. Errors were recreated during the installation, resulting in the standard windows error occurring before installation was complete.
Therefore I unstalled the update, and restalled update again - still no good.
I assumpted the update was corrupted upon download, so i re-downloaded the file again, and install the file, with the same problem occurring again.
I have also tried installed the older version 6.0.1.3. Installation now fails with the old version which use to work beforehand.
Upon installing the orginal CD software, the error still occurs.
I have unstalled, both quicktime, and the ipod with itunes in an attempted to solve this problem. I'm stoked.
Please help. Remember I'm running XP64 pro.
