QuickTimeX screen Capture and FCE3.5

Quick question.
Wanted to capture my screen and bring it into a FCE3.5 project.
Given that QTX can now do this I thought I\'d use it.
Captured my screen
Tried to Import the mov file into FCE and get the following error: File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown.
Works fine however in iMovie
What am I missing? Or what can QTX do that FCE can't read?
Thanks
M.

It records in H.264 which is not a production codec, but used for delivery, like Blu-ray or web video.

Your iPhone is probably locked to your former cell carrier. In such case only that carrier can unlock it, so you'll need to contact the carrier. Note that unless things have changed recently only 3 offers unlocking. If you used a different carrier, they do not appear to offer unlocking which means that your son will not be able to use your old iPhone. But call your carrier and ask.

  • Lion, Quicktime Screen-capture, and Photoshop

I've used Quicktime's screen capture tool to create Photoshop video guides in the past and it's produced really high quality, high fps results in a small file.  However, since I've upgraded to OS X Lion, my entire computer is brought to its knees during a Photoshop recording session.  As soon as I hit record, boom - Photoshop becomes really choppy and it's almost impossible to create a decent video.
Could anyone else here with Lion do a quick test to see if you get the same results?  Just open up a Photoshop file, open Quicktime, go to New / New Screen Recording, and see if you're able to use Photoshop without any performance drop.
I'm running CS5 on a dual quad-core mac pro with 12 gigs of ram.  It's about 3 years old, but I shouldn't be running into a performance hit like this.
Any feedback on your own experience or tests would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Under OS X "Lion," every screen capture tool I have (Snapz Pro X, Screenflow, Layers, iShowU HD Pro) will no longer capture a DVD frame—if the DVD is being played by Apple's DVD Player. The resulting screen cap shows a "transparent" window. VLC still works in that regard. I've also noticed that the iTunes app no longer has a free-floating video window, which was always my preference. Videos now show within the boundaries of the iTunes window, or full-frame. One more note on Apple DVD Player is that invoking full-frame playback will slide in a new "space" with a background similar to that seen on iPads or behind the Desktop Widgets.
I realize capturing DVDs is not what you're trying to do, but all of the above indicates a complete change to the way OS X handles any streamed video. I have yet to make a test, but I suspect that output-to-NTSC through monitor ports may also be inhibited for certain things; Apple may be plugging the "analog hole" with software. My guess is that whatever background routines are responsible for this may be sufficient to slow the frame rate of your tutorial captures—in the same way that heightened security at airports now significantly slows boarding procedures.

  • Screen capture and PNG format?

    Hi,
When I use the screen capture feature (SHIFT  4) I always get a *.PNG file. Is there a way to setup the screen capture to a JPG file format as default?
    Thanks

I dont think so. I know that the Grab utility can save as TIFF, but I am not aware of it being able to save as JPEG.
However I believe that you can use Preview to export the screen image to a JPEG file. However this is not exactly what you want.
I know OSX has some frustrating features, and in some areas and ways I miss OS 9. But then again screen capture to JPEG was not available in OS 9 without third party software.

  • Screen Capture and Key logging

I understand this server software allows user workstations to act like Dumb Terminals, in that the operating system doesnt run anything on the particular users workstation hard drive.
My main interest is some security feature Ive heard that allows either Screen Capture or Video Like Playback and keystroke logging of each workstations activities:
    1.  Is that a built in feature to Share Point or must I purchase third party software?
    2.  How large of an Enterprise (#users) is SharePoint best suited for in your opinion?
    Thanks

    Hi  MultiplexUSA,
    Thank you for your posting!
Firstly, there is no built-in feature to SharePoint , I think that you need to use third party  software. Here are some softwares you can  have a look:
    Screen Capture directly to SharePoint
Secondly, it is a maximum of 5 million total simultaneous user for the entire farm and 2 million total simultaneous user for per site collection.  The SharePoint Server (Standard & Enterprise) uses
the Client Access License (CAL) model which is limited by CAL licenses per user. This CAL model does not technically limit your usage of SP. But, for legal purposes you must ensure you have the right amount of CAL for your scenario to avoid hitting a performance
    peak.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • Screen Capture and Recording

Anyone have any recommendations for Screen Capture/Recording software that is compatible with MAC. I would like to build some tutorials to illustrate some recording techniques using Logic Pro and need something that can record my steps visually and then be importable into Garage Band or iMovie as a movie file so I can layer sound over it.
I am looking at options from cheap to expensive. Any input is appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Stratosphere- Problem with Screen Capture and Group Text Reply

I have a problem with the side button that locks/unlocks the phone.  I don't know why it happens but sometimes when I press the side button to lock the phone it takes a screen shot and send its to my Gallery under the folder ScreenCapture.  I can't figure out why it does this sometimes, and when i want to actually take a screen shot I cant.
Anyone know how exactly you can take a screen shot?
Another question i have is with Group Texts.  Is there a way to reply all when I receive a text that was sent to multiple people or can I only reply to the sender?
    Hope someone can help thanks!

Hello kfeatherstone! I can provide you with instructions for taking a screenshot:
    1. Press both the Power and Home buttons briefly.
    2. You should hear a “click” sound and the screen will say “Screen captured. Saved as image file
In regards to your messaging, "reply to all" is not an available option. I hope this information helps!

  • ***Screen Capturing and Scrolling

    Hi,
Does anyone know of any software or tools where I can have automatic scrolling on web pages. I need to screen capture a long page very slowly but it comes out bumpy when I try to do it by hand. Sometimes slow, sometimes a little faster...
    Please help!

Thanks for both of your replies. I had to zoom in very closely into the webpage so a pan and scan wouldn't work, but I figured it out.
I just control click the middle wheel of my mouse on Fire Fox and when I slide the arrow close to the bottom of the screen, it starts to automatically scroll down slowly or fast depending on where I put the cursor.
    Works good, thanks.

  • HTC RYHME screen capture and also facebook share option?????

Does anyone know if there is a built in feature to capture the screen?  I used to have a blackberry, so I would do facebook A LOT and would like to know [1] how to share pictures or links through the facebook [either the HTC one or the internet explorer one] and [2] how to save images from the Internet.  I used to use screen munch with my blackberry but I can't seem to find it or anything similar through the Android Market...and I'm nervous to download some of their programs because there have been statements that some of them capture your personal information.

The phone does have the ability to screen shot! You press the power button as if locking the screen and hit the home button also and it'll pop up screenshot saved to confirm you were successful! As for sharing facebook links, it's been dependent on the website for me, and saving images, hard press on the image and it gives the option to view image, save image, etc. Hope this helps!

  • Desktop screen capture and screen clicks dropping

Two questions- I can't seem to find in the manual. 1.Can captivate record the desktop? I can't figure out how to do it. And when I record a web application, my clicks which record going from screen to screen are getting dropped. I waited to make the time lapse longer hoping that would help but it doesn't. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

    Hi there
On my old laptop I had no issues with that. But I recently moved to a new laptop with Windows 7 64 bit. I find that things are somewhat hit and miss with Captivate. It works for the most part, but the only way I was able to record creating a shortcut on the desktop was by recording in Full Motion.
Is your operating system by chance 64 bit Windows 7?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Screen Capture and Game Capture Frames are "Jittery"

I took a capture of and OpenGL game "Minecraft" (it saved in .avi), but when I import it into Premiere Elements the footage will go smoothly, then cut back multiple frames, then skip ahead resulting in unusable video.  The same thing happens when I save the video.
I tried the same footage in other editors (Corel VS X2, Windows Live Movie), and it ran smoothly. I used PlayClaw to record.
If it helps the video was:
    Res: 848 x 480
    Aspect: 16:9
    Colors: YUV422
    Compression: Unknown

Download and install G-Spot, to see what CODEC (Compression) is being used.
    That is likely the issue.
The odd Frame Size will make choosing a Project Preset difficult.

  • Album and Screen Captures

    Minor annoyance:
When you take a screen capture and you want to crop it, to send it (or do anything to it), you press on it and the Tap To Set Location menu etc pops up. The probalem is that the menu pops up up ont he top and bottom, but the picture itself does nto shrink to fint.
So what you have is a picutre, in which you cannot see the top or the bottom and it makes it harder to figure out to figure out if this is the right picture if the top and bottom are important.
    Solution:
Can sony make it so that when the Tap To Set Locaion and the top portion of that) menu pops up, the picture shrinks to fit within those fields?
A lof of the other photo processing applicaiotns already resize to fit the screen, so that any menu that pops up, doe not actually block any part of the picture you are looking at.
    Thank you.

The bars are semi translucent.. they have some icons on them for actions such as delete, set location or send as sms ect.. They do block the top and bottom.
I cannot see the clock in the top right cornver of the screen shot, for example.
When the menus pop up, the clock on the screen shot gets replaced with the current clock and the current battery life etc. (same info as on the screen shot, but current, not from the time of the screen shot)
    Does that make sense?
I have to assume this is a general Sony Album behavior, not limited to Z1C
