QuickVPN won't save connection info

I'm using QuickVPN 1.0.0.40 and it's connecting fine to my WRV54G router but it won't save the connection info. If I enter the connection info and click Save, it says it did it, but if I exit and restart QuickVPN, the fields all come up blank.
On a different PC where it is working fine, I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it, and when I started it, all my old connection info was there. So it's not stored in the Program files\Linksys\Linksys VPN Client directory - since that was removed when I unistalled.
Any ideas? Having to reenter the IP address every time I start this is annoying.

Hi… The info is saved by your OS. You might have disabled the auto save (save form) option that stores all the info you fill in on any form. You would need to enable that service. (Go to Internet Options || Contents | auto-complete settings)

Network manager won't save connection password

Hi there.
I am installing new notebook and I am stuggling with an issue for couple of days already.
I am on Cinnamon and I am using Network Manager.
Before installing that, I had net-auto-wireless daemon in rc.conf which did the job and wifi was working.
After switch to NM, I can search and see networks around me, but connection fails.

I have searched forum here, but haven't found any solution so far.
When I select my network from NM applet, I never get asked for password. However, if I start nm-connection-editor from the command line, edit connection and password there, then all starts to work and there is no problem anymore. So the issue appears to be that NM never asks for password and therefore no connection can be stored.
I have read the wiki and have created org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.pkla in /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d directory.
Some remarks:
- please do not suggest to switch to wicd, I know about it, but I prefer to fix NM instead
- I tried to remove my other computer's saved wifi and it exhibits the same behavior. It worked once, 100% sure about it.
- It does not work also under regular Gnome 3 session, so it is not Cinnamon's fault.

Fixed!!! Went back into the dir: swtools/apps/fingerprint and noticed a second file named updater. Ran, rebooted.
Works. Never would have seen unless I went back.

Fascinate calendar won't save appt info

I have had my phone for some time but have recently encountered problems setting appointments on the calendar. Even though I enter all the information and it reads "saved", nothing appears. Does anyone out there have any ideas? The only glitch I can think of is that awhile back I was trying to sync the Fascinate calendar to my Google calendar on my PC? I have checked all the settings and can't see anything obvious on either the phone or PC. Help. I am lost without my Fascinate calendar.

It depends. Outlook is just a program that handles the connection to your ISP's email server to get your emails. Is the Calendar synced with your email or is it only in the program? There might be ways to sync your calendar with your Gmail calendar which in turns sync with the phone. How it would link back to the Outlook program, I don't know the answer. There have been a number of discussion similar to this question on the community. Try searching here first to see if there is something you can try.

it has everyrhing to do with tags.
The artwork is stoed in the Artwork tag field.
Since WAV files do not have tags, there is no where to store the tags.
If you use iTunes to get artwork for WAV files, it puts themn into the AlbumArt folder adn links it to the correct files via the iTunes library.itl file.
All other formats (MP3, AAC, AIFF, Apple Lossless) have na artwork tag to store the artwork in the media file itself.

Password won"t save in account info

I have a Verizon email address that requires a password to send mail. When I enter the password under the advanced settings it will not save. the save settings option does not come up. The password is correct. it sjust won't save. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Not sure what you mean. For starters, the Preferences > Accounts > Advanced settings are for the incoming server, whereas you appear to be saying that you have sending problems. The outgoing server settings are in Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server > Server Settings...

Mail won't save info in Subject field in Drafts folder

Hi,
For some reason, Mail won't save what I type into the Subject field for messages in the Drafts folder.
Why?
I can save in any other field for any message in the Drafts folder... This has been going on for awhile, both with Mavericks and Yosemite though it worked earlier with Mavericks.

Sounds like a limit of your ISP, as it's trying to put it back on the mailserver, which may not accept such a large file.

The scanner scans the document without a problem but when I select 'SAVE' and
specify a location and file name, a system error 'The HP scan application was
unable to save the file to the specified location'. It will save a regular PDF file
or a JPG file with no problem, but trying to save an searchable PDF or .rtf file
results in the above mentioned system error.
This problem occurs either from HP SCAN or from the 8600 scan panel.
The computer is running Windows XP and the I.R.I.S. OCR software is
loaded.

I understand you're receiving an error message "The HP scan application was unable to save the file to the specified location". I will do my best to assist you!
First, I would recommend downloading this tool called the Print and Scan Doctor. This tool diagnoses and helps resolve common printing, scanning, and connectivity problems, including: (This information is stated here.)
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test : Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check : Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues : Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings : Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print : Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests : Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
Let me know if this tool fixes a scanning problem on this post. If this doesn't resolve your issue, then I am going to recommend uninstalling the software. Please follow this HP document on Uninstalling the Printer Software.

CS2 won't save jpg since LR2.7 has been installed

Hi folks,
A few weeks ago I purchased LR 2.7 (and don't regret it for a minute!). Since then my CS2 has developed some funny habits, though, and won't save any photos as jpg that have first been worked on in LR. The error I get is "Cannot save due to program error". I assume that CS2 (antiques, I know...) is not really compatible with LR 2.7. But at the moment I have to make do with exporting first from LR and then opening it again in CS2 if I need to go on there. Everything works fine that far but after all the work I put into the thing CS2 just won't play. No problem saving as psd file. And I have created a 'workaround' to save my efforts after all, pasting it into a new document in CS2. No problem saving then. But it seems rather strange to me.
I work with an XP PC with loads of space & an external harddisk, a dual core quad processor and 4GB RAM. The original photos are taken in RAW.
Anybody who can give me an idea why my CS2 is having these fits of jealousy since it got competition from LR?

I'll bet you've used the adjustment brush or graduated filter? There's a
CS2 bug that falls over that perfectly legitimate metadata. Your options
are:

After AW 6.0 update to 6.2.9 won't Save files

After updating Apple Works 6.0 to 6.2.9, the updated program will not allow me to save any files. After choosing my Macintosh HD as the "save to" location, I am unable to Save. Instead, a small wndow appears stating "Cannot find volume." I had previously been running AW 6.2.9 for a long time, but had to reformat my HD recently and re-loaded AW 6.0, then tried my 6.2.9 update when this problem surfaced. I tried UNINSTALLING these and re-installing several times, but I always have the same problem now. I also have to force quit AW most of the time. However, the OS9 version runs fine and saves fine, no problems with it. Help!!

Thanks Peggy for your prompt suggestions. I went ahead and used Disk Warrier to rebuild my HD. I also used Disk Utility to repair Permissions. I also trashed preferences from AW for both systems 9 and 10. Same problems! I re-installed AW from the beginning. Same problems! I also find I cannot open any of my AW files directely- a dialog says "file is locked or in use" and "open a copy." When I open a copy, it still won't Save! I went to Get Info- all my AW files have "read only" and the owner is "unknown." I clicked the locked padlock on unknown, unlocked it, reset it to my normal owner name for the computer, changed the file to "read and write" and clicked "open all files with this application" also. It will the open that one file without asking me to open a copy. But still won't Save. And all my other AW files are still set to "unknown" and are still padlocked in the "read only" mode. What the heck do you think happened here? This was after I had the Apple Store help me to reformat a copy of my HD because it had frozen one day and couldn't be retrieved with Disk Utility or Disk Warrier. Files won't save in folders

I just purchased Final Cut Studio today. I'm going through the tutorial and my files won't save in the folders created for the tutorial on my HD. I go to "send to" for Motion and Motion opens and asks for a data rate. Then when i choose one Motion opens it's window but there is no project. Any clue?

If you copied the files to your hard drive before working with them, make sure you have permission to both READ and WRITE to all the files involved. Highlight a file and hit Command i (Get Info) to see how the permissions are set. You can change them there if needed.

Dreamweaver CC 2014 won't save site server passwords

Since updating to Dreamweaver CC 2014, it asks for a site server password every time I try to upload files. Even though I toggle the "Save" checkbox on, it will remember the passwords as long as I keep DW running. If I quit DW, it asks for the password again when I try to connect to a site's server. I'm really hoping there's a fix other than recreating all of my site FTP connection info. I do multiple sites.

Sounds like a permissions problem. Try this:
Rename the Preferences folder on your computer:
On Mac : ~/Library/Application support/Adobe
On Windows7 : \Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
Rename “Dreamweaver CC2014.1” to “Dreamweaver CC2014.1_old”
Re launch Dreamweaver.
