Quit the cloud and cannot reopen

I recently quit the cloud as it locked up during update of ai 2014 and now cannot seem to get it to open again to get the download updates going again. What did i do wrong?

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

I assume you have iTunes Match turned on in iTunes?
You can create a smart playlist in iTunes that has "iCloud Status" is "Matched" or "Upload" - that will tell you what's in the cloud.

I cannot get pages to automatically upload to and from the cloud and my iphone

just started using the icloud and itunes and iphoto work fine,
but
i cannot get my pages documents to "automatically sync" to the cloud and my iphone. the only way i have manged too do it so far is too cretae a document on the mac and then upload to icloud.com, if i make any changes on my iphone i then have to download the document from icloud.com to my mac.
also if i go to pages and log into iwork to open the document, it isnt there but it is shown in iwork through icloud.com??
any help will be very appreciated!

It has been discussed multiple times here: iCloud does not sync with iWork on the Mac - unfortunately. Let's hope this will be solved in the next iWork update

Like most online purchases you would normally receive the order number before the order is processed so you should be patient and allow some time for the processing to happen. If you feel you have waited long enough then you should contact Adobe Support directly and try to get information on your order since you now have a reference for it that you can share with them.

Using match and suddenly my entire library including those already downloaded or added from the computer are in the cloud and only available on-line.

I have 83 plus Gb of songs on my hard drive, suddenly today every track is in the cloud and nothing will play is the wifif is off. If I redownload all of these is is it going to take another 83 Gb of my hard drive to bring down from the cloud what is already there? Wht can't I play the songs that I know were available off line previously and what is the use of the songs in the itunes folder if I cannot access them. This is quite frustrating, please help.

Not having backups is going to make this a bit more difficult.
First, disable iTunes Match while holding down the Shift key and quit iTunes. Re-Launch iTunes while holding down the Shift key and click the button to choose existing library. Navigate to the existing iTunes Library.itl file on your HDD, select it and click OK. This should add all the music back to your iTunes library and put it back the way it was.

I deauthorized my 2 Macs, how do I get them reauthorized? I can't access my music, it's in the cloud and won't allow access unless computer is authorized.

I deauthorized all computers from iTunes to get rid of an old computer. Now I cannot get my current 2 Macs re-authorized, hence cannot play my music.... it is in the cloud and will not play because the computers are "not authorized." I am not getting an option to authorize either of my computers in my iTunes account. Is there a function elsewhere in the computer that gets the iTune authorizations?

I haven't yet upgraded to Moutain Lion but before I do I'm wondering if anyone can help answer a workflow question related to Documets in the Cloud and how it runs on Mountain Lion: Has Apple solve/simplified/streamlined the use of Documents in the Cloud beyond what is a significant hassle in Lion?
To better undertsand the context of my question, it may help to explain how it's working for me with Lion. I currently have all of the '09 version of the iWork Suite of apps (Pages, Numbes, Keynote), as well as the iOS versions of each. Although Lion has iCloud connectivity, there doesn't appear to be any ability for Page (or the other apps) to share/save/open documents directly to and from iCloud itself. Beyond the fact that there is no readably folder structure to iCloud, the current situation recquires me to manually drag/drop a file from my local HDD to the iWork interface on iCloud.com. Only then can I see and open the document on my iPad, iPhone, etc. Then, in order to back to my desktop, I have to manually download the file from the iCloud.com interface and reopen it locally. This means that unless I've taken the extra step of modifying the filename at some point in the process I now have two documents on my local drive with the exact same filename.
So, again, my question is: has Mountain Lion simplified/solved/steamlined the currently ridiculous process, or whill I still have to instead opt for Dropbox, Google Drive, or Box, all of which have user navigable directory structures and avoid the duplicate file issues?

Yes, it is simpler to work with iCloud files in Mountain Lion, assuming you have the latest version of each of the iWork '09 applications. You can open documents directly from iCloud in Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, and you can choose whether a new document is saved into iCloud or on the normal Finder file system.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
It sounds as though you misunderstood the purpose of iTunes Match. You still need to have the content on the device to play it.
However it's effectively no different than before in that you keep your most played content on your phone but are able to download stuff you rarely play should you ever wish to.
There's no value whatsoever in iTunes Match unless your library doesn't fit on your phone.

I have to agree with Alfred above. I had an iPhone 4 and set up my 6 as a new one. I did it in steps, getting the basic stuff like email and iCloud set up first, then adding apps, and finally loading all of my music. I feel it was worth the investment in time as I did not end up not migrating quite a few apps from the 4 to the 6.
Thinking about it, I'm not sure I could have done it from a backup since the 4 wasn't running (and can't run) iOS 8. In any case, it was never on my radar.

Help with 5.5 on the Cloud and on an iMac desktop

I work with another person on the layout of a magazine using InDesign. We're 1,000 miles appart. For the last two years we've been shuttling the layout back and fort successfully. We both had/have 5.5. He recently bought a new mac and signed up for the Cloud. I sent him my file, he made changes and sent it back to me. I cannot open it. I get a CANNOT OPEN FILE message box with a long list of plug-ins that I need. Now were in trouble with a deadline 10 days away. He can open my 5.5 files, but I can't open his. I'm very happy with InDesign on my desktop and have no interest in moving to the Cloud.

If you have to work with someone in the cloud you have to work at least with CS6 and ask him to work with CS6 which is able to get from the cloud and which is available to get as buy version.
If he insist to work with CC (a lot of reasons are given) you have to go to the cloud too.
The exchange of InDesign files as IDML is not very recommandable as there a lot of changes in the layout after converting and opening in the other version.
Yes, InDesign is opening an older version's file but not a newer version's file and that is the problem you are running in.

Are you referring to @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com emails? Or some other email providers emails?
If the former, it should do that automatically. If the latter, no. iCloud does not (nor is it supposed to) sync non-Apple provided emails.

You can't add music to the cloud, whether it will show there for streaming and redownloading depends upon what country that you are in. If you are in a country where music is available in the cloud then you don't have to download the music from the store, if you turn Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under the 'show all' heading) 'on' then you should be able to stream purchased music in the Music app without downloading it - your phone will need to be online in order to stream, and if using 3G/4G then it will use some of your data allowance.
If you download an album or a track then it will be downloaded onto your phone. You can't upload music to the cloud from an iOS device. Whether music that you've bought shows for streaming depends upon what country that you are in and if the album or track remains in the store (unless you've subscribed to iTunes Match), and if you are connected to a network.
