Quitting the install of Tiger lost my G4 superdrive. How do I get it back?

I have a dual G4 with a superdrive at OS 10.1.5. I put the Tiger install dvd in the superdrive and it was working fine. When it got to the part where it said it would erase everything, I quit and backed up some things. I couldnt back to to my superdrive because the G4 no longer knows it is there so I copied things over my local network to another pc (windows). I tried to do the install again but putting the dvd in the superdrive didnt work because it had no clue it was in it. the eject button on the keyboard still controls it. I then connected an external dvd player via usb to the MAC and the MAC "saw" it but the install wouldnt work-then saw the post about an external drive only working over a firewire. I connected it that way and the MAC no longer knows it is there. I tried the ControlOptions+PR and that hasnt worked.
I would really like just to get my superdrive "visible" again. Please help-I havent noticed this problem in the other posts. It was working just fine till I started and quit the upgrade.
I am not a very experience apple user and it is driving me crazy. Thanks.

Go to View > Customize toolbar and drag it back.

Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)

If you are saying that after signing into iCloud it is telling you device is not found, it could be for any number of reasons. If the battery is dead, if the SIM has been removed, or if someone else has the phone and they have restored it, it will not be shown. Also, if you located it once and then sent a remote wipe, it disables the abililty to locate the phone with Find My iPhone.

The YouTube app is no longer included in the native apps. Apple recommends you visit the website.
Perhaps google will make another app and make it available in the App Store soon, I miss it too.

You calendar info should also be mirrored on your computer. Use the option to replace all events on the iPod with the info on your computer during the next sync. You can find this option in the info pane, Advanced section.
You can also use the latest backup to restore from, it contains the calendar info as well: iTunes: About iOS backups

Okay so I asked someone from apple and they said that the software update icon is gone but its functions have been merged with the app store icon on the settings menu. Crisis averted haha!

All of your apps should be in iTunes on the computer, simply sync them back.
If they are not, go into the purchase history and download them again.

Swipe from screen to screen to look for it. It cannot be deleted from the iPad.
You can reset the the home screen layout but that returns the home screen to the original out of the box set up - but it will restore the icon to the home screen.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

This was the scenario:
The first time I updated, it was only my music that was lost.
When I got my music back, I lost my apps.
When I got my apps back, my contacts, notes and photos were lost.
Now I got back everything except for my photos.
(Yes, I restored from backup several times since the first update.)
Do you think if I try restoring from back up, my photos that were taken from my ipod will be restored finally?

Swipe through your screens and swipe to the left of your Home screen. Type in App Store in the search field. It's a permanent pre installed Apple app so it can't be deleted.
If you can't locate it on the iPad for some reason, connect the device to your computer. Right or control click the iPad under Devices left side of the iTunes window then click: Restore from backup
