Quotation problem.

Dear community,
We have a special broad range of product group consisting of thousands of materials that are not created in SAP system yet. . Constraints are as follows.
- Quoation may be requested for one or more of these products ( remember product group has thousands materials!)
- Our new material creation process is 1 to 2 days.
- The quotations for these group is very very few (say 10-20 in a year) but may be any of these products.
Question is how can we handle quoatations without creating all these products. First answer in my mind is using a dummy material but I know this a dead end.
Any suggestions will be higly appreciated.

Inquiry / Quotation Problem

Dear Experts
I am trying to run a test scenario for Make to order sale's. I have created a INQUIRY > QUOTATION > and ORDER.
Now since my PP consultant is not thre, so i am just trying to put some dummy stock -using MIGO against my sales order
using 561-E,
BUt System is not allowing me, "Account assingment is not carring out because of different origin"
< So now if i give my inquiry number here, system is accepting stock against my inquiry and also i am now able to do the delivery. >
Well,, as i understood i have made some mistake in configuration. In my Inquiry the Requirement type is Coming as KEK (Make to order configurable for my material) . Can some one guide me as how i resolve this problem.
I am facing the same issue , if i start my scenario through Quotation > then ORder.
Plz guide as , how i can stop the system from raising the requirement , for my Inquiry and Quotation
I am using the Item category TAC (0002 is my item category group in my Material Master and strategy is 25)

Pending order delivery against sales order and quotation problem

Dear Expert
I am facing problem when we are tracking delivary quantity against sales order and quotation. then our delivary quantity not matching with invoiced quantity.
Actually the logic of report are below
Pick up the VBAK-VBELN and VBAK-KUNNR where AUART = quotation, VKORG, VTWEG, SPART, ERDAT = selection.
now when any quantity which are added in sales order in new line not cattered through below code and it show problem of mismatch.
Can any one help me in finding data from all this table to catter delivey quantity, quotation qty and sale order qty.

Starting from quotes, you could find your quote, then read SD document flow table VBFA for next document of type sales order (could be more than one sales order from a quote). Then you could obtain delivery documents (could be more than one for a sales order) for all your sales orders, again using next document code in table VBFA. This would present you tables that could contain multiple rows:
quote
   sales order
       delivery,
       delivery
    sales order
        delivery
and so forth. You might also consider using table VBUK or VBUP to discover status of each quote item.

Unable to import full CSV

Hello,
I have a CSV File with a bit more then 320.000 Rows.
A Table which should store the Rows.
I guess enough Harddisc to load.
A HANA 1.00.68.384084
My Control file looks like this:
IMPORT DATA
INTO TABLE "KTH"."MyTable"
FROM '/cloudfolders/mycsv_utf.csv'
RECORD DELIMITED BY '\n'
FIELDS DELIMITED BY ','
OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
ERROR LOG '/cloudfolders/mycsv_utf_error.txt'
I call the Controlfile from HANA Studio with the following Command:
IMPORT FROM CONTROL FILE '/cloudfolders/my_control_file.ctl'
WITH
THREADS 10
BATCH 10000;
260.000 Rows are well imported.
A Error File "mycsv_utf_error.txt" get created (With wrong permissions?)
But the errorfile keeps empty (0 Byte). Also when I try to CMOD the File to 777 and re-run the Load Command.
I need to know which rows cause the error to solve the Problem (Data / Table / ...)

here are some more information about the Problem on importing CSV:
1. Rows with Error:
Because I can't get any Error Messages (See below) I Try to find the Error with excluding the Rows until I found the Row with Error.
The Following in the CSV coused an Error:
Testnumber,Texttextfield
1, "Sampletext"
2, "This is a ""TEXT"" with quotes"
The Quotation in Texts are not accepted ...
THis is - as I see - not Conform with RFC 4180 (RFC 4180 - Common Format and MIME Type for Comma-Separated Values (CSV) Files) See Chapter 2.7:
must be escaped by preceding it with
another double quote. For example:
"aaa","b""bb","ccc"
2. Error Log:
This theme is not solved jet.
My Controlfile looks like this:

I dont see any solution anymore to solve this.

"Excel found unreadable content in" The Problem is text in a clob exported to excel uses - Left single quotation mark -Right double quotation mark.

Here are the ASCII char being used.
145 221 91 10010001 ‘  ‘ Left single quotation mark
146 222 92 10010010 ’  ’ Right single quotation mark
147 223 93 10010011 “  “ Left double quotation mark
148 224 94 10010100 ”  ” Right double quotation mark

The default CHAR NOW is a black diamond with ? in middle in stead of 'Right double quoation mark' and others.
The Text used is copied from documents user's get
so someone is putting in I think what is called ALT ascii. This data has been used for years
some updates where put in the system, I don't know details.
The following error started you click YES and the XLS has alot of data missing not just the CLOB.

I can copy the text then load it into the a column in a xls.
I am exporting the spreadsheet from TOAD it wasn't updated so
it has to be with the EXCEL. I tried changing the ENCODING in EXCEL but that
didn't work.

I'm not familiar with TOAD, could you please let us know how did you export data from TOAD to Excel?
Based on your description, it should be an encoding problem, have you tried to change the encoding as 'UTF-8' ?

Problem during creation of inquiry & quotation

when i am creating inquiry or quotation when saving it , it shows error message that,For the ISO code there is no unique SAP currency code for ALE...... pls solve it it is very urgent... in sol someone told to run SALE..So how will i run SALE.pls tell.

Run SALE means , it a transaction SALE
check now the following flow,
SALE - Sending and Receiving Systems - Logical Systems- Assign Client to Logical System ,
whether ur client is assinged with the currency .
Another way to check ur setting
SPRO - General Settings - Currencies - and further Check currency codes.

Problem with quotation marks in Reports

Hello,
in Reports i have a text item, and i wrote a text „test” (this is copy/paste from a Word Document). At runtime i see ?text?
Why those quotation marks does not appear correctly at runtime?
It's about Reports Developer 2000. Please help if you can.

my NLS_LANG, before editing in registry was AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 (without that '5' at the end).
it's WE8ISO8859P1 not WE8ISO8859P15. and i have the NLS_LANG, AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1. stil not displaying ok..
this problem has nothing about the server, but the client, i think.
the problem appears when i call a report from a form. when i run the report inside Report Builder, the quotation marks appears as „ ".

Apostrophes, quotation marks, dashes causing problems in emails

Program: Mail
Since upgrading to an Intel MacBook Pro (10.4.7), my outbound email has been turning into a weird jumble of glyphs.
For some recipients, my apostrophes and quotation marks turn into a serious of four glyphs...for other recipients, all the dashes and em dashes disappear...for yet other recipients, all the punctuation completely vaporizes.
I’m emailing to an extremely broad set of recipients, as they are my customers from all over the country. No single ISP is in common, no particular browser, etc. The only reason I even know about this is because I’m able to see the catastrophe in my original text included in their responses. Doesn’t matter whether I’m sending from home (with our cable company ISP) or from work (an entirely different cable company ISP)...same mess either way.
Our outbound messages are nearly incomprehensible to read—any suggestions?

The only reason I even know about this is

That doesn't necessarily mean that your outbound mail is appearing strange to the reader. I would advise you to check that and verify that you really have a problem.
If your readers do see strange characters, it is often because you are sending rich text (which is really html mail) and they are using MS Outlook. Some possible fixes are in this note:

PS Getting rid of all smart punctuation (curly quotes and apostrophe's, special dashes) may also be helpful.

Quotation and Purchasing Requisition causing problem

Dear all,
I need to seek your advise.
It is causing problems in the supply chain that quatations and purchace requisitions is causing production order creation in the workshop at the distribution center and in the SAP factories.
We would really want these two order types/demands isn't valid for the production planning as it is often result in production where orders never are converted.
Questions:
1 - Is it advisable to exclude these two demands (i.e. Quotation/PR) from production point of views? if no, why, what's the reason?
2 - Either Yes or no on question 1, would it be possible to exclude these as demands for production so that only actual orders causes production order creation from the system config?
3 - If question no.1 is "Not advisable", what is the alternative solution to solve our problem (i.e. it is often result in production where orders never are converted).

1) I would like to ensure that our Quotation (MM/SD)/ PR (SD derived PR example drop ship, and MM derived PR, example STO PR) to be excluded as demand during MRP run. And the best way is to use the BADI - MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA. Is that correct?
Yes the BADI is provided as the exclusion of these demands in planning is not considered as standard & hence the enhancement.
2) Does this BADI- MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA work for exclusion of Quotation as demand as well?
I have written code in this BADI to exclude Stock Transfer PR, but not for quotation so cant speak from experience on that. But I am sure one of the methods in that BADI should cover that. Discuss with your abaper & he / she will let you know which method will cover this need
3) Any other way?
To the best of what I know usage of BADI is the only option to prevent planning of demands coming from STO's. But the other way would be, to work with PO - SO kind of concept i.e. the plant which requires a part from another plant will raise a PO, this will then have to manually entered in the other plant as a SO (But note, creating sales order for plants within same company code will violate some norms in Finance, so check with your FI-CO colleagues)

Problem whith Sales Quotation

Quotation mark problem!

Hello everyone! I have a unusual problem to address. I have recently gotten into HTML coding, and I am using a navigation menu and it requires quotation marks. As seen in the picture on the top, TextEdit keeps inverting them, thus ruining my code! I need the quotation marks to be like the ones at the bottom of the photo for the code to compile correctly.

I found a solution! Turn off "smart quotes," in the keyboard settings!

Problem with assigning Quotation number to notification number

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where when a Quotation number is created using IW52 transaction it should get assigned to notification number. The problem am facing is as below.
1) As you all know QMEL is the header table for Notification number, we have added a custom field ZZ_VBELN of type KDAUF to QMEL tabel.
2) When i try to create Quotation number without clicking on the SAVE button Quotation number is getting assigned to notification number. This Quotation number is saved in VBELN field of QMEL.
3) However when i click on SAVE button after creating Quotation number, the quotation number is moved to ZZ_VBELN field as a result Quotation number is not getting assigned to notification number.
My question why this is happening? In what way i should approach to solve this problem?

when you press the save button the strcture of notification number not there ,
when you press the save button that time find user exit and pass this values to standard strcture..
use this exit , it may be usefull

InDesign CS4 quotation marks problems in epub

I use InDesign CS4 to create epub files. Occassionally I will have what I guess you would call a translation error from the InDesign file to the epub file. Quotation marks and apostrophe marks do not translate at all. It doesn't happen with every file. If I combine the bad export file with another file the quotation marks will be just fine. I have even tried inserting a special character from the Type menu and it does the same thing.
Example:
How it shows in the InDesign file -
You’re a fool, Grey.
"Miss Steele. What a pleasant surprise."
How it shows up in the epub file:
You‚Äôre a fool, Grey.
‚ÄúMiss Steele. What a pleasant surprise.‚Äù
Does anyone have any suggestions to keep this from happening?

My suggestion is to upgrade to CS5.5. The epub capabilities are light years ahead of CS4.
That said, where are you seeing the problem? ADE? iPad? Kindle?

Quotation price comparison list problem

I am creating RFQ to several vendors, maintaining them with conditions like delievery costs and discounts, but when I execute price comparison list (me49) I see only the base price without the delievery costs and the discounts. I''m puting the checks on the selection screen of me49 - include discounts, include delievery costs and determine effective price. Despite of this I can't see the actual price.
Where can be the problem?

Hope you have Rise Request for Quotation (ME41) for all items.But for all items you have not maintained Quotation in (ME47) , If u have maintained then u can do comparision in ME49.
So for multiple line items maintain quotation(ME47).

Hsqldb quotation mark problem.

I am trying to insert some records to hsqldb with jdbc. But there are quotation marks in my string.
INSERT INTO haber (id, Title) values (1, 'String'withQuotationMark ')I get the error message saying: Unexpected token: withQuotationMark in statement [INSERT INTO haber (id, Title) values (1, 'String'withQuotationMark ']/Error code: -11/state: 37000
I have changed the sql statement as following:INSERT INTO haber (id, Title) values (1, 'String\'withQuotationMark ')and as following
INSERT INTO haber (id, Title) values (1, 'String''withQuotationMark ')but i got the same error message.
