Quoting copies background pattern

In Mail, someone sent me an email with one of those background patterns in the message. You know the kind: some people think it’s cute to have a background pattern in all their email messages. Anyway, when I quoted them, Mail copied the background pattern along with the quoted text, something that doesn't quite make sense! The quoted text was real text, not a graphic or image. When I clicked the pattern behind the quoted text, a border appeared around it with an “X” button in the corner. When I clicked the “X” button, Mail deleted not just the pattern, but also the quoted text! This is dumb. Obviously I just want to delete the pattern, not the text. How do I keep Mail from copying the background when I quote someone???

The problem is actually the content inside the flash as well.
Like positioning to the center, in case you change the browser
window. If I try the Stage.onResize, it gives an error saying there
is no such property.
The 100% example of I'm trying to achieve is when you publish
anything with Flash size property set to 100%, just WITHOUT the
mentioned edges.

How to remove text while restoring the background pattern ?

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to remove the text in the following picture and to restore/interplate what the background pattern should be.
I tried with the clone stamp tool but its taking a long time and I obtain poor results.
Is there a quick and easy way to have PS do it automatically ?

Here's something to try:
1. Choose the Magic Wand selection tool in the Tools panel.
2. Set the Tolerance pretty high - e.g., 50 - and uncheck [ ] Contiguous.
3. Click the tool in a black letter.
4. Select - Expand, e.g., 3 pixels.
5. Edit - Fill - Content Aware.
It won't be perfect, but you can tidy up the parts that aren't fairly directly...

I just added the wish list feature from amazon and now my background pattern is gone. What do I do to get it back?

I added the wish list feature from amazon on my toolbar, but when I restarted my computer there wasn't any background pattern. I had a christmas scene backgound.

A persona usually only works with the default theme (Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes). 
So if you've installed another theme then your persona may have been disabled.

How do I flatten a background pattern in Illustrator CC 2014?

A client has sent me through some artwork through and there is a background pattern to it - now when I move the artwork the background pattern doesn't move with it - meaning it looks different when I move it - I want it to look the same so is there a way I can flatten the background pattern?
No layers are locked - in fact the artwork is one layer.

Now next this is can I transform these patterns into vector shapes that I can alter?
I ask as I KNOW that when I send it to print I'll have our printers coming back asking me if I can add bleed or beef up said background pattern.

Background patterns don't match using Layered Paper template in iWeb 09

The background patterns for the Layered Paper template don't match. They look okay when I'm using iWeb but are two different shades when posted online.

I created a quick test page with that theme and have no problems with it. You might try selecting a different theme and then go back to the layered theme. Are you using that theme without messing with the options regarding choosing the background image/color/etc?

How apply a background pattern fill that can then be properly tiled in Dreamweaver....help!

I'm doing a web page layout that someone else is going to slice and input into dreamweaver. He wants to be able to tile the background image (in dreamweaver) which is just a diamond pattern. When I created the background layer I filled it with the diamond pattern. Horizontally and vertically if I were to tile this, it will not line up. What is the easiest way to fix this? Ican't figure out how to do this short of dividing the size of my individual pattern swatch by the height and width of my art board. Sorry this is kind of hard to explain. Basically if I were to copy my art board and try and put in beside itself the diamond pattern would not butt up correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached the file to try and explain it better. I am fairly new to Illustartor (CS4) and it's probably something simple ..... but I have no idea what it is. Also I'm working on a mac if that makes any difference.

You only need one instance of this pattern for it to work. Send the jpg I've attached to be used as the background image for your page. I also included the revised vector if you want to hold on to it.
Basically all you had to do was expand your fill pattern by selecting Object>Fill and then ungroup everything and eliminate all but one square. Find the size of that square and then reset your document size to match it perfectly. Center the drawing on the artboard (should fit exactly), and then do a Save for Web as a jpg or other desired file type.

After the last set of rolling updates to KDE, my color scheme has been out of whack.
konsole and kate show only a default colored window rather than my particular window color scheme.
The plasma panel too turned dark gray on Oxygen
I managed to fix some issues by installing the OxyWin theme, which makes the plasma workspace use system colors.
However, backgrounds have this annoying embossed circles pattern thats somewhat like the olympic logo, it looks terrible
It wasn't there before
I looked through every svgz file in the ~/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme/* folders - nothing there
How do I get rid of this?

Apple monitor keeps changing background pattern

I have been using an inexpensive 18in flat panel monitor as a second screen with my MacBook Pro. I borrowed a friends 20 Apple monitor and tried it instead of the 18in, but the background screen pattern keeps changing every 15 minutes or so. I have reset the preferences NOT to change a dozen times. Sometimes it will accept me setting it to Panther Aqua Blue, sometimes it will not, but it always soon changes the pattern to one of the Apple Plants pattern and then changes again every 15 minutes or so. The "change picture" option is not selected. This never happened with my old cheap monitor. Any suggestions?

delete the file homedirectory/library/preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist and log out/in. set your desktop background as you like it. it should behave normally now.

Create order from quote in background

Is there a badi or FM in CRM that anyone knows of that can be called from a program to create a follow up order from a quote?

Eventhough it's for auctions, it creates a follow up order from my quote, just fine.

H.264 export video artifacts with regular background pattern

I'm generally very pleased with the flexibility and quality of the H.264 video encoder provided by Premiere Pro.
However, I have one scene, with a graph-paper-like background that generates video artifacts when zooming in and out, no matter how high I set the bitrate.
I'm including two images created by grabbing frames from the exported movie from Quick Time Player. The first shows the scene without artifacts (at the end when the
zooming is over) while the second shows the effect when I'm zooming in on the scene. As you can see, the artifacts consist of graying out of the black lines and appearance of some "tick" lines along the lines, which I assume is due to the compression algorithm used by the codec. Does anyone have experience with such problems and can suggest a way to avoid this? It's a relatively short segment of the video that is effected.

How do you crop a diagonal pattern in a way that makes it tileable for web?

At the moment I have just given up and made one huge image and kept it at around 800kb for a web background. However, I realize this is not ideal. I can't figure out how to make this pattern tileable. I figure there's some crazy math I have to calculate to figure in the crop size so that the cut off for the images fit perfectly, but I have no idea how to do that. Has anyone run into this situation before and found a solution?

You're doing it wrong! :-)
Use css to solve this problem. Although there is no css property to rotate a background image, you can apply a neat trick to create the same effect.
1) save your file as a regular rectangular pattern (17.6kb!) :
2) save this in your images folder in your site root.
3) to create a rotated background for your page, use this:

PS css transformations are unsupported in IE 8 - the background will still show, though (non-rotated). For IE8 you will might want to use a conditional comment in your html to create a conventional background pattern instead.
*update* I updated the example with a page wrapper element that uses the same background, but rotates it at a different angle. The trick here is to create a sufficiently large element that covers the entire box. Then you will have to set overflow:hidden; to hide the overflow so it contains the background pattern inside that box. It takes a bit of tinkering to get the working values for height and width, because it is slightly dependent on the actual content.

Repeating pattern question

I’m trying to make a repeating pattern that includes a teapot image that I filled with a repeating rose pattern background. After everything has been reflected evenly on all axis, I then try to drag into the swatches panel. However, for some reason when I try to drag this pattern into the swatches panel, illustrator won’t do it. It will do it if I remove the tea pots and tea cups that have that repeating background pattern, but not when it’s there. Any idea what’s going on?
It seems like ai is confused that I’m trying to make a repeating pattern with an image (the teapot) that has a repeating pattern for the background.

Select the teapot and cup and go to Object>Expand before you drag back into the swatches panel.

Getting into the .pat -pattern library file

Is there anyway to open up the .pat file (photoshop pattern library file)
When I load it in my photoshop file, of course it tiles and fills the page.
I want access to the SINGLE TILE that's saved inside the .pat file, to use it as web background pattern.

I don’t know any such method.
But if one hovers the cursor over a Pattern’s icon in Preset Manager the pixel-dimensions of the tile are indicated; rasterizing a 100% instance of that pattern and selecting with the Marquee Tool set to Style – Fixed Size with those measurements should allow to select a patch of the correct size.

Regex problem using Pattern class

I am using the Pattern class to create a pattern which has to match "Sanofi-Aventis" (without the quotes). The pattern is created like this:

Help Please - CS4 Pattern Fills location

I am using CS4. I use a desktop and a laptop in the Windows Operating system.
I created some background pattern fills working on my desktop and would like to copy them to my laptop. I looked in the program files (via Explore) but could not find where they reside.

If I EXPORT them to a file and want to bring into my laptop files, do I Import them or just drag and drop into a folder? Or just open them and Edit>Define again?
