R/3 OR GTS OR any Vertical solution - Medium Scale Industry

Question

Scenario:
Company places bulk order to manufacture products in Asia.
And they ship from their own Asian warehouse to global customers(only in bulk qty)
The company corporate office is in US and do trading across globe.
Can somebody suggest, whether to use  R/3 or GTS or is there any other Vertical solution.
And which modules are more applicable in above scenario if you choose R/3

Samson,
The answer to your question really depends on what you want to accomplish with your foreign trade solution.  If you want to screen your shipments for sanctioned parties, then you will want to use GTS.  If you only want to control that shipments have valid export and/or import licenses, then you could potentially do this in SAP Foreign Trade but since GTS is the new-and-improved foreign trade solution I would recommend you use the latter. If you want to use additional functionality for Customs processing or risk management you will definitely want to use GTS even though standard functionality and forms for Asia are currently very limited in GTS.
There are other non-SAP solutions for foreign trade that are hosted by 3rd parties such as Tradebeam.
