R/3 Requirements for reporting

Hi experts,
Please see the following requirement.
Actual Received Date (field to be sent to BW)
SAP Field: LIKP-WADAT_IST
Search for the Delivery document number thru the VBFA table where:
     VBFA-VBELV     =     Original RMA Number (Field 3)
     VBFA-POSNV     =     VBPA-POSNR
     etc.
I am not very familiar with R/3 side. can someone explain to me what is the best approach to do the search they are talking abt? Please help this is really urgent!

It tells like this...and it is a enehncement of datasource and coding the logic in exit.
As per the field in datasource
VBFA-VBELV = Original RMA Number (Field 3)
VBFA-POSNV = VBPA-POSNR
get the delivery document number from table VBFA table
next find the LIKP-WADAT_IST field using that deleivery document number whatever u get from VBFA table and populate in code.

Hardware requirements for Reports 6i server

Hi,
I would like to know what are the hardware requirements for installing Reports 6i server. We we would like to deploy all reports through the web and expect a maximum of 50 users to fire reports at any given time during the day.

Software Requirements for Reports on NT

I am testing Oracle Reports on my personal
NT box and using SQL*Net to go against Oracle 8.0.5 on an NT server for my data. I will need the NT server/Oracle 8.0.5 to service my production reports. It is not clear what software (for Oracle Reports) will need to be installed on the server. Help please. I've seen references to a "Report Server" and don't know what that is or if it is needed or required. Any help would be appreciated.

Contract Compliance Report : This report looks at the actual customer purchases (QTY) by period vs. targeted quantities.
          The report created will list all the contracts quantity vs. shipped quantity in the period specified for a given customer or material or sales organization or contract number along with details such as material numbers, contract start date, contract end date, etc.
     Contract Expiration Report : Contracts need to be monitored and quotations sent out for renewal as they approach their expiry date. A report is required to show the contracts expiring.
          This report will list all the contracts expiring in the period specified for a given customer or material or sales organization or contract number along with details such as equipment numbers, material numbers, contract start date, contract end date, etc.

Fields required for report creation

Hi Experts,
In My report(Invoice distribution report for company wise) I need to add fields
invoice number,
invoice status,
invoice type,
invoice date,
invoice period,
customer number
account document number,
company code,amount in local,
g/l amount
currency,
customer name ,
city,
state.
I have taken tables VBRK,BSEG and KNA1.I fetch fields from these tables as follows
VBRK-invoicenumber,invoice status,invoice type,invoice date,invoice period,customer number.
BSEG-Account document number,company code,amount in local,G/L amount,currency.
I planned to join VBRK-vbeln = BSEG-Vbeln,
KNA1-customer name,city,state
I planed to join VBRK-KUNAG = KNA1-KUNNR.
In order to test whether the values are populating as expected I tried to create Quick viewer report.
When I create report using data source;table join when I add table bseg I am getting error as bseg is not used in join condition.
So I checked logical data base for these 3 tables but only for bseg and kna1 two ldb are common:BRF,DDF
My Question are:
1.How can I include BSEG in table join as data source in creating Quick viewer report.
2.If I use LDB BRF or DDF I can fetch all fields except invoice status and invoice type where other fields mentioned in VBRK can also fetch in BSEG.How can I get invoice status and invoice type in report.
3.Please let me know whether my field or table selection is wrong in creating report.
Please let me know how to get above fields in convenient way. I am waiting for your reply.

As you suggested when i am creating query using tables bseg,bkpf and kna1(logical database BRF) and vbrk,i am getting error as "query Specifications cannot be used to generate list" in SQ01.I linked BRF logical database with vbrk by using condition vbrk-vbeln = bkpf-awkey.
Is my condition is wrong in linking VBRK to BRF logical database.please guide me how to solve this.
If my joining is wrong means why I didn't get error in SQ02.??
Required fields are:Invoice number(vbrk),invoice category(vbrk),invoice date(vbrk),account document number(bkpf),company code(bkpf),G/L account(bseg),currency(bseg),state(kna1),invoice amount(vbrk).
Do i picked fields from wrong tables?

Minimum hardware requirement for Report server with 4 engines ??

Hello all ,
Can someone please tell what is the minimun Hardware requirement to be able to run a Oracle 91 AS with report server having 4 engines ??
and where I can find this kind of documentation.
We have a Oracle9iAS Containers for J2EE running on a machine with under 1 ghz power and around 300 mb RAM
, but the report server seems to keep crashing ..
Can anyone pls advice

Hi,
For calculating the minimum hardware requirements, you may need to look at various factors:
1. No of reports requests that need to be processed per second
2. Whether all these requests are synchronous or asynchronous
3. Response time required
4. Type of reports - large amounts of data, large no of images, etc
5. How much caching you are using
6. No of queries in your report
7. Simple / complex layout of the report
and so on.
So just the information of 4 engines may not be sufficient for trying to calculate the hardware requirements. One useful reference point for you may be the Oracle9i Reports Scalability whitepaper:

It lists the number of users supported on some pre-defined hardware configurations, and the average response time for the reports server.
You might also want to take a look at the paper on "Tuning Oracle Reports":

However, it is also possible that your Reports Server is crashing due to some other problem (not the hardware configuration).
By the way, your RAM seems to be too low for Oracle9iAS installation. See the installation guide for minimum hardware requirements.

Logic required for report in which selection criteria is more than one

I have below piece of selection-screen criteria in my report.
1)general data
2)all customers
3)company code data
a)company code
4)sales organization data
a)sales org.
b)dist. channel
c)division
d)field group
In above one, 1..4 are check boxes and a..d are select-options under the respective check box.
Please provide me the sample logic which I need to maintain in my report if user selects more than 1 check box.

Now check whether more than one Check Boxes are selected or not
IF COUNT GT 1.

I HAVE CREATED ONE REPORT AND CREATED ONE CHARACTERISTIC AND DUE TO WHICH WHEN I AM EXECUTING, IT FIRST ASK THE SELECTION CRITERIA WINDOW LIKE POSTING DATE AND MATERIAL SELECTION. BUT WHEN I AM DOING THE SAME THING THROUGH THE DIFFERENT USER, THE SYSTEM IS NOT ASKING ME THE SELECTION WINDOW.
I THINK THERE MUST BE SOME AUTHORISATION RELEVENT ISSUE. PLS GUIDE ME.

Requirement for Quotation Report.

Dear Experts,
I have a requirement for Report for Quotation.
In the Report Client wants to see for Particular Quotation Inquiry Number, Inquiry Value, Sales Order and Sales Order Value.
I have checked in VBFA Table if the Sales Order is Open for that Quotation it doesnt gets updated in the VBFA Table.
Is there any other way I could capture the Sales Order Number for that particular Quotation.
Please suggest the way out.

Hi,
The logic would be
Give the input value as quotation number.
Pass quotation number into VBAK- VBELN and get VBAK-VGBEL to get Inquiry number
Pass quotaion number into VBAK-VGBEL and get VBAK- VBELN Sale order number
subsequently pass these Inquiry and quotation numbers and get the relevant details of Inquiry and Quaotation
check this logic using t.code:SE16n

Printing requirements for Bi publisher report

Hi all
Can any one tell me the steps required for me to look at the setups on my server side so that i can print the reports using the bursting API.The problem is i am not able to debug the log file as there is no connection error or any other exception but still i am not able to see the documents printed.

You need about 40 GB total. Also make sure that your /tmp and /var/tmp have about 2GB free in them, otherwise the installation will fail. (I can't remember the exact numbers, though.)
I agree, the system requirements do not exist anywere in any straightforward documentation. You need to read at least three different documents to piece together the requirements, and the results will still be incomplete.

Can't get around this error after adding second dataset...A scope is required for all aggregates used outside of a data region unless the report contains exactly one dataset

I added a dataset to an existing report and broke an aggregation. In the old (i.e. single dataset) report, this expression below worked fine. I wanted to get a distinct count of the vst_ext_id field when my educated field was like "VTE1*"
= CountDistinct(IIF(Fields!educated.Value like "VTE1*", Fields!vst_ext_id.Value, Nothing))
After adding a new dataset, this no longer works and I get the error " A scope is required for all aggregates used outside of a data region unless the report contains exactly one dataset". Having done some research online, I found that I
needed to specify my dataset explicitly and I thought this new expression might work, but still no success...
= CountDistinct(IIF(Fields!educated.Value,"DataSet1" like "VTE12*", Fields!vst_ext_id.Value,"DataSet1", Nothing))
Am I missing something? Based on online responses, this explicit dataset naming convention seems to help most people, but it isn't working for me.

I found the answer. Apparently, my expression syntax was off. This expression does the trick...
= CountDistinct(IIF(Fields!educated.Value like "VTE12*", Fields!vst_ext_id.Value,Nothing),"DataSet1")
I just happened upon this particular syntax searching online. I was trying to specify the dataset name after each .value, but I never got that to work. This is the only time I have found this particular syntax online.
