R/3 RSA5

Is there any good documentation for RSA5. I would like to know how realistic it would be for me to reinstall a 2LIS_13 extractor (the environment is corporate and heavy usage) with append structures. Initially on Sandbox.

Use RSA9 for this.

Unable to find a data source in RSA5 which can be seen in RSA3.

I am unable to find the business content data sources in RSA5, but I can find the same data sources in RSA3 (extract checker).
I need these data sources to be replicated to BW and take it up further.
Any light on the above issue will be of great help.

Error: No valid application component hierarchy exists in RSA5

Hi Gurus,
We have recently installed SAP R/3 for BW. when i get in to RSA5 i am getting error message "no valid application component hierarchy exists" . Do i need to do any settings here. When click enter later on, i can see all the data sources under new_hier_root.
And under new_hier_root i have unassinged notes
New_Hier_root -> unassigned notes -> application components.

first we need to transfer application hierarchy.
try this one SBIW>Business Content DS>Transfer Application Component Hierarchy or RSA9.

Data source activated in RSA5 but error in RSA3

Hi,
I have activated data source 0CRM_OPPT_H in transaction RSA5 in our CRM system and can view this in RSA6. However when I run the extractor checker RSA3, the system generates error ( "Errors occurred during the extraction Message no. RJ012").
Upon debugging I found that this is caused by not having entry in table SMOXHEAD_S for this data source.
Also when I go to transaction BWA1 I am not able to display this data source. Other master data sources that I activated earlier are working fine. Its the transaction data source 0CRM_OPPT_H or 0CRM_OPPT_I that are having issue.
Please let me know any other steps that I may not be doing after activating the Business content data source in CRM system using transaction RSA5.

Thanks again for your super fast reply. This really solved my issue.
However for may days I have been trying to understand this BWA transaction ( BWA1 and BWA5) and figured out some fact( Like BWA5 puts the same entry of smxhead table to snmxhead_s table to make the whole thing work, Also we can extend the mapping in the BWA1 to include additional custom object with out the badi coding( is it possible?) .
But this area still is a mystery and I would like to have a comprehensive article on this adapter layer and BDOC relationship. Is this possible for you to help here.

Error While Activating the Data Source in RSA5 T-Code

Hi,
When i tried to inactive the data source in 2lis_11_vahdr it shows "Data Source does not exists errror".
So i went to RSA5 T-Code and tried to activate the data source but there it is throwing the error like "Event with errors Extract in Data Source 2LIS_11_VAHDR".
I have checked the above thing with all the data sources every one are throwing the same errors. Can any one please suggest me how to solve the issue.
Or Is this issue related to Basis People?.

1.When i tried to inactive the data source in LBWE T-Code the error is "Data Source 2lis_11_vahdr does not exists ".
2. In RSA5 T-Code while activating the data source the error is "Event with errors Extract in Data Source 2LIS_11_VAHDR".

Error while trying to activate R/3 datasource from BI with T-Code rsa5

hi all,
i want to activate a particular datasource in R/3 through BI.iam following the below steps.
RSA1-->source system>select source system>right click>connection parameters>remote logon>rsa5-select datasource.
when iam trying to activate from rsa5 its giving error like "No valid application component hierarchy exists".when iam trying continue in next window its showing a tree "NONODESCONNECTED" and iam unable to see tree "SAP".
actually am i following the right procedure, if not guide me. please guide me how to solve this issue.

Content Delta in RSA5

Dear Experts,
In RSA5 tcode in the R/3 system, there is a tab/button called "Content Delta"
What is the use and purpose of this?

When you click on this button it will compare the Business content version and customer version for all the datasources and if any datasources have been deleted, it would add them back in RSA5.

It may be simple questions for you but they bother me a while. Please help.
--Do I HAVE TO press 'select delta' before I transfer datasource by clicking 'transfer datasource' in RSA5?
--I transfer application hierarchy AFTER I transfer business content datasource in SBIW. Am I right?

Hi,
With Business Content, with the upgrades you get the update on the data sources in just RSA5. This doesn't reflect on RSA6 if the data source already exists.
In this case, if you expect the data source to be DELTA CAPABLE then, you need to go to RSA5 and click "Transfer DataSource". Later do the respective work on RSA6 and forward. But do ensure, with this there is a possibility of overwrting the mappings and user exit.

Unable to find the list of datasources in RSA5

Hi All,
I am not able to see the list of datasources in RSA5, Ours is a new system and we are in process of implementing the SD and MM modules.
I wanted to activate the datasources related to SD and MM. When I went into t-code RSA5 I am getting a message "No valid application component hierarchy exists".
Can you please let me know how can I get the datasources in RSA5.

Yes, You will get the hierarchy. SBIW is the main program where in you can do many things related to data source.

Activation of Data sources RSA5 for PP

Hi BW Gurus,
I am Activating the Business content Data sources in RSA5 while activation i am getting errors for Master data 0Prodorder_attr and Text
0workcenter_attr and text and hierarchy the data sources are not activating.
It displays the error msg "Request/task QLTK901816 can only be changed in client 320" currently i am working on 330 client for R3.
Please provide the solution for this.

Hi Shahid,
I think the transport request under which you are trying to capture the activated DS is in client 320. Create a new request in your current client (330) and provide this development class and transport request while activating. That should solve your problem. Hope it helps.

Difference between RSA5 and AWB-- Business Content tab?

Hi all,
RSA5 is for installing the business content datasources.
AdministratorWorkBench--> BusinessContent is also used for installing the Business Content Datasources.
So what is the difference between these two options?

RSA5 is inturn a business content.. but it has data sources of the system, from the source system angle.. it will have the related code to pick the data
in business content tab, you will have the data source and destination specific items. it will have the structures to transfer data
ie, if you want to use load data from bw system itself, you wil have to install the data source from rsa5

In RSA5 I did not find 0BATCH Datasource.

I want to know BATCH is a Master Data or not,
If it is a master data, how to load this batch (0BATCH )
In RSA5 I did not find any BC Datasource.

Hi shaik,
From RSD1 --> 0BATCH I do not see any flag for Master Data, so probably you do not have any DataSource.
If you want to upload Atrributes or Text for this IO you must first check corresponding flag in RSD1 for this IO and then create your custom DataSource.
