R/3 SP Import:Open data Extraction requests Error

We are getting the below error when Basis doing the upgrade support packeage in R/3 source system.
Open Data Extraction Requests
The system has found a number of open data extraction requests. These
should be processed before starting the object import process, as
changes to DDIC structures could prevent data extraction requests from
being read after the import, thus causing them to terminate. You can
find more information about this problem in SAP Note 328181.
Call the Customizing Cockpit data extraction transaction and process all
open extraction requests.
Intially we have cleared the entries in LBWQ,RSA7 and SM13.But after clearing these entries also we are getting the same above error.
For support package upgrade in R/3 do we need to delete the SETUP table also in production environment?.
Is there any other way around without deleting the setup table to upgrade support package in R/3 system?
Please help us with your inputs urgently..
Thanks

Thanks Siggi for the suggestion.
We have already cleared the v3 updates by running RMBWV* job manually. After clearing all the entries in LBWQ,RSA7 and SM13 still we have got the same above error.
When we imported In R/3 development system after deleting the setup table we didn't get the above error. But we are concerned about deleting the setup table in production system
though already deltas are running fine.
Is there any other way around? or deleting the setup table is the only option?
Please help...

i checked listed note and implemented the same but still its showing me something in LBWE. i deleted all setup data for all the application data using tcode LBWG but its still showing in LBWE tcode.
this is the error i am getting after runing program 'RMCEXCHK'
Struct. appl. 04 cannot be changed due to setup table -> Long text
    Message no. MCEX141
    Diagnosis
Changing the extract structure  for application 04 is not permitted, because the restructure table MC04P_0ARBSETUP for the extractor still contains data in 800.
You cannot change the structure in this status, because when you load an InfoPackage from BW, this leads to errors.
    Procedure
Delete the entries for all restructure tables for application 04.
Any reply will be highly appreciated.

  • Open data extraction orders -  Applying Support Packs

    Dear All,
I have done the IDES 4.6C SR2 installation.
While updating the support packs, i get the message saying

    Open data extraction orders
There are still open data extraction orders in the system
process these before the start of the object import because changes to the ABAP Dictionary structures could lead to data extraction orders not being able to be read after the import and their processing terminating

    Hi,
When the basis consultants installed a support package, it resulted in an error - 'Numerours open extract requests pending' and have requested ABAPers help.
CAn you please guide me how to process these extract requests.  It will be good, if i get any pointers on this.

    Hello,
I was dealing with same situation on our system and searching for some “safe” solution. Today I found “new” (14 days) SAP “Note 1083709 - Error when you import Support Packages”, which includes a new report RMCEXCHK, which should help you diagnose the steps you need to carry out.
It is somehow similar to the report RMCSBWCC, but this report is LIS structure based (You cannot run it generically).
You already found report RMCEX_SETUP_ENTRIES, which checks for entries in MC*SETUP tables.
I am not  a BW expert, as far as I know, business events triggers insertion of entries in LO queues  MCEX, jobs defined in trans. LBWE (LIS-BW-VB_APPLICATION) periodically transfer data to BW delta queues and from there BW system then gets the data.

  • How to extract OPENING DATE information in /SAPAPO/RRP3 to BW?

    Hi All,
I would like to extract OPENING DATE information in transaction code /SAPAPO/RRP3 to BW. Has anyone tried doing this before?
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Joy

    Hi Joy
We are using  /SAPAPO/EFPL_ORD_NET_GET this FM will give you the entire pegging relationship for any order in the live-cache. While extracting this information you get all the order details with all the required dates.
you need to paas the values to this FM as below.
    I_SIMVERID   = active version 000
I_SIMSESSID = simsession ID you can create using FM /sapapo/RRP_SIMSESSION_CREATE
I_ORDERS_TAB= in this table, you need to pass the CHAR22 GUID of any order like planned/sales order/pur.req..
    Thanks

First when you get an error message you would have to do analysis on the issue of why the load got failed.
Dbl click on the step where you have got an error
Go to the STATUS tab of the step in monitor screen
At the bottom you would find the error details button where you can find what caused the error.
If its a load from source system like R/3 login to the respective system check the status of the job if its completed/Failed
if its completed check if the records that have been fetched
"Analyze the error message in R/3 system if any" which would lead you to the exact issue
pls post the error message for further assistance

  • R/3 Master Data Extraction Using Function Module

    Hi Experts,
Could you please let me know why & How (Detail procedure) to extract R/3 master data using function module.
My team manager asked me to extract master data from R/3 for 3 more attributes of info object '0material' which is already defined as data target.
I would like to know why they are extracting data using function module
    Thanks

The steps for  creating extractor using Function Module. I
    1. Create new Function group (if you have already not done so) in Se80
    2. Copy Function module "RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE" with suitable name.
    3. Change the code that populate data.
Following table may give you the guideline for parameters.
    Parameter Description
I_REQUNR (import) BW provides this request identifier. It is a system-generated identifier in the form REQU_XXXXXX. BW uses this same identifier in all function module calls that relate to a single load.
I_DSOURCE (import) The name of the generic extractor
I_MAXSIZE (import) The maximum number of records that BW expects to be in each data packet
I_INITFLAG (import) A Boolean flag that indicates if this is the initialization (first) call to the function module
I_READ_ONLY (import) A test flag not needed in most extraction scenarios
I_T_SELECT (table) This table holds any selections from the BW InfoPackage. The function module should examine these selections and only return data that matches the selections.
I_T_FIELD (table) This table holds the fields that BW requests
E_T_DATA (table) The function module fills this table with data records. These records then return to BW as data packets. This table has the same structure as the extract structure defined in the generic DataSource.
NO_MORE_DATA (exception) The function module raises this exception when no more data is available
ERROR_PASSED_TO_MESS_HANDLER (exception) The function module raises this exception if an error occurred during the extraction. It alerts BW to check for error logs.
Change following code to put the selection fields
    Select ranges
    RANGES: L_R_CARRID FOR SFLIGHT-CARRID,
    L_R_CONNID FOR SFLIGHT-CONNID.
    Change following to populate data
OPEN CURSOR WITH HOLD S_CURSOR FOR
    SELECT (S_S_IF-T_FIELDS) FROM SFLIGHT
    WHERE CARRID IN L_R_CARRID AND
    CONNID IN L_R_CONNID.
    ENDIF. "First data package ?
    Fetch records into interface table.
    named E_T_'Name of extract structure'.
    FETCH NEXT CURSOR S_CURSOR
    APPENDING CORRESPONDING FIELDS
    OF TABLE E_T_DATA
    PACKAGE SIZE S_S_IF-MAXSIZE.

  • Import back the transport request to Development Server

    Hi All,
I need to import back the Transport request which is in Quality Server to Development Server.
For ex: DEV900764  from Quality to Development Server.
But the same(DEV900764 ) transport request is available in Development also.
How to overwrite the transport request which in Development server ?
I deleted  the request in se01, stms  in DEV server.
Once i updated the copy of Quality to Development in co-file,data file in OS level. But still it show the old one(DEV copy) while importing thro' stms in development server.
    How to solve this ?
actually i need the data of quality transport request

    Hi Milan,
Even though you have deleted the request in Development system and later copy the co-file and data file from Quality to Development it will be the same. What is the reason of transporting from Quality to Development.
Normally requests will move from Development to Quality and to production as you already know. Once the request is released from development and transported to next systems that request will have same data in the request what it was at the time it was released and whenever you re-transport that request it will have same changes.
Why you want to do from Quality to development. If you find any differences in the changes of quality and development then some one might have done the chages directly in quailty with client being opened. If it is the same case then you need to take care of the system and avoid any direct changes. If as per my assumption if really there is any difference then make the  necessary changes directly in development instead of wanting to transport from Quality.
Transporting from Quality to development is not good practise.....

  • ECC Data extraction

    Hello All,
I have a situation in my department where I need to extract the ECC data to third party database (MS SQL). Initially we were thinking of using SAP BW extractors for extraction through SAP PI to push the data out but this doesn't seem to be feasible. Is this a fair assessment of the situation?
What other methods we can use for data extraction? We are evaluating options for ABAP programs, SAP Queries and BAPIs. Is there any other way we can extract this data set. The data set is required for sd,fi-ar/ap,mm,pp.
We donot need data fro real time time basis, but on the same lines of a data warehouse extraction like SAP BW.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks

    Hi
I recently figured out what to do and here is what we do :
Not many would like to allow you to extract data directly from SAP R/3. But we have been successful in extracting data for our in-house implementation of BI at ORG level. You need to understand which tables of R/3 would give you what information.
If that information could be gathered. Then extracting data on BODS is very simple. Though it is a bit tricky and it is not direct. But a we do it as a process of different stages.
    We use BODS 3.1
    Step 1 :
You need to create 2 connections on SAP R/3 Datastore :
    1) conn 1 :
Use the option generate and execute - ABAP Execution option
data transfer mtd : direct download
working directory on SAP Sever : here give local path on which BODS server is running e.g. ; d:\bods
    local directory : : d:\bods
    Generated ABAP directory : d:\bods.
    execute in bg : no
    Create data flow :
    SAPR/3 >>> (sap r/3 table>>>query transformation>>data transport (dat file))
    ||__query transformation >> target database (we have chosen oracle) . You could create a datastore for sql server.
And Import that table table under this connection.
Even for SAP R/3. Import that table immediately after you create the SAP R/3 datastore.
We have used the option of replace file in data transport option in dat file
So that each time you run the job the file gets replaced.
    Step 2 :
Create a job for this work flow
    Run the job.
It will create a dat file and a ABAP File on the specified D: Bods   folder.
    Step 3 :
Send the ABAP File : to sap bw / sap team - requesting them to create this ABAP program. and make it available on your SAP R/3 System.
(We found this is easy to do for anyone, all that you need is to copy paste and activiate and do the transport to the sap r/3 system and does not require any time to do any ABAP programming - as such)
Note : For the data store creations of SAP R/3 : THE user name being used. Need to have access to all the required tables of SAP R/3. Otherwise data access will not happen. You can chek the data flow at each stage and it will say, not authorised. If you dont have access.
    Step 4 :
    Now create another SAP R/3 Connection conn2 ;
This connection will use the option : execute preloaded (abab execution option)
    execute in bg : no
data transfer method : shared directory
working directory on sap server :  d:\bi_share
(Create a shared folder on sap r/3 server : :\BI_SHARE (the user on data store should have complete access of read and write on this shared folder)
application path to share directory :
    sapservername
    bi_share
    Step  5 :
Now if you have the ABAP Prog already available on your R/3 system.
Re-run the job finally using the new data store for execute - preloaded.
which is pointing to the shared directory of sap server itself.
And this job can be scheduled on production BODS server finally.
    ======================================================
Wherever required, import the tables under the related data store.
Although it might sound a lengthy process. Actually, it hardly takes a very little time, compared to the time involved in trying to ask someone on ABAP to code / or take help of BW or whatever.
We have done things on DEV BODS tested the same.
then we have moved everything into production.
And till date : it has been successful for us.
We have taken help of ABAP programers only when we explicity required some customised logical programming. Which was not available directly on SAP R/3 system.
Otherwise if we generally pull all the fields once we take any table from SAP R/3 so that i could be used any time later. Even if not required today.
And SO with a little effort, even a person who is new to SAP R/3  or BW or BODS.... like me, is able to manage. So, it is not difficult i suppose.
    Good Luck.
We have used oracle for reporting database. And sql server should also work the same way.
We use sql server only for meta data information.
like BO Repository or BODS repository
    Cheers
    Indu

  • Data extraction for BW/BI

    Hi ,
I am new in BW.Can anyone send me material on DATA EXTRACTION IN BW? I mainly want the material for LO-extraction.If anyone could provide the material on extractors like LO-cockpit,Generic data source etc.I will be really thankful. Please send the material at  "baljinder4u_gmail.com" .
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Rakesh
Step-by-step control flow for a successful data extraction with SAP BW:
       1.  An InfoPackage is scheduled for execution at a specific point of time or for a certain system- or user-defined event.
       2.  Once the defined point of time is reached, the SAP BW system starts a batch job that sends a request IDoc to the SAP source system.
       3.  The request IDoc arrives in the source system and is processed by the IDoc dispatcher, which calls the BI Service API to process the request.
       4.  The BI Service API checks the request for technical consistency. Possible error conditions include specification of DataSources unavailable in the source system and changes in the DataSource setup or the extraction process that have not yet been replicated to the SAP BW system.
       5.  The BI Service API calls the extractor in initialization mode to allow for extractor-specific initializations before actually starting the extraction process. The generic extractor, for example, opens an SQL cursor based on the specified DataSource and selection criteria.
       6.  The BI Service API calls the extractor in extraction mode. One data package per call is returned to the BI Service API, and customer exits are called for possible enhancements. The extractor takes care of splitting the complete result set into data packages according to the IDoc control parameters. The BI Service API continues to call the extractor until no more data can be fetched.
       7.  The BI Service API finally sends a final status IDoc notifying the target system that request processing has finished (successfully or with errors specified in the status IDoc).
    Note
Control parameters specify the frequency of intermediate status IDocs, the maximum size (either in kilobytes or number of lines) of each individual data package, the maximum number of parallel processes for data transfer, and the name of the application server to run the extraction process on.
*Here is LO Cockpit Step By Step*
    LO EXTRACTION
    - Go to Transaction LBWE (LO Customizing Cockpit)
    1). Select Logistics Application
           SD Sales BW
                Extract Structures
2). Select the desired Extract Structure and deactivate it first.
3). Give the Transport Request number and continue
4). Click on `Maintenance' to maintain such Extract Structure
Select the fields of your choice and continue
                 Maintain DataSource if needed
    5). Activate the extract structure
6). Give the Transport Request number and continue
    - Next step is to Delete the setup tables
    7). Go to T-Code SBIW
    8). Select Business Information Warehouse
    i. Setting for Application-Specific Datasources
    ii. Logistics
    iii. Managing Extract Structures
    iv. Initialization
    v. Delete the content of Setup tables (T-Code LBWG)
vi. Select the application (01 u2013 Sales & Distribution) and Execute
    - Now, Fill the Setup tables
    9). Select Business Information Warehouse
    i. Setting for Application-Specific Datasources
    ii. Logistics
    iii. Managing Extract Structures
    iv. Initialization
    v. Filling the Setup tables
vi. Application-Specific Setup of statistical data
vii. SD Sales Orders u2013 Perform Setup (T-Code OLI7BW)
Specify a Run Name and time and Date (put future date)
                 Execute
    - Check the data in Setup tables at RSA3
    - Replicate the DataSource
    Use of setup tables:
You should fill the setup table in the R/3 system and extract the data to BW - the setup tables is in SBIW - after that you can do delta extractions by initialize the extractor.
Full loads are always taken from the setup tables

  • How to get useful data from request?

    Hello.
I am looking for creating a management tool for a web site. All I want is that is there any ready to use API or package or open source project for retrieving users information? I just mean that is there any easy to use way in java to get useful data from a client (for example location, his or her system configuration and information ).
    Thanks.

If you dump all the data from request (see the javadoc, and especially the "header methods" ) you'll see the data you can get are quite simple.
    The only thing you can try to rely on are ;
    - the IP address from the sender (when reversed to DNS, you can sometime use the tld to locate the country it comes from. Yet, you'll get many .com name, so it's not that significant. it may also give you the IAP used). Note that if the user is using a proxy, it's the proxy IP that you'll collect
    - the User-Agent header : from this, you can guess the OS and the browser used
    - the Referer header : usefull to get where your user comes from (where they found a link to your site)
    - the Cookie header : if you're using a servlet container with session id stored in cookie, you should see the Cookie header appear on the second request to your site. That helps finding out wether your user accep cookie or not (from a server point).
Besides these, i don't think you can get any other useful data without asking your users on a form. Note that it's the client that decides to send Referer, User-Agent or Cookie headers. Those are not mandatory to the Http Protocole and some browser allow their user to fool their content (butmore than 90% of the widespread browsers don't)

    Dear Experts,

    Hi,
The only othe way to acheive this would be with SDK really. I've heard of people doing things like this in the past where the volume of data was so much that it was worthwhile to write some code, but to be honest if you're relatively proficient in DTW then you can have done the job by the time you've conned a programmer into writing it for you!
    Good luck!

Can I use LiveCycle Designer 8.2 to auto populate textfields in a PDF-file with data from a XML-file when the user opens the PDF-file? If so, how will I do it? Is there any guide?
It works fine in the Livecycle Designer preview but when I open the PDF-file all textfields are empty. It also works fine if I import data from a OLEDB-connection.

I'm looking for a solution for the same thing. I have a pdf form with fields bound to an xml file, but Acrobat will only import the data manually (Forms / Manage Form Data / Import Data) and Reader doesn't work at all.
Tech Support says that when in Livecycle, you're working in an xml environment, so the 'Preview PDF' works. Acrobat and Reader aren't xml environments, so they won't display the data.
What we need is a javascript programmer who can figure this out. Possibly using the remerge function. Anyone???
