R.i.p iphone a letter to apple!!!
well where to start. maybe my frustration will come out on this post but i need to vent.
here it goes my iphone told me to update so i last night i plug my phone in to itunes and let it do its thing, then after a while i had an error message saying it couldnt update and my iphone then wouldnt turn on propley. just got an apple icon, so i took it out of the computer and tried again nothing....so i plug it back in to my comp and i would get this message.. this phone needs to be restored so i click the restore button and it will go half way then say this iphone couldnt be restord error(6) so after freaking out abit. i carmly ring optus they put me thru steps which i did and i still get nothing. they then told me to call this morning as they have a better support team so after stressing a lil i rang them again i unistalled itunes re downloaded and did every thing they asked i tried again and still nothing... my iphone is bricked after i updated it thanks apple. i now have to wait weeks now to get it replaced this is bull!!!!! im so angry i wished i never got this phone ur updates are so buggy and now im with out a phone for a while i need my phone to get calls what am i suppose to do now!

Here is some suggestion:
Restore your iphone by using DFU (Device Firmware Update)mode (DFU mode doesn't boot the OS)
regular restore mode will boot up the phone's OS
try to follow this link for "how to enter DFU mode"

now you will have a clean restore
but 2.1 still have a lot of bugs, still hang and freeze from time to time
wait for v2.2 for fixes (hopefully)

You can create a new Apple ID without using a credit card for download free apps by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534. Follow it exactly as writtien. Note that you have to download and try to install a free app and then create the ID.

I just recently purchased 3 songs from itunes not knowing that I had no money on my debit card (visa) left. My iphone wont let me update my apps and says that there was a billing problem with my last purchase. I dont know what I am supposed to do! I dont understand why it worked in the first place when it wasn't supposed to!
There seems to be a billing problem with the iTS. I've been trying to make purchases today (Dec 9th) too and it reports either the iTS can not process payments or it says my card was declined. I even changed the payment method to Paypal (which is never declined) and still no go.
I don't think it is "you" but a problem at Apple. Some popular new apps were released recently like Logic Pro and perhaps they're getting bombarded as they did when Lion was released.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I was researching the issue you are having and recommend a couple of things. First it might be a good idea to reset the device following iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't quite get the device going again, I recommend restoring the device.

Might even be a good idea to turn off the phone, reseat the SIM card, and turn it back on.

I have a iPad and iPhone with the same Apple ID, but on Game Center I have used the same id for both devices and they are two different profiles and I was wondering how to have one of the accounts on both devices.

If you are using the same Apple ID on both devices, the Game Center profile should be the same.
Check out this information from the iPad User Guide. Try signing out of the Game Center on both devices and then sign back in with the correct Apple ID:

"down lighted"? Do you mean grayed out? If so, the go to Settings and check to be sure restrictions are not turned on. They need to be off.

my iphone 4s has always been shutting down randomly ever since i bought it. Since I bought it online, will i be able to get an iphone replacement in an apple store?
Schedule an appointment with the Genius bar and let them evaluate the device. Where it was purchased (online or in store) is not relevant.
Keep in mind though, warranty and service are only available in the country where the device was originally sold by Apple or their official reseller.
