R12 Installation Issue in RHEL-5

I have downloaded R12.1(RAPID INSTALL START,RDBMS SOFTWARE,R12 DATABASE,RAPID INSTALL TOOLS,APPL_TOP) and unziped all the zip files. I started with /u01/startCD/Disk1/rapidwiz/. rapidwiz and everything went smoothly upto "Rapid Install Wizard Alert" and then got a message as given below.I am in the middle of R12.1 installation (on RHEL-5) and got a strange message.System Check Status was OK.
Select the root directory of the required Rapid Install Disk
Enter the location for the disk labled:
Oracle A[pplications Rapid Install - RDBMS Disk 1
After putting the RDBMS Disk 1 Path (correct location) , the installation process won't start.
I have installed Oracle Application Server 10g(MID,INFRA), Oracle Database-10g on this server without any issues.
Any suggestion to fix it up...........

Oracle Client 11gR2 installation issue on RHEL v5.4 64-bit

I am trying to install Oracle Client software 11gR2 on RHEL v5.4 64-bit. I have resolved all the libraries dependency as well as Kernel changes as suggested by the installer. The error in the log file is as attached. At present I have "skipped" this error and proceeded with installation.

Also when I invoke the SQL Client; sqlplus user@db and enter the password, the sqlplus exits without any error and returns to the terminal console. Please note earlier I has getting a SELinux violation and have changed it to "permissive" mode
Please let me know how to resolve NetCA installation and the sqplus issue.

Hi,
Thet NetCA error occurs during installation and I believe the installer should take care of the ORACLE_HOME variable setting.
But before invoking sqlplus I have set the ORACLE_HOME and LD_LIBRARY_PATH setting in the .bash_profile as mentioned in the installation guide. The snippet of the profile file is:
export ORACLE_HOME=~/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/client_1
export JAVA_HOME=$ORACLE_HOME/jdk
export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH;
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export TNS_ADMIN=$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
export TWO_TASK=mmcoedb
I am able to tnsping to the server/service name too but when I try to login using the user/password using sqlplus, it simply exits without any error.
Please let me know how to resolve the error.

Pre - R12 installation issue

I got the following problems after installing Cygwin. Before installing Cygwin I installed Visual Studio 2005.
C:\cygwin\bin>copy gcc.exe cc.exe
gcc.exe
The system cannot find the file specified.

C:\cygwin\bin>copy gawk.exe awk.exe

Could Not Find C:\cygwin\bin\awk.exe

Thank you. I deleted awk.exe and copied from gawk.exe again - it worked. Now I need to copy from gcc.exe to cc.exe. The problem now is gcc.exe. It's property has 8 tabs (others have 3 tabs only) and can't find in DOS and I don't know how to change it. BTW, there is gcc-3.exe and I can see it from DOS. Are they the same? What I should do?

Issues in R12 installation

what are the common challenges faced in oracle R12 installation
or issues

Make sure you do the following:
- Create the stage area properly
- Apply pre-req. OS packages
- Setup hostname/domainname
- Have proper permission on the stage/oracle directories
- Create users and set the path properly
Always refer to Metalink notes and the installation manual before starting the installation.

R12 installation giving me error [while loading shared libraries: librt.so]

Hello ..
I am installing Fresh R12 installation on Fedora. I was doing Single node installation. Installation was going fine but at the point when it said run "autoconfig.sh" for APPS_TIER. I went to $INST_TOP/admin/scripts and ran "autoconfig.sh". After that installer showed me all the errors and when i try to see the log file.
I am getting following errors.
[oracle@aurie / ]$ ls
ls: error while loading shared libraries: librt.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[oracle@aurie / ]$ su - root
su: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypt.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Now, I cant do anything on this machine, I try rebooting it but no matter what command i try to run i am getting above error.
Cant find any solution online.
any help would be appreciated.

After r12 installation error autocofig

Hi,
after install R12 1.1
on rhel 5
while running autocofig takes 3 hours to complet.
ERRORCODE = 0 ERRORCODE_END
please guide me

we have changed ip address of server AFAIK Oracle apps do not refer to IP address so this change should not have impacted anything unless you have changed hostname, ports etc..
The only reason i can thnk off is network issue when autoconfig makes connection with db(hoping it on different server)...but if this is the case then every connection from apps to db should take more time....is their any network change with this IP?
As suggest by husssien did you check autoconfig logs to confirm as where it is stucking....maybe if you can run it again then check at which stage it is taking long time....

Lightroom 4.2 Installation Issue

Leaving this around in case anyone else has the same problem -- Solution found -- Windows installer issues / registry issues -- used the Microsoft Fix it tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso3) to correct. 4.2 install ran fine.
I've read through the posts in the Lightroom forum regarding LR 4.2 install issues. I will list here the things I've done to try to get the install to work:
1) Downloaded the installation software twice.
2) Ran the setup program in admin user mode.
3) Ran the install in admin user mode.
4) Get the following error in a Windows Installer window:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi' in the box below.
Use source:
c:\Users\RMJF\AppData\Local\Temp\{...}
What I have found (after displaying hidden AppData folder):
The location where the .msi file resides is different from the one defaulting in the above window.
I select this alternate path, but still cannot complete the installation.
Furthermore, when I cancel the install, I get this error:

I have been running LR since the beginning of time and most recently LR 4.1, so there is no 4.2 installed.
Also, I tried to fix the install of 4.1 via the programs in Control Panel. I cannot repair it and get this error:
The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
All versions (except the 1.0 version) were downloaded and installed from the Adobe LR site.
So, looking for suggestions.
Seems like there are some missing files from the 4.1 version that are hindering the install of 4.2???
All quite frustrating. Hope you can get me to a speedy solution.
(System info: Windows Vista 64-bit Home, SP 2, 20 GB of disk space to spare! Also, I have set the install program to be allowed by the anti-virus program. I have run a registry clean-up, as well. No other apps are running during the install.)

Its mean if you have patch 8940108 on your system already and if you try to apply patch 7708340 than you dont need to apply patch 7708340,coz patch 8940108 already cover patch 7708340.
You can try this

I've successfully set-up the latest copy of openSuse11 64 bit version with: Tomcat 6.0.16 (Tested and running) ANT 1.7 JAVA SDK & JDK 6 Junit (ant-junit, junit, junit-javadoc, junit-manual, libcppunit-1_12-0) Downloaded both blazeds.war and blazeds_src_3-0-0-544.zip From Tomcat Manager I uploaded the blazeds.war file successfully. I unzipped the zip file into root/blazeds and from a command prompt ran ant. These are the errors Im getting: * [taskdef] Could no load definitions from resource net/sf/antcontrib/antcontrib.properties. It could not be found. (Repeats about a dozen times) * BUILD FAILED * /root/blazeds/build.xml:445: The following error occurred while executing this line: * /root/blazeds/resources/fds-ajax-bridge/build.xml:52 Problem: failed to create task or type if Cause: The name is undefined. * Action: Check the spelling * Action: Check that any custom tasks/types have been declared * Action: Check that any <presetdef>/<mac rodef> declarations have taken place. Variables: env | grep _HOME ANT_HOME = /usr/share/ant JRE_HOME =/usr/lib64/jvm/java/jre JAVA_HOME =/usr/lib64/jvm/java/jre SDK_HOME =/usr/lib64/jvm/java/jre JDK_HOME =/usr/lib64/jvm/java/jre Any ideas? Sorry I've been away and just got back. Presently I'm working from jrun4 and would like to use blazeds instead. Once my projects get going I would need the ability to use my customers already made linux/tomcat boxes and just plug in blaze.

Forms 10g Installation issue on windows 7 Professional service pack 1

I am trying to install oracle forms 10g 64 bit windows 7 Professional service pack 1 ..
Below are 2 files that i am using ..
ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
But it failed but the error is ..
Checking operating system version: must be 4.0, 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2. Actual 6.1 Failed <<<<
just wondering if there are any workaround ..

Christian is right - Forms 10g R2 (version 10.1.2.0.2) is not certified for installation on Windows 7. You must apply a Forms 10g R2 patch to bring the version to 10.1.2.3.0 for it to be certified. You must have a My Oracle Support account to obtain the patch.
Now, to your question - is there a workaround; the answer is yes. There are known issues with this installer. I'll list them and their workaround.
1. The Oracle installer checks for a specific set of Windows versions rather than check for a minimum Windows version.
Workaround: Right-click the Installer and select Properties. Click the Compatibility tab and click the checkbox: Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP SP3).
2. The Oracle Installer can't detect Windows Managed Virtual Memory (VM).
Workaround: You must temporarily change the Virtual Memory settings and specify specific Initial and Maximum sizes. See this Microsoft article for more information on changing VM settings. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory
This change will require you to restart your computer. After you have successfully installed Oracle Forms 10g, you can restore the original VM settings.
3. The Oracle installer MUST be installed as an "Administrator".
Workaround: Windows 7 uses "Least privileged user" so you must right-click the Installer and select the Compatibility tab. Click the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox.
4. Not a Oracle installer issue, but you will have to install the 32-bit version of the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (1.6.0 - not 1.7.0) because Oracle Forms is a 32-bit application so it will not be able to use the 64-bit JRE.
Run the Oracle installer and it should now install succesfully.

HP Photosmart D7360 -- Driver/Installation issue

For some reason my HP Pavillion Laptop no longer recognizes my HP Photosmart printer. I have downloaded the drivers, I have the disk and no matter what I do, I can't get the printer driver to install.
It tells me that it can load verythign BUT the driver. Any ideas?

Oracle EBS R12 installation problem in Windows 2003

Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle EBS R12 on Windows 2003 R2. I have installed cygwin along with required packages and also Visual studio 2005 as specified in the prerequisites of installation document.
All the validations are successful before installation but I am facing error during installation in Step3 at about 53 percent. When i checked the log file, I found that some of the files required for installation are not found in my staging area. Now I want to run MD5sum on the Staged Files.
I had downloaded md5sum_windows.txt and also run this command :
md5sum --check md5sum_Windows.txt > md5sum_result.txt
In md5sum_result.txt, I am getting error for all files. Error message is as :
oraAppDB\Disk1\data\driver\Disk1.drv
: FAILED open or read
This is repeating for all files. But i can see that the files are present in My Staging area. Do i need to set some permission for this. Please help. Desperately want to install EBS as part of perparation for my planned certification.

I have downloaded all the 33 files in oracle edelivery site. I have seen a post of yours regarding Oracle R12 installation on Windows XP. It mentions only some 25 files. Please do not rely on the that thread as it was for 12.0.x installation.
For R12 (12.1.1) you need to download the following files:
From: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Rapid Install Start Here (Part 1 of 4)
To: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) Rapid Install APPL_TOP - Disk 2 (Part 2 of 2)
Is it possible that contents of the zip file are lost during download because my stage area is about 39 GB . and also I have verfied all the files in edelivery site is downloaded too.
Also the error i mentioned in my last post, I can see the file in the directory but still its showing read error. Is it due to corruption of data. That would mean that I will have to download all 40 GB again :-(It is easy to verify the contents of the stage area directory without running md5sum, so please do so and post the results here.

NWDS installation issue - "Please wait... completing the install"

Hi all,
I got the same "Problem" each time I update my NWDS.

After the installation, when I start the NWDS I get always the message:
"Please wait... completing the install"
If I create a new Workspace this really solves the problem but I don't like to create every time a new workspace after an update and copy all my projects back to this new workspace.
Is there no other solution around? I think I'm not the only one who has this troubles, am I?

Hi all,
I solved this problem by myself. So for everyone who is interested in how to solve this problem:
Just delete the folder .config in
\workspace\.metadata\
During the next start of NWDS this folder will be created and everything will work as excpected!
