  • R12 Applications Patch

    Hi,
I need clarifications about R12 applied patches,
we are in multi node, 1 node for applications and 1 node for database.
we have successfully migrate R12 application to the new target server but since the new target server isn't fully ready we hold the sync process of the database to new applications system.
while we are on hold the source application are being patched for several times.
so what i would like to asks could we also apply the same patch to the target application which is using the same databases ?
    Thanks,
    Hendra

Yes you can apply the patches using nodatabaseportion option -- AD Command Line Options for Release R12 [ID 1078973.1]

What will the worker do while applying R12application patch ?Process the patch jobs -- http://www.oracle.com/pls/ebs121/search?word=Workers+AND+Patch
What all the information will be present in the tables FND_INSTALLED_PROCESS and AD_DEFFERED_JOBS ?Details about the workers jobs -- Query those tables when you apply any patch using adpatch or run adadmin for details.
Is there any connection between worker and these tables?Yes -- Those table are created with the workers start processing the jobs, and they will be dropped once the workers are done.
Since those table are temporary (used during adpatch sessions), you will not find much details about them. However, please see these links/docs and you will find many hits.

    Hi,
Any idea what does patch driver file (.drv) contains?

    Hi,
It contains instructions/actions of copying/generating the files that adpatch requires to apply the fix.
More details can be found in (Note: 174436.1 - Oracle Applications Patching FAQ).

I've tried using options=noprereq option, but that didn't help.

    - Try to restore the file from a backup you have Or just copy it from any other environment.
    - Make sure that you have included all pre-req patches in the merged file.
I've tried using options=noprereq optionBy this you tell adpatch not to check for pre-req, use 'options=prereq' instead.

  • 11.5.10.2 -12.1.1 Upgrade- American English patch driver taking long time

    Hi,
I have performed test upgrade from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1.It was successful.
The American English Upgrade patch driver had taken 20 hours time to complete.
Now i am doing a second test run by following the same steps, but now the same patch is taking long time. It is running from past 24 hours.
And still 54000 jobs to complete.
The main difference between my two test runs is
1.For first instance both database and apps are in one server. (single node)
2.For this new test instance, we have database running one server and 12.1.1 file system on another server.
Will it make any difference? How can i diagnose the issue?
The patch log is not showing any errors, but taking long time to complete.
    Thanks,
