  • The itunes library file cannot be saved. you do not have access privileges for this operation

Help, I just cant get rid of this error message:
The itunes library file cannot be saved. you do not have enough access privileges for this operation.

The location of the iTunes Library file may be read-only or owned by a different user.
    Default locations:
    XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<login>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
    Vista: C:\Users\<login>\Music\iTunes
    Windows 7: C:\Users\My Music\itunes
Right click the iTunes folder and choose Properties
Look at the Attributes and see if Read-Only is checked.
Uncheck it and click OK, at the apply to all subfolders and files prompt, make sure all subfolders and files is selected and click OK.
If your iTunes library saves now you are done.
If it does not you will need to try on each directory above the iTunes directory.
Of course if you are not using the default locations you'll have to alter the path to the one you find in iTunes Edit->Preferences, Advanced tab.

  • The itunes library cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privelages for this operation

Hello, the new problem is this, the error message in the title of this discussion keeps appearing "The itunes library cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privelages for this operation"....I've read suggestions on access privelages but they are all granted to me (my admin and user accounts) and I have full control over itunes, yet the message STILL appears everytime I re-open itunes. Does anyone know any solutuions? I'm on 64 bit Windows 7.

I am intrigued by this as it comes up from time to time without a solution.
It is very odd if iTunes opens withoout creating a library file, it should create an empty file i.e. one with no music in it, are you absolutely sure that it does not create a new iTunes Library.itl? - It really should open at all if it can't do that.
Normally when iTunes can't create a library file it refuses to open and gives a message "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found". This is due to a registry problem in which the location of the My Music folder is not correctly set and iTunes uses this to determine where the iTunes folder should be.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302398
If iTunes won't open when you remove the library file - it's worth giving that a go.
Was iTunes able to create a library file and culd you add music to it when you created a new user account? That shows whether the issue is a user specific issue or a more general problem. There are a couple of other things I am wondering about.

    Hi,
I’m currently running into an issue exporting Reporting Services reports to Excel that I haven’t encountered before. Unfortunately, I’m not able to find much information
about this error directly related to SQL Server Reporting Services. The error occurs on multiple reports with a varying number of rows (static columns). The reports are simple list reports with no custom code, etc.

    Thoughts, comments or suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hi K. Beckett,
Based on the error message, the issue may be a timeout issue related to the structured storage which is used as a container for storing binary Office documents. As I know, the structured storage is only used to store OLE objects or macros in Office Open
XML documents. By default, SSRS 2012 use Office Open XML format when exporting a report to Excel. To check whether your report server uses Excel renderer (xls) or ExcelOPENXML renderer (xlsx), please export another report and check the file extension. If it’s
an .xls file, it means that you have enabled Excel 2003 renderer for SSRS 2012. Besides, the name should be Excel 2003 in the drop down list of the Export option if you have enabled the Excel renderer in the rsereportserver.config file, and the EXCELOPENXML
renderer displays as Excel in the drop-down list of the Export option.
So, if you are using the Excel renderer instead of EXCELOPENXML renderer, use the EXCELOPENXML to see if the issue persists.
If it is not the case, I suggest that modify the timeout value for the SharePoint Web Application and the report execution timeout.

  • "Field ID of Standard Location Structure for Development empty" error?

    Hi there
I am implementing the land use management enhancement. It allows me to define an object called a "Public Register" which represents a "set" of land objecs (land parcels, rental units, etc) under special circumstances such as hazardous areas.
Unfortunately it returns two errors on validation/save:
Field ID of Standard Location Structure for Development empty
Field ID of Standard Location Structure for Easement Reg empty
It has no description or reference to any documentation.
    What could this error mean?
    Regards
    Joe

    Hi Joe,
could you please tell me the ID and number of the error messages.
    Thanks.
    Regards, Franz

  • Error msg:  "do not have enough access priviliges for this operation"

    Windows 7
    iTunes 9.0.2.25
When I open itunes, I get this error msg :
I get a "Can not save a library file - I do not have enough access priviliges for this operation."
    Any suggestions?

I went ahead and add my Program files(86)/iTunes as an Exclusion in the Eset Advanced Set up any ways- just in case.
As well as that, you'd need to set an exclusion on the iTunes library and media files (as per their instructions for 2000/XP/Vista when using Smart Security 3.x).
The default location for the relevant folder on Windows 7 is:
    C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\

  • TS3697 The iPhone cannot be synched..You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.

While trying to sync photos between my iTunes on windows with a new iPhone I get this err message: The iPhone "Your iPhone" cannot be synced. You do not enough access privileges for this operation. How can I correct this?

Try creating a folder in a different location (outside of the Pictures library such as on your desktop), copying the pictures you want to sync to this folder, then syncing this folder to your phone by selecting to do so on the Photos tab of your iTune sync settings.  If you still get this error try disabling your anti-virus software and syncing. If still having problems try deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder, usually located in your Pictures library.

When I try to sync my iPhone, I get the message: The iPhone cannot be synced. You do not have enough access priveleges for this operation.
The iPhone won't sync anymore.  How can I fix this?

This works even for my ipod on my computer. I recently time machined myself and when i open intunes it always does all that backgroud magic and  pops up saying "....You do not have enough access priveleges for this operation."
It turns out i don't need that, because i do not use sync. I do not sync. I don't use the sync. I abstain from getting my sync on...etc.
The first solution posted above works, i'll repeat it but  credit goes to King_Penguin a true friend from the motherland! Just find this one file and delete it.

I'll save you the legwork, heres what you'll find at that first link, and it works. Win the game!
"When iTunes attempt to perform a photo synchronization for the first time it will try to create a folder on the computer called "iPod Photo Cache". You normally can located at:

the iphone cannot be synced. you don't have enough access privileges for this operation
contacts ,calander and notes get syncronised but apps do not . at 4 stage above message come

If you still want to sync your photos try this instead:
    1. Go to the Pictures folder in the Finder window (Pictures usually appears under Favorites in the sidebar of the Finder window)
    2. **Locate the iPhoto Library file and Right click on the file and select Show Package Contents.
    3. Locate the iPod Photo Cache folder and delete it.
    4. Try the sync process again, it should work.
** Sometimes the iPod Photo Cache folder is simply in the Pictures folder and step 2 is not necessary

iPod Classic 80GB. Message reads ' iTunes library cannot be saved you do not have enough access privileges for this operation'.  It says it has synced but it hasn't. Please help, I am not very tech minded.

See this article about troubleshooting the error message regarding access privelages.  It may be preventing your iTunes library from being able to save/retain music you have recently imported to it, which may explain why no new content is being added to your device.

  • What does this message mean, "The iPad cannot be synced.  You do not have enough access privileges for this operation?"

I need some help syncing my iPad.  I get a message about not having enough privileges for this operation.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

It means you are using windows and the user agent stuff is messed up.
Try looking at permissions on the drive iTunes library is on.

I recently installed a new hard drive on my PC, downloaded iTunes, updated the software on my iPod touch and now I get this error message when I try to sync:  "you do not have enough access privileges for this operation."  It never did this before, whether it's the upgrade in software or something in iTunes, but it's very frustrating, since I'd like to add more things to my iPod.
