Fortunately, I took the two financial beta exams on 13rd and 14th. The number of the questions in the beta exam is too much for a foreigner (I'm a Chinese), because we need some more time to read and undertand the questions. Anyway, I answered the most of the questions at the last second and have the confidence to pass at least one exam:-)

Oracle Applications R12 certifications

Hi All,
I've been working on oracle applications R12 version for last 3 years , i would like to do my certification in finance modules (AP,AR) . Basically i'm working on technical side , since i would like to which path i've to choose in apps certifcation. And what is the main defference between Certified Implementation Specialist(1Z0-517) and Certified Expert Consultants (1Z0-215). Please help to clarify.

... THe give away will be in the topics and training. Both are 'OCS' which are sometimes more orientated towards partners. The 'difficulty' of OCS can vary. The essentials exam is likely to be easier and likely to be more easier.
I am saying this without experience of the exams.

And is it mandatory to have Instructor-led training from Oracle University or Oracle certified partner to get get those tests?

Clarification on OCP certification Upgrade

Hi,
Currently I am having OCP certification on 9i Database and I am planning to upgrade it later on planning to do certification on R12.
The below link says certification path regarding the R12 Certification.

As per this link the pre-requisite for R12 certification is 10g or 11g OCP. If I do the Database OCP certification upgrade to 12c will I be able to take R12 certification?

Are you referring to R12 EBusiness Suite (which is the URL you've provided) or Database release 12c ? Two different products.

Hi,
I am planning to write Oracle E-Business Suite Certificaiton.
I am basically a developer and would like to get certified in Oracle EBS.
I have development exposure of OAF, PLSQL, Java etc.
Ques 1) Can someone guide me through, which is the one i should give first.

GL Reporting off E-business

Hi there
Am after a bit of help regarding getting GL information off E-business.
Does anyone know of some tools that could perform some ad-hoc querying off E-business that a non-technical user in Finance could use easily?

The two most well-known are probably OBIEE and Noetix - these provide pre-packaged "intelligence" that hides the table complexity from end users.

How to prepare for the EBS R12 Supply Chain OCE Certification

Hello everybody,
I post this thread because I'm going to take the exams to get the certification as Oracle EBS R12 Supply Chain Certified Expert Consultant and I'd like to understand how to best prepare myself.
Is there anyone who has already got this certification and can indicate me the best material to prepare myself?
I've worked on Oracle EBS (R11) for more than nineteen months up to now, focusing on the purchasing area, but I don't think that that could be sufficient to pass the required exams...

R12.1.3 certification for JDK and other products on Oracle Linux 6

Hello
We are in the process of migrating R12.1.3 from Linux 5.4 (64bit) on physical server to OEL 6.5 (64bit) on Oracle VM.
Currently running IAS 10.1.3.5 , Forms 10.1.2.3, JDK 1.6_10 on HTTP Server Node and 1.4.2_14-b05 on Developer 10g (Forms/Reports). JRE client is 1.6_24.
The future state is R12.1.3 on OEL 6.5 on Oracle VM with JRE 7.
The plan is to use Rapid Clone as we are already on 10.1.3.5 and DB 11.2.0.3.
The uncertainty is with JDK as the certification on MOS for R12.1.3/OEL 6 indicates minimum version of JDK is 1.6_26.
Should I upgrade to JDK 1.6_26 as a minimum, on the apps tier 10.1.3_HOME and 10.1.2_HOME on Linux 5.4 before cloning to OEL 6.5? Or can we continue running the current JDK apps tier versions on OEL 6.5 and only upgrade the client to JRE 7, without updating JDK?
Taking into account the current versions, can I use the pre-build R12.1.3 VM templates on the new hardware and then clone?
Furthermore, I read the following comment on Steven Chan's blog, it was in June 2012, are these products certified now?

EBS R12 Apps Tier certification & support on EXADATA V2

Hi All,
I know that 11gR2 ebs databases are certified/supported with Exadata v2.
But my question is;
Is EBS R12(12.1.3) APPS Tier (forms, report,concurrent etc..) certified/supportd with Exadata V2 -- OS = Linux ?
And also where can I find this certification/support information? --written

I just thought that because it s application tier, it doesnt do db io , so it could work like on a standard oel on local disks, no exadata specific system code, that's why no hardware dependency.

Now acording to http://www.certcuard.com Now at least one, and i believe both, of the sites you are referencing contain unauthrorized / braindump material.
And if you trawl with a search engine looking for free certiifcation related material for that exam you will end up 99% of the time with braindump or unauthorized learning material.
And a lot of people will try to direct you to uauthorized learning material or material in breach of copyright. Often what people say is 'free' is material posted in breach of copyright.

R12.1.3 certification on Linux on Power systems

We are planning to migrate R12.1.3 env from IBM AIX 6.1 Powers systems to Linux. We want to continue using the power systems on linux, so I am looking for options on Linux platform. It appears that only IBM power system are certified, but I have seen fews notes which say that we can have a split configuration with 11g database on Linux on power system and R12.1.3 apps tier on Linux on intel ( x86-64). Please let me know the options I have. Thank you, Amaresh
