I can't open any PDF!!! why??? I have version 10.1.8.  I have used one product that goes up to 1.7. HELP!!! I am using MAC computer.

I'm not familiar with this product, so I can't comment on it.
PDF files can get corrupt when sent via email using a wrong encoding, for example. To prevent it zip them up before emailing them.
Or it could be any number of other reasons, like a faulty hard-drive, download problems, etc.

  • Could not open the data form of " unable to get file path " (-43)

I am trying to backup my wife's home directory. I've tried twice and ended up with costers each time. One with a DVD and another with a CD-R. I did try to backup some of the folders in her ~/Libray folder, could that be the problem?
    Thanks,
    Alfredo

If you have FWHDs hooked up to both machines, why are you trying to backup to disk? You're better off just dragging the Users folder to the ext FWHD.
BTW, fnfErr = -43, /*File not found*/, but I don't know why you'd get that error message putting files into a disk image or using Finder's find.

  • Web Intelligence report scheduling: Error "Could not open the file"

    Hello,
we are on BO 4.0 SP9 Patch 1.
Since the update to this patch level we have intermittent failure of scheduled reports in Web Intelligence.
Error message is: "Could not open the file *.wid"
There has been neither a change of the report nor a promotion.
    Former schedules finished successful.
SAP note search or SCN search only showed notes with the issue that this error occurs after a promotion.
Does anyone has experiences with this error?

    Hi Sebastian,
If Hot Back is enabled I would suggest turning this feature off unless it’s a business requirement.
In addition as a workaround in the reoccurring jobs set the number of retries to something greater than 0.
This issue was fixed in BI4.0 SP08, I would suggest opening an incident with support.
    Hope the above helps
    ~Valdrin

why am I getting this error message when I try to open a PDF file?  Adobe Reader could not open 'SBA 413.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

It's difficult for anyone to say how to fix it. Try getting a new copy of it. Did you download it from a web site, as an email attachment, or something else?
I donwloaded that form from the SBA web site and it worked fine for me. It is an XFA form created in LiveCycle Designer, but those should work fine with the desktop versions of Adobe Reader. So try downloading it: http://www.sba.gov/sites/default/files/SBA%20413_0.pdf

  • "could not open socket" error

    Hello:
I am following the book "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 with PHP" by David Powers (an excellent book I might add) and am currently going over chapter 8. (Zending email). I have completed the section concerning processing of a simple user feedback script, and I beleive I have my connector script, and code correct. My testing server is running and correctly defined in DW. When I attempt to submit the form in a browser window, I get the message "could not open socket" at the top of the  browser document window. I assume this involves adjusting a configuration file but I can not figure out where it is. Any help out there?
    My setup:
    Windows 7
    Apache2.2.17
    PHP5.3.4
    ZendFramework-1.11.4-minimal

Boy, this one sure has me stumped.
Despite using the amendment to the catch block that you so graciously suggested, and turning off my firewall, and antivirus software, all I get is the error message "could not open socket" at the top of the browser (various) document window (and a resetting of all fields and textarea):
Here are my files. (I understand I will be changing my passwords, and getting a new recaptcha key, but I am desperate to fix this):
I also amended the mail_connector.php script using the (Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) server306.webhostingpad.com (server requires authentication) port 465) choice below with the same result.
My hosting company provided this to me for manual setting of email:

I am trying to import developed images from LightRoom 5 Photoshop 6 for further editing.  I am receiving this message and the images will not open.....'Could not open scratch file because the file is locked, or you do not have necessary access permissions or another program is using the file.  Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file. How do I fix this?  I would greatly appreciate it if you would respond with terms and procedures that a computer ignorant user, such as me, will understand.   Thanks.

Have you tried restoring the Preferences yet?

  • InfoSpoke fails with message "Could not open file on application server"

    BW Experts,
I created an InfoSpoke that is configured to extract to a flat file. The name of the file is specified using a logical filename. During extraction, the infospoke reports the error message "Could not open file on application server" adnd  marks the extraction process as red(failed). I have tried to run the InfoSpoke in background mode and in dialog mode and the same error appears. After i run in dialog mode, i checked SU53 for authorization errors and did not find any. I also tried changing the Logical filename setup in transaction FILE to a more "friendly" directory in which i'm sure i have authorizations (e.g. my UNIX home directory) and im still getting errors.
Can you please share your thoughts on this? Any help will greatly appreciated. I also promise to award points.

    Hi Nagesh,
    Thanks for helping out.
If i configure the InfoSpoke to download to a file using "File Name" option and also check the "Application server" checkbox, the extract works correctly (extraction to the defualt SAP path and filename=infospoke name). If i configure the InfoSpoke to download to the local workstation, the InfoSpoke also works correctly. It's only when i configure it to download to the application server and use the "Logical filename" option, that i encounter a failed extract.
Here are the messages is the Open Hub Monitor:

Could not open file on application server RSBO 214
Request 147515 was terminated before extraction RSBO 326

If i clink on the error message, no messages nor clues are displayed. Note, this is a new InfoSpoke that is currently in the dev system.
    Please help.
