R12 installation problem on Fedoa 6 with 64 bit amd processor

I installed the R12 (both db tier and application tier) on a linux machine (64 bit machine with Fedora core 6) I could install with out any errors. I was able to open the html login page and login as sysadmin. But now, if I start any forms application, I get an error FRM-92101 on the browser. When I looked at the applications.log file (in ...inst/apps/sfa_localhost/logs/ora/10.1.3/j2ee/forms/forms_default_group_1)
i see this error.
formsweb: Forms session <1> aborted: runtime process failed during startup with errors /home/applsfa/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/bin/frmweb: error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

When I searched I found that libXm.so.2 is there in /usr/lib64 directory, so I went and created a link in /usr/X11R6/lib to this lib in /usr/lib64 directory. Now I get the following error.

Subsequent to your reply, I found that Openmotif is not available in Fedora, so we thought Oracle linux is best in terms of compatibility. But looks like it is not that easy to install EBS R12 on Oracle Linux also. Anyway, we installed EBS R12 on OEL-5 64 bit. Able to run forms after installing openmotif 21. Applied RUP 2. The patch application is failing to link some executables. (specifically FEMCCE, and all the executables in MSC product, MSCCPP. etc...)
Could you give some insights into this ?

Oracle EBS R12 installation problem in Windows 2003

Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle EBS R12 on Windows 2003 R2. I have installed cygwin along with required packages and also Visual studio 2005 as specified in the prerequisites of installation document.
All the validations are successful before installation but I am facing error during installation in Step3 at about 53 percent. When i checked the log file, I found that some of the files required for installation are not found in my staging area. Now I want to run MD5sum on the Staged Files.
I had downloaded md5sum_windows.txt and also run this command :
md5sum --check md5sum_Windows.txt > md5sum_result.txt
In md5sum_result.txt, I am getting error for all files. Error message is as :
oraAppDB\Disk1\data\driver\Disk1.drv
: FAILED open or read
This is repeating for all files. But i can see that the files are present in My Staging area. Do i need to set some permission for this. Please help. Desperately want to install EBS as part of perparation for my planned certification.

I have downloaded all the 33 files in oracle edelivery site. I have seen a post of yours regarding Oracle R12 installation on Windows XP. It mentions only some 25 files. Please do not rely on the that thread as it was for 12.0.x installation.
For R12 (12.1.1) you need to download the following files:
From: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Rapid Install Start Here (Part 1 of 4)
To: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) Rapid Install APPL_TOP - Disk 2 (Part 2 of 2)
Is it possible that contents of the zip file are lost during download because my stage area is about 39 GB . and also I have verfied all the files in edelivery site is downloaded too.
Also the error i mentioned in my last post, I can see the file in the directory but still its showing read error. Is it due to corruption of data. That would mean that I will have to download all 40 GB again :-(It is easy to verify the contents of the stage area directory without running md5sum, so please do so and post the results here.

Installation problem on W2k computers with Pentium 4 CPU

The installation of Discoverer 4.1.37 stops before it is finished and says - Installation successful!
Every unnecessary service is stopped prior to installation,
The almost installed application can't start and generates and application error in Windows when I try.
This event only occurs on computers with an Intel Pentium 4 processors....!
Anyone else? Patch for this? Workaround?

You can look at the intel support site. They have the explanation and the solution for that problem. The problm i's related to a file named sys*.dll. They tel you exactly what file it's the poblem and How you can obtain a new version of that file.

Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user '<Domain\Account Name>'.
To resolve the credentials of a Windows NT domain user account, SQL Server uses the xp_logininfo system stored procedure. Here is a list of the common scenarios where you may notice that the xp_logininfo system stored procedure fails and causes the 8198 error.
When you use an xp_sendmail extended stored procedure.
When you set up replication.
When you run a SQL Server Agent job.
SQL Server may run the xp_logininfo system stored procedure to retrieve information about the Windows domains and the user accounts, even if the user does not do so explicitly. Therefore, if you receive an 8198 error message and the error message mentions the xp_logininfo system stored procedure as the procedure, you must use SQL Profiler to trace and to troubleshoot the exact point of failure.

Oracle application 11.5.10.2 installation problem on xp sp2 with cygwin

lam trying to install ORA APPS on xp but the rapidwiz stopped at step 3 and freezed. rapidwiz didn't give me an error while running but didn't continue to step 5 and below part of my log which shows no error unless the connection failed but it continued and connected by another way

I installed java 1.6 before I installed oracle apps is this correct?Rapid Install installs the Java 2 Standard Edition 1.4.2 automatically for systems running on Solaris, Linux, or Windows operating systems. So, you do not have to install any JDK/J2SE before starting the installation.
Also, make sure you have a valid entry in the hosts file and you can ping the IP address as well as the hostname.

Oracle Installation Problem on MacBook Pro with OS X

Im trying to install Oracle database 10g on my MacBook Pro with the latest OS version. At first I was a bit confused on which of the links I should download, so I downloaded the client release 1, it was a 300mb aprox download. When the download was over I couldnt run any of the files on my Mac, maybe its because they only run on Mac OS Server? maybe i got the wrong link?

Oracle R12 installation problem

we have installed 12.1.3 in windows xp sp2 machine.installation went fine and login
page appeared and everything was fine. when we restart the system the login page
doesn't seem to appear its giving " internal server error"
we reinstalled the application and it installed successfully and login page
and forms appeared .when we restart the system the we are

"forms invalid configuration error" .we tried compiling all forms.But still
we are facing the problem. again we re installed the application and
everything went fine and worked.again when we restarted the system we are
getting " internal server error" in login page.any body know what the root
cause for this issue?

Installation Problem in SAPNW7.0 with Oracle on RHEL5.4

Hi Everyone,
I am installing SAP NETWEAVER7.0 SR3 with ORACLE 10.2.0.4 on RHEL5.4 Operating System. I have installed the java
and i have install the ORACLE 10.2.0.4 Successfully. I set the environment variable in vi .bash_profile and i set the kernal parameters with their values in vi /etc/sysctl.conf file then run the command sysctl -p. Later i run the ./sapinst script the cd /NW7.0/
BS_Installation Master_2005/ IM_LINUX_x86_64. It went fine up to the 24th phase. At the 24th phase "start instance" i got the error.
The error message is
" ERROR 2010-10-10 12:03:03.542
CJS-20022 Could not start instance 'DVEBMGS00' of SAP system QAS"
I did try my level best to resolve it. Can any one tell me what could be the issue and how to resolve it.

Adobe CS3 installation problem in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I cannot install Adobe CS3 Production Premium in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (fresh clean install). I have tried everything, including turning off the anti-virus software. It just pops up asking if I want to allow the installer to make changes to Windows, etc and when I click yes it just closes and does nothing... Has anyone been able to get CS3 installed in Windows 7?
The only reason I have a fresh install is because my Ultra CS3 that I had loaded in addition to CS4 package timed out after 30 days and I really need to get access to Ultra CS3 to finish this project. I was planning installing just one app (maybe Photoshop CS3) from the CS3 install so that I can enter my CS3 Production Premium reg info in the system so tat Ultra CS3 will work. I can just start over and do another 30 days with the Ultra in DEMO mode (it does not tell you it's running in demo mode by the way!) and finish this project, but I was looking for a more permanent solution. Once I put CS4 back on, the CS3 package installed over it...
Does anyone knw what to do in this situation? i.e. Could I install it into a Windows XP Pro 32-bit edition and perform and UPGRADE to Windows 7?
Has anyone else ran into this inability to install CS3 in Windows 7? I am running the CS3 install from the Adobe folder on the desktop that it maes when you run the files downloaded from Adobe.com - I get nothing. The task manager shows something open for a split second and then closes right away?! This is very frustrating. I have even run the CS3 clean script just in case. Any help would be appreciated!

i had issues installing cs4 products, my reponse to others with cs4 issues may help you:
i see 216 others have posted questions on this issue on this forum from searching "setup.exe", including myself, so i'm just responding to the recent ones.
i recently downloaded trails of flash cs4 and web premium package cs4 (took a day to download at high speed starbuck's internet). couldnt get the setup.exe to work or the uninstaller to work. surfing tech support over next couple weeks to try various agents was useless and expensive until i finally reached someone with useful info. all the agents had foriegn accents and read from scripts and web support pages until yesterday, when i reached a guy who told me two things i'll report to various forums addressing this same issue:
1. download the "windows install clean up" program from window's website (google: windows install cleanup) to uninstall everything adobe. then go through your folders to erase any adobe remnants. this program is different from the uninstaller that doesnt work in the programs and features area of the control panel when you try to uninstall adobe products from there.
2. windows explorer 8, the newest version, DOES NOT download adobe software properly and leaves things out, causing all sorts of issues including the setup.exe program not working. download firefox browser from mozella (google: firefox) and use it for all adobe downloads. apparently the old windows explorer 7 will work, but if you already have explorer 8 installed its easiest to just use firefox.
i'm spending the next couple days downloading the 4.14 G web premium trail with firefox and will report if this works.

Thank you very much for the quick and direct answer.
The problem was that the user that runs the SQL SERVER service didn't have authorization to retrieve information from active directory.
I've changed the service user, run the sapinst again, and after it succeeded I've returned the previous user.

I recently got a custom build system, this MB, 3400+ FX proc. 2 1GB sticks of Kingston HyperX memory, 2 Maxtor 250GB SATA drives, 2 Maxtor 200GB IDE Drives, 2 Pioneer DVR-A06 DVD-RWs, nVidia GeForce 5950 Ultra... All wrapped up in a Koolance Liquid Cooled case...
When running any 32-bit operating system, everything runs just fine.
When running Windows XP 64, everything runs mostly fine.
When running any 64-bit Linux Distribution, everything goes up in smoke...
(Not literally)
When I try to install any Linux Distribution which has been compiled for 64-bit AMD processors, I get a blue screen, and several substantial errors (too many to write here)
All of it seems tied in with a "RIP Error!"
I am not entirely sure what this problem is, and I would like to check here before I go complaining to 4 different distributions that the screwed up in their compilation. Has anyone else seen this problem? If so, did you manage to fix it or have any idea what is causing it?
I find it a little unusual that any 32-bit Linux distribution runs flawlesly on this system... It is just the 64-bit versions. (And yes, I have validated the checksums in order to ensure that the Discs are not corrupt.)

I am not sure exactly what your problem with Linux -AMD64 OS is. What Linux is it ? To give you a perspective and as a test bed I have a 15GB hd partitioned (with Partition Magic) like this:
1: FS: FAT 32,Partition C: (HDA1) Windows 98 (1st edition) Total MBs=2110.1
2. (Extended) (no Partition) Total MBs=12715.5
3. FS: FAT 32,Partition D: (HDA5) Trial Windows XP AMD64 Total MBs=5412.5
4. FS:Reiserfs, HDA6 Linux SuSE v9.0 for AMD64 Total MBs=6628.4
5. FS: Linux Swap, HDA7 Linux Swap Total MBs=509.9
I like Partition Magic because the LEAST/MINORest HD error it will quit !
But if you dont have it you can still use the archaic Partitioner MS and Linux FDISK.
I preformat the HD in advance and write it down so I dont forget.
Unless you are new to Linux you should know that Linux can read and access FAT 32 Windows Partitions but not vice-versa. Item 2 (above) is automatically setup when you partition any HD with Windows. I am not sure which HDA it is, I dont remember. HDx where x =IDE channel."A" is primary master "B" is slave. My DVD ROM is on secondary master so it is listed as HDC. The number after HDA is logically recognized by Linux. HDA1 is the first Partition on the HD and it is also known to Windows as Partition C: I dont know what happened to HDA3 or HDA4 because they are not listed in Linux's FDISK but I assume they are accounted for.
As usual you always start with a clean virgin HD first then install the lowest/oldest Windows next. The last OS you install is Linux. If for some odd reason you cant boot with Linux after install then you have no other resort than to do the Rescue Floopy routine. Always create one BEFORE you exit install. If Linux "GRUB" or "LILO" fails then run in DOS MS fdisk /mbr. This will restore the original Windows boot. To reboot Linux use the floopy you just created.
All OSs above work ok except the trial version of Windows XP for AMD 64. The problems I have is not installation but with Drivers for sound, RAID and my specific printer. They are not available yet for this platform.

Have problem installing Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition on a SONY VAIO with XP Personal Edition. The "Explore CD" and "Browse Documents" buttons of the Oracle Universal Installer/Autorun responded but the "Install/DeInstall Products" button did not. Oracle 8i DB from the same CD was installed and ran just fine on a Pentium III Toshiba laptop with Win2000 ?! Please help.

How to determine if you have Symmantec Java for JDK 1.2:
1. Select the file "symcjit.dll" and right click on it.
2. Select Properties, then the Version tab.
3. Under Microsoft Windows*, the properties of the DLL are:
"Symantec Java! JustInTime Compiler Version 3.10.107 for
JDK 1.2 Copyright (C)
1996-99 Symantec Corporation Dynamic Link Library file".
DLLs older than this will also not work. "
Likelihood of Occurrence

Possible Symptoms

The failure typically is that the affected application simply
terminates.
Workaround
~~~~~~~~~~
Not only will OUI be affected by this bug, most of the
post-install
configuration tools will also be affected. Running these
tools with "-nojit"
specified will avoid the hang, but it is not simple to specify
"-nojit" for
some of the products.
The following workaround works for the Windows operating
system:
a. Copy only the install directory from the CD to the hard
disk ,say, e:\temp.
b. Open oraparam.ini and make the following modifications
(Assuming CD
drive is f:)
* Change the "SOURCE=" line to use the full path to the CD
instead of a
relative path. (i.e., SOURCE=f:\stage\products.jar)
* Change the "JRE_LOCATION" line to use the full path to the
CD instead of a
relative path. (i.e.,
JRE_LOCATION=f:\stage\Components\oracle\swd\jre\1.1.7\1\DataFiles
\Expanded)
* Change the "OUI_LOCATION" line to use the full path to the
CD instead of a
relative path. (i.e.,
OUI_LOCATION=f:\stage\Components\oracle\swd\oui\1.6.0.9.0\1\DataF
iles\Expanded
* Change the "JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS" line to add "-nojit" as the
first argument.
(i.e., JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms16m -mx32m)

* Other entries should remain the same
c. Launch setup.exe from the temporary location on your hard
drive (i.e.
e:\temp\install\win32\setup.exe). This will use the
modified
oraparam.ini and pick up the information from the CD since
the absolute
locations are specified.
Choose a Custom install and choose not to create a database
during the
install. This way, the Database Configuration Assistant will
not be launched
during installation.
The Net8 Configuration Assistant will still be launched, and
there is no way
to suppress it. You will need to kill the Net8 Configuration
Assistant if it
hangs due to the bug. The installation still will have been
successful, and
you can run the DBCA and NetCA after installation.
To kill NetCA if it hangs during installation:
In the "Configuration Tools" window, highlight the "Net8
Configuration
Assistant" and click "Stop". If that does not work, look for
the most recent
JRE process using the Task Manager, and kill it manually.
NOTE: the OUI
itself will also have a jre process. Be sure to kill the one
with the most
recent date, which should be the jre process being used for
Net8CA, not the
one for OUI itself.
After killing the configuration tools and continuing through
the installation
to the "End of Installation" screen, you should modify the
configuration tools
to use "-nojit", then call the appropriate tools from the
Start Menu.
Once installation is complete, each of the following files in
the ORACLE_HOME
needs to be modified:
assistants\dbca\dbassist.cl
assistants\dbma\dbmig.cl
assistants\ifa\ifa.cl
bin\elogin.cl
bin\owm.cl
ldap\oidamdin\oidadmin.cl
network\tools\netasst.cl
network\tools\netca.cl
owm\install\instelogin.cl
owm\install\instowm.cl
Edit the contents of the above files to add "-nojit" as shown
below:

this is the only thing you need to add --> ^^^^^^
Then, launch the necessary tools, like Net8CA and DBCA from
the Start Menu.

Solution to the installation of Oraclei8.1.7 PE in Windows Millennium
Oracle does not support installing version 8.1.7 PE into
Windows Millennium.
As an unsupported workaround, you may add the following line
to the [compatibility95] section of win.ini prior to
installation:
Jrew=0x00080000
After setup is complete, Oracle will recommend a reboot.
There is one additional step necessary prior to reboot;
Oracle may add a non-standard path statement to the
autoexec.bat file. Please modify this SET PATH
statement to use short-filenames if you find a quoted
LFN string represented as part of the path. You can
confirm that the path was merged successfully into the
registry after reboot by examining the PATH variable
in the registry at
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Environment
Symptoms of a missing Oracle path statement in the registry are that Net8 Easy Config will not launch.
Please note that Oracle does not support the use of this
product in Windows ME, but have authorized these workarounds

Oracle 8i is not certified on windows XP. Even if yes, it must be Windows XP Professional.
You can install Oracle8i on windows XP Home Edition, try like this:
1 - Copy your Oracle CD into hard disk in your
machine. For example Copy from oracle8i CD into C:\Oracle\ ...
2 - Search the two files named Symcjit.dll on the D drive (where you have copied Oracle8i. You can found them in (example):
C:\Oracle\stage\Components\oracle.swd.jre\1.1.7.30\1
\DataFiles\Expanded\jre\win32\bin\symcjit.dll
3 - Rename this file (Example): symcjit_back.dll (make sure to find two files and rename them)
4 - Execute the Oracle setup.exe from C:\Oracle\setup.exe

When Oracle 8i dies on the install or the installer hangs, here is the fix for this, make sure that you have Service Pack 2 installed.
1. \JRE\1.3.1\ From Sun. (You can download java program at http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.1/jre/download-jre-windows.html)
2. Install the java file.
There is also a problem in the installation disk.
3. Make a copy of the Oracle 8i disk on the local hard disk.
4. Do a search for the two files called symcjit.dll and rename them for example: symcjit.old.
5. Install Oracle from the win32 directory.

We are having installation problem with Siebel8.0 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 system.
Using interface, when installation come up to “Installing Wizard” window where Gateway Name Server Configuration window should take place, everything just freeze up

I'm facing the same error message while install Siebel 8.0 on OEL. But before I had this ksh problem, it complains about disc space first, and I actually has plenty of disk space under the directory (it needs only 0.7 G and I have 17G free). Anybody has encountered such problem before?

Problem during installation of EHP4 on IDES with preinstalled EHP3

I have a problem during installation of EHP4 on IDES with preinstalled EHP3(I got it with media sent last year in april).
Namely during PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION! phase i got error:
Severe error(s) occured in phase PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION!
Last error code set: Component 'WEBCUIF' not found
When checking components of ECC system I did not found 'WEBCUIF' component whereas in xml file (generated by SOLMAN) it exists. Which direction I should take. I am afraid to delete entries in xml file.

You need to download and install all requirements as selected by Solution Manager for EHP4, WEBCUIF is a required component. Do not delete any entries in the xml file.
