R12 on Windows XP - Post Installation Issue

Folks,
I installed R12.0.3 on Windows XP machine on a VMware Worksrtation following hsawwan's instructons(thanks to hsawwan and all who contributed to that thread). Post installation checks were all successfully completed.
I logged in the first without rebooting and it gave me an error something like "the page you are trying to reach has been bookmarked...". So I rebooted the machine and now I get this error "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in FNDLIBR.exe[5640]".
Can someone help with this? thanks...

I also see Oracle Fulfillment Server VIS_myapps which is supposed to be automatic is also turned off. Some other Manual services are also turned off. Note: 420573.1 - Session Error Raised Direct After Login when Using Two-Letter Domain Segments

You do not need to start this service; you can even change the startup type to Manual. For other manual services, do not bother yourself about it we do not need to start it up.
Sorry but could you please tell me the path to view Apache log and Event Viewer?Apache log files can be found under $LOG_HOME/ora/10.1.3/Apache directory (search for access_log* and access_log*).
Event Viewer can be accessed from Control Panel > Administrative Tools.

Post installation issues of SAPMEINT

Hi,
We have installed SAPMEINT as per the guide T066_CIG_SAPME_52_FINAL.pdf. We have executed the SAPMEINT standard interfaces and yet to execute the SAPMEINT high performance interfaces.
We are facing the following issues
1) SAPMEINT_SQL jdbc driver in Unknown status.
2) VMJDBC jdbc driver in Unknown status.
3) POst installation of SAPMEINT, SAPMII should have the preconfigured schedulers, Message listeners and data sources with SQL database. Also under role Role_SAPMEINT, navigation should have the configuration as MII Dashboard menu. We are not able to find any of these.
Our installation did not throw any errors or warnings.
Request to send your views on this.

Hi,
For ME system
First you have to install the NW CE and then CE Update Manager followed by JSPM.
Secondly install the WIP and ODS database(Creation of database, listener,tablespace,user, assigning the roles & previliges,)
Thirdly install the SAP ME application and then Update also.
Make the changes required in configtool>Instance>VM parameters JVM settings .Bounce the system for changes.

Deploy of the SAMEINTCTC need to be configured on the system MII and for configurations you can ask ME

12.1.1 Post Installation Issue

As part of 12.1.1 post installation we need to check the patches applied on 10.1.2 home.
When we try checking the same using opatch there is an error as listed below.

OIM Installation - Post Installation Issues

Hi,
I am able to install Oracle Identity Manager (11.1.1.5.0) from OIAM Suite 11g.
The installation is standalone OIM without LDAP sync. After the installation I am able to start the admin server and soa server. But as I start the oim serve, it throws error in deployment of oim application. The stack trace is as follows -

Any resolution on this ? In case the post installation steps are common - why they are not part of the standard installation so that it will not get missed.

OIM generates this key(.xlDataBaseKey) during OIM Installation itself. It seems like for some reason it(.xlDataBaseKey) was nos created <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig/.

[SOLVED] Post-installation issues with XFCE

I just installed Arch Linux on an old eee-1000H laptop with XFCE and Slim as login manager. I have a few post-installlation issues I just can't find out how to fix.
1. I'm using pulseaudio with XFCE and I would like to have a tray icon in the panel to control the volume etc. I know that there is the audio mixer plugin but that doesn't log into pulseaudio. I then installed pasystray-git from AUR and that seems to work fine but I can't get it to autolaunch at login. When I add it to the launcher it seems to start but it isn't showing up in the tray. I have to launch it manually after login then it shows up. What am i doing wrong or is this a bug?
2. I'm using kalu to notifications about updates etc. and it works fine but I can't perform updates from the drop-down menu in kalu I get an error saying:
Parsing /etc/pacman.conf ... ok
Creating kalu_updater... ok
Initializing kalu_updater... failed
Error: Failed to initialize: Authorization from PolicyKit failed
similar issue trying to launch for example gparted:
[af@andre-eee1000h ~]$ gparted_polkit
Error executing command as another user: No authentication agent found.
I have policykit installed and also policykit-gnome as well and it is running
[af@andre-eee1000h ~]$ ps x | grep polkit
2006 pts/0 S+ 0:00 grep polkit
and my user is added to sudo because I can launch gparted with sudo gparted. So what am I missing?

The autostart was a bit difficult in XFCE, I don't know why. maybe try to run it as a shellscript and redirect stderr, stdout and stdin all to /dev/null. I had some problems with strange broken pipes crashing applications under XFCE when run with autostart.

I have just installed Oracle Apps R12.1.1 - fresh install- on windows xp but getting this error when I try to go into forms. I still get the error even after installing a higher version:
1) FRM-92095 :Oracle JInitiator version too low. Please install version 1.1:8.2 or higher
2) Again, I can't log onto Sqlplus due to this error:
Enter user-name: apps/apps
ERROR:
ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
3) I get only dos prompt for sqlplus logon and not the usual sqlplus white background screen.
4) from Programme, Start menu, I can't see the Forms and report developer menus.

“I have run AutoConfig and it took just 1 min to run and shuts down. I installed Jav6 update 31 and now gets a different error while trying to open the form:
Frm-92101: There was a failure in the forms server during startup. This could happen due to invalid configuration . Please look into the web –server log file for details”

Also, please make sure you source the application/database env file before you connect via sqlplus.

Windows 7 SP1 Installation Issues

I am deploying SP1 for Windows 7 via Patch Management and I am running into some issues with the installation. I have the prerequisite installing prior the the service pack and that gets installed properly. The machines are rebooting after a time out period or when the user selects reboot. Upon the reboot, the service pack begins it's installation. The machines restart a couple more times during the installation, which is normal. When the service pack is complete, the computer goes to the login screen as normal and you can login without any issues. When I check to see if SP1 has been installed, it does not show in Properties of the computer and there is an error message in the EventViewer stating that Package KB976932 failed to be changed to the Installed State. Status: 0x80070490. I have my CBS.log file but i'm not sure where to look for information. We have some machines that the upgrade to SP1 is working fine and others that having this issue. Can anyone offer and input or suggestions for me to figure this out. Thanks.

Windows 7 Beta installation issue- Disc not recognized??

Hello everyone, im trying to install windows 7 beta 1 x64 in boot camp.
I downloaded the beta ISO from Microsoft and checked the SHA1 checksums to make sure they're ok.
The disc burned fine in Disk utility
I get this error
"The installer disc could not be found.
Insert your Windows installer disc and wait a few seconds for the disc to be recognized."
Its in the drive :S
Not sure if it matters, Im burning to a DVD+R, brand new. To eject it, it keeps attempting to get read, I had to run drutil tray open. Then it said I had a blank cd inserted, and asked what I wanted to do, I chose eject. The CD is readable on a windows machine fine.
The drive is fine as well, other discs work. I dont get it. The SHA1 checksums were fine, the disc burned fine in disk utility, whats wrong? is it possible that I have to rename the file to the names that Nermal was using? I shouldnt think so...
Anyone have any ideas?

The DVD's are bootable on other windows computers. Not a burning issue.
I can use my Win XP SP2 Home 32bit edition fine.
I was able to boot off my Mac OS X Dvd, so its not a read issue. Its something with the specific file or disc. I have no idea what to try next. Neither the 32bit or 64bit is even read by my computer. The more I think about it the more Im thinking its the disc itself, possibly an issue with the super drive and DVD+R? Or my Fujifilm DVD+R's? The discs sped?(up to 16x) I mean the discs are read by other computers, my computer reads like all other discs fine except this one, ***?

Here's an idea for people wanting to test Windows 7 -
Setup a VM with Sun's VirtualBox. It doesn't have a pre-configured Windows 7 profile so I used Windows 2008 64-bit.
Setup a 40GB dynamic disk, allocate memory, no need to burn DVD, it can install from the ISO.
I'm running this under Vista but should work fine in OS X version of Sun as well. If you want to try running VB with Windows 7 from XP and low on disk space, set aside an external drive with NTFS.

[SOLVED] Post installation issues with KDE 4.7.0

I reinstalled my machine (DELL Studio 540 PC) with Arch Linux 64 bit. I did an install using LVM2 and RAID (have 2 500 GB drives in my machine). Everything went fine with the installation and bootloader (grub2) but I'm having a few issues with KDE and grub2.
1. When booting my machine grub2 gives an error saying "error: fd0 not found" (twice). My machine does not have a floppy drive and has never had one. There is no option in the BIOS to turn floppy off. So why is grub2 complaining about it?
2. With KDE 4.7.0 thumbnails of pdf files are not generated anymore, they were with previous versions of KDE4. Anybody else have that issue with 4.7?
3. I have and Brother DCP-7045n printer in my network and when try to print from a KDE program (Koffice, Kate, Kwrite, Kile etc.), the margins are completely messed up. The print preview on the screens looks right but the actual print everything shift upwards to the right. So things on top of a page are cut off for example. Printing from Gnome/GTK apps (Acrobat Reader, Libreoffice etc.) do not show this behaviour. I 've had this issue with KDE4 since KDE 4.3. Here is the original ustream bug:

Anybody got an idea how to fix this?
4. Skype is crashing on me on startup constantly several times before it finally runs. I've had this problem since the 2.2.x series got released? Anybody got a fix for that. I was hoping a reinstall would fix that problem (same with the printing issue) but no luck.
5. I'm using KDE's microblogging plasma app to check my twitter account but I can't get to remember my password. Everytime I log into I have to manually login to my twitter and kdewallet is running and has my password stored and everything. This one really pusles me.
6. The final issue I having and issue was also the reason why I wanted to reinstall my machine in the first place. I originally used KDEmod as my desktop but they stopped making KDEmod some time ago when they started working on Chakra. So I removed KDEmod and installed KDE from Arch directly. A nice feature of KDE4 is its ability to generate previews on folders containing images and videos. When I switched to KDE that feature stopped working. So I was expecting that with a fresh install that this work and it does except for folders containing jpeg files. If I have a folder containing only jpeg files no previews/thumbnails are generated on the folder but previews the jpeg files themselves are generated. Does anybody else have that problem with jpegs and folder previews?
Hope somebody can help me with these few issues...

Have you installed grub2 with that --no-floppy flag as described in:

Nope. Is it selected in dolphin>settings>general>previews.

Well that won't be a solution, but you might use choqok instead - at least it stores the password.
To answer your first answer, yes I installed grub2 with the --no-floppy option as mentioned in the wiki. Regarding 2 I don't understand why that works for you then? I have all things turned on under previews (folder, video, jpeg etc.) but as mentioned in my first post I have no previews with pdf files and jpegs do generate on folder previews. Finally regarding 5 the microblogging plasma app worked fine on my old installation even after I updated to KDE 4.7.0. The password issue I'm having is on my fresh install.

Some post installation issues of oracle 12c

I just installed oracle 12c today in my windows 7 64bit machine. The installation process is smooth and the oracle database instance is finally installed in my machine. Then I created a database using DBCA. However, when I tried to delete the database, I found the options for configure, delete and manage the database are disabled in DBCA. Moreover, I am also not able to access the database in OEM web console by entering "https://localhost:5500/em/". Please give some advices to help me solve these issues. Thanks a lot in advance.

I've found what actually caused he problem. I was too quick to create the database and didn't finish it actually. So, the database don't exist. I recreated it and works fine. Cheers.

Post installation issues in Oracle 11g

i have installed oracle 11g on my windows vista- ultimate OS. installation was successful without any error, but after the completion of installation i found that sqlplus.exe file's icon was not proper. it is like a default .exe icon of vista. moreover this, when i executed it, i am getting a command prompt window instead of regular SQL window that we get in any previous versions of oracle. Though everything is working fine.
So, could anyone please tell me what's wrong? Why i am getting such an interface?

With 11g, the SLQPlusW is no longer available. SQLPlus in command prompt is what we have left. However you now have SQLDeveloper automatically included.

Windows 8.1 Installation Issue

I am upgrading my Windows 8 to the new 8.1 to my Toshiba Satellite C855.S5115.
Before the installation is complete, I get a message informing I have to uninstall two Apps: The Toshiba Disc Creator and the Microsoft Security Essentials.
At first there was an "uninstall apps" button available and I clicked. Another message shows up: We are uninstalling the apps and will let you know when the process is completed".
However, the first massage asking to uninstall the apps keeping showing up and I cannot finish the installation.
help please.

Try restart your PC and open Control Panel and in Programs and Features, uninstall these apps and then restart your PC and try install Windows 8.1 again.
Note that you have Windows Defender is Windows 8/8.1 which is replacement for Microsoft Security Essentials and Microsoft Security Essentials is
NOT compatible with Windows 8/8.1 .

Which log did you checked, could you find the setup.etl file in %WINDIR%\Panther?
It should have $windows.~bt\Sources\Panther log file. please check it.

If problem persists, I would like to suggest you to make a clean install on other drive for test, to make sure this problem was not caused by hardware problem.
Note: before Windows installation, please backup all files on the drive which Windows 8.1 would be installed. Also make sure the hardware driver such as BIOS, Motherboard was upgrade to be latest.

After restart, any login shows 'Performance Options' dialog - no pagefile.
Administrator a/c may change (Automatic/Managed/Manual) - 'Restart required'
as expected.
GoTo previous paragraph (loop).
