R15-S822 Sound Drivers Help!!!
Hi everyone. Last night I reformatted my wifes laptop using an OEM copy of Windows XP. I've found all the drivers that I need from the toshiba site EXCEPT for the sound drivers. My device Manager is saying my Multimedia Audio Controller needs a driver. The funny thing about this is that on the Toshiba driver download page they only have a device driver made for Windows Vista and not XP. But the laptop came with XP originally. Please help me find this driver and get this woman out of my ear!!!!
Laptop model- R15-S822 Toshiba Satellite
Satellite R15-S822
This one for Tablet Edition should work.
Analog Devices Sound Driver for Windows XP Tablet Edition, 5.12.01.5240U, 06/06/08
It would be best to restore the original contents of the hard disk from Toshiba recovery media.

Upgraded Qosmio X500-10T to Win 8.1: Sound drivers for 5.1 over HDMI
Hello *brilliant* Toshiba community,
I have recently upgraded my Qosmio X500-10T from 64-bit Windows 7 to 64-bit Windows 8.1.
I have left Windows to download driver updates.
My setup: Qosmio (HDMI) => Yamaha AV receiver (HDMI) => Samsun LCD TV.
_The Problem:_ Playing a video file (in MPC-HC) with 5.1 sound only outputs 2 channel PCM.
Would it be better to install the Win 7 drivers from Toshiba even though they are older and for a different OS, or install windows 8.1 drivers from another Qosmio, or leave the Win 8.1 drivers found by Microsoft?
This driver issue is made more problematic as I don't actually know what the technical hardware components are in the machine so its not as though I can find a win 8 driver for them.
As always any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
BuzzHi
From my knowledge the Win 7 drivers are totally different from Win 8.1 drivers and I doubt that Win 7 driver would work properly on Windows 8.1 system. However, you can test such Win 7 drivers too. But of course I would recommend you to use the Win 8.1 drivers released for other notebook series.
As Im not mistaken the Qosmio X500 needs 2 sound drivers: Conexant (chip CX20583-10Z) sound driver as well as the nVidia sound driver (for HDMI) -
Hello,
I have an Hp pavilion dv7-4060us, and my sound drivers haven't been updated since 2010. They are IDT HD audio Codecs, and I went to the IDT site, and couldn't find them. I also emailed the IDT support team, and they said they couldn't help me with it.
Here is my Dxdiag.
Thank you to anyone ahead of time.

I guess not.
I looked at the version of the video driver on your notebook's support page and it looked to be in an earlier sequence of the one I posted.
That is why I thought it would run.
You can try to manually update the driver by clicking on the IDT audio controller in the device manager. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver. Select the Browse my computer for software and browse to the installation folder that was created when you ran the driver package. That would be in C:\SWSetup\sp53628.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way. If not, you will probably have to live with the status quo.

Need sound drivers for a Pavillion dv8309us running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit OS
Need sound drivers for a Pavillion dv8309us running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit OS. I'm getting "no audio output device is installed" error after trying various different drivers. Sometimes the driver will install and I'll reboot, but to no avail I end up with the same error and a red X over the speaker in the system tray. I've tried Realtek drivers and Conexant drivers from HP. When I run Windows upgrade advisor it recognizes the problem, but Microsoft doesn't offer a compatible driver. At this point I'm very desperate considering everything else works fine and I don't want to go back too XP Media Center. If there is anything you can do to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I guess this one isn't even 64 bit but it is the one on HP's site:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-46818-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
I never tried to force a driver but I think it can be done. I seeing that in some threads.

How do i get sound from macbook internal speakers? need sound settings help
hi,
i have installed service pack 3 on bootcamp on new macbook.
i cant get any sound with all my audio applications, even windows media player. i can see the levels and audio files playing within the software (soundforge, wavelab, cubase etc) but cant get any sound to come out the macbook internal speakers........
ive tried all the available audio driver settings from within the apps.
ive checked the sound controls menu from my system tray...all the volume faders are full, unmuted.
theres a realteck or something like that, control panel......i think realtek is the internal sound funtion of my windows xp......
anyone help?
(ive updated bootamp to 2.1 with software updater..... ive intalled the bootcamp drivers from my leopard install dvd....)
shall i put the leopard dvd in again? in case the bootcamp drivers never got installed????
i just used the first leopard dvd.........should we also use the 2nd leopard dvd????? bootcamp manual just says put leopard dvd in and install bootcamp drivers.........but it dont say which leopard dvd.........
cheers
i understand latency is gonna be an issue with internal sound drivers.....any one recommend third party sound drivers for use with internal macbook?
(for proper work im gonna use a proper external soundcard with ASIO drivers, but i wanna get half decent sound and latency from macbook internally for when i wanna use JUST the laptop, with no units connected)dude..... i cant answer that.....cause i dont know....... im pretty sure i didnt do anything.....sound just started working..........
ive done so much over the past few weeks.....its all a blur......
seem to recall changing windows sound settings to NO SOUND to get those irritating beeps to go away..... thats all i can remember......
anyway its working.....mac internal sound is working.....and also i have found a gooooood driver to use.....to lower latency...... its called asio4all...... its the best driver i have used in cubase on bootcamp...... goooooood latency figs...sounds nice too.......
guess what? ive also had my first crash since i bought the mac......on windows xp////sdffdjojfnds

Now, when I try to reboot or shutdown my machine, the system doesn't want to shutdown. The screen will blank, no input will be accepted from the keyboard, and my fan will kick on full blast and stay that way until I force shutdown by holding down the power button. I'm not sure what is causing this, but I'd really like some help in figuring this out.Now once again, booted fine in morning, left machine on all day to charge CMOS battery, at around 7PM last night opened explorer window and window started sticking again when attempting to move window, start menu click would open then immediately close start menu.
I know I have a shot battery (above happens with or without battery installed) and with NEW power supply plugged in. dxdiag.exe reports NO PROBLEMS. Neither does hard drive check or any Toshiba diagnostics...
I am really stumped here...
I bought this R15 in fall of 2005 - could this possibly be a bad CMOS battery? -
I am trying to get sound drivers onto Windows 7 part of my Mac
Ok, so I have my hardrive split up. Half Mac OS X, half Windows 7. The Windows 7 part, doesn't have the drivers I need. I can't use the same scroll techniques as on OS X or anything, but my main problem is the sound drivers. I CAN'T GET SOUND! GRR!!! I had a friend tell me to use the utility disk that came with my Mac while I'm on Windows and that should give me all the drivers I need. But I don't even know what the utility disk is or what it looks like! I NEED HELP!!!!! :'(
If you used Boot Camp Assistant to partition the drive and install Windows you should visit the Boot Camp forum. Driver installation questions and answers are posted regularly.
https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp
If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk. If you are running Lion, you download the drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant.
Read the Boot Camp Install and Help guides. http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
If you did not use Boot Camp Assistant I can't help you. Someone else will be along. -
my tablet pen is not working. when i tried to find the driver it gives me option to open the file with "dat".
ca anyone help me to fix this problem.Satellite R15-S822
You might want to try the driver from Wacom.

Sound drivers disappear at reboot
Sorry if this was already answered, or if it's a really simple fix but I've done my research and havent found anything (sorry if I just missed it).
So, several weeks back, suddenly, the sound on my arch linux laptop stopped working. I was too busy to work on it at the time, but recently I had time so I got working on it.
I found the problem right away: I had no sound drivers. So I issued:
[root@myhost ~]# pacman -S kernel26
This fixed the issue, as I issued a 'modprobe -l | grep snd' and found the drivers. Then I reboot.
After I reboot, the drivers are gone. I reinstalled the kernel again, rebooted, same deal. Each time I reboot, I get:
[root@myhost ~]# modprobe -l | grep snd
[root@myhost ~]#
and again it's fixed by reinstalling the kernel.
Any ideas? I'm not sure if this helps, but here are a few more notes:
1. Sound kinda still works. Meaning, I can start oss and get sound coming out, but within KDE, my original sound cards are not recognized. Also, ALSA cannot start because:
[hunter@myhost ~]$ sudo /etc/rc.d/alsa start
Password:
:: Restoring ALSA Levels [BUSY] /usr/sbin/alsactl: load_state:1625: No soundcards found...
[FAIL]
[hunter@myhost ~]$
2. At the same time I noticed this, the play, mute, volup, and voldown buttons built into my laptop (not keyboard shortcuts, separate buttons on the HP laptop) also stopped working. So, for example, if I play an mp3 it plays out the speaker, but the volume buttons dont work. It only works if I start ossxmix and change the settings there.
Anyways, sorry if its a stupid question, but I'm not sure what to do. I'm a linux sysadmin, and I've got a lot of experience with RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu/Debian and SUSE, but not much with Arch so this could just be me being stupid. But any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

How to add the sound drivers on your dual booted windows partition
As of today I succesfully added a windows partition to my MacBook (with the help of a friend) unfortunately I encountered a problem.
I have no sound.
My friend said that I needed to add sound drivers in. But he didn't know how to do that.
If anyone can give me some help here I'd appreciate it A LOT

Full installation instructions for Windows, including how to load the drivers are found here:
