R2 CU2 Software/Hardware Inventory updates taking very long to show up in the console after CU2 update

I have recently updated my ConfigMgr 2012 R2 infrastructure from CU1 to CU2 prior to a large migration from 2007 R3. I ran a bunch of tests prior to the migration with the CU1 update and didn't notice any major issues with clients reporting in initially.
I am noticing with CU2 that the initial hardware and software inventory coming from the clients is significantly delayed.  I am seeing processing take 2-3 days to show up and register in the admin console.  I have a colleague at a consulting company
that is noticing the same thing after applying CU2.  I depend on some file information and OS inventory (x86-based PC/x64-based PC) information that is gathered for collections and this post-CU2 delay is causing some frustration.
I am migrating my 2007 R3 clients via WSUS/SUP migration via site level group policy and all of them are getting the RTM 5.00.7958.1000 client with no issues at all and I am trying to ensure they get the CU2 client 5.00.7958.1303 update afterwards via the
join to the collection based on hardware/software inventory but again, this delay is obscene.
I am running one primary parent server and a bunch of secondary servers in local offices, all running on Windows 2012 R2, SQL Standard 2012 SP1 CU8 (primary parent server) and SQL Express 2012 SP1 CU8 (secondary site servers).
What is interesting is that the workstations and servers are getting the appropriate policies (client and Endpoint) from the ConfigMgr infrastructure and the UI on the workstations/servers reflects this but the Admin Console is not reflecting these
updates/changes as they get applied, the delay mentioned above.
Has anyone noticed the same thing with CU2?  If so, any suggestions?  Any help would be appreciated.

I see it successfully process in a normal amount of time in InventoryAgent.log.  It is taking it's time from the MP to the primary.  Right now, I have 1712 machines migrated and only 91 of them have processed hardware/software inventory and is
reflecting in the admin console on the primary site server since I started migrating Monday evening. Something is up or has changed with CU2. I never saw this much of a delay with CU1.

  • My 2011 Imac 27" has been crashing and running very erratically and slowly. The only change has been the update to 10.8.1, I will paste the consol kernal panic report.  Is there a software conflict?

Hi, first time posting on the forum. I own a 2011 IMAC i5 with 12gb of ram 27 inch. Over the last five days the computer has been crashing and running very erratically. When the computer has crashed the entire computer has become unresponsive and frozen, requiring a reboot or two. At other times the computer has slowed way down and the dreaded spinning beachball has appeared and the computer takes its sweet time trying to process something. Iphoto has also crashed independently when the beahball will not disappear. THE entire system is running way below its usual stellar quad performance. I have run a ram test and everything has come back clean, I have fixed any broken permissions, and deleted any newly added software (starcraft2). There is over 250Gb of hard drive free and the activity monitor shows no unusual processes. The computer automatically updated it self recently to 10.8.1 has this caused a conflict with some software? Or is there a deeper problem?
Below are the console reports. There are also reports for unversalaccessd  ,  mdworker, Isregister, loginwindow, iphoto, DMproxy which can be supplied.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Intermittently nursery GC is taking very long pause time

    Hi,
I have jboss application server running with JRockit R27.6.5 on RedHat Linux. I see that the nursery GC is taking very long time. Some times it takes more than 10 seconds. This causes TLA-fetch error for all the threads.
    High nursery time -
    [memory ][Sun Jul 10 23:10:18 2011][05730] 23340.903: parallel nursery GC 3270701K->3100453K (6144000K), 2740.705 ms
    Usual nursery time -
    [memory ][Sun Jul 10 23:27:23 2011][05730] 24368.799: parallel nursery GC 4361524K->4191033K (6144000K), 63.751 ms
This behavior is puzzling because it was working fine till last week. We have two applications running on this server which are totally different in nature but we see the same behaviour wrt nursery GC. This high nursery GC is happening even when there is absolutely no load on the server. It is happening every 10 minutes or so.
Infact we thought that this is something to do with hardware and we replaced it with new but we see the same behavior on the new hardware.
We have given 6GB RAM to one server and 3.5GB RAM to another server. The machine is 24 cpu.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
I would expect fragmentation of memory would happen over a period of time. I am also facing this problem on other servers with large heap.
But this is different. Below are JVM settings for two servers running on the same machine.
    JAVA_OPTION="-Xms${6000}m -Xmx${6000}m -Xgc:gencon -Xverbosetimestamp -Xverbose:memory,cpuinfo,opt -Xgcpause -Xgcreport -Xmanagement:ssl=false,authenticate=false -Djrockit.managementserver.port=7090"
    JAVA_OPTION="-Xms${3500}m -Xmx${3500}m -Xgc:gencon -Xverbosetimestamp -Xverbose:memory,cpuinfo,opt -Xgcpause -Xgcreport
The nursery pause time is high right after the server restart. Most of the time its fine but intermittently there is a spike. Sometimes spike goes all the way upto 10 seconds.

  • HT2404 why is os X update taking so long I tried to download it and would not finish.

why is os X update taking so long I tried to download it and would not finish downloading..

It's been a few days since the original post.  If you use Software Update again now, do you still have this problem?
Also, what is the name and version number of the update?  If you can't get Software Update to do it for some reason, you can search for that update on Apple Support, then download and install it manually.
Before you do that, run Disk Utility (which is on Applications/Utilities).  Select "Macintosh HD" in the sidebar and go to the First Aid tab.  Click Verify Disk.  This will check to make sure there is nothing is wrong with your startup disk.  If there is a problem reported, that may be causing the problem with Software Update.

The data is very huge and the member count in each dimension is also huge, so which is making me difficult to export the data.
    Any suggestions??
    Thanks

Here is a link that addresses several ways to optimize your report script. I utilize report scripts for Level 0 exports in an ASO environment as well, however the majority of our dimemsions are attribute dimensions.
These are the most effective solutions we have implemented to improve our exports via report scripts:
    1. Make sure your report script is written in the order of how the Report Extractor retrieves data.
    2. Supressing Zero and Missing Data
    3. We use the LINK command within reports for some dimensions that are really big and pull at Level 0
    4. Using Symmetric reports.
    5. Breakout the exports in multiple reports.
However, you may also consider some additional solutions outlined in this link:
    1. The MDX optimizing commands
    2. Back end system settings
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/esb_dbag/drpoptim.htm
I hope this helps. Maybe posting your report script would also help users to provide feedback.
    Thanks

  • SM59 - Remote Logon taking very long time - RFC is receiver

    Hi Friends,
We have ABAP connection (SM59) to R/3 system from PI system.  The connection test is fine. But, when we click the Remote Logon from SM59, it is taking very long time. It is unable to login.
Due to this, messages are in scheduled state in the receiver CC monitoring. (SOAP to RFC - Async ). Receiver RFC CC also are green.
We checked with R/3 team, the remote user which is used in SM59 is not locked in R/3 system and password also not changed.
Friends, kindly clarify why it is taking very long time from PI in SM59 when the connection is fine.
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    Hi Sabarish,
I checked in SM58. There are no entries.  SM59 is for other interfaces (IDoc).  In the Message Monitoring all messages showing 'To be Delivered' and 'Delivering' from yesterday onwards. In the CC monitoring, it shows 'Message Processing Started' from yesterday onwards. But not completed.
I checked in SM21 take log of type 'RD'.  I doubt is this the correct log for this problem.

  • Drop em repository is taking very long in 11.1.0.7

i am configuring oracle enterprise manager in 11.1.0.7
i did try to create repository and got some errors.
now i am dropping repository and it is taking very long.
please tell me how to speed up this drop repository process .

    Hi,
    Please provide the output of:
    tail -50 /opt/oracle/db/tech_st/11.1.0/cfgtoollogs/emca/TEST1/emca_repos_drop_2013_07_28_15_35_01.log
If you wish to configure EM, it is mandatory you create a password file. Type "orapwd" to get the complete syntax:
    Typically you create like:
    orapwd file=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapw$ORACLE_SID password=secret entries=5
If you have created the password file successfully then the following query should give you and output:
    select  * from v$pwfile_users;
After that please try re-creating the EM.
    Hope this helps!

  • Explain plan generating it self taking very long time !!! What to do ?

    Hi,
I am trying to generate explain plan for a query which is running more than 2 hours. I am trying to generate explain plan for query by "explin plan for select ..." but it self is taking very long time.
Kindly suggest me how to reduce time for explain plan ? Secondly why explain plan itself taking very long time ?
    thanks & regards
    PKP

Just guessing here, but I've experienced this behaviour when I did two explain's within a second. This is because a plan is identified by a statement_id or, if you don't provide a statement_id, by the timestamp (of DATE datatype). So if you execute two explain plans within the second (using a script), it has two sets of data with the same primary key. The hierarchical query that needs to be executed to provide you the nicely indented text, will exponentially expand in this case.
Maybe time to clean up your plan_table ?
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Rob.

Seriously, the server loads will likely taper off by the weekend, if you want to wait.

  • Broadcasting jobs taking very long timel

    Hi Gurus,
We are using broadcasting funcitonality in our project , we use to have daily boradcasting jobs which will distribute the workbooks on daily basis.
Recently we observed that few jobs are taking very long time i.e
1.Say Job X have 10 receipents, as you know , for each receipent one additional job will create and will distribute as per the settings..in this sequence its taking very long time create that addional job, even its happening for single receipent jobs also...
If we would the check the daily logs, same job which use to complete 200 to 300 seconds, will take around 6000 to 8000 seconds....and will show the job log as waiting for job XXXXXX checking status in again 10secs..and job will show yellow status for long time.....
When ever we get this kind of issues, we use to kill the job and will ask the user to reschedule, but these days, users started asking for the reason , y same job is taking long time some times and same will comepltes in normal times in other days....
your quick help is more appriciated...
    Regards,
    UGiri

    hi,
a reason could be because in the same time of your jobs, there are many other treatments (job or not) which slow down your process, due to a lot of activities.
Another reason could be that you have not enough work process (job runs in background).
Note: in ECC system, during the day, we mainly have dialog processes to allow employees to work (in foreground)...., and during the night (for instance), we inverse the proportion of Dialog process / work process, to allow to have a high night job activity (so in background). See with your basis.
these two points are often the reason why sometimes a job is fast and why the same job is slow another time in the day.
    regards
