Hi Everyone,
I upgraded Windows to Vista ultimate 64 bit. and now sound is not working. I have upgrade the BIOS. I have installed RealTek Audio drivers couple of time. Nothing seems to be working. I can see sound bars are moving in system tray or if I go to control pannel but sound does come out of speakers. I have tried headphone too. but no luck
in device manager, there are 3 devices without driver.
1. Biometrics
2. Mass Storage controller
3. unknown
I have tried everything but nothing seems to be working. Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Not surprising. The device driver is apparently different and was never written. This one is for 32-bit Vista.

  • Help needed upgrading from Vista to XP for Conexant Sound Driver

I upgraded from Vista to XP and got everything else working except for the sound. I have scoured the interenet and tried many versions of drivers from Vista ones to XP ones with no success. Even though the drivers seem to update correctly when installed, after a reboot there is no sound device loaded in the control panel for sound. I have a P105-6197 model laptop. Does anyone have any process to make this work that is proven? Thanks

  • Upgraded to Vista Service Pack 2 on my Satellite L305-S5955...now there's no sound!

Last night I upgraded to Vista Service Pack 2 and today it says I don't have a soundcard.  Out of all of computers, this is my only Vista, so I'm having trouble fixing this problem.
I tried to upgrade the drivers from the Toshiba website, but it's not a driver issue; there is no card being recognized.
So, I used the "Add New Hardware" wizard to re-add the soundcard.  Doesn't work.
I see lots of people having trouble with this.  And also, when the sound was working, it was really quiet.  I'd have to turn off the dishwasher, heat, laundry machines, etc to hear anything!
Hope someone can help me on this.
    -Gregg

  • After upgrading from Vista 64 64 bit to Window7 64bit the DVD stopped working

After upgrading from Vista 64 64 bit to Window7 64bit the DVD at first worked just fine but after about 7 months it just stopped responding as if the hardware as in the DVD Dive it compatible with Windows 7. I have reinstalled the full Windows 7 that I got from HP but it still has the same problem and when I try a full recovery it  will start to read the recovery DVD but it take way to long like 15 mins just to start reading and it stops reading with error's after about 2 min's into it.
Were is the errors that I get
This PC in not supported by the system recovery disc. you will not be able to continue to recover this system with these disks.
keep in mind that the problem lies with the DVD drive not working and like stated above it will work if Windows Vista 64 is installed so this error message is not the key to the problem just part of it.

Fixed the mic issue by running Windows Update and installing the latest audio drivers.

After several attemps to get a solution from Toshiba I found it out myself.
Here are the steps to solve this problem:
    1. update Bios to 3.5 version
    2. Do a clean Vista installation
    3. Install the Value added Package
    4. Install the audio driver
    5. Install the fix "mute off"
    Should work now.

  • Since I upgraded Windows Vista to Windows 7 iTunes only works in Windows 7 "Safe Mode".

Since I upgraded Windows Vista to Windows 7 iTunes only works in Windows 7 "Safe Mode". it will not run in the normal mode. (It ran properly in Vista)  I spent several hours with the Microsoft Technician going through the "1717 suggestions, but to no avail.  On my own, I tried iTunes in Windows 7 "Safe Mode" and was successful!  It ran like a charm.  Unfortunately, I can't run iTunes properly in "Safe Mode"  I have not tried moving one set of the files yet.  But if iTunes works in Safe Mode, do I need to relocate anything or do I need to find what is causing the conflict between Windows 7 and iTunes?

    Which Satellite A205?
Which Windows 7 (64-bit)? What about the other laptop?
Which printer model, version, and so forth?

  • Upgrade from vista to windows 7 home premium

I want to upgrade from vista to windows home premium but I'm told I need to find out if my computer can actually support windows 7. Can someone tell me how do I find out if my computer is able to be upgraded to windows 7? I have an hp pavilion with a 32 bit operating system, the model number is a6207c. Thank you

Ok, I tried this and it said I needed to download and install Nvidia graphics driver version 309.08, I downloaded and installed this version just fine. I done option 2 again and now it says download and install version 353.30. I download this version but got an error when I tried to install it that says THIS GRAPHICS DRIVER COULD NOT FIND COMPATIBLE GRAPHICS HARDWARE. Do you know what I should do now to fix this?

  • Upgrading Win7 32-bit to Win7 64-bit

I really don't know if this is the correct category since I'm new here. Anyways
I plan on upgrading my 32-bit Win7 to a 64-bit version. Yes my system is capable of installing it. But i have read around that if you upgrade 32 to 64 you could choose the upgrade option of the installation, but i read that option and it said back up your
    files just in case.
    So my questions are:
    1) If i backuped my files with the windows back up files thing, would upgrading the os wipe out the back up?
    2) If it will wipe out the hard drive how would i back up my files on a 2nd HDD? I have an All-in-1 PC. So that's kind of an issue. HP Touchsmart IQ500
    3) If there is an online back up solution, what are some good trust worthy ones or maybe other methods?
This computer is used for home use. Not a business computer with possible confidential information.
Also this computer used to be Windows Vista, but then the computer got a virus (hooray for Norton) and the fixer guy put on Windows 32-bit ultimate. And eventually the computer said the copy of windows used was a torrented version. So it's not genuine. Would
that also cause problems if i went from Win7 Ultimate 32-bit to Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit?
    Thanks in advance!

First, you can't upgrade Windows 32-bit to 64-bit. This is not supported. You need to perform clean install only. Therefore, you need to backup your files before proceeding.
Second, you need to purchase a new license of Windows as the existing is not genuine. Or if you choose to install Windows Vista (that came with your PC), you can use recovery/reinstallation media provided by HP, which doesn't involve purchase of a separate
license. If not, you can contact HP support and request for an installation media. They may charge you based on their service policy.
Regarding backup, it's a best practise to backup to an external storage device for protection. About online backup, the performance may vary based on the size of the data as well as the internet speed. Local backup is more fast than online backup. There
are a variety of service providers that provide online backup. As they are third party companies, we can't comment on them.

  • Upgraded from Vista ultimate to Win. 7. Don't know how to install the tv tuner

I upgraded from Vista ultimate to Win. 7. When I tried to install the TV tuner, nothing seemed to happen.

Save the TV Tuner driver to the desk top and use 7zip to extract the files. There may be a folder there named SRC. Open that and look for the Windows install icon.
If you give me your full model number and the version of W7 (32 or 64 bit) you are running I can help you further with this manual installation procedure.

  • Windows 7 Upgrade Try 64 Bit

After Upgrade from Vista Home 32 Bit to Windows 7 Home 64 Bit for a trial with my Software:
Will it be possible to downgrade to Windows 7 32 Bit or to instal it with that Upgrade-DVDs?
Or will I have to recover to Vista 32 Bit and Upgrade to Win 7 32 Bit?
    Thank You for advices

    Hi
To be honest I dont know what you mean exactly.
You can only upgrade Vista 32bit to Windows 7 32bit. An upgrade from 32bit to 64bit OS is not possible!! Therefore you have to make a new and clean installation.
If you want Vista back, you have to use Toshiba recovery disk or Microsoft Vista disk.
