R3 report in BW side. Is it possible?

Hello all!
I've been asked to analye if it's possible to have in bw, the result of a R3 report. I explain the context:
I was asked to make a report in BW with some hard calculations and lots of detail information. We saw that it were out of scope for bw and finally client team decided to make a Z report in R3 side. Now the report is done in R3 but as it has many possibilities of layout and R3 is very "static" when showing results, we want to take advantage of bw and show this report in bw side.
First question, is it possible? I mean, is possible to load in bw a result of a R3 report? How it would be?

Oscar, your solution sound good. I'm not very used to R3 but I'm going to contact r3 team to see how they can save the report in a table.
Ramkumar, I've never used RRI. I've read some information about it but everything I've read is related to have a bex query as a sender and a R3 transaction or report as a receiver. I don't know if it is possible to have what I need: an R3 report as a sender and a bw query as a receiver.
Any idea?

We want to generate and save report directly to a location on client machine.
But when we try to do that report is saved in server and not on client machine.

We are aware of this method, but this is causing following problems to us -
1. Report name concurrency, we will have to change existing coding to a large extent to make sure same report when generated by different users should have seperate names so that there is no conflict.
2. To transfer to client machine there can be access right issues, though we have not tested this aspect.
So was thinking if there is any other way through wich we can directly save the report on client side rather than transfering file between AS and client?

Yes my output is HTML but i have to print only some part of the html page and also the the HTML page shows only one page of the report at a time but i wants to print all pages in a single click action

Joining 2 reports at answers level, is it possible?

I'd like to know whether it's possible to use 2 separate reports as physical data sets to create a new report by joining them?
I have report A and Report B, they both have different structure and filters.. I'd like to create a new report using report A.column A = report B.column A.

Nope. Can't do. If the column types are the same types (by this I mean, column 1 of Report A is the same type as column 1 of Report B, etc.) then you can use UNION to join them, but since you said the queries are of different structures, than no. Now it is possible to create dummy columns to force the datatypes to match, but that is something you need to determine if it's feasible.
The best answer would be to move all the columns into the same Subject Area in the repository.

Reporting Services UserToken SID's error

Hi All
I know there is loads on the web about this but none of it is fixing the issue.
We have SCCM 2012 R2 (Not been upgraded from 2012) and SQL Server 2008 R2.
All was working fine till a couple of days again when some uses started getting the UserToken SID's error. Have tried everything but cannot get it working. Check AD membership for the reporting service account, removed and re-added user to refresh permissions
but still the same error.

If you login with a SCCM Administrator account, can you run the reports?
Please check the permission for these users failed to run the reports from Report Manager URL.

Calling Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery possible?

is it possible to call the Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery? If yes, can someone post me a small example?
Background:
My plan is to create a html with a form which is also uploaded then into the reportserver. I open this html later by clicking a link in a report (with gotoURL open.window). The report opens the html inclusive the overtaken of some additional parameters
(reportname, reportdescription). These parameters I will use in the html-form as defaultvalues for the corresponding input-text-fields. Now the user can make some changes (i.e. the decription). With a click on a button I will send the new description to
the Reporting Services Web Service by using the SetProperties method, closing the html-window and reload the report. Important is that I want to upload the html also into the reportserver itself.
I have already found how to consume a web service via jQuery but with the Reporting Services Web Service I did not get it running in my tests.

Reporting Services Client-Side Printing

All my BI users should be able to print SSRS directly from their Local PC. Right now they do not have administrative rights on their PCs. How do I install the print- client SSRS files on the client machines. Also, what and where are the
files I need to install in order to enable client-side printing. I am using SSRS 2012 SharePoint integrated mode.

The same concept applies no matter which version of SSRS you are dealing with. You just need to find the CAB file. For SSRS 2008 R2 it is in:

Reporting the cost side of an AP transaction

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could share their best practice for marrying AP, FI, and CO data. For instance, I have data from a FI_AP_4 extractor, a FI_GL_4 extractor, and a CO_OM_WBS_6 extractor. But there doesn't seem to be a common link between the data. Is there another extractor out there that is used to produce AP reports (both the credit and debit side of the transaction)? The bottom line is that I need to provide AP reporting in BW. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I recently implemented both FI_AP_4 and FI_GL_4. FI_GL_4 can be modified to basically bring over what you see in BSEG. I brought over evrything I could think of and things we will use in the future. FI_AP_4 I couldn't modify as easily. What I ended up doing is writing update rules to go to the FI_GL_4 and isert the mising links into my AP ODS. Now I can link then together. Establish your link
bewteen the three and have update rules put that link in your ODS or Cube.
You can then use a multi provider to get the reports. It probably will be the FI document and the CO document. Another option might be to have a centralized ODS or cube that has the documents linked which could then be used in your MP.

EWA Report for DEV/QAS System (if possible)

Hi Experts,
I would like to know if it is possible to generate EWA reports for DEV/QAS Systems. I believe i have set up all the necessary RFCs for our SOLMAN to communicate with the DEV/QAS systems.
When I try to create an EWA session in SDCCN of the DEV/QAS system, the only destination i can choose is "NONE" which is local.
Any idea how I can send this to my SOLMAN. My SOLMAN is already configured to be the master system of my DEV/QAS system.
Any help would be appreciated.

My problem actually is that I want to set up EWA for a DEV system. I have tested all the RFC connections to and from my SOLMAN.
Even the RFC connection in SDCCN -> Settings .. -> RFC destination, i have 2, one SAP_OSS and my 'back' RFC to my SOLMAN and everything is working OK.
Would you be able to give me a step by step guide on how to setup EWA. From what i know:
1. Setup the system via SMSY (done)
2. Generate the necessary RFCs (done and tested OK)
3. Set SOLMAN as the master system of the satellite systems (done)
4. Create the necessary task for EWA via SDCCN of satellite system
Are the steps correct?

ODS Bex Reporting Off and SID Question??

We were looking at the Specific question below:----
We have switched off the BEx reporting functionality on an ODS and are using an Infoset to query against the ODS, so there is only 1 table in this Infoset.
Question:----
Does the Query written on this Infoset need to go through a SID table fo eg: It spends a lot of time in Serial Nbr SID table (/BIC/SZSERNR) which is an Infobject used in the ODS.
I tried a few things as explained below:----
I actually created a few New Infobjects based on the Infobjects from the Original ODS. We created a new ODS similar to the original ODS by replacing some of the Old Infobjects with the New Infobjects. I switched Off the Bex Reporting option for this ODS. It did not inserts any SIDs while loading the Data into this New ODS...However while executing the Query on an Infoset built on this New ODS, it updated the SID table for the New Infobjects.
I was wondering when the option of Switching Off BEx Reporting is to facilitate faster Loading of Data, why does the query need to insert the SIDs during the Query execution as that increases the Response time on the Query. These New Infobjects are not used in any Infocubes so is there a necessity to maintain the SIDs as we are trying to Query on an Infoset.
Please provide your valuable opinions..

I'm not sure, but this could be a track.
The ODS or Infoset are checked to update the BW Statistics? Maybe a update is taken if BW Statistics are tracking the query execution on these dataproviders.

Any Mozilla product I install crashes at startup. The first window I see when I open a Mozilla product is the crash reporter. I have tried every possible solution but cannot open anything. It started with firefox. Can anyone please help?

Hi there, as the question says, I cannot open any Mozilla product. I have tried to install firefox 3.6, older versions of Firefox, Firefox 4.0, Sea Monkey, Thunder Bird and Sun Bird. I have the same problem everytime. I open any of these programs and the first and the only window that appears is the crash reporter. I've tried opening it in Safe Mode and the same occurs. I have tried entirely uninstalling the products incuding the registry keys but no help. I shall post the detailed error reports, if they help solving this issue. Can you kindly look into this and find a solution as I use all of these Mozilla products and my life has been a hell since they've ben down.

Same problem over here as well, FF 7 is ok but FF8 / FF9 and Thunderbird 8 / 9 crash on startup.
They both work if I start them in safe mode with everything enabled.

I plan to upgrade the SSRS 2005 SP2 enterprise edition in our internal web server to 2005 SP4, the Reporting server database is hosted in another sql server in sql server 2005 SP4. Do I need to do anything on the reporting server database side?

My question is what the steps do I need to take to upgrade SSRS from 2005 SP2 to SP4. The web server that host the SSRS is in 2005 SP2, and the OS is in window 2003.
Our SSRS report server and report server database are in different servers. The SSRS in the web server is in 2005 SP2 enterprise edition, the report server database is in sql server 2005 SP4 enterprise edition.
To upgrade the SSRS in web server from 2005 sp2 to sp4, do I need to backup/restore the encryption key? Nothing will be changed in the report server database. We will still pointing to the same database in the current server, all

According to your description, you want to install the Services Pack 4 for SQL Server. Right?
In SQL Server, Services Packs are used for fixing issues of current version product. It's not an Upgrade, you don't have to backup/restore your encryption key. You just need to download the Service Pack 4 on:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4 RTM . Please make sure you have administrative rights on the computer to install SQL Server 2005 SP4. For more information, see links below:

Entering textual data in Hyperion Financial Reports on client side

Our comapny is using Financial Reporting studio tool for reports. Reports are made by the Hyperion administrator and users only can view/read reports through Workspace service. Currently we need that users can put some text into the reports themselves. Can anyone advice some idea on this issue? The version of products we use is 9.3.1

I think this is impossible because of the nature of reporting. When create a financial report grid it prompts you for a login to connect to an essbase/planning app. the majority of the time you are going to enter the credentials of an administrator or a designated dummy report user that has access to query all data.
When a user runs the report, it is this data connection user's rights that will obtain the data. Reporting will not know the security of the planning users based on dimension security roles.
