i think no need oss note
go to rsa1->transport connection->there is button 'object changeability'
here you can switch between changeable or not

UPGRADE - OSS NOTE MODIFIED PROGRAMS

Hi all,
we are on verge of upgradtion form 4.6c to ECC 6.00
we have a lot of programs where we have applied oss notes.
Do i need to apply the oss notes in the new version ECC 6.00 too.
How can i know whether SAP has provided the same note modifications in new version i.e ECC 6.00
IN THAT CASE I DON'T HAVE TO APPLY OSS NOTE AGAIN.
Where does SPAU AND SPDD COME IN TO PICTURE

hi Swathi,
A typical SAP version version upgrade has two phases:
1 - technical upgrade (installing the new version of SAP and migrating all the current objects to the new system)
2- adjusting the modifications.
SPAU/SPDD comes in the second phase.
Once we install the new version and migrate all the active objects into the new version, you can see the list of modified objects (including OSS note applications) in SPAU and SPDD.
SPDD contains all the data dictionary objects and SPAU the rest.
You need to drill down from SPAU and do a versin comparison with the active version in the existing system (the system with SAP's older version). If you come across changes with OSS notes,
firstly, you need to check in <b>service.sap.com/notes</b> the releases it supports. If it does not support the latest version, you will need to find a replacement note for this and implement the same. Else, if it is supported in the new release, you need to carry forward the changes in previous version to the new version. For this you need only to right click on the object in SPAU and select "adopt changes".

Hi BW Experts,
I´m facing a Problem while releasing a Transport from Dev to Quality System. The consisty check shows the following objekt as not available:
Object directory entry R3TR EVEN EVEN_BEY5RHD67LRF9UT6G9LXEZUK6 does not exist
A check for the Object: R3TR EVEN showed that it is a Event Collector which seems to be missing. The transport consists a process chain which listens to an event. Is this the mentioned Object or is it related to some different topic? The process chain is correct and activated.

Hi Abdullah,
I followed your advice and did a check if the object was writen to my transport. The object was missing on the transport. But also searching in transport connection did not help.
So I had a look into the table TADIR and also here I could not find the mentioned object which was realy strange to me, as the process chain was active and correct.
I than deleted the event collector(AND) object in the process chain and created a new one. A check in the table TADIR now showed the before invisible EVEN_BEY5RHD67LRF9UT6G9LXEZUK6 and also the new one created. The new EVEN Object(and also the old deleted one) was written to the transport. Importing it into Quality System worked without any problems.
I´m not 100% sure about this behaviour but maybe its linked to the fact that the process chain was a result from the Dataflow migration wizzard. Maybe while migrating that dataflow something went wrong.
Anyway, thanks to all of you for your help!

Objects locked in different tasks while implementing the oss note

I am facing a problem while implementing the oss note and it shows the message that the objects are locked at different tasks.
Can anybody give the solution.

Hi Suresh,
Locked in different tasks means there were some repairs carried out for the objects and the transport request is not yet released. Some possible solutions are
1. Ask the owner of the original transport to release the transport. The the object will be unlockedand you can make modifications to it.
2. Ask the user of the above said task to add another task for you in the transport request.
3. See if you can delete the object from that transport and include all the changes in a separate transport of your own and transport. (Please check if any dependencies are there with the other objects in the transport).

How to find object list for each OSS Note

Dear all,
I would like to know whether there is any ways to search for affected objects in each OSS Notes without manually open each note and see in correction instructions.

Maybe you can use SE03 function "merge object lists" for this purpose. You can enter the 300 numbers and merge all objects e.g. into a transport of copies, that you can delete again after your exercise. Don't lock the objects inside this temporary request.
The benefit is that each object will only appear once (if not, choose "object list -> aggregate" in the request details), and you can navigate to the underlying objects, something which a simple SE16 for E071 does not offer.

As far as I know, no object key is required to implement OSS Note, using NOTE Assistant.

*OSS* are online sap support notes. These notes are available online for solving critical problems in sap system.We may use the already existing notes or may add our own quaries.
In order to apply any OSS note, you have to be authorized by your company and be assigned an OSS ID and password.
For any SAP standard program modification, you are required to login to OSS and request for a repair program Access key.
Access the SAP Support Portal:

- Keys and Requests
-- Request license key
--- Follow the Steps 1 to 5 of the License keys for SAP Business Suite
Follow this step to obtain the Program Access key:
Menu Path: System -> Services -> SAP Service (Transaction code OSS1)
Login in with your OSS ID and Password
Click the Registration button
Click Register Object
Double click R/3 Value Contract
Fill in the Object Registration for Installation:
For e.g.
PGMID/Object/Name: R3TR FUGR MIGO
SAP release: 46C
Finished, click the Register button
Select the Key number and use the Copy and Paste short key to copy the Access key
You are now able to modify the SAP standard program.
Finished the modification, do remember to transport it to the production system after all the necessary testing.

Details of OSS Note in SAP tables

Hi Experts,
Do we have any standard report or a simple way by which I can get all the contents of a specific OSS note without going into SNOTE transaction. The reason why I am asking is for analysing a large volume of OSS notes. If I need to go through SNOTE and then find the objects it will be tedious. I know the table where in these details are there but I want to know if there is any report handy to use.

I'm afraid, but there is no such report in SAP using which you'll get the content os any SAP note.
Another option than SNOTE transaction is to use SAP marketpplace to findout the same.

Problem while implementing OSS note 1077403

Hi,
I am trying to implement a OSS note ( 1077403) using SNOTE transaction. When I download the note, the status of this note is u201CCan be implementedu201D. It creates few standard programs which are utility programs related to Unicode conversion. While implementing this note, I am facing the issue "Objects can only be created in SAP package" and some of the objects in the note are not created. The note status becomes u2018Incompletely Implementedu2019.
Can you please suggest what could be the issue?

Have you a basis release version >= 6.20 ?
you can use transaction SNOTE to implement the version for Basis Release 6.20 and higher.

Close the Programs that are opened by OSS Note

Hi,
We had opened some of the standard programs (With access key) and made the modifications as per the OSS note some time back, the programs that were modified are still open for editing even now and the client is concerned about the sanctity of the standard programs as they are open for everyone any one can make changes to the programs, how one can make sure that the object once opened should be closed immediately afer applying modifications, does SAP has any kind of mechanism using which we can track this,
Any help would be highly appreciated,

Hi Sailatha,
Once you have modified an SAP Object using an access key it becomes a custom Object. It can be modified at any time by any developer in the development system. If you have used the Modification Assistant or SNOTE while making the changes the first time, you will be prompted to retain your changes or reset to original in SPAU during upgrades / support packs.

How to find the OSS note related to transport req. I already searched in SDN, and market place but no luck. Please some give me the OSS note.

Hi,
Just to give you some information on transport,
Once the objects are collected in the TR, you need to release the task and then the Main request (TR) in DEV.
In QA, Go to STMS, Go to Transport icon -> select you system -> Select you requests -> Then click on the truck icon it will prompt for you target client -> go to 3rd tab and then give your options (most of the cases , it is overwrite mode). Then click "OK", they will be imported.
Note :STMS is used to perform the actual migration of the transport from the source system to the target system but in se09/10 you can only release the transports not perform the actual migration
And only released transports will show up in STMS queue
I dont know what is the OSS note your basis guys are talking about.
may be it is specific to the documentation transport. Please check with them clearly.

IDoc Adapter error / oss note 856266

Hi all,
Has anyone else run into and successfully fixed the error described in oss note 856266? We ran into exactly this issue. Found the note by searching on the error message, downloaded and applied the correction instructions, all the while feeling pleased it was such an easy fix...
Nothing changed whatever though after the correction instructions were implemented. So either we did something dumb or the fix is not working for our system. Just wondered if anyone had similar experiences?
We are on Win2k/SQLServer/SP13

One LAST suggestion. Looking at Note 837595, it doesn't seem to specify a value for authorization group (DICBERCLS). Try authorization group 'SS' (without quotes). So:
Object: S_TABU_DIS
Activity: 03
Auth. Group: SS
I recall now that a customer recently had this issue and (for them), this helped.

OSS Note - 409979 regarding dates

Did anyone had to apply the OSS Note 409979 and also I saw the process of downloading the note, it asks for setting up the Download manager, is there an easy way to download this or do I have to follow the entire procedure of setting up the Java runtime environment. Please let me know.

Hi Sabrina,
Though, the instructions can be taken by Download manager, the easiest way is the following.
Suppose you found the note and are in the screen with its description (Text tabstrip).
Click on a 'Correction Instructions' tabstrip (the 4th from the left).
Click on Ref Number at the left of the string (# 0000229616).
Click on a Object Name 'Conversion_Exit_Peri6_Input'.
The new window will show the code of correction instructions, including the piece of code after which you should delete another piece and insert the correcting one.
You can copy-paste instructions. But in your case you need just delete some code from 'Conversion_Exit_Peri6_Input' FM.
Try to force basis guys to get a dev key to implement correction.

Implementing OSS Note with /SAP/ and /DEVPROG/ - Note 1117955

I am trying to post OSS Note 1117955 which contains a Z* module from SAP as well as multiple changes to SAP modules. This is asking me for a transport for the Z module using /DEVPROG/, but then the SAP module changes are asking for a /SAP/ transport. The Note seems locked on the 1st transport and will not allow me to create a 2nd transport for the SAP program pieces. Anyone run into this before?

Usually when you do a modification to standard code (which a note application basically is) it puts it under a task of type 'Repair'.
Whereas when you change Z-objects they will be put under a task of type 'Development/Correction'
Try the following:
Create a transport that you will use for the note application which contains two tasks: one for repair and one for development/corrections and try to apply the note again by linking it to your new transport.
- SE10
- Create
- Select Workbench
- Confirm
- put in a description
- confirm
- put the cursor on the request
- click on the add user button
- choose your own user name
- confirm (this will add a second task to your transport request)
- click on the first task
- menu request/task - change type
- Choose Repair
- Do the same for the second task and choose development
