R3trans and sqlplus/@SID hang when the AS is started
Hi all,
I have migrated one platform on Windows 2003 with SAP 4.6C Oracle 10.2.2 and client 920
Everything is working fine with the DBCI + the first AS
SAP + DB + DB COnnect ...
I can perform an R3tans with return code 000 from the DBCI , the first AS and the 2nd AS as well
But When I start the 2nd Application Server ; the R3trans hangs, and I can't connect to the Database (sqlplus /@SDI hangs) through the 2nd AS, the first and the DBCI neighter.
If someone has encountered this issue, thanks for your help

Many thanks for your answer and sorry for the delay of my anser.
Indeed we have adjusted these parameters and deceased the WP for both AS.
Currently it's a closing period for us so the 2 AS si stopped for security, but for the next month we will start it whith these changes.

Hi,
I am having a problem. My macbook pro shuts down OSX and all my programs when the lid is closed. I close the lid, and then I hear the shutdown music and then when I open it again it automatically restarts OSX and all my windows and programs are closed, any info gone.
This doesn't happen all the time. Just once a day or maybe twice a day. It seems like it happens basically when I have my computer just the way I want it, to keep an eye on things for the day.
I just recently switched to a mac and while somewhat savvy, I am not a programmer or techie, but it seems to me that when I shut the lid, it should do the same thing every time.
I have a intel core 2 duo 17 inch macbook pro with 2.33 processr and 2 gig ram, if that helps.
I am in alaska and there is no genius bar here and I am hoping to figure this out before I begin bugging our local independant mac store about this.

That would make sense. What I usually do, after closing the lid, is to wait for the apple to turn off and then set it down on it's side leaning it against the side table. I will try to wait for it to indicate that it is fully asleep before I move it next time. Personally, I prefer my computer to NOT fall asleep at all, but I am told it is not an option. Apparently this function is hardware related accoring to my local mac shop. They tracked it down for me because I hated this feature when I first bought my computer and was trying some way around it.
The shutdown music I was refering to was that music the mac makes when shutting down, which doesnt usually occur when it goes to sleep, unless it is malfunctioning like this.
What does resetting the pmu do? (what is a pmu as well?)

SSDT Project hangs when the model comes up
SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition SP1 on Windows 8.1 Professional
I recently brought over a Tabular Analysis SSDT project from my work laptop to my own personal laptop. I managed to bring up the model, successfully deploy the model to SSAS on the same personal laptop (Weds).
Today when I went in to bring up the model, the system hang, CPU usage goes up to 100% and there is more than enough memory and disk space.
Any ideas would be appreciated and thanks.

anybody know why aslmanager needs 99% of CPU and 2+ GB footprint?ok, i found a solution that worked for me. this may or may not be the problem you are having but give this a shoot. i think in my case the asl database got corrupted. unline tiger and below this database is not stored in asl.db in leopard. in leopard, the entire /var/log/asl directory is the database. so to remove the database and start from scratch, you need to
sudo launchctl stop com.apple.syslogd
sudo launchctl stop com.apple.aslmanager
sudo mv /var/log/asl/* ~/tmp (you might as well use rm but i wanted to be safe)
sudo launchctl start com.apple.syslogd
For good measure I also ran the maintenance scripts:
sudo periodic daily weekly monthly
My machine has been dead quiet for hours now. darn, it's back to the kitchen for making my toast.
so, what did we learn? Mac, PC - same thing; both are great until you have problems. only with pc's you have a lot more resources to tap into...

This is the first time I get hacked this bad. I was working on a microsoft word document when the computer suddenly started typing meaningful sentences on its own that describes how skillfull the hacker is. At the that time I was on a friends wifi network that is password protected (not sure about the encyrption), the Os X Firewall was on. I was using the admin profile, however, file sharing was off. I'm very careful not to install any suspecious 3rd party software.
So far I have verified permissions and fixed some errors there, and changed passwords.
Do I have to erase/format my computer and reinstall the Os? If so is it adequte to use the internet recovery tool or will it use old and possibly infected EFI/Root files?
Would appreciate the advice of all the Mac experts out there. ThanksPlease read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.

Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.

Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
You can then quit Terminal. -
it has been only about a month that i bought my macbook pro 15 but it is heating up really fast on the left side even when the cpu usage is only 10%...i'm worried if this is a problem of the hardware?
The way something "feels" is very subjective. We would need to know your actual temps. You can install the free iStat Pro widget which is available as a download directly from Apple:

Let us know what CPU temps you're seeing at the time you feel your machine is hot. As you indicated your CPU usage was only 10%, that would imply that you already know that heavy CPU usage would be one cause for your machine to be running on the warm side... but that doesn't seem to be the cause here. -

You'll want to tune your client ports a bit
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx as seen here, and then the client ports would use those ranges which is easier to set QoS markings. I'm not sure the mobile clients respect that setting.

However, the marking of the packets is the tricky part. Windows can do it via Group Policy, but for the other clients you'll need to have the network specifically prioritize ports regardless of DSCP markings. You have to do it based on ports
as the traffic could be peer to peer.

I have updated to the latest version of iTunes (11.2.2.3). However, when I connect my iPod it shows in My Computer and iTunes opens automatically when the iPod is connected but the device doesn't show in iTunes. Any ideas? I am on Windows 8.1 and my iPod is a Classic

how come every time i'm on the phone and another call enters I answer it but it doesnt tell me anywhere who is who on each line so i can go back and forth?? it only says multiple calls and i cant hang up the other line.
My carrier is Sprint. But I actually have checked with others and theirs work fine.

Firstly hello to all. I’m looking to create a vi that will
take a single logged output from a thermocouple and monitor the temperature and
produce a Boolean when the temperature has stabilised for a pre determined time
say 1minuet. I have managed to find a couple of examples on the forum but one
will only run on V8.2 and I have V8, the other is for more than one channel
witch is fine I can always reduce this, but it was the timing feature I was
having difficulty with. I looking to monitor the temperature of a motor until
it has stabilised prior to testing and then to use this temperature as a
reference. Pleas forgive my ignorance if this is a very simple thing but I’ am

What I’ am trying to achieve is a vi I can use in a motor
testing setup, a part of this would be to warm the motor up until the exhaust
air temperature has stabilised, this takes approximately 10 minuets. I was
thinking of just letting the motor run for this time and leave it at this, but
some motors warm up quicker that others and. I am basically looking for a vi with
an adjustable temperature window of say ±5 C° in 1° increments, timing wise 1minuet
to 10min the adjustment is so I a can use this for another application. I tried
to adjust the code I found at the link below but had a little difficulty with

I have tried everything and nothing works. When the computer starts it makes weird sounds and also when I try to eject it. Nothing Works! Please Help.
I had that happen with a MacBook. It turned out that the metal case above the slot was slightly bent down.
Putting a flat blade screwdriver in the slot and gently twisting it to move the metal case up allowed it to eject. Don't put it in too far you only want to bend the case not the drive.
The case can get bent down by picking it up with your thumb pressing down on the case above the slot. -
SO CRAPPY!!! SO FED UP WITH VERIZON!! WE ARE GETTING SCREWED OVER!! I am being charged for 3 GB that apparently Verizon hadn't caught up on that I had used!! The last night of my cycle I called and checked and I had .5 GB left and right before midnight when the cycle ended it caught up on 3 GB!! I now have to pay for this data I know I did not use! I never have my data on!! Now it says I used 7 GB last month!!!
Data usages are always estimated...I don't believe any carrier post data usage in real time. I've had my data increased due to a large chunk being unaccounted for at the time of my cycle. Thankfully when I'm billed for it...it has never pushed me over my limit.

Phone freezes and turn itself off when the "Ph. se...
I got a Nokia n97 mini 2 weeks ago and the phone works great except that sometimes it would turn itself off and when I turn it back on it lags and freezes. I notice every time the phone freezes and turn itself off when the "Ph. setup" in the App menu is running. Is the device updating itself? How can I make it stop? Everything freezes as soon as the Ph. setup starts running.
I try waiting it out (if the phone is setting something up it shouldn't take more than a few minutes) but I leave it there for several hours and it's still frozen.

FYI: Siri can only do certain things when locked. It will not do anything that requires the iPhone to be unlocked (without first unlocking the iPhone).
