R6870-2PM2D1GD5/OC total height?

Hi,
Would any body be able to tell me the total height of the HD 6870 OC please?  This one here - http://www.msi.com/product/vga/R6870-2PM2D1GD5-OC.html
I've got a Lian Li V350, and my current graphics card an MSI GTX460 Cyclone doesn't fit into the case because the heat pipes are too high. 
Looking at the picture on the website the heatpipes on the 6870 don't seem to go too high up, but I'd just like to make sure before I order myself a card thanks.

It also says that the Cyclone height is 110.1mm, which is simply not true because it's ~140mm when you measure it including the heatpipes and not just the PCB.

No as in it hits the top.  In the V350 the hard drives are in a section above the graphics card.

    I would like to ask your help that my card could work properly.

    AMD PhenomII X6 Bulldozer
    Kingston 2x4 Gb DDR3 Ram 1333 Mhz
    I use Win 7 x64 Pro.
    When I try to run a game or just run the windows inside test, the monitor goes black and then the Win say "Display driver amd driver stopped response and recovered". My index of the card is only 2.0:(
    The properties of the card are factory default, I don't change anything, and I don't oc it neither.
    Pls help me.

    This is an old problem in Firefox on Windows that apparently is not solved yet. See:

    I'm not aware of any excellent workarounds. In some cases, you can place a background-color behind the image that will be acceptable once the image stops rendering. In other cases, you may be willing to fix the image to a shorter container and scroll the text within that container.

  • IMac 27" - total machine height?

    I currently use an Apple 24" LED Cinema Display with my MacBook Pro but am planning on switching to the 27" iMac...could someone with an iMac 27" please tell me the total height of this machine from the desk to the top of the display (I haven't yet managed to see a 27" in a retail store in HK)?
    The reason I ask is that I would like my future iMac to be higher than my current display but before I buy a VESA arm mount, I wanted to compare the height of the 24" display against the 27" iMac but could not becuase Apple's tech specs for each device appear to use a different formula.
    For example, the 24" LED Cinema Display is listed as having a height of 47.84 cm and I have tested my display and this appears to be the total height of the display (from the desk to the top of the display) whereas the 27" iMac is listed as having a height of 51.7 cm but from the diagram Apple uses, it appears this is just the height of the main body of the machine (not including the foot).

    Interestingly, Apple seem to be a bit confused themselves about the total height of the iMac 27" as the height appears to be calculated differently between the different country pages!
    I say this because in my original post, I referenced Apple HK's tech specs page HERE and you referenced Apple US's tech specs page HERE and if you look closely, you can see that the height dimensions are measured differently (compare the images of the back of the iMac...you'll see the US measurement extends to the base of the machine whereas the HK measurement extends only to the base of the display).
    What I'm really looking for is a real-world measurement from someone with a current machine...

  • Is there a way to get a resized element height by ILayoutElement??

    Hi all,
    I am currently working on a means of layout out dynamic text and want my layout to check the RichText component to determine if it has enough space horizontally to fit in the available real estate.  For example, if the available browser width is 300px, and the RichText is 200px, everything is fine and the component can be placed without modification.
    However, if the browser is 300px and the component is 400px, I want to resize the component to fit into the available space and trigger the RichText to present its content in a multi-line format.  I'm really close to a solution, but Ive been unable to find out if there is any means to get the height that the component will be once the width resize is complete.
    The crux of this approach relies upon using ILayoutElement within the layout and resizing as follows:
    element.setLayoutBoundsSize(target.width-HorizontalGap, NaN)
    Now I know that setting the height to NaN causes this method to set the elements height to its preferred height.  I've checked the other available methods such as element.getLayoutBoundsHeight(), element.getPreferredBoundsHeight(), element.getMaxboundsHeight() but these all appear to return the height as if the resize for multi-line didn't exist.
    My question is that I would like to find a way to figure out what the new height is GOING to be once the width resize occurs.
    Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance!
    PS. While stepping through, I noticed there is a protected $height that appears to have the correct height, but there doesn't seem to be a way to access it.  Do I need to subclass ILayoutElement to make this value available or is there something Im not seeing.

    ok so as it turns out, the $height in the component appears to only be the height of a single line.  What I really want is the complete height of the component when I allow Flex to resize.  For example:
    I have 200px of available space and the RichText has 300px of text.  I want to know the height of the entire component once Flex has resized it to multi-line so that I can tell how far down my next line needs to be.  To accomplish this, I'm doing the following:
    if(element.getLayoutBoundsWidth() > target.width)
         element.setLayoutBoundsSize(target.width, NaN);  // I'm not setting the height of the component because Flex is doing that based upon the width
    The problem is that even after calling setLayoutBoundsSize(), when I call element.getLayoutBoundsHeight() (or element.getLayoutBoundsHeight(true) ), it's still giving me the height of a single line of text and not the total height with multi-line.  I need a way to tell the entire height of the component after Flex has resized for multi-line.

  • How does font size relate to font height

    Hi,Im getting confused about font size.
    If I use a font of say font size 12. Does that mean
    - its maximum height is 12
    - its maximum ascent above the baseline is 12 but it can also go below (descent) below the baseline making total height something else.

    The short answer is: "No".
    The font size is APPROXIMATELY equal to the ascent, or probably more accurately, the ascent is approximately equal to the font size. But if you check font metrics for any given font you will see that they are not exactly equal. Perhaps there is some definition somewhere that specifies a precise relationship, but if so, I don't know what the formula is. Even the font metrics are only something of a general hint: according to the API documentation, some characters can be taller than the ascent or drop lower than the descent. And of course character widths vary widely.
    My practice is to get the font metrics object and ask what I've got, rather than relying on anything.

  • Grouped nodes added to Vbox - Height issue? Bug?

    Maybe you guys could try this out as well? I'm most probably doing something wrong but for demonstrative purposes, I've found an issue with a VBox incorrectly stating its height value when it consists of grouped nodes.
    Take the following for example, albeit simple and incomplete (it's more or less what I've got going on in my code):

                }My code is slightly different in that the construction of the groupedNodesSequence is done in a forloop within a function that returns the sequence. The sequence of nodes is then assigned to the VBox.content property.
    I've noticed that visually, it looks correct in that each node, within the VBox, is a rectangle with a label on top of it. This is fine. But when you want to know the height property of the VBox node, it seems to be overstated in that it appears to add the height of all nodes including spacing (approximately anyway) to the total height of the VBox.
    I've even tried to use the Stack feature to place the nodes in a stack formation and messed around with the X/Y translations and layout features but a no go.
    I wonder if this has anything to do with the "bug" some people (PhiLHo ?) have encountered with using VBoxes and Scrollbars and getting incorrect Scroller max values possibly due to this incorrect height reading of the VBox? Check out PhiLHo's response to this thread to know what I'm talking about over here
    I simply compensated the incorrect height difference in my code as it was more efficient for me, but I thought I'd bring this up for discussion and see if anyone else is having the same issue.
    Essentially, put a few nodes together and group them, then add the group node to another sequence, and place that sequence of grouped nodes into a VBox. See what kind of height you're getting for the VBox.

    For me, the VBox height comes out to 865, which I think is correct. You have 31 groups in the VBox, and each group has a rect that's 25 tall. Add to this the 30 inter-item spacings of 3 gives: 31 x 25 + 30 x 3 = 865. [Edited to avoid confusion between the arithmetic expression and forum markup.]
    But if you look at the heights of each of the nodes, it's something of a puzzle. The height of each Label is 14, the height of each rect is 25, and the height of each nodeGroup (each contains a label and a rect) is 36. Huh??? How can this be if the label overlaps the rect? (I puzzled over this for a bit as well.)
    At issue is how you're finding the height of each item. If you use boundsInLocal or boundsInParent, you get the heights I listed above. If you look at the actual boundsInParent of each label and rect, though, you'll notice something odd: the boundsInParent of Label are something like:
    BoundingBox [minX = -1.0, minY=-11.0, maxX=97.0, maxY=3.0, width=98.0, height=14.0]
    So the bounds of the Label are mostly above the origin, and the bounds of the Rectangle extends below the origin. That's why, when you throw them into a Group, the height of the Group is almost the sum of the two heights, even though visually the Label and the Rectangle overlap.
    You might ask why the bounds of the Label extend above the actual label text. Well, that might be a bug. I'll investigate it. If you look at the layoutBounds of a Label, it makes more sense.

  • JLabel Max height

    Hi all,
    I'm creating a JScrollPane for something like a horizontal pie chart. Then I also create another JPanel for row header view. In the row header JPanel, I'm basically adding JLabel's to name each row. Thus I want the JLabel to line up with each row in the pie chart.
    I've tried setPreferredSize(), setSize() and setMaximumSize() (and also tried doing them all at once!). However, it only gives me a "minimum" size. When I make the JScrollPane smaller, the JLabel stays at the defined size and the set location. If I enlarge the JScrollPane so that its height is larger than the total height of the JLabels, the JLabels are automatically resized.
    My question is, how can I fix a JLabel's size?

    The resizing comes from GridLayout.
    either use GridbagLayout (where you can do virtually anything) or put a Panel with null or Flowlayout or any other Layoutr that does not change size into your gridlayout and put you component on that panel.

  • Height of 27" iMac including stand

    Hopefully a simple question here... I'm thinking of getting a new 27" iMac in the near future, now that Apple has just released the upgraded models. One thing I'm not quite sure of though... I was under the impression that the total height from the bottom of the stand to the top of the screen is about 20.4" tall, but when I looked at the Tech Specs page the graphic http://images.apple.com/imac/images/specsdimensions_b20100727.jpg leads me to believe that this might just be the height of the main body of the machine, not counting a few more inches for the stand. Is the graphic just a bit misleading, or do I need to factor in some extra height?
    Also, is there any guidance on how much clearance I need to allow for adequate cooling?
    I have somewhat limited space above my desk surface, otherwise I wouldn't be concerned... as I tend to keep desktops for quite awhile I thought I'd treat myself to a 27" model but only if it fits somewhat comfortably in the space. Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    The measurements Apple uses are from the base to the top of the computer. As far as I know Apple doesn't publish specifications about how much clearance the computer needs. However common sense tells me that it should not be boxed in however if you must ensure the space has at least 2-4" around each of the 4 sides for adequate ventilation.
    Macs are known to run a little warm so it might be wise to rethink where you want to place it if you don't have adequate ventilation. Using external fans usually isn't a good idea as they tend to blow dust into the computer .

  • Gnome3 screwed up after update

    Hi there, after a "Pacman -Syu" update my gnome3 is all messed up!My wallpaper is blue and i cant change it, alsa devices are gone in gnome-settings-configuration.
    And i had to reconfigure my keyboard.
    I guess it happend after i updated the xf86-video-vesa to version 2.3.0-7.
    i'm using nvidia and nvidia-utils and i also tried to install nouveau but it didnt help!

  • Please help me with my problem, urgently worried and tired. Cant seem to find a solution!

    I was just doing my website and doing my css stylings. Suddenly, when i create a css rule, it stopped showing in my live view or browser. It still appears the way i want in design view. I have no idea why, i am only a beginner and i am struggling with this. My assignment is due soon and i have not finished, I am feeling so stressed now i have resort to asking here. Please please help me, this means so much to me...i know its really messy i just need all my css to work. The textarea and form parts are not working. any new css created from this stage doesnt work too.

    I'll 2nd Chris's comments about position:absolute.  It is definitely not needed for 98% of page layouts and in most cases should be avoided because it makes a complete mess of things. 
    You also have quite a few coding errors which mucks things up in browsers.  While I'm not certain what all you're trying to do with those labels, But I think you can simplify things enormously by using a very basic CSS layout and simple jQuery Accordion panels. 
    Copy & paste the following code into a new, blank document.  SaveAs test.html and preview in browsers.

  • How do I know if a control is visible?

    I have a form with many items in it that is in a Panel that
    scrolls vertically.
    How can I tell if the form item in focus is actually visible to
    the user.
    For example, the form item may be off screen in the user
    scrolled down a bit. I need to be able to detect this.
    Any ideas?

    You can probably come up with some logic involving the
    current position of the scroll bar and calculate the relative
    position of the field within the form based on its total height
    verticleScrollPosition/Panel.height ~
    field.y/form.height

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math".     I got preview in any browser OK, like I wanted but clicking on tabs not working and they not switching content per each tab. I maked tabindexes: 0, 10, 20,30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and nothing works.
    Where is problem?

    But the tabs do work and the content does show!
    Clicking the first two tabs causes the content to fly over to the right, outside of the content panel, exactly as the style rules tell it to.
    Clicking the other 7 tabs causes the content to show aligned to the left within the content panel, again as per the style rules.
    The total height of the tabs is 882 px including the bottom margins.
    The height of the content panels varies with the content, in case of the first two tabs there is no content contained within the content panel thus the height is zero; of the remaining content panels the height is about 1.5x the height of one line.
    In other words there are no surprises except for the fact that it would have been better not to have used the SpryTabbedPanels widget for this.
    Of course I am supposing that you have changed the personality of the TabbedPanel widget on purpose.
    If this is not the case then a good start will be
    to get rid of the modified SpryTabbedPanels.css and re-instate the original.
    to get rid of the all of the apDiv's including those inside the content panel.
    to reduce the overall height of the tabs to a manageable height by reducing the height of the images.
