R6950 Display Twin Froz II OC 2 GB flickers with multiple displays

Hi guys,
This is my situation, I have a 3 monitor setup (27" SA850 PLS) not running on Eyefinity, simply using extended desktop and playing only on one monitor. 2 of the monitors are connected to the card using Display Port and another one using the Dual DVI connector. My resolution is 2560x1440 on the 3 monitors.
When I play a game (i.e. SC2) one of the side monitor flickers, If I'm on normal 2D everything works fine. The one that flickers is connected using the display port.
What I have tried:
* Installing latest Catalyst (12.1).
* Swapping monitors.
* Swapping cables.
What I found out:
It is only happening on the monitor connected to the second display port on the card. Disregarding of what cable or monitor I use, If it is connected to the second display port it will suffer flickering when I go into a game. Remember the one suffering the flickering will not be the one I use to play which is connected on the dual DVI port.
Even more interesting, flickering WILL STOP, if i reduce the resolution of the monitor connected to that specific display port to 1280x1024.
I even tried all the following combinations where A, B, C are monitors. Min resolution is 1024x768 and Max Resolution is 2560x1440. C will be the monitor connected to this specific display port.

B Resolution Min
C Resolution Min = No flicker

I have no idea why is this happening, I really want to avoid sending the card in, I cant be without the card so if someone has some crazy ideas Im all in for trying them.

Okay, received my replacement card from Amazon on Monday, finally had a chance to install and test the new card today. So far, no artifacts that I can see. I tested in Kombustor, Amnesia: Dark Descent, a video in VLC, GIMP, and of course my Web browser. Everything looks fine, so I'll just assume that the first card I received was a bad one. Hopefully things won't change with the new card (I do not plan on overclocking it), but I'll be keeping my old Radeon 4870 just in case.
I did notice one thing that seemed odd in Kombustor though. When it did the combined test at the end for Kmark, there were constantly shifting vertical lines on the screen. Seemed to be part of the test (like old newsreel footage?), and didn't show up anywhere else. Anyway.

Big problem with HAWK system "twin froz III"

Hi, i have this 3 cards, my problem is the temp with the system TWIN FROZ III
the temps in game with the nvidia 560 GTX TI HAWK is 87º with an ambient temp of 28º " playing 5 minutes )
with core clock and shadder clock default
underclocking to the twin froz II version ( 880 core clock ) the temps with 2 hours of play is of 81º with a ambient temp of 23º
Switching the mode of PERFORMANCE AND SILENT the temps are the same ( i restarted my pc to test )
and well...
with the GTX 560 AND GTX 560 TI TWIN FROZ II
the temps playing for 2 hours is of 65º MAX
so... i dont know what to do with the " TWIN FROZ III HAWK "
any idea? bios upgrade dont do nothing, drivers MSI dont do nothing, drivers NVIDIA dont do nothing..
so where is the problem? the thermal compound of the manofacturers? too much? to less? bad thermal?

This is just a guess, you would need to ask MSI for a confirmation, and I doubt they would confirm.
But.
I reckon that some batches of the MSI 560Ti HAWK just had poor heat sink connection.
When I took the heat sink off mine, the surface was extremely rough, with highly visible (and feel-able with your fingernail) grooves all over it. Possibly to compensate for that, it was slathered with too much thermal paste. Removing the factory-applied thermal paste and doing my own, thinner application of thermal paste dropped the temps by about 4-5 degrees.
I recently got some wet-n-dry sandpaper, and have been lapping the heatsink to remove the mechanical grooves. As I did this, I noticed that the lapping wasn't occurring evenly. This means that the surface of the heatsink, as well as having machining grooves, was not even particularly flat. Both of these things would reduce its performance.
It took me 3.5 hours of lapping with 80-grit wet n dry sandpaper to get the surface flat, and will take another hour or two to polish it up. (see pictures at start, and after 1 hour, to see how uneven the surface is). Will let you know if i see any further temp improvement after lapping.
Perhaps people who already get good temps with their MSI HAWK were lucky enough to get a very flat, well machined heat sink surface, without too much thermal paste.

OK, HERE IS THE SKIVY, THE MSI R6950 TWIN FROZER 3 PE OC 2GIG, DOES UNLOCK, I FLASHED THE CARD WITH SUPPLIED BIOS FROM MSI, R6950PEX.BIN IT UNLOCKS ALL, VOLTAGE CORE, OVERCLOCK, ETC. I DID NOT SEE ANY CHANGE HOWEVER IN THE SHADERS, MY GPU-Z IS THE UP TO DATE VERSION. SO NOT SURE IF THEY UNLOCK OR NOT.

I'm not 100% sure about AMD/ATI being the same but newer NVIDIA based cards the shaders are permanently locked to GPU and can not be set separately and I'm pretty sure AMD/ATI is the same. The last VGA I had that I could unlock shaders was 260 GTX.
Edit: OK, I read you replies in that other thread you posted in and you apparently already know that so not sure why you started this topic.

Gtx 570 twin frozer buggy artifacts with less than 2 year usage

Hey friends,
I have purchase MSI geforce 570 gtx twin frozer after reading too many good things about it. MSI is famous as being the best quality brand for VGA boards but i had no luck with my first purchase of the brand. I'm currently using it now, it allows me to use web and other low resources apps with no problem but any game that I play, after 2 -3 mins of playing, it gets my screen full of weird colorful artifacts and freezes. Sometimes it sends me to desktop with a message "the display driver stopped working and recovered itself" (something along these lines, i use windows in portuguese).
What can be done in this case? Did i just lose my VGA with less than 2 years use? I'm searching for the manuals/box for it to check the warranty period, but until i find it could you please tell me if i still can get help from warranty?

Already tried various nvidia drivers but still a crash happens different sum 5 min then again 30 min in the game can someone my with this problem.
I have sent an email after msi service there I got the answer I the last driver from nvidia had to download.

This problem has not resolved old card so done in there there no trouble I think done asus 465, the problem is that the gtx 580 is overclockt.

i,ve a frustrating problem with this card in dx11 Constantly in game jusy in game with support of directx 11.

Try increasing your core voltage using msi afterburner. My card personally is stable at 0.9750mv and some users are stable at 0.9880mv. Good luck mate!

Hello. I bought MSI HD 7850 OC twin frozer. It's my first msi product and it's very disappointing becouse fans is very loud. What is solution to this problem? Do i need new cooler? Or just change vga fans?

N580 twin frozer II/OC temps at load

I just had a RMA come back for a twin frozer fan problem, on a 580GTX. They sent back a new card. This card is giving me 85 C temps after 20 minutes of folding at full load, and its fans at 85%, which seems high to me. The last one I had seemed to run a few degrees cooler at full load. I also have a 570GTX Twin Frozer II OC folding that is holding steady at only 60 C at full load. The 580 is not giving stable temps, it's risen from 83 C to 85 C while I've been writing this. The 580 is only running 50 mhz faster in the core clock with the same processor, and I know there's more circuitry on the 580 board but the 35% extra heat seems excessive. I've looked at the fans, and all case fans and the card fans are operating properly.
Is this normal? Anyone else here folding on the 580 TF? What temps are you seeing at full load folding or no?

I believe I have enough room, the Raven is a big case. Airflow should be very good, there are three good sized fans pulling air up from the bottom (air is nice and cool in the room down there) and one of them is directly below the two cards. The cards vent out the top of the case, as the Raven positions the motherboard 90 degrees turned from normal, so what's normally in back is on top. I have an overclocked i7-2700K that doesn't give me crazy temps. I keep the filters on the intake fans clean, and they were cleaned last just three days ago.

R9 270 Twin frozer lag spicks

After about 30 minutes of PC up time i will start to get lag spike, no mater what im doing (gaming, watching videos). I think its a Graphics card issue as i never had this before i installed my new graphics card. I don't know whether it is a compatibility issue or a faulty card. What can i do to find out what is causing this?

Hello!
I recently bought a gtx 560 ti/oc twin frozer graphic card and I'm curious on the temperatures.
When idle I get a temp around 33C but when under load without any clocking I get temperatures up to 83C, with fans on 100%. On the pictures below I ran BFBC2 an hour but with the case open. When closed the temps reach to 83C.

Is this normal? I recall my gts 250 ran at 60C under load, hehe.
I also checked out this review of the card and they got a nice 54C under heavy load.

GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozer Fan boot problem.

Hi,
After looking online this link (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=147023.0) is the only reference I've found to the problem I have and its with the same card (GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozer), the fans during boot make a rattling noise especially if its the first boot of the day as it then sounds like a bag of hammers. The fans seem to go back to normal after it idles in windows for a bit or if I put the fans on 100% in afterburner, now I know its not drivers as I wipe windows every time I try a driver and I've tried a few since getting the card. Is this something that can be fixed with a vbios upgrade or do I need to return the card for a replacement?
