R6i = Pie-Chart only without a legend possible & colour fix ?

I try to create a pie-chart with a legend. It is possible to set the flag for the legend on, but it don't show me one. Only with other charts it shows.
Is this correct and is there another way to create a legend ?
Are the colors from the pie always the same (fixed/defined) or can I fix it ?
Thanks for you help. Roger

Hi Shishir,
Bad news for you... I think the only way to do it is by creating and adding the chart dynamically in the code.

Mathieu.

  • Pie Chart Only Displays the Data of the First Row of the Table

    Hi Experts,
    I have a problem that the pie chart will not change when click on a second row or other rows on the table. It only displays the data of the first row of the table. How can I set up to make it reflect on any rows when I click the table? Please help, and I would very appreciate that.
    Thanks,
    -Don

    Thanks a lot for your response. I have realized that the pie chart behaves that way, so I just use the filter to see the specific data that I want. Also, you can drag the row and drop it right at the first row to see the data in the pie chart.

  • Pie Chart -- legend texts are cut (with "...")

    Hello Experts,
    when I*m using pie charts with displaying the legend, longer texts are cut (e.g.: "220/35V  60W yellow...")
    What can I do to show the complete text?
    Thanx a lot
    KR,
    Raimund

    Good Day Nics,
    the cuts are due to the size of the pie chart. you can resize your pie chart for the legends to show properly.
    Kindly tell me if im missing something.

  • Pie Chart -- Text on Axis

    Help. I have created a pie chart. The chart has a title at the top and the legend appears to the right of the pie chart. However, my problem is there is "text" that is appearing at the bottom of the pie chart with the name of the data values column name. How can I get that text (subtitle) to disappear. Ex.
    O ---------> pie chart with data values showing and legend to the right (okay).
    xxxxx -------> text at the bottom of pie chart (do not want this text to appear). I'm not sure if this is
    considered "text" or a "label". I just need to turn it off. Help
    Thanks in advance!

    HI,
    While SAP solves the problem , you can do a quick fix by displaying only one either Char or % on pie chart and have a legend to display the other value(i.e normally charecterstic).

  • Pie Chart Text Overwriting other text

    I have a web report on which there is a pie chart. The pie chart has labels that display the characteristic value, and the percentage that it represents (eg Material 1, 33%)
    I find that when one of the values is a very small percentage, that the labels appear on top of each other, making both of them very difficult to read.
    Does anyone know of a way to fix this so that they don't overwrite each other?
    Thanks in advance for any assistance

  • PIe chart to show parts of a whole

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a pie chart that shows students the number of successful class periods out of a total number of 70. I have a column displaying the number of successful days at the end of the trimester, but don't know how to "tell" the pie chart how many days are possible.
    Any help on this would be appreciated!
    Thank-you,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
    Enter the number of possible days in the table?
    What Numbers needs to construct the chart, though, is the number of 'successful' days and the number of 'unsuccessful' days. Given those two data, Numbers will automatically construct the chart showing each as the correct fraction of the whole (pie). The Chart format inspector will give you several choices of how to label the segments, including 'percentage.'
    At the end of the trimester, when all possible days have passed, the number of 'unsuccessful' days is 'possible' days - 'successful' days, and 'possible' days is a fixed number.
    If you want to use the chart within the term, you need to decide whether you want a chart that shows the 'successful' days as a percentage of ALL possible days (Chart 2), as a percentage of the possible days up to the current date (Chart 1), or to add a third category, 'days to come' (Chart 3).
    Each chart uses the data indicated by the legend under the chart.
    Formulas for table 2 (For Chart):
    B2: =COUNT(Main::$A)
    B3: =COUNTIF(Main::$A,"<"
    Column A on the Main table has two conditional format rules applied:
    Equal to  A2: (yellow fill)
    Greater than  A2 (grey fill)
    Regards,
    Barry
    EDIT: I see I neglected to recalculate the day numbers after adding a second header row. Oops! With corrected numbers, today is day 15, and charts show results to end of day 14. Formulas listed are not affected.

  • Chart only for result

    Hi all,
    I have a query with key figure SALES and drilldown for customer.
    I must to create a pie chart only for total row and key figure, but I need to keep customer drilldown.
    Is possible to do it in bex or web?
    How can I do, please?
    Thank you
    Gianmarco

    My problem is that I have some virtual key figure in the query and so if I remove the drilldown the result change.
    So I must to keep drilldown and create chart only for result row.
    The problem isn't the filter.
    Can you help me, please?

  • Pie chart bug in Numbers 3.0 on OS X?

    When I select a range and try to make a pie chart, the pie chart always shows 100% full for the first item, and completely ignores the other items to be included in the chart.
    I tried to do a 95% / 5% pie chart and no matter what I do, the pie chart only comes out as 100% full.

    Hi Rafagon,
    Try clicking the chart, then the blue 'Edit Data References' box, then in the lower left of your screen, change Plot Rows as Series to Plot Columns as Series, or vice versa.

  • Problem creating pie-chart

    Post Author: ujain82
    CA Forum: Desktop Intelligence Reporting
    Hello,      I am using BO 6.1
    I am having trouble creating pie chart. I am calculating different count values from different data providers. Now I need to create a pie chart showing the proportion for each count as I can find the percentage of count.
    My scenario(task):I need count on persons depending on searching on complaint text. So for each search I have a data providers. Like this I am searching for 8 criteria. So I have different data providers for each search. I get person counts from each criteria.
    Now I want to show it in a pie chart. But I could not make it done.Does anyone faced a similar problem? How do I solve my problem?
    Any comments?

    Attached is part of the sub-vi where I am having the problem. I tell Excel which cells to use for the pie chart. If I use "Source 1" (8 cells) the pie chart is created successfully. If I use "Source 2" (14 cells) the pie chart only uses the first cell. I can go to the Excel file and select all 14 cells manually and the pie chart displays correctly. I also tried 9 cells with no luck, it seems that 8 cells are the limit. I am trying to find what is causing the limitation. I have also attached the sub-vi.

  • Anychart pie chart - setting colours to match output (RAG)

    Hi,
    I have a table detailing outstanding issues each with a traffic light status of either red, amber or green. I would like to create an anychart pie chart whose colours match their status to give an easy visual representation of the data.
    I have managed to get it working if there's data in the table for each status type; I've used customised colours in the pie chart and used ORDER by in my SQL (the order of the customised colours listed to match the order of the SQL output), however, if one of the status' has a null value, the colours are assigned Amber 1st, Green 2nd and Red 3rd meaning that if there are no issues of Amber status the green status issues will be amber in colour on the pie chart etc.
    Is this possible to assign specific colours and if so how can I do it?
    I'm working on Apex 3.2.1.
    Thanks in advance

    I've managed to sort this now.
    In case anyone is interested, I created a view that would display the totals for each RAG status including a 0 if total is null and then set custom colours for the pie chart in the order to match the SQL output (i.e. A (amber) first, G (green) second, R (red) third). Simple but it works for my needs.

  • ActiveX pie chart range limit

    I have a problem with creating a pie chart using ActiveX that seems to be related to the range. When I give it a source of 8 cells (source 1) the pie chart works fine (Right Pie). If I give it 9 cells (source 2) the pie chart data has 9 series instead of the 1 it should have (Wrong Pie). If I go into Excel I can correct it manually. I have been using this sub VI for a while with no problems but always with fewer than 8 cells.
    I am using Excel 2007 version 12.

  • Dynamic Pie Charts

    Hi all,
    I have found (in the jdc) that it seems to be difficult to create a dynamic (data coming from db) Pie chart using JSP page. I did a beans that create basic Bar charts. Is there any way to do the same for a pie charts ? (without commercial solutions).
    I'll prefer a Beans instead of a applet, but at least this solutions can be take.
    Thanks a lot

    HiLearningSTF,
    Here I am giving you sample code below:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

    <head>
    <title>Pie Bean</title>
    </head>

    <%@ page import="com.sas.graphics.chart.*" %>
    <%@ include file="Sampledata.inc" %>
    &ltjsp:useBean id="pie" class="com.sas.servlet.beans.graphics.html.Pie"
    scope="session">
    </jsp:useBean>
    <%
    // Set the model
    pie.setModelInterface(dataModel);
    pie.setTitle("Product Sales");
    pie.setPieLabelType( com.sas.graphics.chart.PieLabelTypes.SECTOR_WEIGHT );
    DiscreteColorLegendStyle discreteLegendStyle = pie.getSectorLegendStyle();
    discreteLegendStyle.setColorScheme(com.sas.graphics.chart.ColorSchemeTypes.INDUSTRY );
    discreteLegendStyle.setVisible( false );
    PolarLegendStyle polarLegendStyle = pie.getWeightLegendStyle();
    polarLegendStyle.setStartAngle( 180.0D );
    // Output the Pie
    pie.setHeight(300);
    pie.setWidth(400);
    pie.setRequest(request);
    pie.write(out);

  • Crystal Reports Pie Chart showing Sum 100% in Legend.  How to remove?

    I have a Pie chart which displays correctly but in the Legend is displayed the values with the correct percentages AND  the Sum showing 100%.
    I need to either remove the Sum line or be able to change the text from the report since I have to produce the report in 4 languages and the Sum always shows up in the language of the server.
    the legend looks something like;
    value1  25%
    value2  25%
    value3  75%
    Sum     100%   <------  this line must go or be changed  (e.g. in Italian as Totale)
    Running a server for each language is not an option
    There are a variable number of values so I cannot overlay a rectangle on a fixed position.  (awfull solution)
    Is there any way I can simply turn off the Summ (not the whole legend which is needed)?
    any help would be greatly appreciated.
    I am using Crystal Reports 2008
    Best Regards
    Chris Ryder

    Well  Thank you everyone for your suggestions.
    The client is very specific about the look and feel so I cannot change to not using a legend.  However,  the discussions serves to confirm that it is NOT possible which is actually just as useful.
    In Conclusion
    To restate the problem  the client has a report which can be displayed in one of four languages by choice from the end user.  The report contains a pie chart which displays the various segment names and percentages as a legend.  At the bottom of this legend appears automaticaly the word Summ in the langauge of the the 'Server Locale' (in our case german Summe) and the 100% value.
    I wished to know if it was possible to either change the language of this word (without changing the server as I do not have access) or to remove it altogether.
    The answer is NO it is not possible to remove only this word or to change it in anyway.
    Our final workaround is;
    we hide the Legend on the graph and build it as a seperate entity next to the graph.  Not ideal as everything is then done twice and we have an indirect link between the segment colours and the legend colours which is not apparent directly in the report.  But at least the client has signed off on the report.
    once again thank you for taking the time to think about the problem.

  • Axis Field filter only appearing in Legend of Pivot Chart

    I was referred here after posting the following on the Office Excel user forum (answers.microsoft.com) I hope I provide all you need, but of course I can provide further details if needed. I am on Windows 7 using Excel 2010.
    Okay here goes! (thanks in advance for any direction you can provide)
    I was creating a PivotChart where I wanted to be able to filter the chart based on the fields I dropped into the "Axis Fields (Categories)" areas section of my PivotTable. This was working fine until I added the filters as slicers, decided
    I didn't like them, and deleted them. Now when I try to view the filter boxes, they will only appear as part of the legend. I do not want to show the legend as it has too many values. I would like to revert to the original behavior of showing the Axis Field
    Buttons at the bottom of the chart, where they appeared originally (Without being associated with the chart legend).
    Anyone know how to restore this behavior?
    It works this way on other chart types, like line and bar. But it no longer works on the type of chart I wanted to use which is a Pie chart. I have opened new instances of Excel and tried to create a Pivot Chart Pie chart and get the same results:
    the axis fields are associated with the chart legend, instead of being available independently.
    Any help that can be provided would be appreciated
    Thanks!!

    I guess you may want to let the Pivot chart shows like the screenshot below:
    If so, you need to add a new column(Equal to the field which you want to put into the AXIS field) to source data, then in the Pivot Table, put this field to the FILTERS .
    This was working fine until I added the filters as slicers, decided I didn't like them, and deleted them
    I don't think this operation you did would change any behavior. Perhaps you can upload this file to a file sharing site and then share the link with us.

  • Pie Chart Legend - colors and sorting value

    <p>Hi,</p><p>I have a pie chart with around 20 &#39;segments&#39; representing names of people - so it looks like several of them have the same color.</p><p>So my first question is do the standard 12 colors repeat after 12 segments have been &#39;defined&#39; - can this be extended with custom colors?.  I know you can set colors for specific values but as the list is dynamic, I can&#39;t do that. </p><p>I also have a legend defined which shows the person&#39;s name and then the value - either a percentage or a count etc.    From top to bottom, the legend lists the entries alphabetically by the person&#39;s name - however, it&#39;s not always easy to tell which name is associated with which &#39;segment&#39; and using labels is not an option as they are too long and there are too many of them to be readable<br /></p><p>So what I would like to do is have the legend displayed in numerical size order - e.g. person with largest % is at the top, smallest % is at the bottom etc.</p><p>I&#39;ve been looking at the Chart Expert, CR Help and the forums but have not seen an answer to either question - I&#39;m hoping someone can tell me if it&#39;s possible or not (and if so, how do I do it!).</p><p>Thanks <br /></p>

    Hi,
    If you go to the Chart Expert, on the data tab, you can choose the Top N option. From within there you can get your legend sorted based on the highest or lowest percentage. You can also group information so that you only see the top 5 or lowest 10 or whatever you want.
    Also when I create a pie graph based on 20 plus pieces of data it isn't resusing the colors, but they are somewhat similar. I usually do a group of the top 10 or so, then have an others category for situations like this.Â
