R9 280X GAMING 3GB GOP Bios

Title says it all...
Can I get a GOP bios for R9 280X GAMING 3GB? Don't want to order the card until I know the bios is available...
Thanks

If it works fine then no benefits really. We dont get release notes for gpu BIOSes so we dont know. Unless crucial change like fan fix or power management

No, your vbios is not too old. It is the latest UEFI vbios (TV303MH.102).

  • Msi R9 280x Gaming 3Gb, texture flickering BF4

    Hey people,
I got texture/screen flickering with my new MSI 280x Gaming 3Gb after playing the campaing in Battlefield 4 for around 20-40 min. I'm using the latest AMD 14.4 drivers. In Bf4 all graphics settings are on Ultra (vertical sync off).
I don't know if a rom could affect this weird behavior but here is my current rom: lalalalas://www.dropbox.com/s/48618erlvh4gvyy/Tahiti.rom (i am not allowed to post links.)
I recorded a short video with Fraps. This is the hidden link on Youtube: lalalaa
Temperature was around 71 when recording the video according to GPU-Z. I have read that these cards can go up to 85-90 degrees, so this shouldn't be a problem.

Vbios is latest (TV277MH.350). Try disabling CPU core parking as some users reported that it solves such flicker issues:
    http://bitsum.com/about_cpu_core_parking.php
Thanks for the suggestion. I already have some core parking function disabled in windows and in BIOS, because it could disturb any audio recording in my music software (no power saving, EIST, C1E, etc...). However, this software is new so i will try and test this out.
Is 79-80 degrees normal for this card while playing a game? This is with room temperature around 19, a Coolermaster CM690 iii with 2x 200mm fans, 2x 120mm fans. No cable cluttering and other heat sources are 4 Hd's, but there is plenty of airflow. The fan speed is sometimes keeping temp around 79 Degrees and other times the temperature goes up to even 87 while the fan speed is not even close at running a 100% (for example at 52%).

  • MSI 780Ti Gaming 3G GOP BIOS Request

I'd kindly ask for a GOP BIOS for my
    MSI 780Ti GAMING 3G
    Here is my BIOS: filedropper.com/gk110_2
    S/N: 602-V298-12SB1402074279

    Quote
what is the difference between this GOP and normal BIOS?
"normal" is a legacy vbios being not GOP compliant and not supporting UEFI booting while the GOP vbios does. That's it.
    Quote
    Are there any drawbacks?
No. A UEFI vbios is hybrid and works in legacy and UEFI mode besides latest GOP and legacy vbios versions are identical.
    Quote
Is GOP version older build than normal?
    No.
    Quote
why is GOP enabled BIOS not default?
Do you mean why it doesn't come with a GOP vbios out of the box? If so that is because older mainboards with a UEFI bios not being GOP compliant will not work with a vga using a GOP vbios. The system would simply not post. As there is a large variety of boards that this would happen with you can assume that many rmas would come in. The issue would happen on e.g. P67, Z68, Z77, X79, AMD 990FX based boards which aren't at a quite current bios version. For some older of these there even is no GOP compliant bios. To avoid this from happening it would be needed to offer a dual vbios so the user can switch between GOP and legacy vbios (like on new R9 2xx cards) but that adds costs. Shipping the cards with a legacy vbios ensures that it will work on all systems while the user can update later if GOP support is needed.

  • [REQUEST] MSI R9 280x Gaming 3g BF4 BIOS

    Hi there,
Trying to get the latest UEFI & legacy(optional) vbios for my card.
I already changed the one that came with it,because of throttle problems.
The thing is i dont trust the new one i have, since i don't know where i took it  (even if all is working for now, maybe still hot temps: 45°idle/84° Far cry 4).
Anyway,i want to clean the heatsink so help me go fresh with a recent vbios.
    Thanks!!
    Actual vBios : XXhttp://www.filedropper.com/tahitimeXX
SN : 602-V277-28SB131107xxxx (probably a redundant question but "is it safe to post the full SN ?)

Here you go though I doubt that vbios is the problem:
    TV277MS.351 is legacy
    TV277MH.351 is uefi
To flash create a bootable usb stick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0).
Unpack the provided archive (351H_S.rar) and put the included files (TV277MH.351 and TV277MS.351) on that stick.
Rename the vbios files to .rom (e.g. one to 351.rom).
Put the atiflash.exe also included in the archive on the USB stick too. Now boot from the stick.
Type atiflash -p -f -noaper 0 351.rom [ENTER] and let it flash the vbios.
For the S/N the four last characters are not needed.

  • Cooler fan broke on R9 280x gaming 3

    "4 months ago bought an MSI R9 280x Gaming 3GB 384-bit GDDR5.
It has a Twin Frozr iv cooler on it. One or both of the fans aren't working properly. The card will begin to overheat if no external fan is blowing on it.
Need some advice on this thanks. Don't want to spend too much to get this fixed.
    1. If I replaced the cooler with something else would it mess up the factory over clock settings.?
    2. How long would it take to rma?
I'm really not experienced in switching fans on the card itself.
    3. What brand and part should I buy to replace the fan?
    4. If I replace the cooler what's a recommended cooler I should get to put on an R9 280x?

I would RMA the card. As you bought it not far ago, I think you should get replacement through the seller (store/shop/retailer).
However if you don't want to replace this, then:
    1. No. Unless the cooler you use is very crap in cooling that it can't handle 40% of load.
    2. RMA can take quite long, depending where you are located. *See my 1st sentence of this post*
    3. It's not about brand. As long as the fan is the right size (e.g. 92mm) then it should work fine.
    4. I would recommend get something like Corsair H80i and use one of those NZXT's CPU to GPU converting adapters/brackets: http://store.nzxt.com/Kraken-G10-GPU-Bracket-Black-p/rl-krg10-b1.htm
But best if you replace this 1st.

Well, I crossflashed my 7970 TFIII OC to the 280X Gaming OC.
The card is cooler and runs faster, except for the "idle" bug, there is no other issue.
Maybe this BIOS would fix the idle bug, so I don't have to use the Gaming App.
Only problem with that BIOS is that it is old, from 2013., and does not support the GOP.

Eventually that is not even needed. it should be possible to switch between two versions with a hardware switch and one should be GOP compliant.

None of that is a bios version. We need a link to a copy of your vbios saved to file and uploaded to a file hoster to check if there is a newer version. If not allowed to link yet add a break to the link so it is masked being a link.

UEFI is aGOP compliant vbios that allows to use secureboot/fastboot (Windows 8/8.1). If not using UEFI booting it doesn't matter which you use. Older mainboards with UEFI but not being GOP compliant on the other hand won't work with a GOP vbios and only the legacy vbios allows to use the card.

Hmm glad it's semi working for you. What mother board are you using? I waited quite awhile and I never saw anything other then a blank screen.
    I have a MSI mpower z87 max.
I was able to flash that vbios, but I also still have a blank screen until the Windows login screen pops up. When I try to reboot into the UEFI bios I just get a blank screen. It seems to actually load but I just can't see what's going on. Another odd thing, I have an extra monitor showing in Windows (I only run one.) I tried removing it in device manager but it doesn't go away. Not sure if that's related to the blank screen issue.
