Yes , you can download from otn.oracle.com or edelivery.oracle.com/
or
32 bit and 64 bit software are the same.
They are different , check following link for more technical details about RAC on 64 bit windows

  • EBS 12.1.1 multinode installation

thanx for your quick response and i want to give you more explanation about my environment :
    4 apps node win 2003 sp2 32bit
2 db node as RAC 64bit win 2003
so what's the guidelines to install EBS 12.1.1 on 4 apps node and 2 db nodes as a RAC
    Regards

    Hi,
You need to follow the same procedure except that you need to convert the database from single instance to RAC (since Rapid Install does not install a RAC database).
For converting the database to RAC, please refer to (Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 High Availability Documentation Roadmap [ID 1072636.1]).
Note: Please update the same thread instead of creating new one if your other questions are relevant to the main topic -- Multi Node Installation for EBS 12.1.1

There will be a new version of the Standalone CHM/OS for Windows that will work with 11.2.0.2 and earlier versions available on OTN in the near future. The older version that you are using has not been tested and due to the infrastructure changes in 11.2 it is not expected it will work. The integrated CHM/OS that is included as part of the 11.2.0.3 GI installation does work as does the new GUI (CHMOSG) now available for download.

  • Install Oracle Clusterware/RAC  Windows x32bit or Windows 64bit ?

    Hi,
What is your suggestion to install Oracle Clusterware RAC on Windows.
Why choose Windows 32 bit ?
    Why choose Windows 64 bit?
What are the advantages and disadvantages?

    Hi,
I definitely recommend 64bit Windows, the principal reason is memory addressing limitation.
In my standpoint do not exist benefits to use Windows 32bit with Oracle Clusterware/RAC.
32-bit processors have address registers that are 32-bits wide (can address up to 4GB physical RAM).
You can to use a workaround by enabling the addressing of more than 4GBytes using parameters in Windows (AWE/PAE). But if I want to use more than 4Gbytes, I'll go to Windows 64bit.
The 4GB addressable space per process is divided into system and user space. By default, the system space is 2GB and the private user space is 2GB. Each user process shares the same 2GB System address space.
The services of the Clusterware, ASM and Listener will consume at least 1Gbyte of memory initially.
If you create an instance to to use 1Gbytes and you have 50 connections you will have problems with connections to the database raising the following error.
      TNS-00510: Internal limit restriction exceeded
32-bit Windows Error: 8: Exec format error
    TNS-00507: Connection closed
32-bit Windows Error: 109: Unknown errorReason: Problems of memory usage. i.e. Out of Memory.
    Another point:
With Windows 32-bit using Clusterware/RAC 11.1 you can set Automatic Memory Management(AMM) feature (MEMORY_TARGET) but you cannot use if you create 2 Instances on same Host.
    Check this note..
    *ORA-27102, OSD-00031 Unable To Extend Memory_max_target And Memory_target Past 2GB [ID 842881.1]*
Oracle Solution: Please install the 64-bit OS on 64-bit server, hence there is no memory limitations
I belive that is reason wich Oracle not support Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2 on Windows 32-bit. You cannot use ASM 11.2 on Windows 32-bit.
Definitely do not exist reason for me to to use Windows 32bit to support Oracle Clusterware.
There are lot services involved  wich require memory and a big limitation of memory on 32-bit.
At present all latest CPUs support 64bit. Then install Oracle Clusterware/RAC x64, even when you are use less than 4GBytes memory, you only have benefits.
    Benefits of Use 64-bit are:
64-bit versions of Windows have implemented up to 16 terabytes of virtual address space
64-bit programs use the 16 terabyte tuning model (8TB user / 8TB kernel)
No performance penalties for large memory
    Unlimited user connectivity
64-bit Windows versions allow addressing of large physical memory sizes without using PAE
*Windows Memory Configuration: 32-bit and 64-bit [ID 873752.1]*
This document gives a better understanding of my perspective.

  • Oracle RAC 32bit Linux OS Linux 64bit OS

I'm currently in the process of testing a 2 node RAC configuration. Is it possible to have a Linux (SUSE 9) 32bit OS Node and Linux (SUSE 9) 64bit node in the same cluster?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
At moment of instalation the OUI will copy the binaries to each node, it is not possible has different architecture on same cluster. Normally 64 bit systems can run 32 bit OS. If I had same problem, I would install 32 bit OS on each node.

I would like to know if RMAN backup and dataguard standby can be created/configured for primary RAC db on OCFS2 32bit to standby RAC db on ASM 64bit?
This is for migration purposes as opposed on ongoing to minimize downtime.

The steps should be the same for Windows (with minor changes, like you may need to create Oracle service before duplicating the database).

  • RAC 11.2.0.1 deployed on redhat 64bit - database doesn't auto start

I'm running through some migrations. Installed RAC 11.2 on new servers. Migrated 10g RAC database to new environment. I can start the database just fine using srvctl, or sqlplus. Everything looks good.
But when either node, or both nodes are rebooted, the database does not start automatically. I'm stumped. This would be similar to adding a database to a RAC environment.
All the other cluster services start; just not the database.

    Hi,
Check if a node is in a pinned or unpinned.
Before installing 10.x or 11.1 Oracle Databases on an Oracle Clusterware 11g release 11.2 cluster you must establish a persistent configuration. Creating a persistent configuration for a node is called pinning a node.
    To list all pinned nodes:
    use $Grid_home/bin/olsnodes
    olsnodes -t -n http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e17211/postinst.htm#CWHPX290

Yesterday, we installed a two-node rac with OCFS2 and ASM on two Dell2850/2950 with our CX-500 as shared storage.
We use the stock version of OCFS2 (1.2.1) and kernel (2.6.16.21-0.8-smp)
I wonder if anybody did a successful os update (including kernel) and applied the oracle patchset 10.2.0.3.0?

  • How to configure different listener for each database in 11gR2 RAC

    Hi Friends,
    Current Prod Setup :
11gR2 (11.2..0.2) RAC on RHEL 5.5 with 3 SCAN Listeners on default 1521 port.
Having 4 databases which are using SCAN-IP and listening on default port only.
As per policy, we have to create separate listeners (on different port) for each database.
    like,
    DB1 - 1522
    DB2 - 1523
    DB3 - 1524
    DB4 - 1525
Even If I configure 4 listeners using NETCA, how my failover & load balancing will happen using SCAN & Newly Created Listeners ???
    Thanks in advance..
    Regards,
    Manish

    Hi,
I tried on 11gR2 TEST RAC Server to have different listener with different port (1529) for SCAN & Node Listener & tested failover, load-balancing which was successful.

Actually different ports for different databases are required to have separation of duties. Once Firewall enabled betwen Client & DB Server only privileged users would have access to particular database.
