Rac DB 10.2  & Bpel/ OAS 10.1.2.0.0

bpel installs just fine going to a non-rac dehydration db; bpel/oas v 10.1.2.0.0 to db 10.2; re-ren irca & upgrade scripts on the db; had to insert the vip hostname for the irca script's network adapter; still cannot however, get bpel past the connection string during install - HAS ANYONE GOT THIS TO WORK? IS IT A VERSION PROBLEM OR SOME SPECIAL SETTING? - please help if at all possible

Hi Rajesh pleace tell me why i am using same version in clusterware and database if i am using 10.2.0.4 2 node rac database and my clusterware version 10.2.0.2 so what type problem in my database .
Do you mean your database version is 10.2.0.4 and clusterware version is 10.2.0.2 ?
Ideally clusterware version must be equal/higher than database version.
Clusterware version 10.2 is certified for database release 10.2 .

  • Install BPEL, OAS

I need to install BPEL 10.1.3.1 and the OAS 10g 10.1.3.1(SAO Edition). I have the software, but before I start the installs I wanted to check for the following
My laptop already has PeopleSoft appl. install, and hence I have the IBM WebSphere Webserver installed and also several versions of JDK. In addition I currently only have MS SQL Server (DB) installed, as I never got around installing the Oracle DB Single Server Install. Hence my question is
    1. Is it a better if I install all Oracle related s/w on my external HD, that is, install BPEL, OAS, JDeveloper?
    2. I would think that I need to install Oracle DB Single Server?
    3. OR should I need to just wipe out everything from my laptop and install Oracle s/w(my hesitation in this is I may need those installs some other time and although I can re-install them, I do not want to go thru that process
    Please help me

HI, you can do so, the SOA suite contains BPEL and an Oracle lite, so as long as you don't need super scalability and other EE featiures, you'l just get one new oracle home ..

  • RAC Installation

    hi
i m trying to install 9i RAC on windows 2000....installation guide realy doesnt work....according to installation guide i created logical drives on my single hard disk and down loaded CLUSTER FILE SYSTEM pack from oracle website.....next step is to run CLUSTERSETUP.EXE file in preinstall_rac\clustersetup\folders but it returns me error when i click NEXT on second screen(Create Cluster) and error message is "Unable to find an oracle disk partition. Please exit from the wizard, create Oracle partitions and try again"
can some one tell me all steps briefly??? for example what would i do firt and what afterwards etc....
do i need to run something on all node before starting any installation??? if yes then how? and do i need to create raw unformated logical drives after performing any specific configuring other nods in RAC...kindly tell me all steps...may i have a single hard drive whos one partition is NTFS and on the same physical hard drive i can create extended and then logical p[artition?
    Best Regards

you dont wrote about tasks of your rac installation.
if you need oas cluster there is a next problem: you cannt use network load balancer because nlb is not comppatible with mscs.
but i dont know about problems with database cluster.
im used such configuration last year.
Now i have the rac10g/db10g/ofs/mscs configuration.

Did you follow instructions from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/documents/bpel_admin_10.1.3.1.0.pdf page 2-7 step 1e?
Did you stop Oracle BPEL Server on both nodes and changed

  • Minimum required DB Version 10.2.0.2 ?

    Hello All,
I'm a seasoned techie that uses Oracle at work and I'd like to create a fully functioning app server to DB server at home to begin some lab learning work on building SOA apps I don't have time to learn at work.
While I'm installing the Oracle AppSvr V10.etc, it asks me where my DB server is. I point the installer to my Oracle DB Server and it tells me..."Nope, you are on V10.2.0.1.0 and you need to be at V10.2.0.2.0 minimum for this to work."
Further investigations reveals I need a "support" agreement to get that patch for the DB.
Questions: Is it possible to get this patch without purchasing support"
OR is there a technique to install a current application server against my DB V10.2.0.1?
OR is there a reasonable way for a single geek to buy support for something less than a super huge pile of $$$?
After shopping around on the sales side of Oracle, I certainly couldn't figure out the magic.
I don't need Oracle support personally, but I do want to build a fully operational SOA system with the DB and AppSvr. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way of achieving this goal?
    Thanks for any help,

If you are able to get a hold of the OAS 10G Rel2 discs (10.1.2.0.2) available on OTN , these come complete with the install of the repository (which in this case will be a 10.1.0.4.2 database).
Then see what your options are regarding a complete SOA suite install - if you want to use the latest version of BPEL - OAS 10G Rel 3 (10.1.3), then it is recommended that your BPEL dehydration store be separate from the repository for an OAS install.

Don't use the AS portal with OCS it's better and recommend by Oracle to user the portal that comes with OCS. The portal that comes with OCS is the full blown portal unlike the version that came with 9.0.4.x.
I think you would be better off uninstalling and starting over. It might be a little more work now but you'll be happy you did.

  • RAC node outage causes SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 BPEL  failure

Using weblogic 9.2 and the SOA Suite 10.1.3.4. We use a 10g Oracle RAC ( 2 nodes ); the WL cluster has a multi data source of 2 pools, each pool pointing to a single node in the rac, each pool deployed to the cluster, and the multi data source in load-balancing mode.
So the other night, one of the db nodes had a hardware failure ( ironically, with a remote monitoring / management card ). Annoying, but it should not have caused the BPEL servers to be in "FAILED NOT RESTARTABLE" status the next morning.

Both managed instances of the BPEL cluster failed, even though the 1st node of the Oracle RAC was still available.
Our 10.3 cluster, also using multi data sources to the same RAC for the OSB components, simply went on about its business using the remaining rac node pool.
Seems to be a single point of failure...

We haven't changed the JDBC connection string yet, but we did run a test in the same environment while Oracle support considers the situation.
For the test, we simply shutdown one node of the RAC and watched to see what happens. Within the space of a minute, the JDBC "Failed Reserve Request Count" was increasing by thousands on every refresh of the screen. We restarted the RAC node after 5 minutes, by which time the "Failed Reserve Request Count" was over 190,000
The 2 BPEL managed servers remained in Running status and each created a 660 MB log file within that 5 minutes. In the original outage, the nodes were down for about 15 minutes. Most of the logging is being generated from within the oracle.tip.esb classes, not by the weblogic classes. It looks like that once the pool pointing to the downed RAC node becomes disabled, the Oracle BPEL code is still trying to use it even though the multi-source JNDI is the published lookup:

  • Siebel Adapter on OAS 10.1.3.3 without BPEL?

Is it possible to run the Siebel Adapter on OAS 10.1.3.3 without installing BPEL? We are using the ESB, and otherwise have no need for BPEL, but after installation and configuration of the adapter, it does not show in the OC4J container, and cannot be accessed through Application Explorer (the server shows up after configuring the BSE connection, but there are no adapters available).
There seem to be numerous references to BPEL in the Siebel Adapter documentation, but I do not see it as a pre-requisite.
    Any ideas?

  • BPEL process retired after OAS restart

    Hi,
We are experiencing a strange problem with BPEL process manager. Sometimes when we restart OAS, several BPEL processes are retired. Any idea why?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steven

    Hi Anirudh,
Our version is 10.1.3.3.1 MLR#4 and we are planning to apply the MLR#19. We do use JMS Adapter with AQ.
Regarding what kind of processes are retired, I do not see a pattern. To me, it's more like a random thing. There is nothing being logged in the log file, which is why this is frustrating :(
    Thanks for you help!

  • BPEL + AQ + Load Balancing + OAS Cluster

    Hi all
Is there a way to provide load balancing when reading AQ messages (JMS queue, not topic) to a OAS Cluster?
    Explaining:
A BPEL server reads a flat file and send JMS messages using an AQ adapter. In the other side, there is a Java application running on a OAS cluster expecting the JMS messages, reading the queue on the AQ. As there is just one queue and many consumers (6 applications instances running on the cluster), how can I provide JMS load balancing between these 6 applications?
Sorry if this is not the correct forum to post, if you could recommend another forum I would be glad.
    Thank you
    Marcelo

    Hi,
thanks for your answer. could you please be more specific? We have found something in the JMS specification:
    JMS Spec 1.1 / Sun:
    6.11.1 Durable TopicSubscriber
Only one session at a time can have a TopicSubscriber for a particular durable subscription. See
Section 4.3.2, Client Identifier, for more information.
So only one instance (JVM) can have the JMS-connection open to the Topic. How do we load balance these messages then into the Oracle Application Server?
As a workaround, we we have currently deployed a "singleton EAR" which acts as a messaging bridge. It transfers messages from the topic into an "incoming queue" at AQ database. That queue is configured and visible on all OC4j instances. Is this the right way to load balance messages on a OC4J/OAS cluster?
    grüße,

    Experts,
Please share your thoughts on RACE CONDITON in BPEL taking some scenario.
I am looking for a scenario in a SOA composite like,

  • BPEL deployed in OAS ?

    Hi,
I've downloaded the BPEL for testing purpose, and it seems to be very interesting, especially for us in the TaskManager.
    Questions :
I suppose that this product will be bundled in OAS and Jdeveloper for designers?
Can I deploy the BPEL in OAS using some ear file shipped whith BPEL process manager?
    Thanks
    Jean-Yves

Could you please clarify a few points:
    1.
What do you mean by "events received from customers"? How does a customer fire an event? what is the data structure associated with an event?
    2.
How do you currently define the assignment logic, priority?
Looking at tutorials 110.UserTasks and 116.SendEmails, you should get a good sense of how easy/difficult it is to model a BPEL process that when invoked, creates a user task, assigns it to a user and send a notification to that user. In the next month or so we are going to delivery a set of xpath LDAP functions ldap:lookupUser, ldap:listUsers, ldap:lookupManager which will further simplify assignment.
One you have model the process, the last step is to configure it so that it reacts to the customer events. This part should be rather straight forward given that BPEL processes can be initiated through both SOAP and Java APIs. So what ever piece of code within your application detects the customer event can simply invoke your BPEL process and let that process handle the task creation, notification and other steps/activities you have defined in your BPEL process.
Here again, I would recommend trying to download and install the BPEL PM and try to implement a small prototype so that you get a sense of how easy/difficult it is. If you decide to go down that path, let us know and we will be happy to try to support you by sending you BPEL code samples and help troubleshoot any problem you might run into.
Also my recommendation is you view each task within each department as services. This will make their reuse and integration into other BPEL processes much simpler.
Good luck. Sounds like an interesting project.

    업무에 참고하시기 바랍니다.

    David,
You are right, theer are some changes incorporated in the latest MLR # 16 on the configurations files and on the dehydration store metrics(such as performance, fields,..).
However, I would not suggest to continue working on olite, even for Development/Test purposes as you might get stuck with strange errors...and the only solution would be to re-install SOA Suite if your olite gets corrupted. There might be ways to gets your olite back to position, but trust me..its not so simple.
Also, when you develop and stress test all your testcase scenarios in an TEST Adv installation, its simple to mimic the same in actual production box, as you exactly know its behavior.
So, go for a brand new SOA 10.1.3.4 MLR # 5 (or) 10.1.3.3.1 MLR # 16 SOA Suite Advanced installation with Oracle DB 10.2.0.3 as its dehydration store.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers
    Anirudh Pucha

  • How to Use / Configure Eclipse Ganymede to use OC4J in SOA / OAS

    Hi all
Just wanted to share this with you all,
For quite a while now I've been trying to get eclipse to add applications and delopy applications to the OC4J embedded in the OAS/SOA but found very little help out there but I seem to have found a work around
I know that I could have used the OC4J standalone but we needed to use the one in the SOA
Note that the OC4J found in OAS/SOA components is managed by OPMN so you cannot stop or start it from eclipse however you can deploy applications and BPEL processes to it from eclipse. You can also associate applications with the oc4j in the OAS in your eclipse project. If you need to stop and start OC4J in the OAS, then use opmnctl.
The reason eclipse will not use OC4J in the SOA/OAS is because eclipse tries to start the OC4J but seeing as that is managed by opmn, it fails but if you had a way of telling eclipse that it it did not need to start the OC4J (it has already been started), then eclipse will use it happily without trying to start it
    Here goes
Start the SOA/OAS Components using opmnctl startall from command prompt
In Eclipse Goto Window > Show View> Other > Server > Server
The Server View should now open up
Right Click > New > Select your version of the OC4J > Click Next > Point the Oracle J2EE Home to OAS_HOME\j2ee\home > Click Next > Fill in Details as they apply to you > Next > Select Any applications(If any )that you want associated with the OC4J and click Finsh
The the server state should say “stopped”
    Close Eclipse
For (OEPE i.e. Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse)
Open the plugin.xml file found at ECLIPSE_HOME\dropins\wtp\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.jst.server.generic.oc4j_1.5.205.v200805140145\plugin.xml
If you don’t have the above folder structure, then you maybe using the Standard version of Eclipse Ganymede in which case it may be @ ECLIPSE_HOME \plugins\org.eclipse.jst.server.generic.oc4j_1.5.205.v200805140145\plugin.xml
Search for the following String "<extension point="org.eclipse.wst.server.core.serverTypes">"
Make sure the id attribute for the serverType element corresponds to your version of the OC4J in the OAS i.e. id="org.eclipse.jst.server.generic.oracle10131". This corresponds to 10.1.3.x i.e. 10.1.3.1 and above
Either change the value of the initialState attribute to initialState="started" ot remove the initialState="stopped"
    Save the file
If you are using OEPE, then there is a further step, you need to open %ECLIPSE_HOME%\ configuration\org.eclipse.core.runtime and delete .mainData.1. It will be recreated once eclipse starts up again
It seems that OEPE writes server information to this file and will not read the plugin.xml if this file exists. This rule applies to every change that you make to \plugins\org.eclipse.jst.server.generic.oc4j_1.5.205.v200805140145\plugin.xml
    Startup eclipse
The server state should now say “started” i.e. if you used initialState="started"
You should now be able to deploy your BPEL Process or Other application to the OC4J in the OAS
This workaround is only valid if the SOA Components are running
    Happy programming
NOTE. If you need to Stop and Start the OC4J, you will need to use opmnctl from outside eclipse. Trying to stop and start the OC4J from eclipse will fail as OC4J in the OAS is managed by OPMN.
Hope this helps someone out there!!!
