RAC Reboot Error

Hi all,
Our RAC site has 5 nodes on SuseLinux . It's running smooth since 2009 . Suddenly , Power failure for Node5 , and then all other nodes reboot at the sametime !
It bursts out usually while UPS is out -of service . Everytime , one node down and all instances terminated afterwards.
Could anybody can give me some advice ?

Frist .nodeA Lost power and it was getting restarted:

I first have to explain that several months ago after an apple update, I always have a dialog which ask for my 'system/keychain' password... something like that which I don't have, it's not my login password.
I finally delete the annoying ~"system keychain" sorry don't remember the exact name which was always asking a password on my PB and PM and reboot. Now no more password is asked but it seems some problems are appearing any idea how to repear all those strange errors???
sudo ? recreate the keychain ???
My system is pure, no hack, anti-virus, nothing. Repairing keychain does not help, repairing disk authorization neither, tools from versiontracker neither.
I have a snow airbase.

can you be more clear when this happens, is it on startup? can you start up successfuly? have you safe booted?

Where to find system reboot error message

I saw some error message associated with dbora when I reboot the linux system. But the message disappears very fast. Where is the system reboot error message stored? Or what command that I can use to view the error message?

So I'm running Vista, a fairly new install, and I'm trying to get these drivers to work.

same as your other posts. Please have a look at the documentation and search for the RAC Starter Kits in support.oracle.com.
I believe you have a general setup problem in your environment.
Please post some more information, than just the error. Otherwise it is hard to help you.

P55-CD53 Constant Reboot Errors

System Specs
P55-CD53 with 1.6 bios
i5-750
4/8gb Corsair CMX4GXM2A1600C9(system unstable with 8, went to 4 same issues)
Antec Earthwatts 650w
Nvidia GTX 260 graphics card
I have constant issues with memeory errors, 7c, memory_management, Kernel event 41, etc
I have ran Memtest+ on every single stick of ram individually(8 passes) as well as all 4 sticks(8 passes).
I have re-installed Windows 7, Windows Vista twice and I cannot stop the reboots. Please help.

Not meant to create an argument, but a true attempt with some help & thoughts what the problem may be. The RAM you have is 'rated' 1600, but in fact is more than likely 1333 chipped. They are in essence overvolted & undertimed to run at 1600 speed. Your board, is 1066/1333 native with 1600 & above OC'ing is required. The limitations of the CPU IMC also come into play often making things even more complicated. Unless you really need 8G RAM, 4G normally is much easier to get to run stable too. It may take some playing around & tweaking, but you might be able to get all 8G working at 1333. For starters, with just 4G, set to 1333 9 9 9 24 2T @ 1.55 or 1.60V's & see how it goes.

The message says "contact Oracle support." Why didn't you?
Because, I presume, you know that you are trying to create a totally unsupported environment.
Throw away the VMWare, go to Oracle VM on Oracle Enterprise Linux and you will find a much happier experience.
Happier too because RAC on Windows is not a pretty sight when it comes to transparent failover.
But please help me out with some of what you posted
1. Did you run the cluster verify tool? Post the full results
2. Did you create VIPs?
3. Can you ssh unchallenged between the two machines?

Help with reboot error for solaris 10

Hi,
we have a sun sparc solaris 10 machine and recently there was a power failure and one of the server domain was down. So today morning i have powered up the domain and it returned me to ok prompt then i have booted the machine with disk from devalias, the system was up as normal and no error messages in message file. All the mount points we available as it was in vfstab. To be on safer side i have rebooted the machine and it never came back up and from xscf console i had a look and the system got repeating these messages as below

Hi,
The system doesnt load up to check the svcs -vx command when rebooted. I am able to bring server up when only i did a shutdown instead of reboot. when the system was up i had a look at the services which are timed out when rebooted and all the services were fine and in online state and no error in svcs -vx.
I believe it could be something of getting time out and thought of increasing the timeout for start and stop but any ways got my issue sorted by solaris itself.

Using dbca to extend RAC cluster error

Hi all,
I'm trying to extend my 11gR2 RAC cluster (POC) using the Oracle documentation (http://vishalgupta.com/oracle/docs/Database11.2/rac.112/e10718/adddelunix.htm). I've already cloned and extended Clusterware and ASM (Grid Infrastructure) to the new node, as well as cloned the RAC database software to the new node. When I run the below statement to have dbca extend add a new instance on the node for the RAC I get the error shown:

I set ORACLE_HOME before running dbca, and I've also tried setting ORACLE_SID to both racdb4 and racdb, no change. My environment is below, any help is appreciated.

I'm getting stucked about starting instance on the first node of my RAC.

We need to find out to which listener agent is attempting to connect. You can check the logs under $AGENT_HOME/sysman/log..you will should see the connect description in the log files, which should give you some kind of pointers.

Oracle 9.2 RAC installation error on raw devices

During Oracle 9.2 RAC installation on Linux Red Hat 7.3 on raw devices
Database Configuration Assistant
returned the error message:
"Raw device validation check for Data File
"/dev/raw/clustdb_raw_cwmlite_100m" failed, No such file or directory".
Really this file exists, this is a link to a raw device.
How does Oracle validate the raw file?
What does this error mean?

Really this file exists, this is a link to a raw device.OK, so you are saying that /dev/raw/clustdb_raw_cwmlite_100m is link to /dev/raw/raw<x> (x some number)??
If not - there is your error.
How does Oracle validate the raw file?File MUST exists (or link) AND it must be a RAW device.
You can check it by raw -qa (it should display all raw devices, with theirs major-minor pairs)

Rac installation error ocrconfig.bin

Hi.
I just started to install Oracle 10gR2 clusterware, but after I finnished GUI installer it asked to execute 2 scripts. The first one executed without any problems, but the second one didn't. I couldn't find any propriate solutions which works.

The message says "contact Oracle support." Why didn't you?
Because, I presume, you know that you are trying to create a totally unsupported environment.
Throw away the VMWare, go to Oracle VM on Oracle Enterprise Linux and you will find a much happier experience.
Happier too because RAC on Windows is not a pretty sight when it comes to transparent failover.
But please help me out with some of what you posted
1. Did you run the cluster verify tool? Post the full results
2. Did you create VIPs?
3. Can you ssh unchallenged between the two machines?

Before proceeding, From ALL nodes in the cluster, make sure you can successfully connect using the IP address AND hostname AND hostname.FQN.com name using the following command
ssh date <ipaddress>
ssh date <hostname>
etc...
The result should be the date and possibly the /etc/issues file.
this should not prompt to be added to knownhosts file (if it does, answer YES) nor should it prompt you for a password.
