Rachyl Help Please! iTunes won't open!
Whenever I click on the iTunes icon the user agreement pops up for a split second then disappears. Whenever I attempt to open Quicktime alone the program pops open then closes quickly as well. I have removed all firewalls and antivirus software from my computer. I have uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and Quicktime. I have run the adware removal program from lavasoft.com and still I have problems. I'm running Windows XP Home with SP2. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi mac lovers, can ya help please/ pics won't open
Hello everyone,
I think I might have made an opps. Go easy — I'm a five on the
tech. meter. I cannot open pictures on my g-5. Love this
computer.
What I think I did was drag a file to the trash that opens
pictures. Can ya help? I ran ony, the cleaning program.
That's about all I think I did. I was trying to create
some space on hard drive.
*(When I click on pictures nothing opens. What did I do?)*
Can ya talk me through this.
We know macs run like toasters. Thanks for helping.
ScottHi Scott, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Highlight one of those picture files and do a Get Info on it, (CMD+i keys), look for the Open with ^ if the little triangle is pointing to the right, click on it to expose more, what does it list as to open it with, and is that application on the Hard Drive? -
Invalid Library File - ITunes won't open - AT ALL!!!
hi, need some help! ITunes won't open, at all. Have followed Apple's advice to recreate library (by locating library.xml and moving it to the desktop, while trashing the ITunes library.itl file)ITunes still doesn't open. Connecting Ipod to laptop does nothing either! Any advice would be great!
3G Windows XPHey try this out:
Turn Norton 2005's Personal Firewall OFF, (turn it OFF Permanently until your ready to turn it back on) then click CONFIGURE.
Under the PROGRAMS tab remove any reference to Apple iTunes or iTunes or iTunes Helper Module or anything related. and reboot.
After coming back go back to Norton 2005's Personal Firewall, click CONFIGURE. Under the PROGRAMS tab click ADD at the bottom, a SELECT A PROGRAM
window will pop up. Add the following files one at a time, iTunes.exe, iTunesHelper.exe, QuickTimePlayer.exe, qttask.exe, QTInfo.exe. The last 3 are found
in your Quicktime folder where that is in your system. Click OK. Turn Norton 2005's Personal Firewall ON, and try starting iTunes again.
This worked for me. It seems the Quicktime files were never automatically entered into my Norton 2005's Personal Firewall allowable programs listing. Adding them
manually should help. I also noticed that from my previous version of iTunes the program listed in the Firewall was named Apple iTunes and not iTunes after I upgraded to 6.
Let me know if this works out. -

My iTunes won't open! It keeps saying 'The iTunes Library.itl is locked on a locked disk or you not have write permission for this file.' Please Help!
this may happen on external drives if:
The external drive was hotpluged (removed) without going the correct "eject" way
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
First Aid for external drive
Close iTunes
Unmount (eject) external drive the right way.
Mount drive again
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up" This will force the filesystem to rescan the file structure of the drive and rebuilding the file system table and journaling file.
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive) restart iTunes
If your iTunes library is on your internal drive, this may happen
The system was not shoot down correct, e.g. "pulled the plug"
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
First Aid for internal hard drive
Close iTunes
Reboot system
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up"
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive)
Reboot system, restart iTunes
If none of the above fixes your problem, post here.

I have Windows 8 and Itunes 11.1.2. When I click on the Itunes desktop shortcut, Itunes won't open. I just the icon go to the taskbar and nothing more. Please help.
Delete the shortcut and make a new one. The 'real' application will probably be fine if you launch it from the Start/Programs menu.

My iTunes won't open help please! what should I do?
My iTunes won't open, when I try to open it, it says:
"The file 'i Tunes Library.itl' cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes."
What can I do about this? please help me.Ps.. My quicktime opens and I can search for music and play it but itunes still wont' open
thank you kindly.
another couple of preliminary questions aimed at narrowing in on possible culprits.
(1) do you have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on the PC?
(2) reboot the PC. bring up your Task Manager, and click on the "Processes" tab. now try to launch itunes again.
does an "itunes.exe" process appear in the Processes tab? if so, does it persist in there or does it disappear after a few seconds? -

ITUNES WON'T OPEN AND GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE HELP
my iTunes won't open, and instead pops up a window saying:
"The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured (-200)."
Something similar to this is happening with my mac DVD player. When I try to open that, it won't open and says:
"There was an initialization error. The audio output device could not be found. Please make sure speakers or an appropriate output device is connected. [-70027]"
doesn't come in to handy when you are about to watch a new episode of Lost .
anyway, I saw the speaker thing and went online. Any sound online (music, popups) can all make sounds - so my computer isnt permanetly muted. I've also restarted my computer, done the system updates, and gone into system prefereces to mess around with the volume. The computer recognizes the internal speakers. HELP!Hey,
Here are the steps that should help:
1. Close all applications.
2. Go into the Finder>Home>Library>Preferences
3. Delete 'com.apple.iDVD.plist' and 'com.apple.iTunes.plist'
4. Restart Immediatley.
This should work. Cheers, Ricky. -

Please help! Itunes fails to open on my macbook pro. I have removed itunes and reinstalled it and it still will not work!
Try removing the Genius database. In the "Finder" go to the /username/Music/iTunes/ folder and delete the "iTunes Library Genius.itdb" file. This may allow the program to launch again. This file will be recreated upon first use of the "Genius" feature.

Just did the iTunes update that iTunes said was available, now iTunes won't open. I just keep getting a Runtime Error message.
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the apps support team for more info.
Is anyone else having this problem?
I tried to re-install and got the following message: iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114)
Does this mean I have now lost everything?I just had the same error:
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the apps support team for more info.
I went to http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 and did a complete removal and reinstallation of iTunes. You MUST follow the directions here exactly...it's more than just iTunes that must be removed, and it MUST be done in the order in which the support article says. I followed the exact instructions, and iTunes is back on my machine (no more C runtime error) and you do NOT lose your music...it's all in my library, as it was before.
Good luck! -
After an iTunes update failed to install, iTunes won't open and I get the following two windows. Program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer, and iTunes not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (windows error 126) When I reinstall I get the same messages and ITunes won't open.
Click here and follow the instructions.
